The light is changing outside, the sky turning from blue to a faint pink. It’s going to be a beautiful sunset.
Once Jude is spent, he looks tired but no longer defeated.
“You g-got this Jude. In every way.” I stand up and extend my hand to him.
He searches my face—a face he knows as well as his own—and takes my hand. “Yeah, we got this.”
I pull him up and we walk together. Back to our family.
Acknowledgments
First, as always, thanks to my husband and kids for their many sacrifices and equal amounts of faith, and to Sue for her endless hours of editing and cheerleading. And to my friends and family who had to hear about these books incessantly. None of this would be possible without you all.
Ending this series is bittersweet, but it never would have begun if Laura Bradford and Eileen Rothschild hadn’t taken a chance on a new writer and fallen for these characters. My eternal thanks.
To all the writers I’ve met along this journey, thanks for the inspiration and support. The romance community is unparalleled. A special thanks to Layla, Allyson, Eva, Siobhan, SVRWA, and the ’17 Scribes.
A shout out to the Old School Romance Book Club for the discussions, mayhem, and fun.
And finally, to those of you who read, blog about, and review my books: Thanks for giving them a purpose. Your words make my words possible.
