  HIS CHRISTMAS CAROLE

  Chapter 1

"What the hell do you mean you won't give me a divorce? We haven't lived together for years..."

"It's called payback,” Vicky Masters hissed back. “You think you can leave me, shack up with some tramp and want me to quietly give you your freedom? I don't think so."

"You walked out on me, flaunted your latest conquests and acted like I'm the jerk,” Kristofer Masters snapped back. “At least I've been discreet and she's not a tramp."

  "By whose standards?"

  "You..."

"I'd be careful what you say,” she said. “It could cost you."

Kris Masters hated dealing with his estranged wife. She'd left him three years before then threw her new life in his face every chance she could. He knew she would have something to blackmail him with and it sickened him. Carole deserved better—he deserved better.

"Just sign the papers and I'm out of your life for good."

  "What about alimony?"

"You're walking away with the house, everything of value I bought you over the years and several things you really aren't entitled to. If you want to keep everything without my dragging you into court, I'd stick to the agreement and sign the papers. Your lawyer is chomping at the bit to file this and get it off his desk."

Vicky thought for a moment then signed three copies of the divorce papers, effectively ending their marriage and getting most of what she wanted except a monthly check. Kris watched her, shaking his head. Her attorney actually agreed with what they had hammered out during negotiations allowing Kris’ lawyer to draw up the papers. They didn't know about the additional clause prohibiting Vicky from dragging him back into court at a later date in order to break the agreement to get more. He watched her sign all three copies without reading them, Kris snickering.

"There,” she said, throwing the pen down. “Now get out."

  "Gladly,” Kris said. “Merry Christmas."

Kris gathered up the documents sticking them in his attaché case then left. Once outside the house he once owned, he walked to his car and drove to his lawyer's office. He looked at the time and cursed. Thanks to this visit to his ex-wife and her little snit, he'd missed the flight to the islands he should be on at the moment. He knew Carole would be angry and he didn't blame her.

"A few days more and we'll be together—if you're still speaking to me."

  * * * *

Palm trees and hot weather for the holidays—not something Carole Dickens cared for and her main reason for never going to Florida in December. She staunchly believed in Christmas being white. So why am I even considering this? Because He wants you to...

She waited at the gate to board the flight to Hawaii. He should have been with her but he had yet to show up, the time for boarding a few minutes away. She looked at the ticket he'd given her a few days earlier and wondered if he even intended to go with her. She knew he had family obligations and had yet to miss one of them. What the hell have you gotten yourself into?

She'd met him at one of the various benefits they both attended—he, a hot advertising exec and she, the owner of one of the more exclusive art galleries in the city. Introduced by his attorney friend, they hit it off immediately, a strange heat between them evident from the moment he shook her hand. His rugged good looks caused her to melt and his eyes saw through to her soul. They saw as much of each other as their professions would allow, only he had one small problem—a wife who refused to let him go and live his life as he wanted while she took everything away from him. He'd moved into a loft and out of their huge home on the outskirts of the city. She had unlimited use of their beach house, something which bothered Carole. He'd given the woman everything while giving up things he should never have been forced to.

"I'm doing this so we can be together. I've got some assets she doesn't know about and can't touch. I just need some time."

Carole agreed with this request, learning one important thing about the man she'd fallen in love with—she'd do anything to please him, no matter what.

She checked her watch again, still no sign of the man she loved.

"Last call for Flight 1096 to Honolulu...” an impersonal voice announced over the loudspeaker. She boarded the flight, the stewardess escorting her to her seat in first class.

"Miss Dickens, I have a message for you,” the young woman said.

  "You do?"

"Mister Masters is tied up and will be forced to take another flight but will join you as soon as he can."

  "Perfect,” Carole muttered.

  "Ma'am?"

  "Nothing, thank you."

Carole looked out the window, anger rising while her heart sank. What the hell had Vicky pulled this time? Somehow, Carole knew the woman wouldn't make things easy for Kris, something which always made her wonder if she'd made the right decision by devoting herself to a married man with a wife still pulling the strings from the sidelines. Of course, you idiot, you love him and he gives you every fucking thing you want, no matter what.

She thought back on their relationship and everything he'd taught her about herself. She'd learned she had a tru
ly submissive nature, wanting to please Kris no matter what. She loved the wilder side of sex, his domination over her and how he saw to her every need when they were together. Her stomach tightened, the empty hole growing bigger. Carole Dickens missed him being with her, unsure if she wanted to make the trip without him. If she didn't though, he'd be disappointed in her and she hated when he felt like that. Kris Masters—her master—she would do anything for him without question. Kris...

  Chapter 2

Kristofer Masters drove to his attorney's office to drop off the paperwork giving him his freedom to be with Carole Dickens. The very thought of his beautiful lady sent his body into overdrive. Meeting her at a party a year before, he'd fallen for her the moment he took her hand when a mutual friend introduced them.

He couldn't believe the five foot nine inch brunette beauty had the same feelings and he'd given up asking what she saw in him. He'd discovered early in their relationship that he'd been lucky to find a natural submissive to his dominance. She'd taken to his commands almost immediately, something Vicky had never done. His ex-wife found it disgusting, wanting vanilla sex while his body craved more excitement. Carole filled the void he'd had for years, wanting to please him while he took care of what she needed when they were together. Apart, they lived their lives as normal, their friends none the wiser.

When he pulled into the parking lot on the side of his lawyer's office, he took a few minutes to pull out his wallet and gaze at Carole's picture, her blue eyes piercing through him. His cock swelled, needing her velvet heat wrapped around him.

  "Soon, Carole, soon."

A few minutes later, he handed the divorce papers to Steve Westbrook, his attorney and the man who'd introduced him to the love of his life.

"Kris, I thought you wouldn't make it."

"I missed the flight though, thanks to that bitch's rantings and ravings."

  "I'm sorry, man."

"It's not your fault. Vicky had to be the drama queen, as usual."

"Well, this is not going to make you any happier, either."

  "What?"

"The judge who's going to sign this had to leave on a family emergency. He'll be back in a day or two."

  "Can't you get another judge?"

"Not one who knows the case. A new judge will tie things up to keep his judicial ass out of a sling. You can't go to Carole until you get the papers back."
