“Calm down brother, there is plenty for both of us, you know that, from experience, right? Of course it’s funny, how can’t it not be?” he says in a nonchalant way. I wonder if things like this actually happen before, and I mean the real shit. I think yes, from what I can tell, this kind of situations happen regularly.
“Give him to me, Oliver, I want to talk to him,” I say with a firm voice, trying not to laugh at the funny face that he is doing now.
“Here, dear, put him out of his misery, he gets extremely jealous when I do stuff like this, and I can’t get it why he acts this way, even if he knows this isn’t real.”
“Hey, dear, sorry about all that, it was Oliver’s idea. Yea, I know, I’m sorry, I will make it up for it,” I say with a low voice.
“Ok, babe, I understand, it was all Oliver, of course. You wouldn’t do that to me, right?” He asks me with a serious voice.
“Of course not, babe, it was a joke.”
“I know Alice, I’m not mad or anything, just making sure. How have you been? Do you like my place?” he asks with a playful tone now, like nothing happened.
“Yea, it’s nice and big,” I say without thinking.
“I know something nice and big as well, don’t you think?” he says almost too serious. I of course realize what he is talking about.
“You wish,” I say to him in a sexy way, trying to make for the joke I just did.
“You know it’s true so don’t lie to me. Or do you want me to reaffirm?” he starts lightly laughing, making me to. Oliver looks at me puzzled, trying to hear what his brother is saying. I move far away from him so that he can’t hear anything. He gives up and concentrates on the road.
“I will be back home tomorrow, so expect some big action coming your way. Prepare yourself for the worst because I will be merciless.”
“Is that so, Mr. Noble, or should I say Mr. Merciless,” I respond with a grin on my face, unable to held my excitement that suddenly erupted hearing him.
After I’m done talking with Mr. Danger, I give the phone back to Oliver and start thinking about what he said. Standing in the car, meditating, I lose track of time and all of a sudden, we reach our destination, my old house. Home, sweet home. The grass has started to get pretty big and the dust inside the house is visible. Well, it’s not my problem anymore, I guess. It’s sad that all of this happened out of the blue. People are dying out of anything these days. One day you are perfectly fine, the other you find out you have cancer or I don’t know, some crazy condition that will make your life expectancy drop to three mouths. Not much is left that must be taken, so I double check to make sure I don’t miss anything then I signal Oliver that we are done here. I think this is the last time I will step into this house, of all I know. We put the stuff we gathered in the trunk and after we leave slowly, back to my, our new home. I glimpse back for a second still attached to some extent to it.
The way back home is boring and with no talk at all. I don’t know, I entered in a deep state of melancholy. I arrive at the house. Oliver does his job as I enter the house in the same state as an hour ago. My face is dead, no emotion can pierce through. Ashley is on her way down the stairs. She glances at me, seeing the state I am in.
“Alice dear, what is the problem? Come here,” she says and grabs me in a tight hug. I embrace her, letting myself enjoy the warmth of the love of my friend. She asks me again, this time whispering in my ear. I tell her the reason and she exhales in sign of relief. She caresses my hair with a slow and soft hand. We stand there, like we are frozen in time, unable to move. Oliver comes through the door and sees us in the middle of the room. He stares at us for a second then puts the box he has in his hands down on the floor and walks closer to us.
“Hey, what's up? Why you crying all of a sudden. It’s because of the joke?” He says truly concerned about me.
“What joke, what have you guys done? Oliver, tell me now!”
“Hey, chill, we didn't do anything bad.” He looks a little scared by Ashley’s reaction and he should be. Ash gets scary when you piss her off; and dangerous as well.
“Ash, it’s not him,” I say with a low voice, barely hearable. She moves her eyes from him to me in an instant, ready to listen to my explanation. Oliver comes closer to us, now that Ashley directed her attention to me. I get 1 inch away from her ear and explain what happened, Oliver being unable to hear anything. After I’m done and Ash softens up, Oliver is still in the dark.
“You are free to go, dear,” she says to him. Not knowing what to say anymore, Oliver makes his way upstairs, puzzled by what took place. I and Ash go in the kitchen to eat something. I for one am starving. After we are done eating, I go take a shower and Ashley goes to a meeting. Inside the bathtub I can feel all the bad stuff leaving my body, refreshing it. It feels so good, I can stay here forever. I let myself prey to this feeling, almost like someone is holding me tight, his warmth filing my body. It remains me of Levi and his touch. I let my imagination go wild and suddenly I find touching myself. I think about it for a second and then continue. My fingers slowly rub against my clit, making me feel up with pleasure. I imagine the one touching me like this is Levi. I fasten the pace, making myself breath faster and faster. I continue until I finally explode with a deep sound. The did done, I realize I’m inside the bathroom for more than 1 hour. I should get out. I stand up, letting to warm water drip down my body. I stand like this for a minute then towel dry my hair and body. I return to my room. As I walk through the door I wish Levi was there expecting me to jump in his embrace. The room is empty; only my laptop is turned on, making a silent sound. I play some slow music, trying to make myself feel better. I drop dead on the cold sheets. I’m naked, so I get some goose bumps as my skin touches the sheets. I make no move to get dressed. I stand there, motionless. I fall asleep and wake up after two hours. I stand up, feeling way better than before. I put some loose clothes on me and go downstairs. In the living room I find Lola and Zoe watching TV. It’s a cooking show with a known chef. I look at the big futuristic clock that is on the opposite wall that the TV is. Its 7 pm.
“Hey, Alice, how are you?” Zoe asks, her eyes still glued to the screen.
“You know, I’m fine. I miss Levi. He said he gets back tomorrow.”
“Yea, that's what he said. He will be back in four five days for sure.”
“What? Are you joking? You are joking, right?” I ask in a blink of an eye. Zoe turns to face me and starts laughing. Lola laughs too, so I too feel the need to smile at least.
“Its true, dear, he will come back in 5 days,” she says with a straight face. Lola stops as well from laughing and I look at them with a sad face.
“Oh, well, one can only hope,” I say sitting down on the couch, defeated. Lola, who is right next to me, puts her hands around me, squeezing the air out of my lungs.
“You got soft, silly. I can’t believe you are so in love. If Jenifer could see you, she would laugh with tears, I’m sure.”
“It’s not like that, believe me. It’s just, I don’t know, him. He compels me into anything, like he is the devil,” I say trying to make Lola understand. Zoe comes closer to us, wanting to hear our conversation.
“That’s true; Levi is a devil, in a divine form. I’ve seen it many times, the power of his words and touch.”
“Really?” says Lola raising her eyebrows. “We will see about that. Alice here is not a dumb bitch to fall for empty words.” She continues with a more powerful voice, like she is angry at something.
“Stop it, it’s ok, I’m happy,” I cry in her ear, calming her down.
I go to sleep early, knowing that tomorrow Levi will come home. Inside his room, my stuff is all over the place. I should make some order but I’m too tired. I didn’t even eat enough today. Hmm…I lost my edge this couple of days. Actually I think I lost my game from the day I met Levi. I need to get it back. I slap myself with both hands over the cheeks to snap out of this state. I did become soft, too soft for my attitude.
&
nbsp; The next day, I wake up with a smile on my face, determinated to do something motivational. The days I act like a dumb girlfriend are over. I go in the bathroom, take a fast shower, dress for some intense action and eat plenty. I go to the gym, as I was normally going before all this moving. I’m with Ashley, she never skips a day. Of course, I do some squats and some lunges, for my already perfect ass. I look into the huge mirrors that surround me, admiring myself for some confidence. I become invincible when I realize no one can match me. I’m like a goddess in a human body. Well that was a little too much, I guess, but its ok, you need to believe in yourself if you want to do something great in this life.
After I’m done with my workout, je and Ash go to eat. We ignore the unhealthy places like McDonalds and go to a restaurant. We sit down at a nice table and start looking in the menu for something fancy but nutritious. Done with the search, I signal a waiter. The one that responds is young, 19 years or less. He approaches us with a steady pace. I pierce him with my eyes, him responding with a timid smile. His scared, as he should be. I lock my eyes on him the whole time, teasing him to the limit. He asks us three times what we want, so lost he got. He leaves in a hurry, trying to escape the hell he got into. So funny how men become boys when you overwhelm them with beauty and confidence.
We get our food from a different guy, this one older, way older, around 60. When we seem him, I giggle and ask where the other one is. He answers the boy is busy with something else. I smile at him, explaining the situation that I’m sure he already knows. I didn’t want to scare him this bad.
Done with the meal, Ashley has to leave. Business again, of course. I take a taxi back home. As I arrive at the front door, I see a new car parked in the alley. It must be the twins; they are back. I pay the taxi driver way more that I should and hurry to the door. I walk inside, but see no one. A little disappointed, I drop my bag on the floor, go to the kitchen to drink something cold and slowly conclude to my room. I don’t even know where their bedrooms are. They must be on the second floor or something. I will wait for them. I really want to meet the two persons from Germany, which I will live with for the next months or year. I love Germany. Its culture, inspiration and dedication. I take a fast shower, check my feed and rest for half an hour, listening to some nice music.
As I stand there, thinking about random stuff, I hear a voice of a man. It doesn't sound like Oliver or anyone I know, so it must be Gerald. I get up from bed, and walk to check the corridor. I open the door and push forward, just to hit a wall of muscles. I lose my equilibrium, but as I fall down, I firm hand with a strong grip locks on me, stopping the drop. I raise my head, and nearly bump it to the person next to me. I find myself staring at a handsome face with powerful features, cold blue eyes and blonde hair. He looks at me with surprise, almost amusement. I lose my focus and can't articulate a word. He sweeps me up with a swift move. Now the distance between our faces has increased, so I can start thinking again.
“Hi, I’m Alice,” I say with a shy voice, barely hearable. He continues to stare at me with his expression of surprise, like his face has freezed in place. He suddenly opens his mouth to say hello.
“Nice to finally meet you, Gerald,” I continue with more determination.
“Nice to meet you too, a... Alice.” He straightens his whole body, reveling his massive height. He must be at least 195 cm tall. I myself do the exact same think, trying to look as tall as I can. It’s pathetic but hey, don’t judge me. I’m only 175, no match for him.
“This is Levi’s room, is it not?” he asks me with a low voice, his head changing its position from right to left.
“Yea, I’m Levi’s girlfriend.”
“Is that so, little girl. Very well, then. Move along now, if you may.” Did he just call me a little girl with the most nonchalant voice? I’m stunned by his way of talking to me, like I’m his pet or something. This guy. I make two steps back and shut the door in his face. What a dickhead. I’m sure his sister is even worse. I can hear his steps as he goes down stairs. I drop on the bed, thinking about the encounter. Pathetic. I message Lola to come here, as to not go alone down stairs. She arrives in a minute asking question about the situation. After she hears me out, she smiles and says the exact same thing happened with her and Liz, only Ashley was old enough for him, not to be treated like a little girl. LoL.
“He will ignore you from now on, believe me. It’s like I’m invisible to him, it’s funny actually, she says stroking my hand. I nod at her, sign of my understanding. She gives me a hug and we go together in the kitchen. Seems only the three of us are in the house at the moment. We start to make some food, its 2 pm. Hmm, I’m not that good at cooking and Lola is terrible, but together we can manage to make something ok. I think. We make some grilled chicken with salad, you know, keeping it healthy. After we are done, the end result is pretty good. We added a lot of seasonings on the chicken, to make sure it hides its bad taste, in case it was one. We eat in silence, like we are at a funeral. I’m actually hungry, so my plate is clean in five minutes tops. Lola is a slow eater, so slow it makes me angry, but I can’t do anything about it, so I let her do whatever she likes. I wash my dishes and drink plenty of water. As I leave the kitchen, Mr.LoL rises from the couch and strolls inside of it. He says nothing me or Lola, totally ignoring us, as Lola said. Good. I go upstairs and open my laptop. I did almost no work this week. I need to step my game up and start writing again. My first manuscript finished and to some extent published, I need now only start another, a better one, a smarter one. I search inside my head for ideas which I had before this story. Maybe I should write about a billionaire falling in love with a common girl. Nah, too many already on the market. I need something original, something to keep your breath the whole time, something… I don’t know! Fuck it, let’s think later about it, maybe something will come up. I’m sure it will, I say to myself with a big smile on my face, like I have nothing to worry about.
I continue to watch funny YouTube videos and check my Facebook until a fall asleep. Again!
Chapter VI
I arrive at the Boston airport around 9 AM. My friend Ben, who is a childhood friend actually, is waiting for me in his car. I get inside and let him drive without any direction whatsoever.
“Good to see you, mate,” he says to me with a smile on his face.
“Nice to finally see you after all this time! How much was it? One year?” I say.
“Yes, around that, mate. You know I was busy in Asia.”
“Oyea! How was it there? I heard thinks are getting better and better in the East.” I check my phone as I talk with Ben, trying to see where I need to go.
“Yes, it’s true, and the people are more open to foreigners now,” he says as he stops at a red light. He gets a cigar from his jacket pocket and lights it up. The smoke escapes out the opened window, dispersing into the air.
“Bro, look at this, you know this place?” I ask as I show him the phone. He looks at the address for a couple of seconds then says he knows it. Good.
“I went there a few times, the place is ok, a little remote but I think we are ok.”
We arrive at the place in short time, parking the car a little farther away. We get out and make our way to the restaurant. I got a laptop with me, which I need for this transaction. We enter the place and sit down at a table. A young waitress comes and welcomes us. We order some aperitifs and wait. After 20 minutes, one guy enters the place and walks directly at us. He sits down as if we know him for ages. I stare at him, analyzing every movement and expression he makes. Ben is chilling with a glass of whisky and a cigar. We confirm his identity and I get my laptop out and put it on the table. The guy gives me a USB and I introduce it. We wait and there it is, a code that disables the security to a specific location. I nod at the guy in sign of confirmation, and he slightly smiles. I hand him over a piece of paper. He gets his phone out and checks if all is ok. It is, the money is transferred. He nods at us and gets up. He leaves without looking back. Ben asks me if a
ll is good. I say yes and we ask for the note. We leave and make our way to Ben’s house. The last time I was here, three years ago, I remember being so drunk I couldn’t even stand up straight. It was pathetic but that night was crazy fun. I had a threesome and partied till the house was down. I wish the people I know would still do shit like that, but no, they too busy nowadays with work, business, and making lots of money to spend of their stupid wife’s. It makes me laugh when I see them so serious, so stiff, I can cry of pity for them. Ben’s house looks relatively the same as three years ago, of course with some minor changes. I like it, the old days, the good days.
“Why you need that code, bro,” Ben asks me in a discreet way, knowing the information is sensible. The sun razes strike down the objects in the living room, creating an illusion of pressure, of stillness. I feel the same, trapped into a circle, unable to escape its power. There are too many strings attached on me.
“Its not for me, I just did the transaction. Get 100k for it, so it’s ok.” I put the laptop on the table, not even looking at the shit I bought. I could make a copy and ask for some more money but fuck it; I don’t have time or the will to do so. I would not be professional either, so whatever. I just need the money they offered. Money, these pieces of paper kill people, destroys families, even nations. It’s sad what dominion the conception was over the world. I stand on my feet, not even wanting to sit down, so disgusted I am of my life, the life of all around me. If I was strong enough; I am not; I would break free from this web of spiders and corruption. My level of melancholy just shot through the roof. I need to see Alice, to ease my pain, the feel heat once more, because the world is cold, too cold for the week and naive. Done with this, I should just make the final step, and end this whole deal. I’m tired of it all. I wonder how my big brother can do this all day every day. I’m sure he even enjoys this kind of things. Good for him, I guess. I thank Ben for the help; he returns the thanks with a strong handshake, just like in the old days when he rescued me from all kinds of situations. He was always there for me; I don’t know why we drifted apart but I will try to reconnect with him more from now on.
