Wrath (Time of Death Book 2) Page 5

by Candy Crum

To a succubus, or an incubus, a human like that was rare. They were built for sex. They were hunters, themselves. He was the type of man that could go for hours, stopping only to grant mercy for his victim for the evening. I could smell the need on him. His pheromones were potent. Sweet, yet natural. He wore cologne, but I doubted that he needed it. Regardless, it was just the right amount, and I could feel my head doing exactly what he’d meant for it to... It was swimming.

“Hello, Curtis,” I said. “I’m Mia. How are you?”

He took a step forward, having judged his proximity by my openness to speak to him. Smart boy. Though, that was debatable with his choice in me. He certainly wouldn’t be disappointed. Well, provided I didn’t get too carried away. I certainly hoped not. He seemed like he might be fun to call back later.

“I’m great,” he said. “Thank you. Can I buy you a drink?”

I smiled. “I think you should buy yourself one. If you keep talking to me, you’re going to need it.”

A moderately confused expression crossed his face before his exuberant smile returned. “Is that so?”

He wasn’t quite sure how to respond.

“I’m not your average girl,” I said. “I’ll follow you to the bar. What do you drink?”

  “Beer, usually.”

Hmm. I didn’t like, nor would I ever like using my abilities against someone. I didn’t want to influence him into being calm while I fed from him. Felt a little… assualty. I planned to do as I’d been taught to do. Full disclosure. Tristan never seduced his “dates” with his powers, only his charm. He always told them what he was, though he was sure to make them forget that bit later. I planned to do the same. It seemed like the right thing to do. Otherwise, how would I be any different than a frat boy drugging a girl at a party?

Poor Curtis was going to need a stronger drink.

“Go for something a little stronger. I’ll take tequila,” I said.

He smiled. “Sounds good. Walk with me?”

He took my hand and led me through the crowd. It was a larger club and was completely packed. The stage was empty, as were all of the dancing tables. Between sets, I imagined. The dancers were probably changing their outfits. It was still early enough they’d be wearing cute, sexy costumes instead of being fully nude. It reeked of booze, smoke, and the scent of arousal. One would assume that smell would entice me, but I had my standards. Some humans smelled worse than they looked. Allow that to set in. Yeah…

“You said tequila, right?” he asked.

I nodded. “Yep. That would be great.”

The bartender came by, and Curtis ordered a shot for me and a Budweiser for himself. That certainly wasn’t going to be strong enough for what was in store. He couldn’t say that I didn’t warn him.

“I’m not much of a strong drink kinda guy,” he said. “But on occasion. Besides, I doubt that I’ll need it. You seem nice enough.”

Oh, honey… My poor, poor deluded prince.

I smiled. “I suppose. So… can I be completely honest with you, Curtis?”

“Absolutely. What’s on your mind, beautiful?”

He was sweet, but I could tell that it was a means to an end. Not that he wasn’t a very nice man. I simply knew that he had plans, just as I did. Only he was being far too subtle. Sure, I liked that in a guy, if I might date him. Unfortunately, I was no longer the dating type. Damn Will, rest his troubled soul, but damn him. I still blamed him for this. Making me what I am.

I took a deep breath, looking around to judge the patrons in the immediate area. They were very drunk and preoccupied, just as I’d hoped.

“Have you ever heard of a succubus?” I asked.

I decided that honesty and forwardness was the best. I was getting better at compulsion. It wouldn’t take much to compel him never to speak of me.

“Sure. They were supposed to be sex demons, right? They fed from sex and killed their victim.”

I wasn’t sure if I’d expected him to know, but the fact that he’d heard of them made my job easier.

“Yep. Except, we aren’t demons. See, I thought that at first. Turns out we are just supernatural. We don’t actually spawn from hell or anything,” I said.

His eyes narrowed a bit as a nervous smile spread across his lips. He wasn’t afraid. Not by a long shot. He didn’t believe me, though. Not that I expected him to.

“We?” he said, forced humor in his voice.

I imagined he was reconsidering that stronger drink at that moment. I was certain I sounded insane to him.

“I decided that just because I have to hunt, doesn’t mean that I have to be sneaky about it. I think it’s kind of rapey. You know… If I were to use my power to compel you to have sex with me,” I said.

He nodded, his body rigid. He was uncomfortable. “Saying it like that, I suppose your reasoning is very sound.”

I reached out, the tips of my fingers gently bushing his hand. “Relax.”

I’d seen Tristan do it to Andrews. It was amazing what a simple touch could do. Seemed that I was a quick study. It was only one word, but his entire body followed my command. He exhaled as the rigidity in his posture faded away.

“Wow,” he said. “I don’t understand… How…” His voice trailed off, confusion evident on his face.

“I told you,” I said. “I’m a succubus. I won't force you to do anything you don’t want. If you want to have fun, we can. And no, we don’t have to kill our lover. I can feed on you without hurting you at all.”

Well… I hoped that I could. Tristan was confident that I could do it. Luckily Cass was lurking about in the shadows, ready to peel me off of my vulnerable prince if I needed him to.

“If you don’t want anything to do with me, which is totally understandable, then I’ll compel you to forget about me and I’ll go. This is your decision. I just didn’t want to waste any more time. I’m starving and you are far superior to any other human in here. I’d love to have you.”

I was a bit shocked at my forwardness, but when I went for something, I went for it. I’d decided that I wouldn’t be regretful anymore. I am what I am. Acceptance seemed to be working well for me.

He thought for a moment, his eyes wandering up and down my frame. I could smell the twitch in his pants as he thought about touching me. Tasting me. The corner of my mouth lifted in a devious smile. He was fighting with himself, and I loved it. I loved watching it.

“I’ve always imagined a succubus to be very dominant,” he said.

“Yeah. We can be.” I took my shot, chasing it with a drink from his beer. “Is that what you want?”

He stood, stepping forward and lowering his mouth to my ear.

“I don’t mind a dominant woman, as long as she knows that I’m the one in control.” His voice was deep in that moment, almost a growl as he subtly threatened me. Yum.

“Anything you wish,” I said. “I’m yours.”

He pulled back, the tip of his nose resting against mine. I wanted him to kiss me. I wanted to taste him. He wanted control, and I planned to give it, but I also wanted to exercise my own. I wanted to see exactly what I could will him to do.

I reached out once again. His eyes were focused on mine, limiting his field of view. My fingers brushed the hand that he had resting on the bar. A shudder rocketed through his body as my influence took hold. I bent him to my will. Twisting his mind to believe his body was my playground. I smelled the immediate increase in his arousal as it built and built, his brain overwhelmed as I willed it to believe that he was being stimulated all over. It took only seconds for a climax to seize him, nearly dropping him in the floor where he stood. It was only by sheer force of his own will that he managed to stay upright. Mmm. He was going to be so fun.

“You can think you’re in control,” I said. “As long as you remember why you’re there. For my pleasure. That one was for free. Anything else you get, you’re going to have to work for.”

He took a deep breath, regaining control as I released him
from my influence. The orgasm seemed to make him ravenous. Almost dangerous in the way he looked at me. It was undeniably sexy. He shook as he stared me down.

My eyes wandered to the left, and I saw Cass standing there, his lips slightly parted. His eyes were dark as he stared directly at me. I’d seen that look on his face before. He wanted me then, too. I wondered exactly how much energy I was putting off. I turned my gaze back to my date.

Curtis smiled as he spoke, his voice dark. “That’s very cute. Let’s get out of here. Now.”

I returned his smile. I liked that he was forceful. Earlier, I couldn’t decide if I wanted to be dominant, or be dominated… It turned out that I wanted both. I wanted something I’d never had before.

Without wasting any more time, I led Curtis off to one of the rooms used for private dances. I could feel Cass’ presence and knew he was following me. I hoped he’d make sure no one barged in the door as there was nothing more than a curtain to shield us from the other patrons, though that made everything even sexier. I’d never done anything like that before.

Once we were in the room, the curtain closed, I turned to Curtis. “Sit.”

His eyes narrowed as he smiled. He didn’t speak as he wandered over to the couch and had a seat. I could clearly see the impressive bulge in his pants, and it made my mouth water. I wanted him.

“Take off your shirt,” I ordered.

He did as I asked, throwing the off to the side of the couch. My steps were slow as I approached him, pulling my own shirt off. Underneath, I was wearing a lacy black and neon pink pushup bra. His eyes glazed over with desire as he licked his lips. He was exactly where I wanted him.

I slid my shoes off before turning around to face the opposite direction. As I did, I saw Cass standing in the doorway, the curtain drawn only a couple of inches. Just enough that he was able to watch me. My heart thudded in my chest. I’d never felt sexier in my entire life. All thoughts of anything bad were gone. All that was left was me, the sexy human that I was about to have fun with, and the undeniably sexy vampire watching me with an intensity no human man could match.

A dark smile spread across my mouth as I looked at Cass. I absentmindedly pulled my lower lip between my teeth, gently biting it as I unbuttoned my pants and slowly pushed them down. I heard a moan from Curtis behind me and knew that he was enjoying the view of my matching, lacy black and pink boy shorts.

“Get that beautiful ass over here,” Curtis said.

I couldn’t resist one last look at Cass before I turned to make my way over to my willing victim. As I stood before Curtis, I placed one foot on the edge of the couch before speaking.

  “Touch me.”

Curtis placed his finger tips on my hips. The gentle touch sent chills down my body, tiny goosebumps rising on my skin. He then slid off the edge of the couch, his mouth level with what desired him most. He licked me though the lace, and my reaction was immediate. I felt the power surging through me, needing to feed.

When I looked down at him and saw his eyes widen for a moment, I knew it was because my face and eyes had changed.

“Is this what you want?” I asked, my voice barely a whisper. I could hardly find words, let alone the voice to speak them.

Curtis did not hesitate. He wrapped his arms around my hips and pulled me tighter against his face, sucking on the sensitive area through the thin fabric. I moaned loudly, feeling myself lose control.

With my enhanced hearing, I could hear Cass turn several people away from the room. He was such a good bodyguard. Every so often, I’d turned to look at him watching me. I knew that part of it was duty. He had to watch in case something bad happened. He could stop me from killing, but I knew that some of it was pleasure. We’d tasted one another before. I could always feel that tension between us, even if he refused to admit it because of Tristan. Right then, it was undeniable. I could smell his arousal. If Tristan hadn’t threatened him so harshly, I knew he’d be in there with me. Another first.

The sexiness of having one man’s mouth on me as another man that I was so attracted to watched proved to be too much. Curtis moaned against me as I began to cry out with my first climax. Before it fully ended, I felt Cass’ hand around my throat from behind, his mouth at my ear. His touch sent shockwaves through me, intensifying every sensation rocketing through me at that moment.

“Please,” I said. “I want you, too.”

I felt Curtis shifting. Cass pulled me back a bit, allowing Curtis to stand. I expected some irritation or anger, but the compulsion from when I’d told him to relax was still present. He simply shrugged and sat back on the couch.

I could hear Cass’ labored breathing, and I knew he was fighting himself. His left hand was tight around my throat, but not so much it hurt. His right hand was wrapped around my arm. His body pressed against mine. I could feel his hardness against my backside, and it drove me insane. I wanted them both, but I knew Cass wouldn’t give in. I didn’t know what he was doing, but I knew he wasn’t going to give me what I wanted.

As I stepped forward, Cass released me. This time, I faced Curtis head on while my backside was to Cass. I slowly slid my panties off, making sure to bend all the way over as I did so. The low, guttural growl that escaped Cass nearly lit my entire body on fire with need. I knew how hard he was fighting himself, and it only heightened everything around me.

Curtis had already slid his jeans down, revealing what I’d correctly assumed to be an impressive endowment. I made my way over and climbed on top of him. Watching his eyes roll back and close as I sheathed him inside of me was incredible. The power wrapped around me, and I felt it touching his life force.

I leaned forward to kiss him, but Cass’ hand wrapped in my hair as he pulled my head back. His eyes were locked on mine as I moved against Curtis.

“You’re connected to him. You don’t have to kiss him. Kiss me instead.”

I saw the desire in his eyes. He was holding back so much, but he still couldn’t stop himself. He kissed me then, his free hand caressing my side and my right breast. I felt an explosion of control around me. I had them both. I could kill them both in a heartbeat if I wanted, but I didn’t. I didn’t want that at all.

My body controlled Curtis, bringing him the intense pleasure that I wanted him to feel as I syphoned some of his energy away. My lips, however, were Cass’. He kissed me hard, and I felt a connection build with him. I felt his dark energy swirling around me as I pulled it toward me, feeding on it. Soon, I felt another climax building. I’d never felt such power or so satisfied.

Just as I was about to fall over the edge, I felt Curtis’ hands grip my hips as he controlled my rhythm. Cass used my hair to pull me away from him, his mouth moving to my ear.

“Scream for me,” Cass said just before he buried his teeth into my throat.

I did as I was told, not having another choice as another climax took hold. My body was overwhelmed with sensations, and the pleasure never seemed to end. I felt Curtis find his own, and I slowed down my feeding as he began to slow down. Cass pulled back, taking one last lick of the blood that had trickled down my neck. As he did, I moved off of Curtis, so I could inspect him a bit.

“How are you feeling?” I asked.

He sat there for a moment, his head resting on the back of the couch as his eyes stared at the ceiling. He blinked a few times as he thought it over.

“I don’t have words,” he said. “I don’t want to forget you. That was… I expected at least some pain, but… Wow. That… Damn. I really don’t want to forget you.”

“You don’t have to forget me,” I said. “You only have to forget what I am. Right, Cass? I can make him forget what I am without actually forgetting me?”

  “Yes, that’s right,” Cass replied.

“Yeah… Speaking of that…” Curtis lifted his head and looked at us both. “Who are you? I didn’t say anything. At the moment, you seemed into in and seemed to know him, so I really didn’t give a damn, but now I’m a bit curious.”

>   “This is my friend, Cass,” I said.

Curtis nodded. “Okay, then. So, what happens now?”

I reached over, resting my hand on his. I remembered how easily it was to touch the power while we were at the bar. How easy it was to manipulate him while I was aroused. I hoped I could do the same while satisfied. That would be the test.

I pushed some of my energy through him and watched as his face went expressionless. I had him. “Now you forget what I am. You forget my face. Forget my name. Forget Cass and everything you saw with him. All you remember is going to the strip club, meeting a fun girl at the bar, going into a private room, and having a lot of fun. Do you understand?”

  Curtis nodded.

  “Good boy,” I said.

“Hurry and get dressed. I’ll be outside,” Cass said. His voice and his words were very short. He seemed upset, but why? That had been so much fun!

“What the hell’s wrong with you?” I asked as I walked outside. True to his word, he was standing just outside the entrance to the club. I didn’t even get a chance to ogle the dancers.

“We need to go.” Again with the shortness.

“Cass… Please. What is wrong with you?”

He didn’t speak as he walked toward the car. The tires squealed a bit when he took off. He ran his fingers through his dark hair. The street lamps flashing as we drove through the city allowed me to make out the worry on his face.

  “Cass?”

“What!?” Cass yelled, his hand going into the air. “What, Mia?”

“I-I’m sorry,” I said. “I didn’t mean to upset you. I’m just trying to figure out the change in you between then and now.”

Cass sighed. He gripped the wheel, and I worried it might snap in his grasp.

“Tristan is going to kill me, Mia. I did it. AGAIN! Jesus! What the fuck is wrong with me?”

“You didn’t do anything wrong,” I said. “Stop doing this to yourself!”

“Are you serious? I can’t seem to keep my hands off of you. I mean, sure, I can normally. I don’t say anything out of the way. I don’t even flirt with you. But there is something about you that I can’t get enough of. It’s going to get me killed.”
