“Lieutenant ComEY, we won’t need your assistance the rest of today but report back tomorrow morning to resume your security detail.”

“Yes, Commander.” Lt. ComEY walked off.

She looked up at LemAN. Why did she need to have a security guard now that they were back on board the Horizen? “Is everything okay? Are you expecting trouble?”

“I will feel better once we are on the other side of the wormhole.” They walked out of the docking bay and she knew they were going back to his quarters. Should she say something to him about going to her place? They hadn’t talked about moving in together but since he’d claimed her as his mate, it would be the next step.

As soon as they entered the lift, he took her face in his big hands and leaned down to kiss her. She wrapped her hands around his waist and moaned in pleasure. Their bodies seemed to fit perfectly. It felt so right, she felt like she was missing a piece of herself and only now finding it in him.

  “So what’s the plan?”

“I’m taking you to bed and making love to you for hours.”

She smiled up at him. “Good plan.”

They exited the lift and made their way down to his quarters. As they reached the door and LemAN entered the secure code to open it, his comm link went off. He sighed as he answered it.

“This is Commander LemAN. No, I’ll give them an update myself. Meet me in my ready room in five minutes.” He ended communications.

  “You have to go?”

“I’m so sorry, Teagan. Prime Commander KydEL is requesting that I update him on the situation with the Morinians. Then I have to update my second commander on what we’re doing and I need to make sure those satellite dishes are properly installed on the other transport.”

“Right, you have a lot to do. Will you be back for Evening Meal?”

He frowned. “I’m not sure. I didn’t even think about you missing the Midday Meal.”

“It’s okay. I can order something to be delivered.”

He leaned down and kissed her. “I’ll come as soon as I can but don’t wait on me if you are hungry.”

She watched him walk away and disappear in the lift. After closing the door behind her, she looked around the room. Teagan was going to get bored quickly if she didn’t find something else to do. She walked over to the small table and picked up her digital tablet. Pulling up her program, she entered the code to modify it. She had come up with an idea and wasn’t sure it would work, but there was only one way to find out.

LemAN ended communications with Katieran Prime Commander KydEL. He had not been available during the first communications with the leaders and LemAN wanted to follow up with him on the situation. He turned to look at his second commander, also his friend.

“You look like you have a question, BorIS.”

“You’re going to use the Morinians to draw out the Morins. That could be extremely dangerous considering that we have no idea if there are more Morin transports out there and the Morinians have no way to protect themselves.”

“I know it’s a risk. The Morinian leader understands this. No matter what action we take, the Morins are going to be watching and waiting to make their move. The safest thing for everyone involved is to get them to follow us through the wormhole. Prime Commander KydEL is going to have their transports waiting on the other side but hiding to a certain degree so that they are undetected. Once there, the Morin transport will be outnumbered and stand no chance against our forces.”

“It just doesn’t sit well to have females and young put at risk in order to draw out the enemy.”

“I would offer to have the Morinians placed on our transport and have a team of our own take their place, but the Morinian commander and leader are distrustful of us. I do not believe they would agree to that. They have not committed fully to the temporary relocation on the Colonial Planet.”

“I don’t blame them for being distrustful. Males who should have sought to protect and care for them betrayed them and hunt them like they are nothing more than animals.”

LemAN nodded in agreement. “The Morins have truly betrayed every law and belief they once held. The comparison between the Morins and Morinians is so stark and different you would never think they were related. From my interactions with them, the Morinians are more similar to Katierans.”

  “That should help them assimilate.”

  “If they agree to assimilate.”

“They won’t have a choice. If their own population is dying off like ours had been, they will need to mix their genetics with a source that has not been tainted by the virus,” BorIS noted.

“I had not thought of that.” LemAN had assumed that after a while the Morinians and Katierans would eventually join.

“I’m not a medic so it’s hard for me to know the facts, but it would only make sense.”

If the Morinians did not find a species they could reproduce with, they would eventually die off. His people had been on the road to extinction before they found the Earth females. The planet Earth was in bad shape and soon would not be able to sustain life if their scientists didn’t do something to help rebuild the natural resources.

LemAN rubbed his chin thoughtfully. “We’ve transported many Earth females and now the Earth World Government is demanding that we relocate families and then the males. What if we move most of the unmated males to the planet with the Morinians?”

“Are they compatible? What are the males like? I’ve never met human males before but assumed that they were weak and useless if they allowed their females to be taken away by aliens.” BorIS looked disgusted by the thought.

“Their people were desperate, BorIS. They agreed to let us offer relocation but it would be their people’s choice. The females that came volunteered and if they hadn’t, we would not have hope now that our species will continue on and prosper. Per the agreement, we will have to relocate the males eventually.”

“I just don’t trust them, but I guess if we can put them together with the Morinians it could solve many issues we have with helping the Morinians and with finding a home for the Earth males.”

“Well, the first thing we have to do is find a suitable planet for the Morinians. While we are doing that I will check with the medics to make sure that the Earth males will be compatible. Then I have to discuss this with the Morinian council. They may be opposed to the idea of mixing with alien DNA.”

“They won’t have much of a choice since they have few males of their own.”

“It will still be their choice.”

“Okay, that will have to work itself out later. What do you need from me to ensure that we get the Morins’ attention?”

“I haven’t completely figured that out yet. Do you have any ideas?”

“Perhaps we could move our transport closer to the Balar planet so that it appears that we lost interest in the Morinians.”

“Yes, but we need to make sure that they notice the Morinian transport. Make it so that they can’t ignore them.”

“How in Kitana are we supposed to do that?”

LemAN gave his friend a look. “I think I know what we have to do, but it will all depend on whether the Morinians agree to it.”

  Hours later

LemAN entered his quarters and noted that a small light globe on the bedside table was lowly lit, illuminating Teagan’s sleeping form in the bed. She was wearing one of his shirts and a pair of underclothing. She was curled up on her side and had kicked the covers off.

After quickly removing his clothes, he walked over to the bed and climbed in. He pulled her body to his, wrapping himself around her protectively. He inhaled her scent and released the tension in his body. Nothing smelled as good as Teagan.

“LemAN,” she whispered, snuggling closer to him.

  “Shhh…go back to sleep.”

  “I missed you.”

“Goddess knows how I missed you, too. Sleep, honey. You are exhausted.”

  She y
awned then fell asleep again. He was amazed by her trust in him, the ease with which she believed in him and that he would protect her. He swore he would do whatever it took to make sure she never regretted placing that trust in him.

Closing his eyes, he tried to ignore his body’s response to her. That was difficult. Merely the thought of her had him responding, but holding her, feeling her soft curves against his hard body, was a temptation that he didn’t want to ignore. He took a deep breath and released it slowly. He repeated the same action over and over until finally he succumbed to sleep.

  Chapter 16

  The next morning

Teagan woke up disappointed that LemAN wasn’t there. She knew he had come back to his quarters late last night and held her in his arms. She never felt safer than when she was in LemAN’s arms.

She worried that he was exhausting himself. When was the last time he had eaten anything? Well, she was determined to make sure he took care of himself.

Getting up with a purpose, she quickly showered and dressed in the clothes she wore yesterday. She planned to stop at her quarters to get fresh clothing. She wanted to talk to LemAN about whether she should move in with him or not. It seemed silly for her to have separate quarters when she would spend her nights with him.

Teagan faced things head-on. She was in love with LemAN and wanted to be with him, not two levels away or even one door down. She wanted to make love to him every night and sleep in his arms. She wanted to wake each morning and share the Morning Meal with him.

She opened the door to the quarters to find Lt. ComEY waiting for her. “Good morning.”

“Good morning, Teagan. Did you want to head for Morning Meal?”

“Not yet. I want to go by my quarters and get my things. I plan to move in with LemAN.”

“I’m sure he will be happy about that.” ComEY sounded a little envious.

Teagan put a hand on his shoulder. “You’ll find the right woman one day, ComEY.”

  “Do you think so?”

“I know so. You’re handsome, funny, and kind. Any woman would be lucky to have you.”

“Well, it’s probably going to be a while. I have to serve another month before I’m able to take a leave. Maybe by then we’ll be back on Katiera. You haven’t spent much time there, have you?”

“No, just a few weeks, really. I’m looking forward to going back and having LemAN show me around.”

“The Goddess has blessed him with you.”

She felt heat rise to her cheeks. “Thanks. I won’t take long. I only have a few bags.”

“Pack everything and I’ll send a few of our warriors to collect them and drop them off at the commander’s quarters.”

“Thank you.” She quickly packed her few belongings. It was a sad state that everything she owned and brought with her fit in two large suitcases. She was done in thirty minutes. “That’s everything.”

“Good. Let’s get you to the meal room. I think I heard your stomach make hungry sounds at least four times already.”

She laughed. “Here’s a tip for you: if you want to win a girl over, don’t talk about her growling stomach.”

He chuckled. “I’ll try to remember that.” They entered the meal room. “Do you know what you would like to eat? I can get it for you.”

“Actually, I want to get it to go.” She got two platters with lids and began to fill them both up.

  “You must be really hungry.”

She rolled her eyes at him. “One of these is for LemAN. I don’t think he’s been eating.”

“I’ll carry that one for you.”

“Thanks. Let me grab some drinks.”

They left the meal room and headed to LemAN’s ready room. ComEY had requested LemAN’s location from the computer and it relayed that that was where he was.

The door was open so she entered and paused at the threshold. He was talking to one of his warriors. He caught sight of her and motioned for her to come all the way in. LemAN got up and came around the table to take her in his arms.

“Good morning, beautiful. I’m sorry I had to leave before you woke up.”

“It’s okay. I know you’re busy getting the Morinian transport ready to go through the wormhole.”

“Is there anything I can do for you?”

She gave him a smile. “Actually, I brought you breakfast. I figure you haven’t had much time to eat.”

  “You’re right. I haven’t even thought about it. I don’t know if I’ll have time…”

“You need your energy. Sit down and eat.” She pointed to his chair.

He gave her a heated look. “I am hungry but not for food.”

She heard shuffling as warriors piled out of the room, closing the door behind them. She felt her cheeks getting warm again. She moved out of reach, circling the table. “All you’ll eat right now is food. Sit.”

“You’re bossy for such a little thing.”

She sat down in front of one of the trays and took the lid off. He sat next to her but didn’t touch his tray. She spooned some of the white stuff that tasted like mashed potatoes to his mouth.

He moaned in pleasure. She could feel the vibrations straight down to her pussy. Feeding him was more erotic than she thought it would be. She might not make it through the whole meal without climbing onto his lap and riding him. That imagery had her pressing her knees together.

LemAN growled. “I can scent your need. Let me feast on something much better.”

He pushed the trays to the side and lifted her up on the table.

  “LemAN! Someone might walk in.”

He didn’t stop as he reached for her pants. “If anyone comes in I will rip their heads off.”

“That’s…graphic.” She should say something else but his fingers were petting the seam of her panties. All thoughts fled her mind. He pulled the material to the side and went down to his knees. At the first swipe of his tongue she closed her eyes and moaned. “Oh my God. I need you.”

  “You’ll have me.”

He fucked her with his tongue until she screamed out with her release. She felt like melted honey, goo all over the place. He turned her over onto her stomach. She spread her legs and put her ass up in the air. He centered his cock at her entrance, then with a slow, smooth move he entered her inch by inch.

“Nothing feels as good as you do.”

She felt the beginnings of a new orgasm building. “Please, LemAN, harder.”

He growled as he began a hard and thorough pounding. She felt sweat on her back and his teeth at her neck. They moved together as one being.

“Mine!” LemAN released his seed deep inside her as he used his fingers to tease her clit and make her come again.

He sat down in a chair and carefully pulled her into his lap. “I needed that so much, beautiful.”

“Me, too. But you didn’t eat your food.”

“Well, I had to work up my appetite. Now I think I could eat three platters.”

She giggled. “We’ll start with these and if we’re still hungry, I’ll have someone get us more.”

He sighed, pressing his forehead to hers. “I don’t know if I’ll have time.”

“Eat this tray and some of mine. I won’t leave until you do.”

He smiled and kissed her on the lips. “So bossy.”

  “You know it.”

  *****

  An hour later

Lt. ComEY was escorting her back to the quarters she shared with LemAN when she said, “I forgot to ask him when we were going to be leaving to escort the Morinians through the wormhole. I made changes to my radio satellite program.”

  “We won’t be going.”

  “What?”

“I thought you knew. We’re letting the Morinians go through the wormhole alone in hopes of drawing out the Morins.”

“They’re going to be used as bait? They have no means to defend themselves.”

“Commander LemAN sent warships to remain hidden inside the Morinian docking bay. They’re not
completely defenseless.”

She felt a little better knowing that LemAN had thought of a way to defend the Morinians. She should have known he would. Now her new project was critical. “When are the Morinians expected to go through the wormhole?”

  “Less than an hour.”

That’s not a lot of time. “Can you help me?”

  “With what?”

“I think I have created a program that will help them, help all of us.”

  “What can I do?”

  Chapter 17

“Is the Morinian transport prepared to go through the wormhole?” LemAN asked.

“They are waiting for your instructions.”

The doors to the command bridge opened and Teagan came running in followed by Lt. ComEY. LemAN frowned. “Teagan, this isn’t the place for you to be right now.”

“Are we too late?” she asked, breathing heavy.

  “Too late for what?”

“Have you sent the Morinians through the wormhole yet?”

He glared at Lt. ComEY. “I was about to give them the go-ahead.”

“Wait!” Teagan pulled out her digital tablet and typed something on it.

  “What are you doing?”

“I modified my decloaking program. After reviewing the recording of the Morin attacks, I noticed that they have to decloak in order to attack.”

“Right. We don’t want to wait until that happens since the Morinian transport does not have means of protection.”

“The Morins can’t strike at them if they can’t see them.”

LemAN froze. “What do you mean?”

“I reversed the frequency for the decloaking program. Using the energy pulses from the wormhole, I believe I can cloak the Morinian transport right before it goes through the wormhole.”

Second Commander BorIS stepped forward. “That’s going to take precise timing. The Morinian transport won’t be able to withstand a direct hit.”

LemAN looked at Teagan. “How sure are you that you can do this?”
