Shattered Love_Heart_Rending Love Story

“Who has who?” Juliet steps closer, looking between Anderson and I. Her eyes dart between us.

Anderson knows I won't lie. I said I would keep their secrets unless Juliet asked me directly.

“I won’t ask again! Who the fuck has who?”

“The Scorpions have Inferno!” Finally, Anderson fucking tells us what the hell is going on. Juliet’s arms instantly go around her waist.

“Inferno is part of the Scorpions,” Juliet tells them, taking a step back. Like she’s just been slapped her face turns pale, I walk over to her standing next to her showing Anderson where my loyalty lays I’m not lying to her.

I’m looking at Anderson’s face and that man has a shit fucking poker face, and Juliet isn’t fucking stupid.

“He’s undercover—well, was. That was until someone has found out that he’s one of us. He hasn't been in touch,” Anderson explains, and Juliet looks to me.

She knows that I know who Inferno is that he’s a fed. The betrayal in her eyes, so much like her mother’s, slays me.

“Brax…Inferno is a fed!” She looks confused. Cecelia walks back through the door pale and visibility shaking. “How do you know Brax?” Then see the moment it all clicks, just like me moments ago, she gasp her hand shaking as she lifts it to her mouth. “Brax is your son!”

Cecelia nods. Taking a seat as if she can’t stand anymore. “Yes he’s my son I was young having him, I never told anyone who he was, not even your mother and she was my best friend.”

I see the tear fall down Juliet’s face. “He kept me safe,” she whispers before she turns away looking out the window.

Cecelia is a complete mess she hasn’t stopped crying which has now turned into soft whimpers, Juliet tries to comfort her.

Luke walks in. “The Scorpions are on the move, we have someone following them.”

Cecelia’s head snaps up and she raises with the help of Juliet.

“Wait, you said the Scorpions. As in, the gang the Scorpions?” She’s different now, less of a mess and more in the present. She’s fully alert.

There is something working behind her blue eyes. Anderson nods at her question.

She takes a step forward. “That’s who has my son?”

Taking a step forward. “What are you doing to get him back?”

Anderson looks to me. He has no fucking idea. The truth is, if the Scorpions do have him, they have him as a rat and that’s not good. I warned Anderson about this.

Juliet wraps her arms around her waist. Silent tears run down her face.

My baby girl loves him; I know the pain of losing the person who is your every thought. I do anything they need to stop her feeling that pain.

“Look, Cecelia, this is a difficult situation. Brax is a trained federal agent. We’re going to get him out.”

“Bullshit,” She spits at him. “You’re not saving him! You’re leaving him to fend off the wolves himself.”

“We don’t have anyone to go in undercover right now. It would be a suicide mission!” Anderson tries to get her to see his way of thinking. The feds way but that means nothing when it’s your child’s life in the balance.

“Do you know what they’ll do to him, if what you're saying is true? If they think he has betray them!” She goes almost nose to nose with Anderson, Juliet whimpers at the truth of her words.

  Anderson visibly swallows, looking paler.

Fuck. Time is already against us. Forty-eight hours is a long time when you’re being tortured somewhere.

“You don’t have anyone, but I sure do,” Cecelia says, and I look at her.

Her face is blank. I can’t tell what she’s thinking. Something about her has changed it’s like looking at someone completely different even in the way she holding herself, like the poised mask she always wore has fallen off.

“Who?” Juliet’s hopefulness comes through. She doesn’t fully understand the implication if someone does.

“Me,” Cecelia tells her. She’s full of a confidence I didn’t even know she had.

She looks ready to kill, and I know how she feels, but she can’t be serious. She can’t go into the Scorpions’ den.

“Seriously?” Anderson’s disbelief comes through. “You’re going in?”

“Yes.” Her shoulders are high, her eyes narrowed. Like a lioness about to strike.

“Little Cecelia’s going into the lion’s den?” Anderson is mocking her. He hasn’t noticed the same changes in her I have. That he is staring at someone none of them has seen before.

“No, not Cecelia.” She’s smirking a smirk that the devil himself would be proud of.

She takes off her jacket and I hear Juliet’s intake of breath at the tattoo on her hip, the insignia of the Scorpion.

Cecelia raises her eyebrow that smirk still on her face. “Cece going in.”

Pushing Juliet behind me. “Your one of them.” Growling my voice deathly. My hand is hovering over my gun. I’m ready.

Her eyes soften a slight peek of Cecelia coming back. “Not like you think, this is a property tattoo.” Juliet stands next me. “Your married to one of them, who?”

Cecilia just smiles. She not going fucking tell us, I run through everyone in head from the information I had whilst I was here but none of them I can imagine her knowing let alone being fucking married too!

She throws her jacket over her shoulder. She’s taller, more confident, as she starts to walk out of the room, her hips swaying as she does so.

“Did you not hear me? It’s a suicide mission. You’re going to get yourself killed!” Anderson shouts as she opens the door. Cecelia turns around she laughs at Anderson

“You've never met Cece. She belongs in hell. She knows how to dance in the flames. She gets excited as it licks her skin. “

I swear I’ve entered a fucking twilight zone as I watch Cecelia wink at Anderson before she slams the door, leaving all of us staring after her.

It only takes a few seconds for my mind to catch up, I race out the door catching her just before she going leave. “Cecelia.”

She turns around, her eyes instantly narrow. Holding her hand up. “Don’t Dominic please don’t.”

I shake my head. “I wasn’t I don’t want you going in there my girl’s love you. I care but I know you’re not going listen to a fucking word I say!”

Looking up at me, her eyes determined. “I am his only hope, he need me nothing is going stop me from going in after him.”

I curse. “You sure there’s no other way?”

She looks off in the distance. “No. We’re a lot more alike than you know, that why I was drawn to Avery the same way, I swore I’d never let Cece out again she is wild, reckless but now I need her, I need to be that girl. She will walk right into hell to save Brax.”

I know what she means I see the truth in her eyes. “What about you?”

Her eyes harden. “I will save my son even if it means I die doing it. Trust me Dominic, nothing is standing in my way I know there weakness and strengths. They have my son nothing stands in front of a woman and her child, I’m taking hell to the Scorpions’ door, I will kill them from the inside out until there nothing left of them.”

I pull my hair. “What if they destroy you too?”

She fucking smiles. Smiles. “I enjoy the burn.”

There nothing I can say. “If you need anything…”

She smiles before sliding into her car, and I hold it open for her.

I rub my hand over my face. “Brax saved Juliet. She’s in love with him, so we need you both back.”

Cecelia smiles. “I know. I see it in her eyes, it was the same look Avery had for you.”

Fuck I feel useless. The Scorpions’ know me I can’t go in and protect Cecelia. I am more likely to get her killed.

As if sensing what I’m am thinking, Cecelia smiles. “I am coming back, Dominic. I want to see that grandbaby of mine.” She winks and closes her door before peeling out into the street.

  Her words register. As I
look up and see Juliet staring down

  “That mother fucker.”

  Cecelia/Cece

I drive right into the Scorpions’ nest, they never used to this lack security like this.

I flip down the mirror. My blonde hair has been dyed platinum in color, it hangs loosely down my back, my makeup heavier than it’s been in years. I have a smokey eye in dark grays making my Ice blue eyes pop. My lips are a Scarlett red. I get out of my car and I catch my reflection.

Skin tight leather trousers, a matching jack pulled down enough to get a glance of my ruby red bra and, to finish the outfit off, blood red five-inch heels. My lips lift into a smirk.

  The Bitch is back!

I walk toward the door and the kid guarding it. His cig falls out his mouth as he sees. I wink as I pull the door open.

The familiar smell of beer, smoke and sex invades me.

Complete quite falls over the room as I walk in some faces I recognize some I don’t.

A man I don’t know grabs my arm. “Hey sweet thing.”

I wag my finger. “I wouldn’t do that if I was you.”

He eyes turn deadly. “Yeah because how I see it is you’re a cum bucket your legs should already be spread, I’m going to have fun hearing you scream.”

“Try it I dare you,” I hiss, shock register on his face.

He brings back his arm I brace myself for his punch when an arm comes out to stop him.

Smithy looks at me with narrow eyes. We used to be friends. He was like a little brother to me, but the look in his eyes nearly kills me—betrayal, hurt.

“Max, you touch her and you’ll be buried by morning. She wears the mark.”

Max’s eyes narrow. “No bitch wears our fucking mark.”

I smile sweetly. “This bitch does.” I look at Smithy. “Where is he?”

Smithy’s lips pull into a sneer. “What brought your ass here because whatever it is you should leave while you can.”

I grab a bottle from the bar pretending to think about leaving. “Nope, now where is he?”

Smithy’s eyes flick to his room. Ahh right!

I place the bottle back down before stepping into Smithy’s space. “Threaten me again, Smithy and you’ll be the fucker buried.” I don’t miss the smirk that’s trying to creep up his lips.

I pull out a cigarette to stop my hands from shaking, knowing I am about to face him the man that broke me. The man that watched me burn and smiled while I did. All this in one room.

I don’t bother knocking. I push the door open and I watch as some whore rides his dick like a champion at the rodeo.

She squeals when she sees me and she reaches to cover herself with a blanket. “Who are you?”

His eyes land on mine and widen for just a fraction of time.

Pushing the woman off of him, sliding into his boxers within seconds. In an even shorter amount of time, he’s on me. His eyes bore into me, his hand going around my neck. “My wife.” He spits like it’s a curse word. The flames behind is eyes ignite, reaching out licking my skin.

A devious smile spreads across my lips. “Miss me, baby?”

  I leave with a quote:

“The moral of the story is that no matter how much we try, no matter how much we want it…some stories just don’t have a happy ending.”

  —Jodi Picoult

Or perhaps, it’s just that their story isn’t finished yet.

  Dominic,

I know with every piece of my heart and soul that this is not what you wanted. I know your love for me kept you alive, it let you breathe when the memories became too much. Your love for me was the one thing you controlled, completely.

I know you must be angry and feel like the entire world is crumbling around you, but you can’t give up. You must go on. Search for the beauty in each day, and if you can’t find it, close your eyes and imagine me right there beside you. Imagine the warmth of my touch and the gentle lingering kisses we always shared. Remember me in every moment, remember how much I cared.

Dominic, you were always my one and only. My true love. You swept me off my feet and claimed me as your own. I loved you even before you knew it, and if it had my time over I’d do it all again. If I had one more chance to love you, I’d love you just the same.

I was your sun. I was your home. Now, I am your star, and when you search the skies at midnight and you wish upon a star, please know how sorry I am for shattering your heart.
