“You do have a lovely way with words, fiancé!”
Chapter Seventy One
After the best night’s sleep in I don’t know how long, I quickly got ready for a leisurely day with Zack. I was going downstairs when I heard Scarlett calling for me.
“Jennifer, where are you?” Scarlett shouted.
Zack was standing with her and Jasper at the bottom of the stairs. They were all smiling up at me.
“What’s going on?”
“Well, Dad said with everything that’s been going on, what with us finally finding out about Mum, we all deserved a holiday. We are going to New Orleans tomorrow for two weeks,” Scarlett informed me excitedly.
“What? That’s brilliant news. I can’t wait!” I told them, going in for a group hug.
“Wait until you see New Orleans, Jennifer. It’s fucking amazing!” Jasper informed me.
We all looked at each other and laughed.
“I better get some packing done pronto!” I told them, trying not to panic.
“I will get some suitcases out for us.” Zack followed me upstairs.
“Zack, I am so excited. I can’t wait to see where you grew up and meet your family, but what if they don’t like me?”
“Are you crazy, JB? They will love you as much as we do!”
“Wow! New Orleans! It’s just what we all need, Zack!”
“You will love it. I can’t wait to show you the sights!”
He lifted me to him as I automatically wrapped my legs around his taut waist.
“Do you have anything else you want to show me, Mr Cole?” I whispered to him as I gently kissed down his neck.
“Jesus, woman, you are insatiable and greedy!”
Chapter Seventy Two
The flight to New Orleans was quite long but so worth it.
We toured around the beautiful city and we were made so welcome in Zack’s parent’s house.
His Mum and Dad, Harrison and Beth, were a lovely couple. I met his brothers Sam, Harvey and Jake and their respective partners. They were a really good-looking bunch of men and they all had similar beautiful eyes and sandy blond hair. Of course in my biased opinion Zack was the best looking. We enjoyed meals with them and had a great time hanging out and relaxing. Scarlett and Jasper enjoyed getting spoilt rotten and they had great fun with their cousins.
They threw us an engagement party and I met even more of Zack’s family.
The famous Southern hospitality was lavished on us.
“I am taking you to the Mardi Gras tonight, JB. You will never forget it. The sights and smells are amazing!” Zack told me after dinner on our final night.
After dinner, we took a taxi into the city centre and we had a fabulous evening partying until the small hours with his brothers and their partners.
We start kissing passionately whilst we were dancing to some jazz music and I started to feel really horny. Zack had some effect on me when he danced. It was the way he moved seductively and pressed his beautiful body into mine.
It was very erotic and so intoxicating.
As we writhed and moved our sweat-slicked bodies to the music, I saw Jake staring over at us with a knowing look on his handsome face.
“Come down here, Jennifer,” Zack whispered, grabbing my hand.
I willingly followed his lead as desire coursed through my body in waves.
I was burning for him.
He led me to a deserted alley way and continued kissing me. His large warm hands caressed my breasts through my sheer dress and he kissed down my neck.
Zack’s large body pinned me to the wall and as his gorgeous mouth devoured mine, he released himself from his jeans with a groan. His hand ran up my leg and when he reached my underwear, he pulled hard, ripping the barely-there fabric. I gasped loudly as our kiss deepened. His tongue thrust around my mouth as I sucked on it hard with mine.
“I am going to fuck you really hard against this wall!” Zack panted, spreading my legs wide apart.
I cried out with inexplicable pleasure as he glided easily in. He grunted as he deeply pushed into me through my slippery wetness. Zack held my hands above my head, pinning me to the wall which seemed to increase the hotness of the amazing sex.
“Oh Zack, I love you so much,” I told him as I wrapped my legs around his waist.
He pushed deeply in and out of me with a raw electric energy.
An amazing orgasm started to build up deep inside me. It felt so hot, sexy and dirty as he filled me up and satisfied me beyond belief.
The very loud jazz music made for a heady steam-filled cocktail.
A light-headed feeling rushed through me as I surrendered myself fully to him.
I couldn’t take much more as he continued powering deeply into me.
I was so lost completely in him, body, mind and soul.
“Zack,” I exclaimed as I climaxed.
I tightened beautifully around him, as he continued gliding in and out. I kissed him deeply as I enjoyed the sensation of the amazing orgasm that swept ruthlessly through me.
“Oh baby! Yes!” he shouted as he came with such force I thought I would pass out.
Eventually his body stilled as his urgent need for me was satisfied.
“That was really, really hot, Zack!'” I panted breathlessly.
“I knew from the first moment you came into my life that it would always be like this between us. Raw, hot, wild and very intense,” he whispered.
“I knew it too.”
He pulled back from me and brushed my damp hair out of my face gently and tenderly.
“Let’s set our wedding date. Why don’t we make it April near your birthday?” he whispered then he kissed me sweetly and tenderly.
“That sounds so perfect.”
Chapter Seventy Three
Friday 12th April 2013
After careful planning, the day had finally arrived. I was so excited, nervous and scared.
The past few months had passed quickly as I threw myself back into work at the station. My sergeant’s exam was in a month’s time and Zack had been testing me in his spare time.
My Mum had made a full recovering and had recently been given the all clear. She would be closely monitored but after re-constructive surgery, nothing was slowing her down.
Zack took us all away skiing for Christmas and New Year to St Moritz and we had a fantastic time as a family.
His 39th birthday was on Valentine’s Day – how predictable!
I surprised him by buying him an eight-berth cruiser that was moored at Maidstone. I sold my flat in Ashford and used some of the money to buy it for him.
He absolutely loved her and she was called Star of New Orleans.
The twins’ seventeenth birthday was shortly after Zack’s and he gave them Audi A3s. They started taking driving lessons and Zack took them out quite often.
For some reason, he wasn’t so keen on me taking them out!
Zack reluctantly gave me a prenuptial document to sign. He looked so embarrassed about it but I fully understood that a man of his exceptional wealth would need to give himself some protection. My mouth gaped at how much he was worth but there was nothing in it that I objected to.
The only thing that bothered me was that fact that Olivia drew it up.
If we split up, I would get a sum of money each year and a sum of money for each child we had together.
I signed the document and gave it back to him with a kiss.
Zack’s nightmares thankfully stopped and he started talking to a therapist which I believed was really helping him.
I couldn’t believe I was thirty and I was not crazy about it but there wasn’t a lot I could do. I didn’t feel it and Zack said I didn’t look it.
I had been feeling a bit under the weather recently and I put it down to stress. I had gone off alcohol but to be fair I hadn’t fancied it much since the hangover from hell after Jack and Chloe’s wedding.
I decided to buy a pregnancy test as I had been a bit lapse with my
pill. I couldn’t remember when I last had a period either. It was probably a false alarm but I just didn’t know.
Anyway, the test lay in my bedside drawer unopened.
The wedding was to be held in a marquee in the extensive grounds of Zack’s home.
My Mum, Dad, Jack and Chloe all stayed with me at the house but Zack stayed at a hotel in town with Jasper and Jake.
We felt that the old fashioned way was best.
My best friend Katie from back home was to be my chief bridesmaid along with Scarlett.
“Jennifer, are you awake?” Scarlett asked knocking on the door.
“Yes, come in.”
“Happy Birthday to you, Jennifer. Are you excited? I am!” she told me, sitting on the bed.
She had brought me a welcome cup of tea. Her beautiful young fresh face was alight with energy.
“I am, but I’m a bit nervous to be honest.”
“It will be fine and you will soon be Mrs Cole and my step-mum.”
“I am looking forward to that bit, Scarlett. I love you to bits, you know.”
“I love you too, Jennifer,” she told me, hugging me.
“Here, I got you a present.
“That’s so sweet, thank you.”
She passed me a card and a silver box with a ribbon on. I opened the card that read, “You are like a mother to me.”
Tears filled my eyes as I kissed her cheek. Next I opened the box and it contained a beautiful white gold necklace with a gorgeous pearl drop.
“Scarlett, it is gorgeous and it will be perfect with my dress. It can be my something new!”
“I am glad you like it, Jennifer. I will let you get ready. See you in a bit.”
After a relaxing shower, Rachel, the hair and make-up lady, knocked on the door. Scarlett and Katie followed her into the room.
“Let’s get this bubbly open. Come on!” Katie laughed, popping the cork on some very expensive champagne Zack had sent up to the room.
“I’m sorry but I don’t fancy it. I haven’t eaten anything. I am too nervous to eat.”
“Well, bottoms up! I will have a drink for you then, babe!” Katie shrilled.
Rachel put my hair up beautifully and curled it. She kept the make-up to an elegant minimum and then she moved onto Katie and Scarlett.
“Can you help me into my dress, girls?”
They helped me into an off-white lace dress with long sleeves. It was designed by one of Zack’s main advertisers whom he had negotiated a good deal with.
My dress was stunningly beautiful and I felt like a movie star in it.
“Oh Jennifer, you look so beautiful but your massive boobs took some taming! I’m only jealous,” Katie told me as she giggles.
“Ha! Thank you. What time is it?”
“It’s 2pm. Only an hour to go!” Scarlett said, hardly containing her excitement.
Shortly afterwards, my Dad knocked on the door.
“Can I come in, Jennifer?”
“Come in, Dad.”
“We will leave you too it,” Katie said as they filed out of my bedroom.
“Oh my goodness, you look absolutely stunning, darling. You take my breath away, sweetheart, Happy Birthday!”
“Aw Dad don’t, you will have me streaking my make-up.”
“It’s nearly time for you to get married, sweetheart!”
“I know. I am so nervous, Dad.”
“If you are as happy as your Mother and I are, that will do nicely. He is a good man, Jennifer, and he asked me if he could marry you. Did you know that?”
“No, I didn’t. Bless him. I love him so much, Dad.”
Taking a deep breath, I quickly checked my make-up for the last time. I gathered up my lovely bouquet of lilies courtesy of Connor’s Mum Lynne.
“Are you ready, darling?”
“Yes, let’s go.”
We started to descend the staircase and Katie and Scarlett followed behind us. They looked gorgeous in their wine-coloured dresses.
My legs were wobbling outrageously as I took the staircase and I appreciated Dad’s steady arm to help me.
“Here we go.”
I took a deep breath.
We made our way to the large dining room and I was relieved to see Zack standing at the front with his brother Jake, his best man. Jasper was at his other side. He ended up with two best men. He chose Jake as well as Jasper as there was only a year between them and growing up, they were as thick as thieves.
The song, Never knew love like this before, played as I confidently walked up the aisle towards Zack.
I got to choose this one and Zack got to choose the song as we went back down the aisle as man and wife.
Neither one of us knew what the other had chosen.
He hadn’t turned around to look at me until I was standing by his side.
When he did, he took my breath away.
My heart swelled with love for him.
He was my soul mate, the other half of me, my one and only.
Zack turned to me and gave me a broad lopsided smile.
I felt like I had lit up inside.
Obviously he looked beyond gorgeous in his beautifully-tailored grey morning suit. Not a strand of his sometimes unruly hair was out of place. He had about two day’s stubble on his chin and he looked absolutely, breathtakingly, beautifully irresistible.
This is it, the moment I give myself to him and him to me.
My stomach flipped as he looked at me with those amazing sapphire blue eyes. Our amazing chemistry fizzled tangibly in the air around us as something special passed between just the two of us.
“Hello, beautiful. Happy Birthday!”
“Hello, handsome, and thanks!”
Jasper winked at me. His lovely face beamed with happiness.
The registrar started the service and we got to our vows. We had both written our own and we didn’t know what each other was going to say.
My heart was fluttering with nervous energy.
He held my hands gently in his as he stared into my very soul.
It was the same look that he had given me on the day we met.
“Jennifer, the day I met you I knew we would be together. You took my breath away. You made me feel so alive again, so whole, so complete. You are the most beautiful, most wonderful, smartest, kindest woman and I feel so lucky and proud to make you my wife. I can’t breathe without you. I can’t live without you. I don’t want to ever be apart from you. You are the moon to my stars and you are the sun to chase the rain away. I promise to love and cherish you forever and ever.”
He smiled shyly at me as tears formed in our eyes.
“Zack, you are my soul mate, my lover and my best friend. When I met you, I fell head over heels in love with you and I feel so happy when I am with you. You complete me. You cherish me. You love me. You are the most gorgeous, intelligent, sensitive man I have ever met and I can’t wait to spend the rest of our lives together as one. I am lost without you and I light up when I am with you. I love you more and more each day.”
After our very emotional vows, I could feel more tears welling up in me.
I couldn’t look at my Mum.
The registrar ran through the rest of the service and we got to the part where she asked if anyone knows of any reason that these two people may not be joined in marriage to declare it now. There was a quiet hush in the room but luckily none of his exes jumped up and started singing, “It should have been me!”
“I now pronounce you man and wife. You may kiss the bride.”
Zack stepped forward and took me into his arms. My legs turned to jelly as he passionately kissed me, probing his tongue into my mouth seemingly unaware that there were about eighty people watching us. He grasped the back of my neck tightly as my hands gripped his hair. People started to cough and shuffle around.
Eventually he released me and we both started laughing.
A loud round of applause and whistles echoed around the room.
Everyone started laugh
ing and I looked at Scarlett as she rolled her eyes and smiled at me.
“Wow, that was some hot kiss. I’m glad I recorded it for YouTube! It reminded me of New Orleans Mardi Gras!” Jake laughed as I squirmed and blushed, realising he must have seen us in the alleyway.
“Jesus, what are you two like!” Jasper shouted laughing.
We walked back down the aisle to Zack’s song, This guy’s in love with you, and we all headed outside for some photographs.
It was a bit cool but the low sun was still shining.
“I’m so happy, Zack. I love you to infinity and beyond!”
I beamed at him, feeling like I was on top of the world.
“I love you too, Jennifer,” he replied, grinning at me.
We all headed into the toasty warm marquee and the wedding breakfast commenced, starting with smoked salmon, followed by sorbet. The main course was beef wellington with sticky toffee pudding for dessert. It was an absolutely delicious meal and I enjoyed every course. I didn’t touch any alcohol as I just didn’t fancy it.
After the wedding breakfast, it was time for the speeches. My Dad started the ball rolling.
“Good evening everyone. I hope you are enjoying this beautiful wedding as much as I am. I know you will all agree when I say how stunning Jennifer looks today and what a beautiful couple her and Zack make. My daughter has worked hard in her career and she didn’t have much time for a love life but when she met Zack, she managed to skilfully combine the two! I won’t ramble on but I would like to wish them many happy years together and possibly some grandchildren! Please raise your glasses to the bride and groom. Oh and a very happy thirtieth birthday to Jennifer!”
Everyone got to their feet to toast us as I smiled up at my wonderful Dad, kissing his cheek. I wiped a tear from his eye.
Next it was Zack’s turn.
He smiled over at me and gave me a long kiss.
“On behalf of my wife and I, I would like to thank you all for joining us on our special day. When I first set eyes on Jennifer, I knew she was someone special and I fell hopelessly in love with her. Jennifer is a really remarkable woman. She is beautiful, kind, loving and generous. I still can’t believe that she is mine. I feel like the luckiest man in the world and I look forward to spending the rest of my life with her. Jennifer, Scarlett and Jasper have become really close and I know that they think the world of each other. She will be a fantastic step-mother to them and hopefully we will be blessed with some children together. That would be so amazing! I have a special 30th birthday present to show you all later! Please raise your glasses to my stunningly beautiful bride, Mrs Jennifer Cole, and Happy Birthday!”
