“Keep doing that,” she whispered. “Feels incredible.”

Lazet rubbed his fingers against her clitoris and then sucked hard. Melody shook underneath him and moaned.

  “Again.”

Lazet covered Melody’s clitoris with his mouth, his tongue probing and pushing, a third finger burying inside her as she bucked underneath him.

Melody’s thighs shook as Lazet withdrew his fingers and slid his cock into position. “I want you. I want to feel you gripping me the first time I make you come and have your body shudder beneath me.”

“I want that.” Melody pulled Lazet down for a bruising kiss.

He eased his cock into her hot, wet folds, and inch by inch, pushed his way deeper. She was so tight and warm, he could lose himself in her for days. He never wanted to forget this feeling. It felt so right.

Melody arched up towards Lazet, pulling him in deeper still. “I want you all. Don’t stop.”

“I’m never going to want to stop doing this.” Lazet met Melody’s gaze as he pumped himself into her. “I only want you.”

Tears filled Melody’s eyes. “Me too.” She wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him closer.

Lazet ignored the sting of his wounds as he fucked Melody. The pain was worth the pleasure they were both experiencing. He drove in harder as he felt her shiver, and his thumb found her clitoris and he rubbed fiercely.

“Lazet,” Melody cried out, her orgasm making her legs shake and her spine arch.

Lazet pushed his tongue into her mouth and pumped into her, his own orgasm coming seconds later. After holding back for so long, this felt like paradise.

They lay together in silence. Lazet felt Melody’s fingers trace gently across his back, and he kissed her neck and throat, licking the sweet sweat on her skin.

Lazet eased himself off Melody and looked down at her. “I’m feeling better already.”

Melody gave him a satisfied looking smile. “So, I can add nursing to my list of skills?”

“Along with kick ass fighter and the most gorgeous female I’ve ever seen.”

Melody lowered her gaze. “You don’t have to say those things. If this was enough for you, I’ll understand.”

Lazet lifted Melody’s chin until her gaze met his. “You’re not getting out of it that easily. We’re in this together, you and me. I didn’t even realize I was looking for somebody until I met you.”

“I’m not going to be some subservient little female to you, though,” said Melody. “And you need to be less bossy.”

“And you need to be less hot-headed,” said Lazet. “But I don’t want you to be subservient to me. We’re partners in this, and whatever Axen has planned, I want to do it with you by my side. You’re incredible, Melody Marlin. It only took being almost killed in a Fraken game to make me realize that.”

Melody grinned up at him. “You’re not so terrible, yourself.”

Lazet laughed as his fingers moved down into Melody’s wet folds, feeling himself harden again. “I’m terrible. I’m really bad. Let me show you just how bad I can be.”

  Chapter 27

It was late in the evening when Melody and Lazet left his quarters. They’d enjoyed each other’s bodies several more times before Lazet had collapsed with exhaustion, and Melody had tucked herself into his arms and fallen asleep alongside him.

After a quick meal, a shower, which involved more thigh trembling, hard sex against the wall, they headed to the comms room, their fingers entwined.

Melody still couldn’t take in what Lazet had said. He wanted her and only her. And she felt the same. She knew that, whatever lay ahead of them, they’d be able to face it together.

“Ready to meet Axen?” Lazet grinned down at her, his hand sliding over the access panel of a door as he did so.

“I’m looking forward to it,” said Melody. “He certainly seems to have won Eloise over.”

Lazet shook his head. “They’re crazy about each other.”

Melody grinned as the door opened. Inside were several Deorg monitoring complicated looking panels of buttons. And, on the other side of the room, stood Eloise. Next to her was the largest Vorten Melody had ever seen.

She took a deep breath, tightened her grip on Lazet’s hand, and walked into the room.

Eloise turned as they entered and gave Melody a huge grin. “Over here.”

Melody and Lazet walked over. As they drew nearer, Melody noticed how Eloise kept glancing at Axen. He was a handsome Vorten, although more battle scarred than Lazet. He had a huge scar over one eye and several pale scars lacing across his bare forearms.

Axen smiled at Melody. “I’ve been hearing about you from Eloise. It’s nice to finally meet you.”

Melody nodded. “It’s good to be here and to be alive. Thanks for getting us out of the game.”

“It was always our intention to do so,” said Axen. He looked over at Lazet and slapped him on the arm. “How are your injuries?”

“Healing well.” Lazet grimaced and rubbed his arm. “Melody’s been helping me.”

Axen’s smile broadened. “These human women are good at speeding up our recovery.”

Melody felt herself blush. “I told him he needed to recover.”

“You will learn that Vorten rarely listen to practical suggestions,” said Eloise, giving an exaggerated wiggle of her eyebrows.

Axen brushed a strand of Eloise’s dark hair from her forehead. “I always listen to you when it’s important.”

Melody enjoyed watching the interaction between the two of them. It was clear they cared for each other, and Axen’s hand kept hovering behind Eloise as if he had to resist the urge to keep touching her.

“We’ll be interested in learning more about your plans now we’re here,” said Lazet.

Axen turned his attention to him. “Right now, we’re heading towards a base. It’s a hidden meteoroid. The Fraken don’t know anything about it, and I intend for it to stay that way. That will be where we plan our attack.”

“Attack?” asked Melody. “I thought you were focusing on getting people out of the Fraken games.”

Axen nodded. “That’s the first stage. We bring down the games to begin with and cut off an important income source for the Fraken.”

“And then what?” Melody looked at Axen and then Eloise.

“You’re about to find out,” whispered Lazet in her ear.

“I want to know everything,” said Melody.

“Once I tell you, there’s no going back,” said Axen. “We’ll be in this together.”

Melody looked at Lazet. “I can handle that. How about you?”

Lazet smiled at her. “We’re in this together. All of us.”

  ***

Lazet wanted to wrap his arms around Melody and kiss her until she was breathless. She was so confident and sure of herself and didn’t appear intimidated by Axen’s stern expression.

They followed Axen to one of the viewing windows that looked out on the star system they were flying through.

“How far away is this meteoroid?” asked Lazet.

“We’ll be there in three Earth days,” said Axen. “There’s accommodation and supplies already there. And we’re building up resources all the time.”

“And that’s where we’re going to live?” asked Melody.

“For now,” said Axen, “but it will be one of many bases we establish. As I said, bringing down the Fraken games is the first step, but I want to do more. I want to end the Fraken reign entirely.”

“Destroy them?” Lazet raised his eyebrows. “The Fraken are strong.”

“But we are stronger,” said Axen. “And we have right on our side. What the Fraken do in their games and the unfair agreements they force upon other races has to end. It’s not right we stand by and take part in these activities. Vorten are better than that.”

“What do the Elders say about this?” A thread of worry ran through Lazet. He’d never disobeyed direct orders from the Vorten Elders, and neither
had Axen. There must be a good reason he decided to do it now. His gaze went to Eloise, who stood confidently beside Axen. Maybe she was the reason. Lazet knew he’d change the world because of Melody.

“The Fraken have alerted our Elders as to what’s been going on in the games,” said Axen. “I have yet to communicate with them, and we’re not yet ready to face the Fraken directly. But the Elders will need to hear our side of the story. It’s time for change; they must know that. I plan to lead us towards it.”

Lazet nodded. “Bladen and Thunde know about this?”

“Bladen knows more than Thunde,” said Axen. “He helped get me out of the first game. I have kept as much as possible from Thunde, for now. But he’ll know what’s going on soon enough. He’s the next Vorten in the games.”

“And he’ll be up against a human?” asked Melody.

“He will,” said Axen. “I believe you know her.”

Melody looked at Eloise. “Who is it?”

“We think it’s going to be Jessie.” A worried look crossed Eloise’s face.

“But she’s tiny,” said Melody. “She’ll never survive in a Fraken game.”

“She’s going to have to,” said Axen. “But she’ll have someone looking out for her. Thunde will protect her. Don’t worry about your friend. She’s safe in the game. And we’re going to get her and Thunde out, just as we have you and Lazet.”

“I trust you,” said Lazet. He looked down at Melody and she nodded. “We both trust you. Whatever you need to do, we’re in this with you.”

“Glad to hear it,” said Axen. “It’s good to have you both on board. But take your time now you’re here. There’s not much we can do as we travel. Explore the ship and get to know each other better.”

“We plan to,” said Melody as she nudged Lazet with her hip.

Axen smiled at Lazet. “These human women are spectacular. Eloise still astonishes me.”

Lazet smiled as he watched Eloise tuck herself under Axen’s arm. “I’m not surprised to hear that.” He felt Melody’s fingers brush down his side and turned to her. Whatever they were going to face, they’d do it as a team and beat whatever challenges came their way.

He relaxed as Melody pressed herself against his side. Contentment filled him, along with a thread of excitement. His gaze went to the viewing window, and he watched the ship shoot past stars. With Melody next to him, and Axen planning this incredible adventure, he felt invincible.

Nothing could stop him now he’d found his true purpose, his partner, and a mission he was proud to follow.

Lazet pressed his lips to Melody’s forehead. “Come on, partner; let’s see what the stars have in store for us.”
