Order vs. Chaos Page 18

by Mary E Thompson

“They met right before he left,” Kiana said.

I nodded. “I know. He mentioned her to me. They weren’t that serious though. I’m kind of surprised.”

“From what I was told, when he got hurt, he told her to find someone else. He had a hard time and didn’t want to be around anyone. She persisted though. She even flew to Germany to see him. He refused to see her, but she tried every day for her entire vacation. She wrote to him, and when he finally got home, she camped out at his house until he let her in.”

I knew that anger. I’d seen it. He hadn’t wanted to see me either. I heard him yelling at the nurses when they asked him. For their safety, I gave up.

  I was happy she didn’t.

“He needed help getting around. The VA hired him nurses, but he fired them all, refusing to let them in the house. Rachel had a key made and just let herself in.”

“Isn’t that illegal?” I asked, laughing.

Kiana nodded. “Yeah. She said she told him he was free to call the cops, but one of her brothers was a detective and answered the call. He told Joe to get his head out of his ass, or he’d have no choice but to shoot him in his other leg.”

“I bet he took that well.”

Kiana laughed. “About as well as expected. But she kept showing up. She helped him eat and took him to therapy. She fought for him to get benefits from the VA. She said she did it because she hated the idea of him being alone, but along the way she fell for him. He insists she put a spell on him to get him to fall for her.”

  “Sounds like him.”

“They’re a good couple, Sawyer. He’s down-to-earth and loves her. She’s a wild mess and can’t imagine her life without him. His missing leg doesn’t bother her in the slightest. And he seems to have adjusted well.”

“What did he say when you told him I was the photog?”

Kiana ducked her chin and my heart sunk. “I didn’t tell him.”

“You can’t do that to him.”

She shook her head. “It’ll be worse if he knows in advance. You two won’t have much contact with each other. And you can’t tell me that you don’t want to see him.”

“Shit, Kiana. I do, but not like this. He’s supposed to remember his wedding day forever because of her, not because of me.”

She smiled at me. “I think you’re wrong. I don’t think he’ll care. This is his wedding day. He has a lot more to worry about than you being there.”

I huffed a mirthless laugh. “I doubt that.”

She perched on the edge of my desk in front of me and leveled me with a look. “Are you more afraid of seeing him or of not seeing him?”

I sucked in a deep breath, my chest rising as I held it. I finally let it out and ran a hand down my face. “He won’t want to see me again. In my dreams he tells me he wishes he’d never saved me. I don’t know how I’ll handle him saying that to my face.”

She cupped my jaw. I tilted my head back and met her eyes, not hiding my fear from her.

She smiled at me, understanding in her eyes. “I can’t say anything to take away your worries. The only thing that will do that is seeing him. Facing him. And having it all be okay.”

I nodded, knowing she was right. It didn’t make it any easier. “What are you going to need from me?”

“There’s going to be more to this wedding than a lot of the others. It’s a high profile wedding. There’s an article going along with it and lots of publicity that we’re not used to. The Not A Dream Foundation is bringing in some security, and I’m sure they will ask for some more pictures. Our normal list isn’t likely to be enough.”

I understood that. Nothing about the wedding was going to be normal. Not the guest list. Not the wedding. And definitely not the bride and groom.

“We’ll get through it,” I assured her.

  “We?”

I nodded. “I told you I’d be there. I won’t let you down.”

She gave me strength. Being by her side made me feel like anything was possible. I could face a thousand Carrington’s if I had Kiana’s support.

I was just happy there was only one.

Kiana and I spent the whole day Thursday on the water. She gave me another surf lesson, which ended with a make-out session on the beach. Kapena was gone for the day, so we took advantage of my room.

It was nice to have her hair spread out on my pillow.

And her legs spread out around my face.

Afterward, she laid in my arms, both of us knowing our time was slipping away quickly.

“Are you ready for next week?” I asked.

She nodded, dragging her fingers through my chest hair. “I think so. We’ll meet with Not A Dream on Wednesday, and they’ll have free run of everything. We all want to make sure this is perfect for Joe and Rachel.”

I smiled and ran my hand down her bare back to her hip. I gave it a squeeze. I was proud of her. She’d pulled together an amazing event, not that I ever had any doubt.

“There’s no doubt in my mind why you were chosen for this. It’s going to be amazing.”

She crawled on top of me. “I think you’re pretty amazing.”

She leaned down to kiss me, her bare pussy sliding over my cock. I was already growing hard again. The woman could get me going with just a look. I hadn’t felt so good in years.

The rumble of Kapena’s truck outside had her pulling away to sigh against my chest. As much as we’d both love if I sank into her and made her scream again, it wasn’t going to happen.

“We need to go to your house sometime.”

She nodded, climbing off me. “The beach is better here.”

  “The beach exists here.”

  She giggled. “True.”

We dressed quickly and were in the living room by the time Kapena unloaded his truck and made his way inside.

“Hey,” he said, his eyes scanning over us. “Surfing?”

We nodded, knowing he was aware there was more to it. None of us wanted to go there.

“I’m starving,” Kapena said. “Want dinner?”

“We were going to order something in,” Kiana said. “You’ve had a long day, and we thought you’d be exhausted.”

Kapena nodded, giving her a grateful smile. She left my side and hugged him. I felt better with her next to me. As soon as she let go of her brother, I wanted to drag her back to my side, but I knew I was being ridiculous.

Kiana ordered pizza and told us it would be delivered in an hour. Kapena said he was going to jump in the shower, so Kiana and I went back to the ocean.

We left the surf boards on the beach and swam out into the ocean. The water sparkled almost as much as her eyes. Shit, I was turning into a lovesick sap.

  It was kind of awesome.

Kiana swam to me, wrapped her legs around my waist, and kissed me. I loved the feel of her in my arms, our bodies floating together as the ocean swirled around us. My cock rose beneath her, happy she was wrapped around me. When she moaned and ground against me, I sucked in a rough breath.

  “Shit, Kiana. That feels good.”

“You feel good. I’ve always wanted to have sex in the ocean.”

I groaned. “I’d love to, but I don’t have a condom on me. I left them in my other trunks.”

She chuckled. “I know. I think it’s a someday kind of thing.”

I dipped my hands low on her ass and teased her. “That doesn’t mean I can’t touch you.”

She sighed long and low when I eased her bathing suit aside and slid a finger into her.

“Oh, shit, baby. I could sink into you right now, you’re so wet. I might come with you.”

She whimpered. “I wish you could come inside me.”

“I know, honey. I do, too. I’ve never had sex without a condom before.”

She ground her hips down on my hand. “Neither have I. And I’m clean. I had tests done.”

“Kiana?” I groaned, needing her to spell it out for me.

“We don’t need a condom. I mean, if you’re okay, too.”
<
br />   I nodded. “I am. I wasn’t with anyone else for a few months before you. And I’m clean. Are you sure about this?”

She nibbled her lower lip and nodded. I could see in her eyes how big of a deal it was for her to ask me. Shit, I would love to sink balls deep into her and feel her clench down on me without a condom between us, but the risk was much higher for her.

Not that I had any plans to make myself scarce, but it was easier for a woman to catch something than a man. Not to mention getting pregnant.

“I want to feel you inside me. Just you, Sawyer.”

“Let’s go a little deeper,” I said, glancing back at Kapena’s house. We waded into water that was up to our shoulders. The waves splashed around us, but they didn’t roll over our heads.

Kiana was wearing a one-piece, and I knew we needed it off. I peeled the strap from one shoulder, then the other. When her tits floated free, I cupped them and brought them to my lips. Her head fell back, her body floating in the ocean. She wrapped her legs around my waist to keep herself anchored and let me feast on her.

I was too impatient. The knowledge of where I was about to go pulsing in my mind and my cock. I undressed her quickly, looping her bathing suit around my arm before I pushed my trunks to my knees.

“Are you sure about this?” she asked me, her hot center close enough to my cock that I could feel her. If she wanted to stop, I was going to die, but dammit, I’d do anything for her.

“It’s up to you, Kiana. Completely.”

“Does that mean you don’t want to?”

I shook my head and kissed her softly. “Absolutely not. It’s killing me to not be inside you already.”

She sank down onto me, both of us groaning as I filled her. Fuck, she felt good. She clenched around me, her slick heat making me harder than I’d ever been.

“Oh, God, Kiana,” I groaned. “I need to feel you come like this. Touch yourself, baby. I’m not going to last long. You feel so fucking good.”

She slid a hand between us. Her fingers brushed my cock when she found herself and groaned. “I’m so wet.”

My dick swelled with pride. “Yes, you are. Let’s get you wetter.”

I pumped and she touched. Her soft cries bounced off the water around us, getting carried away. The water swirled, tugging at us, but I refused to move, anchoring my feet to the shifting sand every time it slid out from beneath me.

“I need to come,” she gasped. Her eyes were glassy, overflowing with desire. I knew she was fading, her orgasm taking control even as she fought to hold on to it.

I moved one hand from her hip to press my thumb against her clit. She kept her hand there, her fingers caressing mine as I stroke her inside and out.

“Ohgodohgodohgod! Sawyer. I’m coming,” she whispered, burying her face in my shoulder.

I slid my thumb over her faster, thrusting hard into her at the same time. She bit my shoulder, sending pain and pleasure straight to my dick.

“Fuck,” I gasped as my head spun with the need to come. Her pussy tightened around me. I slid my thumb through her folds again, drawing more of her come to her clit, and thumped her hard.

“Ah!” she screamed, the orgasm surprising her. Her body stilled, then she thrashed against me, the water around us kicking up as she came in my arms.

“Sawyer,” she groaned against my neck. “Come with me, Sawyer.”

I didn’t need to be told twice. I was so close I could practically taste it.

With both hands on her hips, I slammed her hard onto my dick. She shattered again, her pussy throbbing around me.

“Kiana!” I roared, not caring in that second that her brother probably knew exactly what we were doing.

My balls were so tight they ached. I sank deep into her, so deep I knew she was coming again. I couldn’t think about that. I couldn’t even see straight. My balls felt like they exploded as I came hard, my entire body shuddering as I filled her, over and over again.

“Oh, shit,” she gasped, my orgasms setting off another for her.

I had no idea how many that was, but fuck did I feel like a hero.

She stayed wrapped around me for a few minutes. Her head was on my shoulder, her naked body pressed against mine. My dick didn’t shrink much, despite the hell of an orgasm and the cold water. He was still buried in the sexiest woman on earth. He’d be a fool to leave.

We heard one long whistle then three short ones from the beach and saw Kapena waving us in.

“Dinner must be here,” I whispered against her neck.

She nodded, sleep tugging at her. She liked to sleep after sex. It killed me to walk away from her when she was ready to curl up and go to sleep, but I did every time. I wanted to hold her in my arms all night long. To be able to wake her up as many times as I wanted and have her any way I wanted.

But I still didn’t trust myself.

“We should go in,” she said, releasing her legs from my hips.

My dick bobbed uselessly in the water. I swiped over him, making sure he was clean enough, then tucked him back in my shorts. Kiana’s hand went between her legs for the same.

  “Let me,” I offered.

She laughed and turned away from me. “I don’t think we’ll ever go in if I let you do that.”

“Even better reason for me to help out,” I whispered against her neck, wrapping my hand around her waist and sinking it between her legs.

She was slippery, our come seeping from her. I groaned at the feel, unable to resist playing just a bit.

I slid two fingers deep into her, and she pressed her hips back against mine, stirring my cock again. She moaned softly. “Sawyer.”

“Can you give me another one right now? Quickly?”

“I don’t know,” she said, but she was already moaning and pumping her hips. “Maybe.”

“I love feeling my come all over your pussy,” I whispered in her ear. “I can’t wait to do that again. And next time we’re not going to have to run in for dinner. I’m going to play with you until you beg me to stop.”

I hit her g-spot and circled her clit with my thumb, her gasps becoming moans. Her clit throbbed under my thumb, her pussy clamping down on my fingers. I shoved my shorts down again and slid into her from behind, desperate to feel her come again.

She gasped, then moaned, coming instantly on my dick. I couldn’t stop with one. I was a selfish bastard, and I needed to feel her again. I toyed with her clit, sliding my fingers around it before she begged me to let her come. I thrust hard into her, my balls heavy and tight as she started to come.

Warm jets of her come hit my dick as she held back her screams. I could feel the tension in her body, trying to keep her brother from finding out what we were doing. I swept my fingers over her again, wanting one more out of her.

  “Sawyer,” she whimpered. “I can’t.”

“Last one, baby. I promise. Then I’ll feed you.”

She nearly cried. I could tell she was strung tight, her body primed and ready. I thrust hard into her, plucking her clit as I pumped my dick against her g-spot.

She grunted her way to her orgasm. I loved hearing her so far gone that she couldn’t even form words. Her cries were animalistic, like she wasn’t her anymore. I fucking loved it.

  So did my dick.

As she moaned and grunted and came hard all over me, I slammed her hips against mine and exploded into her. She gasped and then moaned, another orgasm overtaking her body.

We bobbed in the water for another minute before Kiana said we really needed to go in. I reluctantly slid out of her, tugging my shorts on again. She reached for her bathing suit. I held her at the surface as she put it back on. When we were both presentable, I swept her into my arms and kissed the shit out of her.

“That was the hottest thing I’ve ever done. Officially my new favorite.”

  “Which part?” she asked.

“Well, you first. Always. Then being inside you without a condom. But the ocean was pretty fucking spectacular, too. I think we n
eed to make this a weekly thing.”

  “Weekly?” she squeaked.

I nodded. “You’re right. It should be daily.”

She gasped and shook her head. “You’re incorrigible.”

  “And you’re sexy.”

She blushed and took my hand. “Thank you for that.”

I grinned. “Any time, Kiana. Absolutely any time.”

  Chapter Nineteen

Kiana was on edge for the next week. The people from Not A Dream were flying in, and she was freaking out that they were going to hate everything she’d done.

“Rachel loves it,” I assured her. “The bride is the one who matters. Not the people paying for the wedding.”

She laughed. “Try telling that to any set of parents who hold the checkbook.”

I grinned. “True. But these aren’t her parents. Or his. It’s an organization that’s supposed to be giving them their dream wedding. Why would they come in and change everything she picked out?”

Kiana sighed. “I don’t know. I just have a weird feeling about today.”

We ate lunch and waited for the team to show up. They’d flown overnight from the East Coast, so they were getting some sleep before joining us for a meeting at four.

As the clock ticked closer to the time, Kiana grew more and more nervous. Jack and I tried to talk to her, to get her to calm down, but she said she wouldn’t feel better until she knew they approved of everything she’d done.

At four o’clock, exactly, they walked in the door. It was a team of three, two men and a woman.

“Kiana, it’s nice to meet you in person,” the first guy said.

He had dark hair and eyes and checked her out when he didn’t think she was paying attention. I was, dammit. Keep your eyes off my woman.

Then he hugged her like they were long-lost friends. I tried hard not to growl but knew I failed when everyone in the room turned to look at me.

“It’s nice to finally meet you, Steven. This is Jack, my assistant, and Sawyer, our photographer.”

That’s it? That’s all I was? Not her boyfriend. Not the man who made her smile every day. Not the man who loved her.

  Just her photographer.

I shook the guy’s hand, maybe squeezing a little too hard. To his credit, he didn’t say anything, but I caught him flexing his hand before he turned to Jack.
