The first show after the big Lords of the Ring contest between Ric Flair and Dusty Rhodes was main evented by Blackjack Mulligan defeating Kevin Sullivan, the same result as a day later in a match that took place inside a steel cage…on the 3rd, Barry Windham defeated Dick Slater in a Bunkhouse match, though Slater returned the favour in a Taped Fist match on the 7th, a show that saw a Hangman’s Noose victory for Blackjack Mulligan over Kevin Sullivan…Barry Windham would take this mini-series 2-1 with an I Quit match victory over Dick Slater the following evening…an elimination match was the main event on the 10th as Blackjack Mulligan, Barry Windham and Joe Lightfoot defeated Kevin Sullivan, Black Bart and Ron Bass…Dusty Rhodes teamed with One Man Gang to defeat Billy Graham and Ron Bass on the 15th (a match repeated on the 21st), thought Graham would then defeat Rhodes in Miami three days later…Dusty Rhodes would get a shot at the Florida Heavyweight Title in Tampa, defeating Billy Graham by disqualification, whilst Billy Jack would see a similar finish to his title match on the 28th…Billy Graham finally would lose the belt the next night to Scott McGhee, though the main event was a no contest for the NWA World Heavyweight Title between Ric Flair and Barry Windham…Dusty Rhodes would get a title shot the following night, defeating Ric Flair by disqualification.

Ric Flair continued his tour of Florida, beating Billy Jack and Dusty Rhodes by disqualification…a Hangman’s Noose match on the 5th between Blackjack Mulligan and Kevin Sullivan somehow ended in a double disqualification…One Man Gang and Blackjack Mulligan won a Loser Leaves Town Steel Cage match against Ron Bass and Black Bart a day later…Florida’s propensity for weird gimmick matches led to a ‘Bar Room Tangle’ that saw Billy Jack and Blackjack Mulligan beat Kevin Sullivan and Billy Graham…Scott McGhee defeated Kevin Sullivan in a Cage match two nights running on the 14th and 15th…a Double Bull Rope Chain Match in West Palm Beach saw Billy Jack team with Pez Whatley to defeat Billy Graham and Kevin Sullivan…Pez Whatley won the NWA Southern Heavyweight Title (Florida version) off of Jim Neidhart on the 25th…a show at the Sun Dome saw a main event victory for the One Man Gang against the Saint in a Lights Out No Disqualification Chain Match.
September
On the 3rd of the month, Mike Graham won a Loser Leaves Town versus Mask match against the Texas Outlaw by countout…a Combination Bull Rope and Chain match saw One Man Gang and Pez Whatley defeat Kevin Sullivan and Billy Graham…Jimmy Valiant turned up for two shows, teaming with Pez Whatley to defeat Kevin Sullivan and Billy Graham in a Bunkhouse match, before winning a Lights Out Streetfight versus Sullivan two days later…a return to West Palm Beach was headlined by Kevin Sullivan’s victory over Pez Whatley in a Hangman’s Noose match…The Rock and Roll Express defeated The Road Warriors on a show headlined by Ric Flair defeating Dusty Rhodes in an NWA World Heavyweight Title Match by countout on the 22nd….Ric Flair’s tour this time would also see him face Scott McGhee and Billy Jack, with the latter picking up a disqualification victory on the 25th…the main event of the previous night’s show saw a double disqualification outcome as Dick Slater fought Harley Race…Billy Graham defeated Kevin Sullivan in the main event of the last show of the month.

Ronnie Garvin wins the NWA World Television Title (Georgia version) against Jake Roberts, whilst The Spoiler defeats Brad Armstrong for the NWA National Heavyweight Title in two title matches on the opening Omni show of the month…three days later, Ronnie Garvin and Jerry Oates won the NWA World Tag Team Titles (Georgia version) off of the Road Warriors…Ronnie Garvin, Brad Armstrong and Garvin again main evented a three show stretch with disqualification victories over the Spoiler…on the final show for the original Georgia Championship Wrestling brand, Tim Horner won a Battle Royal to close out the show.

The first show with results from the new Championship Wrestling from Georgia (5th) is main evented by Ted Dibiase defeating Brad Armstrong, with Tim Horner winning an opening match Battle Royal…Ronnie Garvin would beat Ted Dibiase six days later in a Steel Cage match in Macon…Ronnie Garvin defeated Jake Roberts for the NWA World Television Title (Georgia version) in a Lumberjack match in Baltimore on the 18th, whilst the same gimmick with a Canadian twist main evented a show at the Omni three days later, as Bob Armstrong defeated Ted Dibiase…Nick Patrick defeated Bob Roop in a Lights Out match on the 25th.
September
Ronnie Garvin went to a double disqualification with Ted Dibiase on the first of the month, before winning a strap match against the same opponent three days later…the Omni show on the 9th was stacked – Bob Armstrong won an Indian Strap match against Ted Dibiase by disqualification, Ronnie Garvin beat Jake Roberts in a Cage match, and the trio of The Masked Superstar, Stan Hansen and Dusty Rhodes fought in round robin match…Ole Anderson teamed with Ronnie Garvin to win a Georgia Street Fight against Bob Roop and Kareem Muhammad in the middle of the month…Bob Roop won two matches in Macon on the 18th, a Taped Fist affair against Ole Anderson and a Lights Out match against Nick Patrick…to close out the month, Ole Anderson and Ronnie Garvin beat Ted Dibiase and Bob Roop twice, the first in a Georgia Street Fight (28th) and the second in a Cage match (30th).

Tully Blanchard defeated Ric Flair by disqualification on the same night that Flair would go on to defend the NWA World Heavyweight Title against Wahoo McDaniel…the following day, Jimmy Valiant and Tully Blanchard would go to a no contest…Ric Flair continued to defend the title against Wahoo McDaniel on several other shows, with the show on the 4th also including a win for the team of Jimmy Valiant, Rufus R. Jones and Adrian Street against Kamala, Assassin #1 and Assassin #3…Ivan Koloff and Don Kernodle would defend the NWA World Tag Team Titles against Mark Youngblood and the Renegade, just as Ric Flair would do against Ricky Steamboat in the main event…Gene and Ole Anderson would defeat the NWA World Tag Team Champions on the 8th, but only by disqualification…a show on the 13th was main evented by Dusty Rhodes defeating Buzz Sawyer…The Renegade and Pez Whatley won a Lumberjack match against Ivan Koloff and Don Kernodle in Greenville three days later, a result repeated in Raleigh on the 17th…Angelo Mosca Jr. defeated The Outlaw in a Whip match…The Junkyard Dog teamed with the Renegade and Mark Youngblood to defeat The Koloffs and Don Kernodle on the 23rd...Dusty Rhodes teamed with Jimmy Valiant to beat Assassin #1 and #3 in the main event of a show in Hampton…Ricky Steamboat beat Tully Blanchard by disqualification the following evening…The Junkyard Dog fought Buzz Sawyer to a double disqualification on the 29th…Jimmy Valiant won a Lumberjack match against the Assassin to close out the month.

In Richmond, Jimmy Valiant would team with Ricky Steamboat in a victory (by disqualification) over Wahoo McDaniel and Tully Blanchard…McDaniel defeated Steamboat the following night in Greensboro in a contest that went over twenty minutes…Ric Flair teamed with Ricky Steamboat to defeated Tully Blanchard and Wahoo McDaniel on the 5th…Ric Flair continued to defend his NWA World Heavyweight Title successfully against Wahoo McDaniel, though often by disqualification…the Assassin defeated Jimmy Valiant in a number of Taped Fist matches in the middle of the month…Blackjack Mulligan teamed with Dusty Rhodes and went to a no contest against Wahoo McDaniel and Tully Blanchard on the 19th, before multiple no contests against McDaniel followed…Jimmy Valiant would get a win back against the Assassin #1 in a New York Street Fight on the 21st, as well as a singles match two days later…Don Kernodle and Ivan Koloff defended the tag titles in a No Disqualification Two out of Three Falls match against Mark Youngblood and the Renegade…Barry Windham challenged Tully Blanchard for the Television Title on the 28th, only for the match to end in a no contest.

a no contest…Dusty Rhodes and Ricky Steamboat defeated Wahoo McDaniel and Tully Blanchard two days on the bounce…on the 9th, Barry Windham defeated Wahoo McDaniel in a Texas Death match…Dusty Rhodes teamed with Barry Windham in a disqualification victory over Don Kernodle and Ivan Koloff in Asheville…Jimmy Valiant won New York Street Fights, the Assassin won Taped Fist matches…Ricky Steamboat was unable to defeated Tully Blanchard in either Richmond or Greensboro as both matches ended without a winner…the promotion closed out the month with a card headlined by a Rick Flair and Dusty Rhodes victory over Wahoo McDaniel and Tully Blanchard.

Many shows from this time period don’t have full results, but often include The Midnight Express versus the Rock and Roll Express up until the Rock and Rolls lost a Loser Leaves Town Cage match on the 7th…with the Rock and Roll Express gone (after a losing effort on the 14th), Terry Taylor and Magnum TA would team together in a win against the Midnights on the 13th…the 21st had The PYT Express defeat the Midnights on a show headlined by Jim Duggan beating Ted Dibiase…Jim Duggan would team with the Fantastics to defeat the Midnights and Jim Cornette four times before the end of the month, whilst the PYT Express would get in on the action once…Magnum TA scored wins over Butch Reed and Ernie Ladd to close out the month.
August
The Fantastics take over from the Rock and Roll Express as the go to team for trading wins with the Midnight Express…no result is available, but Butch Reed and the Junkyard Dog met in a No Disqualification Dog Collar match on the 10th…two days later, Butch Reed and Hercules Hernandez would defeat Jim Duggan and Terry Taylor…Magnum TA defeated Butch Reed by disqualification on the 21st…The Midnight Express earned a huge victory a day later as they beat Magnum TA and Jim Duggan…Jim Duggan, Sonny King and Terry Taylor won an Elimination match against Hercules Hernandez, Butch Reed and Steve Williams…a Superdome show from Louisiana was headlined by Kerry Von Erich and Ric Flair going to a double disqualification, before a Von Erich loss and a no contest in the next two shows…a Hospital Elimination Match saw the same result as the Elimination match from earlier in the month as the face team defeated the heels…Jim Duggan beat Hercules Hernandez in a Coal Miner’s Glove match on the 30th.

A repeat of the Duggan/Hernandez Coal Miner’s Glove match headlined the first show of the month with the same result, a match that would do the rounds throughout the month alongside the Midnights and the Fantastics…Jim Duggan, Sonny King and Jose Lothario would defeat Hercules Hernandez, Butch Reed and Ernie Ladd in Beaumont…a match dubbed a ‘Bounty match’ saw Jim Duggan go to a double countout with Steve Williams…The Midnights defended the Mid-South Tag Team Titles in a No Disqualification match against The Fantastics on the 20th, with this result – if not the stipulation – repeated several times to finish the month…Magnum TA and Jim Duggan fought each other on the 27th, but no result is available.

The big Independence Day Star Wars show saw a Loser Leaves Town Cage match won by Chris Adams and Stella Mae French as they vanquished Jimmy Garvin and Precious…Kevin Von Erich beat Michael Hayes in a lumberjack match on a show that also saw Chris Adams beat Terry Gordy by disqualification in only six seconds…the Loser Leaves Town Cage match was repeated on the 22nd in San Antonio, whilst Kerry Von Erich went to a time limit draw with Ric Flair…Ric Flair defeated Gino Hernandez the following night…Kerry and Mike Von Erich won a lumberjack match against Terry Gordy and Buddy Roberts, whilst Roberts then went on to lose to David Manning in the next match.

Killer Khan went to a time limit draw with Michael Hayes in Fort Worth on the 6th…Mike Von Erich defeated Gino Hernandez on the 11th…Jake Roberts won the WCCW Television Title from Chris Adams on a show that saw Buddy Roberts draw with David Manning…a show in Lawton on the 15th had three of its five matches go to time limit draws (George Weingeroff/Kelly Kiniski, Roberts/Manning, Killer Khan/Terry Gordy)… a Dallas TV taping closed with the ongoing Manning versus Roberts feud, though this time with the referee winning a boxing match.

The Labor Day Star Wars saw Chris Adams and Gino Hernandez regain the WCCW Television Title and American Heavyweight Title against Jake Roberts and Mike Von Erich respectively…on the same card, Killer Khan beat Terry Gordy in a Spike match and a Handicap Elimination match main event saw Kerry and Kevin Von Erich overcome the odds to beat all three Freebirds..Buck Zumhofe and Jake Roberts went to a twenty minute time limit draw in Dallas on the 14th…Ric Flair beat Chris Adams in the main event of a show held three days later…the following week, Victor the Wrestling Bear would beat Gino Hernandez by disqualification, whilst Gary Hart beat Skandor Akbar on the same card…Victor would also beat the Missing Link by disqualification on the 28th…Magnum TA defeated Butch Reed on a card that also saw Gino Hernandez and Andrea go to a no contest with Kevin Von Erich and Stella Mae French

The month starts with a Sacramento show that sees Jesse Ventura defeat Sergeant Slaughter by countout…the following day, Andre the Giant defeated Greg Valentine in Glens Falls…an increasingly rare Bob Backlund appearance saw him defeat the Iron Sheik by disqualification on the 5th, before failing to win the WWF Tag Team Titles whilst teaming with B. Brian Blair against Dick Murdoch and Adrian Adonis two days later…Hulk Hogan and Big John Studd went to a double countout in the main event of a show in Chicago on the 13th…the following day, Sergeant Slaughter beat the Iron Sheik in a Cage match…Hulk Hogan and Andre the Giant would team up in New Jersey to defeat Adrian Adonis, Dick Murdoch and Big John Studd…Hulk Hogan and Tito Santana would lose to Paul Orndorff and Bob Orton Jr. by disqualification and countout respectively in the two big matches in Pittsburgh on the 20th… Jimmy Snuka beat Roddy Piper in a Fijian Strap match on the same show as Andre the Giant went fifteen minutes in defeating Big John Studd…The Brawl To End It All not only saw Wendi Richter beat the Fabulous Moolah for the WWF Women’s Title, it also saw Antonio Inoki win a twenty man battle royal…Roddy Piper teamed with Dick Murdoch and Adrian Adonis to defeat the Wild Samoans and Jimmy Snuka on the 27th…with only eighteen men this time, Andre the Giant won a battle royal in Salt Lake City and one in Phoenix.

A show in Ogdensburg had Bob Backlund go nearly fifteen minutes in defeating Rene Goulet…the other group of wrestlers were in Utica, headlined by a Roddy Piper countout win over Jimmy Snuka…Lou Albano would referee a victory for Dick Murdoch and Adrian Adonis over the Wild Samoans on the 4th at the Boston Gardens…Andre the Giant beat Kamala by countout on a show that saw Adonis and Murdoch lose by disqualification to Tony Garea and S.D. Jones..Hulk Hogan defended his WWF World Heavyweight Title against Greg Valentine in Toronto…he also defended the title on the 11th against Big John Studd, taking just over five minutes in victory…Ivan Putski defeated Jesse Ventura by countout in the last match on an Ohio show mid-month…Hulk Hogan continued to feud with both Big John Studd and Paul Orndorff, whilst the Wild Samoans were perennial tag team title challengers…Tito Santana defeated Bob Orton Jr. on the 19th to retain the Intercontinental Title, whilst Hulk Hogan beat Orton Jr. the following day to retain the World Heavyweight Title…Andre the Giant won a battle royal and beat the Spoiler in the Omni, a show headlined by a Hulk Hogan victory over Dr. D David Schultz…Sergeant Slaughter was back in a Steel Cage with the Iron Sheik on the 28th, with another victory for the military man…Hulk Hogan and Kamala went to a double countout in the main event of a show in Hartford.

ed Jesse Ventura in Boston, Manchester and Baltimore…Andre the Giant beat Roddy Piper in the main event of a show on the 15th…New Haven saw Andre the Giant and Sergeant Slaughter win by disqualification over Adrian Adonis and Dick Murdoch…a change in stipulation – a Lumberjack match – doesn’t stop Hulk Hogan from beating Big John Studd on the 17th…The Freebirds saw out the end of the show in Struthers as they defeated Ken Patera and The Moondogs…the addition of Mil Mascaras didn’t help the Wild Samoans as they lost to Adrian Adonis, Dick Murdoch and Lou Albano…Pat Patterson tagged with Michael Hayes in a victory over the Moondogs on the 23rd, the same show as Hulk Hogan teamed with Mad Dog Vachon to defeat George Steele and Big John Studd…the Junkyard Dog main evented alongside the Wild Samoans as they beat the Moondogs and Big John Studd in Rochester…on the 28th, Hulk Hogan defeated Mr. Fuji…George Steele beat Hulk Hogan by countout in Chicago on the 30th.
