Accidental Texting: Finding Love despite the Spotlight Page 18

by Kimberly Montague

He was right—I felt a lot better after a hot shower. Rummaging through my bag, I couldn't find a single sexy thing to put on so I opted for just leaving the towel on.

"Sweetie, there's a blow dryer mounted in the wall," he yelled from outside the door.

I didn't obsess over drying my hair perfectly straight, but I got it mostly dry before finally leaving the warmth of the bathroom. When I opened the door, I was greeted with candles and soft music. Sean was standing by the wall of windows looking out at the ocean. His hair was damp, and I used my excellent deductive reasoning skills to determine that there was another shower in the house. He wore boxer briefs—I liked a man in boxer briefs, especially this man—and no shirt. Memories of his chiseled chest on the plane made my breathing jump up a notch.

When he turned to look at me, I was so overwhelmed by the way his eyes lit up that I nearly tore off my towel right then and begged him to take me. Instead, I found some patience buried somewhere deep inside me and walked slowly to him. He picked up a glass of wine from a small table that sat between two large chairs facing the ocean and handed the glass to me. I sipped it slowly, feeling the warmth spread throughout me. We stood there watching the ocean for several minutes, and I tried to make the wine kick out my thoughts, but it wasn't working. I just kept obsessing over how many women he must have been with and how incredibly inexperienced I was in comparison.

When he touched his palm to my cheek, I realized he'd been watching me. He rubbed his thumb gently against my lower lip, making me notice that I was biting it again.

"What are you so worried about, love?"

I couldn't talk about this with him. I didn't want to be a skittish little girl. I just shook my head and pulled his head down to kiss me. When his lips touched mine, I tried to pull him close to me, wrapping my arms around his neck, but he shook his head and unclasped my hands.

  "Uh-uh. I wanna know what's bothering you."

I let out an exasperated sigh. "Nothing. Can't we just—uh—" I pointed to the bed.

  "No, talk to me."

I walked away from him and looked back at the pictures of me in the frame of the mirror. He followed me and wrapped his arms around my shoulders from behind. "Morgan, I need to know what's going on in that head of yours. I have a pretty good idea what it is, but I need you to talk to me. This won't work if you can't be honest with me."

Okay, he had a point there. And he already knew I wasn't too experienced, I mean I'd talked about my prior relationships and the fact that I could count them on one hand. "I just—you—you've been with a lot of women…"

"Yes, but I'm very careful, Morgan—very careful."

  "Okay, but—um—"

"I was tested just a few weeks ago, and I haven't been with anyone since I started talking to you a month ago."

"That's good and important. I just—"

"That's not what's bothering you?" I could feel myself biting my lip as I shook my head slowly. His eyes widened. "Wow—okay then maybe I don't know what's got you worried. Tell me, love."

I stared at our bare feet. His were huge compared to my size 8 feet. "Well, I just don't know—really not sure what you're… what are you expecting from me?"

He laughed once. "What am I expecting from you?"

"I mean—I'm not—the other girls you've been with—I've only—" I covered my face with my hand, and he pulled it away, tilting my chin up so he could see my face. "I've only ever been with four guys. I—I'm not that experienced. You've probably been with, you know?" There, I said it. I was waiting for a response, but he just started laughing. I could feel my whole face and neck turn bright red, and I tried to pull away from him, but he wrapped his arms around me and wouldn't let go.

After a few moments, he stopped laughing and kissed my forehead. "You are the craziest woman I have ever met in my life. Just when I think I have you all figured out, you say something completely ridiculous." He laughed again.

"Please stop laughing at me. It's not ridiculous."

He stopped immediately and put his hands on my cheeks. "Look at me, Morgan." I finally connected my eyes with his. "I love you. I'd love you if I was your first, and I'd love you if I was your hundredth. I'm not fucking you, Morgan, I'm gonna make love to you until we can't move anymore. And, for the record, I'm pretty confident in the fact that I'll die having only made love to two women in my life."

  "Prom girl?"

  He smiled. "Yes."

"Who's the second?" I needed to hear him say it.

  "You are, Morgan."

I smiled, and he wrapped his arms around me again, giving me a moment to calm down. But he'd settled my fears, and my patience was shot. I took his hand and pulled him toward the large, white, fluffy bed. I pushed him to sit down and stood between his legs as I pulled off the towel I was wearing.

"Jesus Christ, Morgan." His words were shaky as his eyes took in my entire body. I could feel the blush following everywhere his eyes went. When he finally reached out to run his fingers across the skin of my thighs, I thought they were on fire. Everywhere he touched, he lit a blazing path of desire. He reached up and tangled his hand in my hair, pulling my lips to his. Our tongues battled each other for who could feel the most. As his hands roamed across my body, they came closer to where I really wanted them and sent all the blood in my body rushing there.

"God, Morgan, you're so damn hot."

I couldn't get my legs to stop shaking. Finally, it got so bad that I had to sit down, but I chose to do so by pushing Sean back. I pulled his boxer briefs off his body and straddled his hips, feeling my skin connect with his. The intensity of it took me by surprise, and I fell forward, trying to recover from the quivering mass of overly intensified nerve endings that I was. Everything felt erotic and so strong. He rolled us over so that he was on top and kissed a path down my neck to my breasts. I arched my back and moaned so loudly, I only hoped the glass walls were thick enough to block the sound.

When all I could do was clutch at his shoulders, he took his mouth away from my breast and continued the path down. I tried to pull him back up to me, but he didn't budge.

He pressed slow kisses to every sensitive spot he could until I was screaming his name and begging, "Sean—Please?"

He growled low and deep and finally moved back up my body, kissing a path all the way up to my lips. We kissed, and he slid against me over and over again, driving me crazy. When I reached down to put him where I really wanted him, he shook his head. "Wait Morgan." He reached over to the nightstand and pulled out a silver package. Sitting up, he stared at the package like he was concentrating really hard. He had his fingers on the edges to tear it open, but he didn't move. "Shit, I'm always careful—I've never had to talk myself into it before." He shook his head and tore open the package, but I put my hand on his.

"I'm on birth control, Sean. And I don't have—I'm clean."

His eyes looked to mine, hopefully. "I don't wanna do anything that makes you uncomfortable, Morgan. I don't want you to regret—"

"I want to feel you—no barriers. Please?" I couldn't keep the moan out of my voice. I wanted him too freaking badly and even though I wasn't completely sure about trusting him with me heart, I trusted that he wouldn't lie to me, and he already explained how careful he was with the other women he'd been with.

He threw the condom to the side and kissed me again, delving his tongue into my mouth possessively. His groan was incredible as we joined. It shook my chest and made me squirm underneath him, pushing him a little deeper. He kept his eyes on mine as his arms trembled a little. "Oh God, Morgan."

He was going too slowly, so I put my hands on his butt and pulled. He groaned, and I smiled, feeling the same beyond-words sensations.

"You feel so incredible, Morgan." He breathed out roughly.

He was going too slow. "Sean—more—"

He shook his head. "I can't—"

"Please," I begged, needing and wanting him more than I could ever remember wanting anyone before.

"You're gonna be the death of me." He squeezed his eyes shut and gave me what I asked for. I screamed his name again. Tears were forming in my eyes at the intense pressure building, but after a few minutes, he pulled away from me and rolled to the side, shaking his head.

I climbed on top of him, and he pushed his head farther back into the pillow as his fingers bit into my hips. "Shit, Morgan. I'm not a robot, sweetie. I need to calm down a minute or this is gonna be over way too fast."

I smiled at him and wiggled my hips.

"Morgan," he warned, but I didn't care if it was fast, I was enjoying seeing him squirm. "God, you're turning me into a sixteen-year-old again." I swirled my hips and lifted my body, and he squeezed his eyes shut. "Ohh, don't stop."

I stopped moving and smiled. "You want me to stop?"

"You're teasing me?" He raised his eyebrow at me, and I smiled in response. He nodded. "Okay then." His fingers moved from my hip to swirl around the one spot that he knew would make me crazy.

I gripped his shoulders and moaned loudly, but he took his hand away quickly. I opened my eyes and stared down at him, but he was smirking at me. "I can tease too, sweetie." Scowling at him, I lifted my hips again and again. His fingers returned to drive me very quickly to the edge. I couldn't stop if I'd wanted to and by the look on his face, he didn't want me to.

"Morgan!" His jaw was clenched so tight. "I can't hold back."

That was enough to send me over the edge, exploding into little tiny pieces, but when he rolled us over and moved roughly against me, I yelled his name, unable to handle the feeling of gripping onto him so tightly. His movements got faster until he was moaning my name, and he pushed one last time before the only sounds left were heavy breaths and gasps between us.

He collapsed against me, and I loved the weight of him and riding out the waves with him. It was as perfect as it could get.

I awoke with a start to a song blasting into my happy dreams. Sean immediately put his arms around me and whispered in my ear. "It's Rudy waking us up."

I groaned. "We just went to sleep."

His laughter was proud and deep. "I know."

The whole room must have been set up with speakers because the music was coming from everywhere around us. I felt like I was in a theater.

"Your sister will be here in thirty minutes," a strange voice said over the intercom.

Sean leaned away from me toward the nightstand, reaching his hand out. "Thanks, Rudy. You can turn the music off now."

"I could put on some Marvin Gaye if you'd prefer." There was laughing in the background.

Sean reached his arm out again. "Just because I won't come down there and kick your ass right now, doesn't mean I won't do it later." The laughter in his voice was friendly. I liked how he was around his friends—relaxed and just, well, he was the Sean I'd met on the phone.

The music stopped, and Sean tightened his arms around me, brushing his nose against my neck. "You think thirty minutes is enough time?" he whispered in my ear.

"Not if that last round is any indication." I laughed and stretched a little. "Ugh—I'm so tired still. How am I supposed to look decent when I've had like two hours of sleep?"

"I don't remember waking you up that last time, love."

I rolled away from him onto my side and pulled the covers over my eyes. That last time was my doing, and I blushed remembering it.

He kissed my back and pulled the covers away from my face, leaning up over me. "You can go back to sleep for a while. She'll be grilling me for a few hours anyway. She barely knows anything about you."

I turned over and stroked his cheek with my hand. "What does she know?"

He laughed. "Pretty much your name did it." I raised my eyebrow at him, and he ran his hands up and down my body. "I don't tell my family about women. I talked to her on the phone after telling my parents and—"

"You told your parents about me?"

"Yes, of course. I'm actually really close to my family—well except for Mel's douchebag husband, Brent."

My eyes widened and I stopped smiling at the mention of his name. It was absurd to think it, but I worried he might be my Brent, and that made me so nauseous and scared. "Brent?"

He kissed me softly. "No relation to your Brent—I checked." I breathed again, and he pushed a piece of hair back off my face. "I told her there was a girl, and she got really quiet—Mel doesn't do quiet, by the way. She's loud and opinionated and funny, except around Brent." The way he spit out Brent's name only reinforced the information I'd been given about his feelings for his brother-in-law—he really didn't like him. "Anyway, she got quiet, and I said, 'Her name is Morgan.' She asked me what time the flight would be leaving."

I wrinkled my forehead, not sure what he meant by that.

His smile was so tender. "She thought I would bring her to you immediately—she still doesn't know the whole situation. When Stewie called her yesterday, she wanted to fly out earlier. But she already had the plane ticket to be here for the premiere, and I wanted some time alone with you, so I made her keep her flight."

"Do you think she'll like me?"

"I think she already loves you." He sat up and stretched.

"But you said she only knows my name."

He grinned and looked away. "She knows me really well, love. She heard more than just your name in my voice."

"Oh really? What else did she hear?"

He turned back to me, covering me with his upper body. "Are we fishing for compliments?"

"Maybe I just wanna hear you say it again."

  "Hmmm. I know the feeling."

I looked away from him, and he kissed my nose. I was certainly falling for him, but there was so much I still felt in the dark about. There was too much uncertainty to just give my heart over to the man.

"She heard that I was a total goner for you. She heard her little brother practically gushing. Angels sang, light shined from my mouth—"

I tickled him and was surprised to find that he was, in fact, very ticklish. His laugh was like angels singing. When he grabbed my arms and held them above my head, I was forced to stop. When he held both of my wrists in one hand, I was forced to be afraid.

"Now who's got the upper hand? Let's see if you're ticklish, hmm?"

  "I'm not," I lied.

"You'd never make it as an actress, sweetheart. Besides, I found several of your ticklish spots last night. Shall I test them out?"

"Your sister will be here soon," I reminded him hopefully. "Shouldn't you shower?"

"She can wait. She and Rudy used to go out. He'll keep her entertained plenty while I give you that attention you were craving a moment ago."

"If you do that, I will seriously not be able to walk today."

"Trapped in bed all day? I kind of like the sound of that. In fact, I love the sounds you make." He sucked on my neck in the exact spot that made me insane. He was certainly a quick learner when it came to my body.

"Sean?" Rudy's voice came across on the intercom. "Sean, it's important."

He growled and pulled away from me. Now that I was fully awake, I could see the button built into the side of his nightstand as he pushed it.

  "Yeah."

"Sorry, man. I just found out—your dad's with Mel."

"Aw hell." He fell back against the pillows.

"Your dad?" I squeaked. It was bad enough to be meeting his sister and making our first appearance together in public at a Hollywood premiere no less and now I was meeting his dad for the first time, too.

"Uh," Rudy's voice was much quieter. "Sean? Your mom's with them."

"Shit!" He hit the button. "Get Stewie here now! And you two be ready to run interference."

"Interference?" I rolled over onto his chest. "Interference? You sound worried. I thought—don't you like your parents?"

He wrapped his arms around me. "I love my parents, sweetie. I really do. And you will too, but—they're gonna make this a lot more complicated a hell of a lot faster than I want
ed."

"Will they—" I swallowed hard. "Do you think they'll disapprove—of me?"

"No—no—not at all. It's nothing like that. My mom will—it's just gonna be complicated. I'm sorry, Morgan. I didn't want to throw all this at you at once. I—they can be pushy and my mom won't approve of the, uh, well, the situation I got myself into."

"Is this about what you and Stewie were talking about? The contract?"

He pulled me to the side of him and looked at my face. "How much of that did you understand?" He seemed even more worried.

I shrugged. "It'd be nice if I understood all of it, Sean."

He climbed out of bed and pulled on his boxers, pacing in front of the bed as he rubbed his head. "Um, I'm just gonna be honest here, Morgan. I don't want to tell you."

I huffed. "Okay." Gee, I hadn't heard that before.

His hand dropped, and he crawled back on the bed to sit in front of me. "I hate that word. I can't stand when you say it like that."

"What am I supposed to say, Sean?" I was pissed now and spit the words out at him.

"You know, you make me feel about two feet tall when you say my name like that?"

I threw the covers off the bed. How dare he lecture me about the way I was speaking to him. If he was going to be this—I don't know—righteous, then this was so not going to work. I found my underwear and pulled them on, reaching for my jeans.

"What are you doing?" He seemed surprised.

I was mad, and I felt too vulnerable to stay naked in bed with him. "I don't know what you expect from me, Se—" I breathed out drastically, feeling my nostrils flare.

"Just come here." He held his hand out to me. "Morgan, please."

I walked back over to him and glared.

"I didn't mean it like that. I meant—it's just that no one talks to me like that except my family and friends and they're just—they've always been in my life. You're the only one that I haven't known since before I was famous that has spoken to me like—like I'm—I don't know—like I really fucked up and you're calling me on it. Well, the first that I actually cared about anyway. It feels—you scare me. Disappointing you scares me."
