  “When did you get here?”

“A few minutes ago. I had to come over.”

“I’m glad you did because I need you. I’ve needed you for days.”

His hand moved down my belly and cupped my pussy. I was already flooding with desire, and when his fingers touched me, I was soaked.

Austin groaned. “I love how responsive you are.”

His thumb circled my clit, and I was like a powder keg whose fuse had just been lit. I bucked my hips and came almost immediately, crying his name. Austin suckled my breast until my breathing slowed.

“I want you inside me,” I panted.

I grasped his erection and stroked him vigorously. He hissed when I squeezed him.

He grabbed my hand. “That’s a loaded gun you’re playing with.”

“When was the last time you came?”

  “A few days ago.”

  “Why?”

“For the same reason, I bet you haven’t come by your hand. I want it to be with you.”

“Then fuck me, unless you want me to beg.”

Austin pushed the covers off and got between my legs, rubbing the head of his cock through my slick folds. He gave me no time to ready myself for his massive penis and rammed it into me so hard he pushed me up against the headboard.

His mouth twisted, but not in pain but rather in ecstasy. “Jesus Christ, you’re so fucking tight.”

He stretched out over me, balancing himself on his elbows as he circled his hips, never taking his eyes off mine. “I woke up each morning with a raging hard-on thinking about you. I dreamed about you every night. I hate being away.”

I dug my nails into Austin’s ass, pushing him to pound me harder and as deep as he could go. He complied, and I could feel him thickening inside me as he got ready to come. I pulled up my knees, opening for him. He screwed me, rubbing his beautiful cock against my sensitive tissue. I arched my back and felt tears begin to form in my eyes as I shattered into a million pieces with my next orgasm.

“That’s it, baby. Milk me for every drop.”

I felt him fill me with his creamy cum, so full that it was leaking down my ass. I held onto him as he collapsed on top of me, licking my sweat misted throat. Austin looked up at me and wiped at the tears that dripped down the sides of my face.

  “Why are you crying?”

“I’m happy. I missed you. I missed this.”

Austin kissed my face and moved to my side. He was still rock hard when he slipped out of me, and I had ideas of mounting him. He must have figured out what I was thinking because he shook his head.

“You need to rest first. I was a little rough. I’m sorry.”

I stroked his face, wiping sweat from his brow. “I loved it. Don’t apologize.”

  “I crave you so much.”

  “I couldn’t concentrate at work.”

“You have sex on the brain.”

“It’s your fault. I was celibate until you.”

  “Now you’re a sex-starved tease.”

“I wouldn’t be if you didn’t go away.”

He turned on his side to look at me. “You know I had no choice. Roman was tied up with work and couldn’t check on her. Grandmother wants me to move closer to her. She said she misses me.”

Fear curled in my belly. “Are you considering it?”

“No. My life is here with you. I love working at USC.”

“Suppose something happened with your grandmother?”

“I could bring her out here unless Roman could take care of her.”

“If it really happened, could you say that?”

“You think I would drop everything I have here to move back to New York?”

  “I hope not.”

“You’re being ridiculous. I could never be away from you. I barely hung on for a week. You think I would be able to handle a long-distance relationship without you in my arms?”

“When emotions get involved, you never know.”

Austin raised his voice. “That’s so far from the truth.” He got up and went to the bathroom. I heard the shower turn on, and I jumped up to join him when I heard the clanking of the glass door. I entered the bathroom and called to him.

  “Austin, I wasn’t implying anything.”

His voice was muffled as water ran over him. “You were implying I would leave.”

“I didn’t mean it that way.”

As soon as he put shampoo in his hair, I joined him in the shower. He washed the soap out and wiped his eyes to see me standing there. “You think it would be so easy to leave, just like that?”

“I know it would be hard, but she raised you.”

“She did, but I love you so much. I would figure out something without leaving you. I couldn’t. How can I make you see that?”

He pushed me against the tiled wall and pressed his lips so hard to mine that our teeth tapped. His hands roamed my body, roughly squeezing my breasts and pinching my nipples. I whimpered into his mouth as he slid me up the wall with little effort. His cock was fully erect, and I was impaled as he let me down.

Austin’s thrust told me of his anger, hard and fast. I’d never seen him so aggressive, and it scared me just a little. He was lost to me, his eyes closed as he concentrated on fucking. I gently stroked his face, and he opened his lids, giving me a glazed look. He slowed until he came to a stop and held me to him as he moved to sit on the bench in the corner of the stall.

“I’m sorry, baby. I would never.”

I leaned against his chest as his dick pulsed inside me. He held me tight, stroking my wet hair, and whispering how much I meant to him. We stayed like that for several minutes until I began to rock against him. I wanted to come again, and I wanted him to come inside me.

Austin reached between us and rubbed my clit with his fingers, gentle circles while we mirrored the movement with our tongues. Our fucking was sensual and slow until I came apart in his arms and exploded. My orgasm seemed to go on forever as my core rippled and tensed.

I was exhausted by the time I finished, but I kept rocking because I wanted Austin to come, to fill me deep inside with his semen.

We spent most of the day in bed together, getting reacquainted. I was on my second nap by the time his grandmother called to tell him she’d gotten home safely. After Austin finished with the call, he went to the kitchen and came back with a bottle of crisp white wine, grapes, cheese, and some crackers.

“I don’t have the energy to eat,” I mumbled.

“If you eat, you’ll have energy.”

He was right, I was ravenous and thirsty, gulping at the wine he filled my glass with.

“Hey, don’t drink so fast. I don’t want you drunk.”

  “I’m thirsty.”

“Then I’ll get you some water.”

He got off the bed and padded down the hall to the kitchen. I couldn’t help ogling his lovely sculpted backside as he retreated. The front view was much better when he returned with two bottles of Evian.

“Drink this. I want you sober for a night of activity.”

“I love you, Austin, but I think I’m done for the evening.”

  “I think you’re wrong.”

I was wrong because he made me want him over and over again. He knew just what to do with his tongue and fingers to get me going again. I fell into a dead sleep after we were finished. Austin held me possessively in his arms, his leg thrown over my hip.

The next week, Marina reminded me I needed to book my villa in the Maldives for my regular January vacation. Villas got booked fast, and usually, seven months was the cut off if you wanted to get one for the following winter.

“I need to speak to Austin first. I’m not sure if he wants to go there again or somewhere else.”

“Should I book and ask them to hold the reservation?”

“Let me speak to him first.”

Austin had gone surfing, and I left a voicemail on his phone. He promised to teach me, but so far, we spent most of our weekends in bed or in fron
t of my pool or his. He called me an hour later when he was driving home.

“I got your voicemail. Do you want to go to the Maldives again?” he asked.

“I have, for the past few years. It would be sentimental since it’s where we met.”

  “My villa or yours?”

“Does it matter? We’ll be sharing one this time.”

“I like yours better. It’s where I made love to you for the first time. Book it for the day after the New Year. I don’t start school until the fourteenth.”

  “So ten days then?”

“Works for me. Maybe I’ll make your dreams come true this time and take a bath with you.”

I chuckled. “I’ll believe it when I see it. You hate baths.”

“But for you, I could deal with it.”

“I’m going to hold you to that.”

  “Hold away, darling.”

“I have a meeting with Hassan in five minutes. I’ll talk to you later. Drive carefully.”

  “Always do, Sammy, my sweet.”

We hung up, and I prepared for my meeting. Hassan and the board were still hunting for an animation studio to purchase. So far, they’d come up empty because either the company wasn’t well established, or they had large financial debt. Hassan walked through my open office door a few minutes later.

  “Samantha.”

I looked up at his voice. “Hassan. Have you found a suitable studio yet?”

He sat down on my couch and crossed his legs. “We’re still looking. I wanted to run something by you.”

  I frowned. “What is it?”

“We have located a possible. The financials are in order, but we have a problem.”

  “And that is?”

“It’s on the East Coast. New York to be exact.”

  “What’s the problem?”

“Besides being three thousand miles away? We would need to place some of our senior staff there for several months. One person in particular.”

I shook my head. “No,” I said.

He held his hand up to stop me. “It wouldn’t be permanent. We would be cleaning house of management. You can build your team from the ground up, and when it’s done, you can come back to Los Angeles.”

“And what of my duties here in this office?”

“You would need to be bicoastal for a time, but I know you have staff here who can handle things in your absence.”

I wrapped my arms around my body. “Hassan, you’re asking a lot. How far along is this deal?”

“Not far. It’s just in the discovery phase. We’ve had brief talks with ownership, but nothing concrete.”

“Have you thought about starting our own animation studio? We can poach talent and build from the ground up.”

Hassan’s brow furrowed. “We have, but the growing pains could be quite costly. At least if we purchase an established studio, we have the talent in place.”

“There’s no one else who can handle this part of the business?”

“Not to our knowledge. We don’t feel comfortable bringing someone in from the outside. I need your expertise in management. You can right that ship and make it successful.”

  “I have a life here.”

“I know you do, but it’s not permanent. Like I said, nothing is concrete at this point, but we are strongly leaning in this direction.”

“I don’t know if I can make that kind of commitment.”

All I could think of was what Austin would say if I said I would need to live in New York for six months or longer. I’d gotten angry at him for even mentioning living in New York; now it looked like I might be the one moving there. I had no idea what it would do to our relationship if it came true.

Hassan stretched his arms across the back of the couch and bounced his crossed leg. “Of course, you would be well compensated for this. We can discuss what you consider fair if it comes to that.”

  “I’m not agreeing to anything.”

“I’m not asking you to right now.”

We concluded our conversations at that. After he left my office, I couldn’t concentrate on my work. I couldn’t even consider moving, nor did I want to even if the money was incredible.

  “Sammy?”

  “I’m sorry.”

“Why am I bothering? You’re a million miles away.”

Austin and I were in my bed, and his attempts at distracting me from my earlier conversation with Hassan was not working, even with his hand between my legs.

  I stuttered. “I just…I don’t know.”

“What’s wrong? Something’s been eating you since you got home.”

“I might as well tell you, though nothing is set.”

He removed his hand from between my legs. “Tell me what?”

I sat up and looked at Austin. “I had a meeting with Hassan today. He told me they’re considering another animation studio.”

“That’s great. This has been going on for a while. They finally settled on one?”

“Let me finish. The studio is in New York.”

He frowned. “So, what’s the problem?”

“The senior staff is a shit show and guess who would need to go there to hire and train new staff?”

Austin sat up and propped his back against the padded headboard. “Are you kidding me? You bitched at me about even mentioning moving to New York; now you might have to?”

“It wouldn’t be permanent, and I would more than likely be bicoastal during that time.”

He raised his voice. “It would also mean that our time together would be limited. You won’t have time for me even if you spent half a week here and half a week there. You’re busy enough with your job here. This is ridiculous.”

I focused on his narrowed eyes. “Why are you getting angry? I’m just telling you what Hassan asked. There is nothing completed yet.”

“And what happens when there is?”

“I don’t have to do it.”

He got out of bed and began to get dressed. “But you will. I know you.”

  “Where are you going?”

“I need some space. I’m going home.”

“What if I don’t want you to go home? I sleep better with you here.”

“Get used to sleeping in bed alone if you take this job.”

I pushed the sheet off me and slung my legs over the mattress. “There is no job. Not yet.”

He yanked his shirt on so violently that I heard the hem rip. “Fuck!” he screamed before he walked out the bedroom door. I debated going after him, but I knew it was better to let him cool off.

  10

Four days since I heard from Austin and I’ve been in a foul mood. Besides that, I have an industry dinner coming up on Saturday, which is tomorrow. Austin promised he would attend with me. I’m not sure if I want to go alone. I bought a strapless shimmery silver dress which fit my curves perfectly and a matching wrap.

I called his cell and waited for it to go to voicemail the way the last eight calls I’d left did. I took a deep breath as it rang.

  Austin’s voice was ragged. “Sammy.”

His voice curled around me like smoke. I missed him so much.

  “Please don’t hang up.”

“I’m finished being angry at you.”

I breathed a sigh of relief and almost felt like bursting into tears. I could barely speak. “I’m sorry. I’m miserable without you.”

His voice evened out. “That’s two of us. Come over when you leave work.”

  “Are you escorting me tomorrow?”

“I have my tux all ready.”

I felt fresh tears sting my eyes. “I’m sorry.”

“Stop apologizing. We can talk when you get here.”

  “Thank you.”

  “For what?”

  “Forgiving me.”

“We’ll discuss it when you get here. Leave work at five.”

It was nearly four-thirty now, and I had nothing left to do for the day.

“I’m done. I can leave now.”

/>   “An early night for you.”

“I’ll be there soon. I love you.”

I hung up and texted my driver. When I got downstairs, he was in front of the building, and I slipped in the back of the black town car. Marina was surprised I was leaving early, but I told her to enjoy her weekend. I’m sure she had no problem with taking off before five on a Friday.

I went through emails as we drove through Los Angeles. I needed something to keep my hands busy. Austin said he wanted to talk. I wondered if he was giving me an ultimatum. I hoped not. He was sitting in the living room flipping through the channels when I arrived, wearing only a pair of olive-green khaki shorts.

  “There’s my girl.”

He held his arms out to me. I kicked off my heels and crawled onto his lap. The tears I tried to hold back started to come, and I wept as he held me.

He stroked my hair. “Shh, it’s okay. We’re okay.”

“You never called me back,” I sobbed.

“I was upset. I don’t want to lose you.”

“You could always move to New York with me.”

“And what would happen when you were finished there?”

I wiped at my tears. “Maybe I could stay.”

Austin kissed my ear. “I don’t think Hassan would let you leave Spotlight. He values you too much.”

“I wouldn’t be quitting, just working somewhere else in the company.”

“Would you be satisfied with a smaller role after holding the CEO position?”

“Probably not, but I could work it out.”

  “I don’t think so.”

“I know I’m getting ahead of myself. This might never happen. The owners could say no, or the board might find something unfavorable with the studio.”

“But it’s a possibility, and I want to be prepared. Did Hassan say what the circumstances would be if you gave him a flat out no?”

“We didn’t discuss it. He said they’re in the discovery phase and had brief meetings with the owners. It doesn’t mean anything at this point.”

Austin exhaled loudly, his warm breath blowing against my forehead. “The job at NYU is still available. They haven’t found any suitable candidates.”

  “Are you thinking of applying?”
