Their Rebellious Submissive (Office Intrigue Book 3) Page 4

by Nicole Edwards

The guy was a dickhead. It was a damn good thing Mr. Parker had stepped in when he had. Otherwise, I’d probably be in jail right about now for having killed the bastard with my bare hands. I’d been damn close. The second I saw him wielding that crop and hitting her with a force I couldn’t even fathom, I’d wanted to rip his fucking throat out.

Part of me wished Mr. Parker hadn’t stopped me, but I knew my Dom. Had we been anywhere else, he would’ve let me have a go at the guy, but when in the club, there was a protocol to be followed. Which meant, as a Dom, Mr. Parker had the right to intervene. I would’ve, too, if I hadn’t been wearing a collar. Although we generally co-topped when we came here, tonight, we hadn’t intended to play with anyone else. I’d come as Mr. Parker’s submissive. In this realm, I was what they referred to as a switch. Which was exactly what it sounded like. My needs switched from the desire to dominate to the desire to submit.

And because of my deep need to submit tonight, I’d had to adhere to the club’s rules.

Which was probably a good thing. I could be hotheaded from time to time, especially when I was faced with a situation that resonated so deeply with me. I tended to let my emotions rule in those instances.

Conversely, the man I’d long ago fallen in love with was nothing if not logical, and that made him a damn good Dom. He didn’t let his emotions guide him. In fact, he often suppressed the damn things until they came back to bite him in the ass. I knew this from personal experience, and that was the very reason it had taken us so long to get our relationship to the point that it was now. As it was, we’d only moved into this phase—the most serious this side of marriage—in the last year.

Addison sighed and I peered down at her. I did my best to keep my hands from wandering over all that sleek, smooth skin currently covered by the blanket. And damn, but she was small. Not only was she short—probably around five two, give or take—she was far too thin. About the only thing that wasn’t stick-figure thin on her was her booty. She had a seriously fine ass and I’d been tempted to tell her as much when she’d joked about it earlier.

I did love a woman with a nice, juicy ass.

Not that the whole package wasn’t beautiful. Addison Hayes was sexy as fuck, but she would stop traffic if she had some meat on her bones. Had she been my submissive, I would’ve been ensuring she ate three squares a day and indulged herself whenever she wanted.

  Shit.

Thinking about her as mine was not the direction I needed to be going. For one, it was highly inappropriate considering the situation. And two, Mr. Parker and I were still getting over the fact that the last woman we’d played with ended up falling in love with our partners.

There was no denying that Mr. Parker and I had been hopeful when Luci came to work for the firm. She’d been everything we could’ve possibly wanted. Sweet, innocent, eager. But fate had intervened, and in the end, we’d had to let her find her true happiness. Jumping right in again seemed almost foolish. Regardless of what my cock thought as this woman’s sensational backside squirmed some more.

Addison shifted, her small body curling in closer to me. I tightened my grip, wanting to make sure she felt safe. I ran one hand down her long, thick hair, then rested my cheek against her forehead. She felt far too good in this position. And it wasn’t completely sexual, either.

Although…the idea of sinking into the tight sheath of her body while she clung to me wasn’t something I would likely stop thinking about for quite some time.

  But not right now.

That train of thought was not helping the damn club in my pants.

“Are you feeling better?” I asked, making sure the blanket covered her completely.

“Peachy.” She sounded just as feisty as before, but she didn’t move and I certainly didn’t mind.

The good news was that Addison wasn’t attempting to put distance between us just yet. She’d settled down, but I could still hear the slightly jagged edge of her breaths, knew something was on her mind. I wanted to question her about where she intended to go when she left here, but I figured it was best to wait for Mr. Parker to return. Although I was a switch, we both knew that my submissive side was far more prominent these days, for whatever reason.

I happened to think that was because I hadn’t found a submissive of my own. Didn’t mean I wasn’t keeping my eyes open, but until the right woman came along, I wasn’t putting forth much effort.

My eyes dropped down to the girl sitting in my lap.

Then again, maybe I didn’t need to be looking.

Perhaps the girl who was meant to belong to both of us had been placed right in our path.

  ADDISON

AS MUCH AS I WAS enjoying being docked on this big, sexy man, I knew it was about time for this ship to sail. Preferably before Master Parker came back and directed that intimidating glare on me again. I could totally do without more of that tonight.

But Master Snowden was just so comfortable. Plus, he was a gentleman of the highest order. He had been pretending right along with me that the hard ridge of his cock wasn’t trapped beneath my behind. At one point, I’d had to stifle the urge to giggle like a schoolgirl. The mere thought of turning this man on did strange things to my insides.

And no, I wasn’t sitting here trying to come up with a plan to seduce the guy. I wasn’t that type of girl. It was just that I’d been in a pinch and he’d saved me. Maybe this was what Stockholm Syndrome felt like. Wait. Didn’t that have to do with being held captive or something?

  Who knew.

The door opened and I realized my time to bolt was getting infinitely closer.

Despite my better judgment, I didn’t move, wanting to soak up more of Master Snowden’s heat for a few seconds longer. This night wasn’t going to get any better from here. Especially since I was going to have to find a place to stay. Being that we were downtown, I seriously doubted I’d find a park bench that wasn’t patrolled by the police, and that meant I would have to head for a shelter as soon as I got dressed. I had to have a place to sleep, and if I was lucky, one of the nearby shelters would still have a spot open.

“Have her drink this,” Master Parker said.

Master Snowden’s chest shifted beneath my ear, so I pulled back to see Master Parker handing over a bottle of water. I reluctantly took it after Master Snowden unscrewed the lid.

  “Feeling better?” Master Parker asked.

“Like a million bucks,” I said, pasting on a smile.

That wasn’t a complete lie. My adrenaline rush had faded, and I was feeling more like myself. The pain from the crop had dissipated for the most part. Only a slight sting when I shifted a certain way. My biggest issue had nothing to do with my physical state, but I wasn’t going to tell either of them that.

“A million bucks, huh?” He seemed amused by me.

“Are you offering? Perhaps you’ve got some spare change lying around?” A genuine grin took over my face. “Because I certainly won’t turn you down.”

“Are you propositioning me, little girl?” He did not appear pleased with that.

My eyes widened. “Oh, God, no.” I chuckled, finding it amusing that he had misunderstood. Sheesh. What did he think I was? A hooker? “I wasn’t offering anything in return. Simply letting you know I’m here if you need to unload some extra cash you’ve got lying around.”

“And now you’re a comedian?” His amusement was gone. “So, tell me again, Addison. Do you have someplace to go tonight?”

Damn it. I was hoping they’d forgotten all about this topic by now. Unfortunately, that didn’t appear to be the case. I should’ve known that neither of them was going to be satisfied with my lack of answer earlier. Based on the glower on Master Parker’s face, he was apparently waiting for something more than the shrug I’d offered.

  “Family? Friends?” Master Parker probed.

“I’m…uh… Sure. Someone’ll be nice enough to let me stay with them.” I took a sip of water, hoping he was buy
ing the bullshit I was trying to sell him.

The two men shared a look. It had me getting to my feet so fast I nearly stumbled. Had Master Snowden not reached for me when he had, I would’ve taken a header when my blanket got caught on the chair. Once I was stable, I backed up as I secured the blanket around me. Yep. It was definitely time for me to go.

“Hey, you know what? I do have a friend I can stay with,” I lied. “She…uh…doesn’t live too far from here.”

They shared another look before Master Snowden turned to me. “Good. We were leaving anyway. We can drop you off.”

  Shit.

I shook my head. “No…no, thank you. I’d…uh…prefer to walk. Exercise and all.”

“That’s not going to happen, little girl,” Master Parker said, his tone rich with irritation. “It’s the middle of the damn night, and I’m not going to let you walk the streets alone.”

“I’m fine,” I insisted, letting my temper flare. “And I don’t need a babysitter.”

Before I could get to the door, Master Parker inserted himself between me and my exit, his arms crossing over his wide chest. For half a second, I considered shoving him out of the way, but I knew the man wouldn’t budge unless he wanted to.

“What’s your friend’s name?” he asked.

  “Dave,” I lied again.

“Dave? Seriously?” His face scrunched up. “I would’ve sworn you said your friend was a she.”

  “I meant Beth,” I tacked on. “Beth’s married to…uh…”

  “Dave?” Master Snowden supplied.

Shit. I should pay closer attention when I lied. It took too much effort. “Yes. Beth’s married to Dave.”

  “And where do they live?”

  “Down the road.”

  “Which road?”

  “The one behind the building.”

Master Parker clearly wasn’t impressed. “What’s Beth’s last name?”

I shrugged. “We’re not that close.”

“Call her,” he commanded, his voice lower than I’d heard it tonight.

“Well, I would, but I don’t have a phone.” I knew they didn’t, either, because phones weren’t allowed in the club.

  “We’ll find you one.”

  Crap.

I dropped my gaze to the floor. A second later, big fingers curled beneath my chin and I was forced to look up at Master Parker, his deep blue eyes focused on my face. He was so beautiful it hurt to look at him.

However, his current expression was not all that attractive. It was clear by the groove in his forehead that he was trying to figure me out. No doubt, he knew I was lying and he was likely trying to formulate a plan to handle me.

I could’ve told him no one could handle me.

“Do you know what I do to subs who lie to me?” His tone was calm—as though he were discussing what he was making for dinner.

“No, Sir, I certainly do not.” When I was nervous, my inner brat tended to come out.

Another of those devilish grins appeared on his face. “Generally, I’d lay them over my lap and they’d get fifteen swats from my hand.” His eyebrow lifted. “However, you’re not in any shape for that tonight. So, we’ll table that for another time.”

  Another time?

“There’s always tomorrow,” Master Snowden added helpfully.

I glanced his way to see a smile tilting his full lips. God, those eyes. They were…mesmerizing.

Turning back to Master Parker, I pursed my lips. “I won’t be here tomorrow.”

The big blond man smiled and his face went from attractive to so sexy I felt my body temperature heat. “Neither will we.”

I glanced over at Master Snowden, who had come to stand beside Master Parker. Separately, they were intimidating. Together, they were scary.

They were evidently ganging up on me.

“Since you’re apparently not going to be forthcoming, I’ll make a suggestion,” Master Parker said, drawing my attention back to him.

“I didn’t know you were capable of that.” I flashed him teeth. “You know, making a suggestion.”

“Oh, little girl, you have no idea.” Those blue eyes pierced me and I had the sudden urge to drop to my knees and submit to him. In every possible way.

  I didn’t, though.

I was made of tougher stuff than that.

“We happen to own a building here in downtown,” he continued when it was obvious I had no retort. “We both have apartments in that building and I’d like for you to come back with us. I’ll let you stay at my place and I’ll stay with Ben tonight.”

I frowned. “Why would you trust me to be at your apartment alone?”

  “Because I have cameras everywhere.”

“Oh.” Well, that made sense. Sort of.

Then again, if he knew I was a homeless drifter, he might want to change his answer.

“But first,” Master Parker continued, “we’ll grab a bite to eat down the street. It’ll give us time to talk. That way I’ll know if I need to restrain you to the bed or not.”

“Restrain me?” That shouldn’t have made me hot.

“Yes. So you won’t steal my fine china,” he added.

He was joking. Master Parker was actually joking.

  Wonders never ceased.

“You don’t have fine china,” Master Snowden noted, his words directed to Master Parker, but his attention was on me. “But it is a formidable plan.” He grinned wickedly. “You staying at his apartment, that is. Not the restraining you part. What do you say?”

Maybe it made me as pathetic as Josh accused, but I wasn’t above accepting a free meal at the very least. I had absolutely nothing to my name aside from the clothes I’d left in my locker when we arrived tonight. I knew that Josh was already tossing my shit in the trash, perhaps even setting it on fire as he did.

God, I hated starting over. Again.

On the other hand, maybe I could take them up on the offer. I didn’t have a place to stay and the thought of walking into the shelter made my stomach churn. But we could start with food and perhaps they’d come to their senses after that.

“Would you mind if I speak to Master Edge first?” Although I appreciated everything they’d done, I wanted to get Master Edge’s thoughts on the two men. Sure, they were members here, I’d seen them around, and I’d heard some rather sordid stories about them, but I still didn’t know them.

It was probably a good idea to let someone else know in case I disappeared forever.

“I’d be disappointed if you didn’t,” Master Parker said. “Now, let’s find Greg so we can get out of here.”

With that, they led me out of the room, through the dungeon, then up the stairs. Thankfully, the place had cleared out somewhat, so the pitying stares were few. But they were there. I could feel eyes tracking me and they were likely thinking I was a pathetic mess, just like Josh had claimed.

Yeah. I was ready to go.

It didn’t take long to locate Master Edge. He was talking to one of the DMs near the bar. Master Parker interrupted him, then informed him of my request for a tête-à-tête.

“We’re going to change,” Master Parker said after Master Edge agreed to talk. “We’ll wait for you by the bar.” His eyes narrowed. “Should you decide to bolt, have enough respect to let me know. Understood?”

There was a sincerity in his gaze that made my decision for me. “I won’t bolt.” Not tonight.

  “Thank you.”

  I turned to Master Edge.

“Go get dressed, then meet me in my office.”

“Yes, Sir.” I hurried toward the locker room pretending people weren’t still watching my every move.

The room was empty, and wanting to keep it that way until I was done, I rushed to pull on my panties, giving my ass a quick once-over as I did. Most of the marks were gone, as was the pain. I could still see a few welts, but hopefully they’d be gone by morning.

After pulling on my bra and my shorts, I yanked my Guns n’ Roses T-shirt ove
r my head, then crammed my feet into my bright pink Converse.

All dressed up and nowhere to go.

  Well, actually…

  Five

  ADDISON

  TIME TO FACE THE MUSIC.

After grabbing the small wallet that had my ID and my social security card, along with the library book I’d checked out last week, I shored up my nerve and walked out of the locker room with my head held high. That didn’t last long, because as soon as I approached Master Edge’s office door, the muscles in my shoulders tensed and I found myself staring at the carpeted floor.

I tapped on the door with one knuckle.

  “Come in, Addison.”

The second I stepped inside, my mouth opened and words came tumbling out. “Master Edge, first of all, I’d like to apologize for what happened tonight. I am so sorry that I allowed that to—”

One big hand lifted, halting my bout of verbal diarrhea.

Master Edge’s electric blue eyes focused intently on my face. “It wasn’t your fault, Addison. No one here believes that, so why should you?”

He motioned me inside, then pointed to the single chair across from him.

Keeping my hands in front of me, I eased down onto the edge of the seat. “Because I’m the one who brought him here.”

“All members are vetted,” he countered, some of the heat disappearing from his tone. “So it’s as much our fault as it is yours.”

  “I really don’t—”

“Now’s the time for you to stop,” he insisted in that unflappable Dom voice of his. “Is that what you wanted? To apologize?” He leaned back in his chair. “Because it isn’t necessary.”

I sighed, then managed to relax somewhat. “No, that’s not why I’m here. I really just wanted to ask you if there was anything I should know about Master Snowden and Master Parker.”

Master Edge’s dark eyebrows darted low, as though he was confused.

The man really was outrageously attractive. Some might say he was the hottest guy at the club. Between the perfectly styled black hair, those gas-flame-blue eyes, and all those sinful muscles atop a six-foot-five-inch frame…yeah. I’d have to say he was likely in the top five.
