A Taste of Passion

‘What do you want, Trudy?’
Trudy had been expecting Nikki. Instead, Aliceon stood over her.
‘I want to see him.’
‘You know the policy. Chef doesn’t see customers.’
The final word hurt. Trudy realised she was no longer a member of staff. She was no longer Bill’s lover or spankmaid or whatever the hell she had been to him. She was now only a customer.
‘I know that’s the policy,’ Trudy agreed. ‘But I still want to see him.’
Aliceon shook her head. ‘If that’s all you came here for, I’ll go and get someone to escort you from the table now.’
She turned as if to leave.
Trudy put out a hand and caught her cuff. ‘No,’ she said. ‘There’s no need to do that. I’ll place an order.’
Aliceon turned to face her. She raised an eyebrow expectantly.
‘I’ll have a muffin, please.’
Trudy watched Aliceon’s eyes narrow.
‘I’ll have a citrus and blueberry muffin. And I’ll wait.’
