  Dedication

  To my Sofie-Pie,

  My little, sassy, curvy girl.

  Don’t ever stop being you.

  Chapter 1

Fury rolled through Arianna as she threw her BMW into park and stormed into Lakeridge Tavern. She needed a drink—maybe a whole damned bottle—to drown out her self-disgust.

Once again, she let Derrick suck her back into his bullshit. She stupidly thought he might actually be changing. At least Derrick’s betrayal didn’t hurt this time. Instead, she was so pissed off she was about to blow a gasket.

The worst part? She knew better. Same damned story, but she couldn’t shut the fucking book. Until now. There was no way in hell she would ever take him back again.

They’d dated their senior year in high school, through the first year of college, and then broke up. He kept coming around when she moved back to town. They’d been together on and off for years, but it was never the same.

She’d dumped him six months earlier and hadn’t caved until a couple weeks before when he changed his tune. He’d been so sweet, actually trying for the first time in so long things seemed different. Then she caught him balls deep in another woman. That was the last time she fell for his shit.

Ignoring everyone in the bar, she took a seat at the counter and waved Jake over. They’d been friends since high school.

He strode her way with a devilish smirk. “What has you all riled up?”

Her eyes narrowed. “My own stupidity,” she hissed. “I need a double shot of Crown.”

Placing the glass in front of her, he poured heavy and waited.

She slammed it back, and he filled it again.

“What did he do this time?”

Her lip curled in a sneer. “Don’t. I’m not in the mood.”

The phone buzzed and she opened the text from Derrick.

  Where are you, baby?

She tapped out, I’d tell you to go fuck yourself, but you just had your dick in some skank.

Asshole came back with, Aw, babe, it’s not what it seems.

A snarl escaped. Oh, my bad, you fell and it slipped in? It was an accident? You didn’t mean to?

Another buzz. Don’t be like that, baby. I was wrong.

Arianna sent one last response. No, I was wrong to take you back. It’s over. She shut off her phone and shoved it back in her purse.

She looked up to find Jake leaning over the bar. He’d been reading her messages.

He shook his head as he met her gaze. “Why do you let that asshole sweet-talk you?”

“Beginning to think he has a magic dick because it seems to hypnotize me into doing stupid shit every damned time he starts sniffing around.” She threw back the second drink. “Never again.”

Jake filled the glass once more. “Hope you mean it this time.”

Trent dropped into the seat next to Isandro, nudging his shoulder. “Hey, Bulldog, go over there. Now’s your chance.”

Isandro couldn’t tear his eyes from the woman he’d wanted for as long as he could remember. Every time he got the nerve to pursue, she took Derrick back, or dated someone else. Shaking his head, he rubbed a hand over his short hair. “You were with her. Makes things too weird for me.”

“Shit, that was a few years back, and it was brief.” Trent smiled over at Ella, his fiancée. “And does it look like I want Arianna back?” Trent asked in all seriousness.

“No, but you were still with Arianna for a time,” he muttered.

Trent rolled his eyes. “We dated—briefly.”

“Can’t tell me you didn’t fuck her.”

Anger flashed through his eyes as he leaned over with a harsh whisper. “So what? I have no claim on her. Besides, I found my woman.”

“I don’t do my friends’ exes.”

Trent shoved him. “It will only be weird if you make it weird. Go get her. Looks like she could use someone to take her mind off Derrick.”

Isandro gripped the table and gritted his teeth. “Why do you say that?”

Trent snorted. “Saw her out with him the other night. The woman need
s a real man who will treat her right.”

One question swirled through Isandro’s head. “Why didn’t you two work out?”

Trent smirked, looking over at Ella, who bent over the pool table to line up a shot. “All spark, no fire. Besides, I couldn’t handle the way Arianna drinks.”

Isandro tipped his head to Trent. “She drinks too much?”

“No. That’s my own personal issue. She’s not a drunk.”

Isandro nodded his understanding. Trent’s sister and father both had problems with alcohol. Dumbass almost lost Ella when he jumped to conclusions about her drinking habits, which were nonexistent.

Trent thumped his hand on the table, breaking into Isandro’s thoughts. “You’ve wanted Arianna forever. Forget the fact I have history with her.”

From the first day of high school, Isandro had crushed on Arianna. By the time he got the guts to go after her, Derrick had already asked her out. Besides, she’d always been popular and hung out with all the pretty boys with money.

Isandro fit into neither category. His parents—shit, it was a miracle he hadn’t become a social pariah. He gave Arianna a longing look. “She’ll never choose me.”

  “Why the hell not?”

  “She goes for pretty boys.”

Trent snorted. “Please, she does not. She needs someone like you.”

Isandro watched Arianna slam another drink back and turned to Trent. “You sure she doesn’t have a problem?”

“Not usually. I’m guessing that asshole hurt her again. So go over there and help her forget the prick.”

Isandro drank the rest of his beer and set the bottle down before making his way to the bar.

Taking a seat beside Arianna, he took a slow breath and caught her attention. “Want to talk about it?”

She turned to him, her green eyes deepening as she took him in. A slow smile spread on her face. “Nope. I want to dance.” Arianna stood and grabbed his waistband, pulling him toward the floor.

She’d missed his hard dick by millimeters. Gulping his surprise, Isandro followed, curling his hands around her waist and pulling her close.

Arianna closed the last of the distance, looking up into his eyes. Her fingers wrapped around the back of his head as her other hand skated up his abs, his skin tingling at her touch. Rising up on her toes, her soft curves pressed into his body as she nipped his bottom lip.

Hungry for her taste, he sucked her tongue into his mouth when she licked the sting of her bite. Her moan encouraged him to deepen the kiss.

When she finally broke away, she tugged him toward the door. “Take me home.”

“Yours or mine?” he asked in a gravelly voice.

“Mine. You drive, though. I can get my car in the morning.”

Isandro followed her as she rushed outside. He caught her hand, leading her toward his truck.

He opened the door, and she stepped closer. Grinning, Isandro wrapped his hands around her waist and lifted her into the truck.

“Hmm, so strong,” she murmured, pulling his head closer to take another kiss. “Tastes so good,” she purred, pushing him back. “Drive.”

He didn’t need to be told twice. He shut the door and went around to start the truck.

  “Where?” he asked.

She gave him the address. Fancy part of town. Ignoring the niggling suspicion this was a bad idea, he drove.

He glanced over. “Why the bad mood when you first showed up?”

  “Does it matter?”

Was this a revenge hookup? He had to know. “Tell me you aren’t still with Derrick and I’ll drop it.”

She shook her head. “Nope. Learned my lesson. I’m done with him.”

  “Good enough for me.”

Leaning over, she caressed his thigh, heading for the uncomfortable bulge. He caught her hand with a smirk.

“Hold on, Arianna. You start and we’re not making it home.”

“Does that mean you want me half as bad as I want you?”

Shit, he’d wanted her since the ninth grade but never thought he’d have a chance. “More.”

She sat back, and he stole a glance in her direction. “I don’t believe that for a second.”

  He snorted. “Why not?”

“You’ve never come onto me before.”

Isandro stared at the road. “You never seemed interested.”

“Only go for a sure thing?” she asked with bite.

He shook his head and sighed. “You don’t remember, do you?”

  “Remember what?”

  “You turned me down once.”

  Her eyes widened. “When?”

  “High school. Homecoming. Senior year.”

She was silent a long moment, and he took another peek.

Her mouth popped open. “Because of Derrick? Shit. He’d asked me the week before.”

“Yeah, always a little too late,” he muttered and pulled into her complex.

“Perfect timing tonight.” She pointed at an empty spot. “Park there, on the right.”

He did and looked over without shutting off the engine. Doubt crept up, but he stomped it down.

“You’re still coming.” It wasn’t a question. She climbed out of the truck.

Sucking in a breath, he followed a few seconds behind. By the time he caught up, she had the door open. Arianna turned to him, grabbing his waistband again, and dragged him inside.

Her red lips curved into a smile. “Time to make up for my mistake.”

He chuckled. “No need. Rather have you now than when we were kids.” He didn’t want to stumble around awkwardly. He wanted to feast on her, then worship her long and hard enough she never wanted anyone else.

  * * * *

Isandro’s words seared Arianna. He desired her now, full figure and all. Not the tight little body she once had. Each of Derrick’s insults burned up in the heat of Isandro’s gaze.

She led him to her room with the grip she’d kept on his waistband. A smirk formed on her lips as she looked down to see the size of the bulge behind his fly. She wanted to wrap her lips around his cock.

He pulled her shirt up as she got his belt open before lifting her arms. Hungry eyes traveled over her body as his big hands caressed down her arms before sliding around her ribs to rid her of the bra keeping her overly generous breasts in place.

Trying to push her insecurities to the bottom of her mind, she swallowed hard and went to work on unbuttoning his jeans. Isandro looked at her with a hunger she missed in Derrick’s eyes. For the moment, she’d enjoy the attention Isandro paid.

He hummed low in his throat as he cupped her breasts and bent to tease one nipple with his tongue.

“Fucking gorgeous,” he purred before closing his lips around her sensitive bud.

Sensation flowed through her like a current, tripping every nerve. One hand caressed down her body and unzipped her skirt, letting it fall around her feet.

He took a step back. She closed her eyes, bracing for the words of disgust.

“So damned beautiful. Come here, gorgeous.”

Blinking her eyes open, she watched him in astonishment. The desire staring back stole her breath. Arianna bit her bottom lip and shook her head slowly. “I want to see you first.”

A smirk formed on his full lips as he reached behind his neck with one hand and pulled the shirt from his body.

Hard, chiseled muscle, brown skin. A tattoo of a bulldog on his left pectoral. She’d heard some of the firemen call him Bulldog. Maybe later she’d ask why, but she was more fascinated by the barbells in his nipples.

Isandro pushed his pants down with the boxers, releasing his heavy cock. Christ, the man was sculpted perfection, and she couldn’t help staring at the ring at the tip of his dick. Piercings, tattoos, and damn, the man was built…and hung.

Why haven’t I paid more attention to Isandro before tonight?

She saw him every few days when he came into her shop, Sweet Tooth, to buy chocolate. He tended to flirt, but didn’t everyone?
Somehow, she hadn’t realized he might actually want her, and judging by the impressive hard-on, he certainly did.

“Look enough, yet?” he teased as he kicked away his clothes.

“Wow, when did you get so damned hot?”

His brow wrinkled as he looked down at himself. “Really?”

“Mmhmm, makes a girl tongue-tied just looking at you.”

“Don’t care about other girls. I want the woman standing in front of me.” He smirked, meeting her gaze. His dark eyes drew her in, pulling her closer.

His hands curled around her hips as his mouth descended on hers. He backed her toward the bed and dropped to his knees as he pulled her lacy panties down her hips.

“You smell so damned sweet,” he purred, pushing her onto the edge of the mattress and spreading her legs.

Sweet? Did he refer to my scent as sweet?

His tongue swept through her slick folds and her head fell back on a moan. He lit her senses up in an instant inferno.

“Scrumptious,” he purred. Then he blew a breath across her clit, and she whimpered, needing more but unable to find words.

One finger slipped into her, then another. He pumped into her in a sensual rhythm that brought her over the edge in a rush of passion she couldn’t contain. He hummed while lapping at her juices.

Her vision blurred as she collapsed on the bed while he licked and sucked at her clit, drawing out the pleasure that left her floating on a sea of bliss.

Derrick had never, ever, ever made her come that hard. Not once. All she could think was, I’ve been missing out all these years.

“My favorite new treat,” Isandro purred against her ear as he laid his body over hers. His warmth flooded her senses, pulling her desire to the forefront.

She blinked, locking her eyes on his dark ones. No response formed.

Isandro licked his full lips that curved into a delicious, damp smile before sucking her bottom lip between his.
