I climb off the bed, pull her to the edge, and then cradle her in my arms against my chest. After I grab the last condom on the nightstand we head for the bathroom.
"We'll have to make this quick, but I need you one last time," I tell her, turning on the shower to let it warm up. When it’s steaming I sit Cyn's feet down in the tub then climb in after her.
With both of us standing under the spray, I turn her to face the wall, roll on the condom, then enter her from behind, gripping her hips hard. She moans my name and braces her hands on the shower tiles to push her ass out as I thrust forward, over and over again. Urgency takes me over, not because we have to leave but because I need her so fucking much and can't get enough of her no matter many how times we’re together. The sensation is one I've never felt before.
When I start getting close I reach down between her legs and work her trigger spot. "Come with me," I tell her as I feel my release barreling down on me. "Come with me now," I order, and she cries out with her orgasm, right as I slam into her one last time before mine hits hard.
"Fuck that was good, but I'm so tired I can hardly stand up," I mumble, still pressed against her back with my arm around her waist.
"Me too," she says. "But we can sleep on the road."
"Yeah we can. All the way to Mexico. By the time we get there I might be recovered enough to do this again."
I finally move away from her warm, soft body and stand under the shower head to quickly wash using the hotel's supplies, then get out to let Cyn finish up. She’s done just a few minutes later, and after she dries her long hair we’re ready to go.
Of course there are knowing smirks greeting us as we climb up on the bus.
"So Jason, we've got a bet going. How many of those condoms did you use?" Matt asks with a wide grin.
"All of them," I respond as I guide Cyn toward the bunks with a hand on her lower back.
"Bullshit," Alex says from the front at the same time Seth laughs and says, "Pay up fuckers."
"I may be forty, but I've still got the body and stamina of a twenty-one year old, old man," I tell Alex.
"You're forty?" Seth asks.
"Yep. Now, if you'll excuse us, we're going to finally get some sleep."
Max follows us to stand guard in front of the bunks. I climb in first and by the time Cyn is settled against me we’re both sound asleep. Or we are until we both jump when we hear another boom.
"What the fuck guys?" I grumble.
"Charlotte D.R.A. facility," someone responds.
"They're going to catch us if you keep it up in this same bus," I tell them, but then go back to sleep, leaving them to worry about us being chased down.
Chapter Ten
Cyn
I wake up in a dark, confined space, and it takes me a second to remember where I am. Jason’s still holding me tight as he sleeps behind me in the tiny bunk. I reach and pull the little curtain back and can tell it’s also dark outside the bus windows.
We've slept all day and I have no idea what time it is. I climb out of the bunk to use the restroom and give Max a rub on my way to the front of the bus. Since he isn't freaking out I figure someone has taken him out recently, which is nice of them.
"Where are we?" I ask, trying to get an idea from the dark landscape flying past the windows.
"Almost to New Orleans. I guess you and your man want another hotel room tonight too, huh?" Sebastian asks.
"A room would be nice," I tell him.
"Yeah, thought so. The guys and I are getting…antsy."
"You mean you're not saving yourselves for the witches?"
"I am," the youngest one, Ryan says.
"Aw, that's sweet," I tell him honestly. I hope these guys don’t corrupt him too much.
"Yeah, I give you another three years tops before you're tired of jerking it and ready to screw every female in sight," Matt tells him.
"Leave him alone Matt, not everyone's a man-whore like you," Seth teases.
"So what about Alex's mate? You didn't list a witch baby for him?" I ask, and feel the bus swerve for a second.
"His mate's a she-wolf, being held in the Atlanta facility. If he conceives with her it'll be a warwolf, or you could call it a werelock. You know, warlock that's also a werewolf?"
"There are werewolves?" I ask in surprise.
"Well sure. Temperamental bastards, but they have their uses."
"So what are…supernaturals like in Europe?" I ask.
"Hell of a lot more vamps and weres. They’ve been at war for ages too. No witches sadly…a few warlocks."
"So Jason's nieces..."
"Might be the last two living witches in the whole freaking world. Now do you see why we need their help?"
"But what does it matter if there aren't any more witches?" I ask.
"Seriously? That's like saying why do human men need women. They're supposed to be our mates, damn it. A bond between a witch and warlock is like no other, or so they say. Without your mate you're missing a piece of yourself."
"So you guys are going to screw around with human women until your babies grow up? You'll all be too old for them."
"Not if we all drink an anti-aging spell."
Holy shit.
"That's a whole lot of dead people."
"Yeah, and the D.R.A. offers us plenty of choices," Sebastian says with a shrug.
…
"Jason baby. Wake up, we're in Mexico. Time to make the call," I tell him, kissing him awake.
He groans and then climbs on top of me, kissing my neck before he starts to rock his hips.
"Did you forget where we are?" I laugh and he goes still.
"Shit. I can't wait to get off this fucking bus."
I agree. We at least stopped overnight in New Orleans, and with a brand new spiffy box of condoms had another hell of a night together. But now I’m ready to be off the bus permanently.
I hold Jason’s phone out to him. Squinting he finds the number and hits send.
"We're in Mexico," he says.
"Okay. I'll tell them."
"Stop at the first grocery store you come to on highway ninety-seven. They'll meet us there," he yells out. "You ready to meet my family?" he asks me with a sleepy smile.
"Yes. I wish you could meet mine."
"Maybe someday," he says, linking our fingers together before pressing his lips to mine.
Twenty minutes later Jason and I are sitting on the bus couch, parked in a grocery parking lot watching and waiting, when he finally sees them.
"That's them," he nods toward a black SUV where two men are climbing out. One is young with sandy blonde hair, really tall, buff and movie star handsome. The other is also really attractive with a nice build, but definitely older with dark, almost black hair.
Alex opens the bus doors for them and they came aboard. Both have tight, serious expressions, like they don't trust very easily, and would have no problem taking down anyone they thought they needed to.
Jason is unaffected by their tough guy stances and scowls. He smiles before heading to the front of the bus to greet them.
"Look who it is! The jackass who was married when he knocked up my sweet little sister," Jason jokes, giving the dark haired man a brisk, handshake and one armed masculine embrace.
"You sure as hell weren't sweet. You killed a D.R.A. agent, and threatened to do the same to me the first time we met," the man responds with a smile.
"I saved you and Liz's asses that day, and you know it," Jason counters.
Sadness sweeps over the older man's face and he nods. "Yeah, you did, and I appreciate it. I still miss her more than anything," he says.
"I know. I do too."
"Hell, I can't believe you look exactly the same. I really hope you can do the spell for Kate.” He gestures to the man on his left. “Jason, meet Kate's husband, Sam West. He knew Elizabeth too. He asked her out and she turned him down repeatedly because she had better taste than my daughter. Sam, this is Jason Maddox."
Jason stick
s his hand out and shakes the younger man's.
"Liz was an amazing woman, and I really hate what happened to her. I saw her when she was pregnant with Kat. It was obvious that she loved her before she was even born," Sam tells him.
Jason nods and cleared his throat. "You don't look like the picture on TV," he says.
"Yeah, can’t walk around with my nineteen twenty-nine date of birth on my driver's license," the man responds with a grin.
"Damn you're old," Jason laughs. "Tom, Sam, meet my girlfriend Cyn," he says, smiling at me and holding his hand out for me to come stand beside him. I've never heard him refer to me as his girlfriend before, but it sounds really nice.
"It's nice to meet you," I say, shaking both of the men's hands.
"Cyn?" Tom asks with a grin.
"Short for Cynthia," I explain.
"'Ugly as sin' is not something anyone would tease you with," Tom laughs.
"Better be glad Joselin didn't hear you say that," Sam chuckles. "Joselin is Tom's wife."
"You remarried?" Jason asks. "The vampire?"
"Yes, two weeks ago, and you'll meet my beautiful wife back at Sam and Kate's house."
"Right, well, let me quickly introduce you to the warlocks. The driver is Alex. Tom, you know Sebastian. Guy on the computer is Seth. The boy is Ryan, and the one that looks up to no good is Matt."
"Would you all like to know what happened to the last warlock that touched my wife?" Sam takes a step forward and practically snarls the question, crossing his muscular arms over his chest, and making himself look even bigger. "Tom blew his head off. The bastard got off too easy, and I'll personally kill the next warlock that even tries to go near her. Slowly and painfully. Got it?"
There are nods and words of agreement. Then Sebastian opens his mouth.
"But the warlock knocked her up, and you're raising his daughter, right? Madison?"
Sam growls. "She's always been mine."
"Right. But she won't be the last warlock's baby your wife carries, so it's good you've gotten used to the idea."
"Do you have a goddamn death wish?" Tom asks, having to turn around and press his hands against Sam's chest to keep him away from the German warlock. Apparently that’s a touchy issue. Sam looks like an angry bull about to charge.
"My future father-in-law wouldn't kill me," Sebastian says with a smile.
"What the fuck are you talking about?" Sam yells at the white haired man.
"Madison is going to be mine."
"Over my dead body!" Sam shouts.
"You're going to happily give her away on our wedding day. I've seen it, just like I know your wife will give birth to another daughter."
Jason bravely steps between the warlocks and the vampires, but he is practically invincible. "I think now would be a good time for us to leave, don't you guys?" he asks Tom and Sam, pushing them toward the bus steps. "Cyn, can you grab my bag and Max?"
"Sure," I tell him.
A minute later we’re driving away in a SUV with two angry vampires.
"I am going to kill that motherfucker," Sam mutters from the passenger seat.
"Not if I kill him first," Tom replies as he drives us through a small neighborhood.
"I'm glad I'm not the only one that despises him," Jason says. "He made Cyn drink a potion five minutes after we got on the bus, then told her she'd die if she ever told anyone about us."
"Holy fuck," Sam said, turning in his seat to look at us. "And you let him live?"
"Didn't seem to have a choice, and I countered the curse, so she's fine."
"He does know the future," I remind them, and three sets of angry eyes turn to me. “As much as I dislike the arrogant prick, he does. He knew Jason was going to be exposed."
"He's wrong about Madison and Kate," Sam says between clenched teeth, and then everyone is quiet the rest of the trip to the modest but nice one-story house.
"Come meet your nieces," Tom says as we all climb out of the car and head for the front door where two beautiful brunettes wait, the youngest holding a baby.
"Kate, meet your uncle Jason," Tom tells the younger woman I've seen so many times on TV.
"It's nice to finally meet you," she says, when he steps forward and hugs her.
"Wow. It's like…God you look like Liz," Jason says to her.
"You're a lot younger than I thought you'd be," she replies.
"Anti-aging spell," he admits, and she beams.
"Really? Oh my God, can you show me how to do one?" she asks. "I don't want to grow old and leave Sam."
"There's a catch to it, but nothing we can't overcome," Jason says, leaving out the “kill someone else” part for now.
"Jason, this is my wife Joselin," he introduces him to the other beautiful woman.
"Nice to meet you," Jason tells her.
"Joselin and Kate, meet Cyn, Jason's girlfriend, and this is his dog Max," Tom finishes the introductions.
The women greet me warmly with smiles and I can't help my ticking clock reaction to the baby. "She’s too precious. Madison, right?"
"Yeah, Madison Elizabeth. You want to hold her?" Kate asks.
"Of course," I smile and cradle the little girl in my arms. The baby blinks big eyes up at me and makes a soft cooing sound. "She’s beautiful. And those eyes are gorgeous."
Sam mutters something with a curse.
"What's wrong?" Kate asks him, wrapping her arms around the tall man's waist.
"Fucking warlocks. No offense Jason," Sam says quickly.
"How about we head inside for this discussion," Tom suggests, and we all file into the house. Jason sits down beside me on the loveseat and looks over at the baby in my arms.
He smiled and says, "I remember when Kate was this size." Then something passes over his face, and he’s suddenly back on his feet, pacing around the room.
"So why'd the warlocks piss you off?" Kate asks Sam, who sits down on the couch between her and Joselin.
"They have some fucked up idea that you're going to be their baby mill."
"What?" Kate asks, her mouth falling open.
"They want you to let them fertilize your eggs with warlock sperm and conceive more super powerful witch babies like Madison, since you are the only two witches left," I explain to them, and they all turn to look angrily at me like it was my crazy idea.
"But who do they think will raise the babies?" Joselin sits up straighter and asks with what looks like…hope.
"Sebastian said you and Tom would raise one, Kate and Sam another, and me and um, Jason are supposed to raise one too."
Joselin covers her mouth with a shaky hand, and her eyes shimmer with moisture. Kate blinks her big teal eyes while her jaw remains open in shock, and all the men look…pissed.
Tom goes down to the floor in front of Joselin, arms around her, comforting her. "Darling, I know how much you've always wanted a baby, but we can't ask this of Kate and Sam, and who knows what those bastards want with them."
"I'll do it," Kate says. The room goes so quiet you could hear a pin drop, while an invisible tension seems to swell.
"Baby, don't you think this is something the two of us need to discuss first?" Sam asks, his body and jaw tense with the anger that’s clearly brewing under his seemingly calm words.
"What is there to talk about? I want to do this for Joselin, and…I…I want the possibility of having another baby," she responds softly, looking at Madison cradled in my arms.
"What the fuck is wrong with you?" Sam comes up out of his seat and roars. Everyone, including the baby in my arms, jumps. "How could you even think of doing this to me again? You know it almost killed me the first fucking time!"
"Sam," Tom warns.
Tears fall down Kate's cheeks, and I suddenly feel like we’re intruding on conversations we should have never been a part of.
"You love Madison," Kate says. "You could love another…"
"Another man's baby?" Sam finishes. "I forgave you your mistake with him, but I am not going to be a part of this
," he says, then walks out the front door, slamming it so hard it shakes the frame of the house.
Kate’s off the couch and heading for the back of the house a second later, Joselin following her.
Tom stands up from the floor and rubs a hand over the back of his neck. "Welcome to the fucking family," he says, then flops down on the couch.
I look down at the quiet bundle still in my arms. She's fallen asleep even as her parents went to war, and she looks so peaceful. I can see what all the fuss is about.
"Oh God, not you too," Jason grumbles as he sits back down beside me.
"What?" I ask.
"That look on your face says you want one."
"A baby? Well yeah, I am a woman in childbearing years with a clock ticking. That doesn't mean it has to be now, but some day…"
Jason's lips are on mine before I can finish my sentence. "Your babies would be beautiful," he says.
"And yours, well, would probably look like her," I tell him with a smile. We sit in silence for a few minutes, just watching Madison sleep.
"So I take it today is not a normal day in the happy family?" Jason asks Tom.
"Furthest thing from it. In fact I've never seen Kate and Sam have a fight in the year they've been together. He definitely never talks to her that way."
"How exactly did Madison come to be?" I ask him.
"Well, a long time ago in another universe far, far away, my sweet little daughter Kate went off to college at Madison University in Greensboro, North Carolina. I never told her she was a witch to try and keep her safe…which was stupid, I admit. Anyway, one day Kate decided to be a good Samaritan and donate blood at the blood mobile on campus. On this bus she met a vampire named Sam. Luckily he was the one who drew her blood and stopped before anyone realized what she was…"
"A vampire working in a blood bank?" I laugh.
"Yes," Tom smiles then continues the story. "They decided to meet that night so Sam could explain to Kate what I'd kept from her for eighteen years. The two began to fall in love, but an evil warlock named Chris had other plans. He found out where Kate lived and showed up to her apartment to seduce her, telling her Sam had cheated on her. She wasn’t able to resist the…warlock/witch chemistry, and she gave in to Chris's advances. This fellow Chris was Sam’s roommate. When Sam found out what Chris had done to Kate he beat the shit out of him. Sam and Kate later made up and forgave each other, which pissed Chris off. His plan to woo her had failed. So Chris called me. I was a D.R.A. agent in Ohio at the time. He told me he would out me and my daughter unless I got rid of Sam. I came on down and showed up at their house to wait for Sam, and take him down to save my daughter. He willingly surrendered himself into D.R.A. custody because he loved Kate and didn't want anything to happen to her. When I went to pick up Kate to take her somewhere safe she found out about Sam and demanded we try and save him. When I refused, she made one phone call and outed us all. We had nothing to lose at that point, so we went after Sam, blew up the truck he was in and killed the agents. After that Sam and Kate left for Mexico. I told them to leave me behind. I was ready to end it, had been ready to end it for nineteen years, ever since I lost Elizabeth. Then I saw Chris go after them, so I followed him until he found Kate with a spell and kidnapped her. I pursued them, and when he stopped his car I blew his head off. Kate had found out about a week before that that she was pregnant with Chris's baby. Sam lost it at first, upset that he could never have children with Kate, and that the baby would be a constant reminder of her, I guess you could say, unfaithfulness, but he moved past that and has been the only father Madison has or will ever know. He loves her like she’s his own. But…"
