"Any plans for tonight?" Eden questioned as she approached me.
"Studying, as always," I shrugged.
She looked at me, a questioning look in her eyes.
"Ruby, you're the best student in the school, even I know that and I've been here how long? 2 days. As far as I know, you ace every single test with an A. What is left there for you to study?"
I shrugged once again. Eden dropped the subject, pulling out of the parking spot as we headed home.
It was simply my everyday life. It was the "always" that I hated with every bone in my body, but also the 'always" that was comfortable and familiar. I was used to it, besides I'd rather spend my time studying than pretending to like being at a party or trying to get through more than an hour with Kevin. His view on everything in life was far different than mine, not that it's bad, but, whilst I could put a legitimate explanation and reason as to why my opinion was the way it was, Kevin could only shrug and make out.
A town full of empty people and non-existant opinions. I had to play along, put on a smile, be a nice girl and shut my mouth because that's what I had been my whole life. Probably just because I didn't know I could be different of what I was expected to be.
I held on to Eden, pressing my cheek against her back. Somehow I felt home. I felt safe, wishing I could always feel this way. She made me feel different, full instead of empty. I closed my eyes, feeling like I could, like I was allowed to, without being scolded or judged for not living up to my name, feeling tired of pretending to be someone the society had made me out to be.
"We're here, Ruby," Eden said softly, I noticed she had already removed her helmet, now looking at me with her trademark smirk.
"Are you tired?" she questioned.
I nodded my head, my helmet still on. Exhausted of this lie I was living.
She removed my helmet, placing her hand on my cheek. I leaned in, closing my eyes. Just a second shouldn't hurt.
I felt myself being lifted up, I assumed she was carrying me to her home, and I didn't object, I just wanted to rest. Was it too much to want?
I felt my body hit the smooth mattress, my bones squealing in joy. Opening my eyes, I saw Eden in front of me.
"Sleep, it's alright," she said softly, smiling at me.
As much as I wanted to, I first needed a shower. The practice didn't leave me smelling anywhere near good.
"Can I use your shower?" I asked, slowly getting up.
Ruby nodded, turning her head towards what I assumed to be her bathroom.
"The towels are in the drawers," she said.
"Thanks, I'll try to not take long," I said, kissing her forehead and going in the bathroom.
I quickly removed the clothes I had on, stepping in the shower.
The hot water running down my skin felt astonishing, my aching muscles instantly relaxed. I ran the soap against my skin, the whole room now smelling like roses. Getting out, I wrapped myself in a towel.
I opened the door of the bedroom, revealing Eden that had her glasses on, focusing on a book she was currently reading.
She looked charming, pure beauty and I couldn't help but smile. I'm not sure how long I had been stood there, but eventually, she turned her head, her eyes widening as she realized what I was wearing.
Getting up, she moved to her closet, handing me an oversized t-shirt.
"Thanks," I grinned.
I'm not sure what had gotten into me, but I dropped my towel, now standing naked in front of her, her eyes glued to my body. Then I took the t-shirt, pulling it over my head, covering myself up.
Once again, I leaned in and pecked her lips. I was about to go to bed, but I guess she had a different idea in her mind as she put her lips on me, this time the kiss far more than innocent. We had been making out for quite a while, my arms locked above my head, against the wall, her body pressed against me. I gently bit her lip, pulling it slightly. She let out a soft moan.
"What are you doing to me, Ruby?" she asked, her eyes eager, as she pulled back.
What are you doing to me, is the question we should be asking. But I wasn't sure I was ready to ask that out loud, for I felt disoriented of it even being in my head.
"Let's go to bed," I said, pecking her lips.
Getting in the bed, I pulled the sheets over me and soon enough felt Edens arm sneaking around my waist. I turned around, putting my hand over her waist as well, tangling my legs with hers.
She kissed my forehead, my eyes slowly closing after. And then I fell asleep. For once not alone, not after doing my homework or eating a lonely dinner. For once, not like I always did.

I blinked my eyes open, trying to understand where I was and who's arms were currently around me.
~bzzzzz~
Eden groaned, but as she opened her arms, a smile spread on her lips. She was gorgeous, even in the morning.
~bzzzzz~
"I like you checking me out and you can do that for hours after you answer that annoying call," she chuckled.
~bzzzzz~
"Yes?" I yawned.
"Did I wake you up, princess?" it was my dad.
I instantly felt a grin break out. I missed his voice so much.
"Just a little, but it's alright," I said, "is something wrong?"
"Sorry, completely forgot about the time zones. You know how I am. Anyways, I just wanted to let you know that we'll be back for the holidays."
I squealed like a little girl. I couldn't even tell when the last time I saw my parents was. I knew they had a business to run and it wasn't a small one at all, so I could deal with barely seeing them. They still loved me a lot and that's all that was important.
"Really? That's fabulous, daddy!" I smiled, "can't wait to see you both."
"Glad you're happy, princess," dad laughed, "I'll let you go back to sleep now."
I knew he had work to do but he wouldn't say it out loud, because I'd be hurt and he didn't want that no matter what.
"Alright, kiss mom from me, love you."
"Love you too, princess," dad said, ending the call.
I checked the time on my phone. 2:25. I overslept.
I started climbing out of the bed, only to be stopped by Eden's arm.
"Where to?" she asked, confused.
"Home," I stated simply, "it's already 2."
"Why? You can stay," she looked at me trying to figure me out.
I looked around indecisively. It's not like I had anyone or anything to go home to anyways, but at the same time, I had always stayed home, never missed a night, except for when I was out of town.
"Let me rephrase that," Eden said, "I'd like you to stay."
I guess she sensed my indecisiveness. It was hard to say no when such a stunning beauty was asking you to stay in an incredibly comfy and warm bed.
She didn't even wait for my response as she pulled me back, wrapping her arm around my waist, my stomach groaning in response.
"Hungry?" she asked, smiling.
All I could do was stare at her full lips and nod. She smirked, kissing me softly, earning a muffled moan from me.
"Let's go eat something downstairs," she smiled at my response.
"Can we just go back to sleep?" I asked, groaning.
Getting out of this comfiness wasn't a thing I wanted to do at all. I would have to be starving to do that.
"Whatever you say, beautiful."
She got even closer to me and soon enough both of us fell asleep once again.
"Time to wake up, Eden!" Lucy shouted, barging into the room, opening the curtains.
"Mom! Just let us sleep 5 more minutes, please," Eden groaned.
Her arms moved from my back to my ass, squeezing it, which earned a quiet laugh from me.
"Don't even start, get your ass up, young-,"
She didn't continue, realizi
ng Eden wasn't alone, and for the first time actually looking at the bed and seeing me there.
"Oh," she smiled, "you have 5 minutes, ladies!"
Lucy left us alone, closing the door behind her.
"Good morning," Eden smiled, leaning in for a kiss. I stopped her, putting a finger on her lips, smiling.
"Morning breath," I stated.
"Well we can do something that doesn't involve such problems," she smirked.
Her arm slowly moved from my bottom to my stomach, her fingers teasingly getting lower and lower. I closed my eyes, trying to stay focused.
"Eden," I softly moaned.
I wanted it to sound like a warning for her to stop, but instead, it sounded more like an invitation. Thanks, body.
Her fingers were barely there, when she suddenly pulled her hand back, kissing me and getting out of bed.
I just laid there breathless. Oh no, she didn't.
"Why would you do that?" I groaned, growing frustrated.
She looked at me over the shoulder, smirking.
"You think 5 minutes with you is enough for me? I wouldn't be able to stop," she said, her voice lower, this time me being on the receiving end of a warning.
I stared at her, my mouth opening and closing, unsure of what to say, making a mental note to regain at least some sort of self-control around her.
"Good to know," I said, acting as if I hadn't just heard that.
We quickly got ready, Eden giving me clothes to wear since I didn't want to wear the ones from yesterday, not bothering putting on make up for school.
"You look pretty good in my clothes," she said, placing a kiss on my cheek, soon leaving the room.
The kisses had become a normal routine for us even though we knew each other for the very few 3 days. It felt natural, but still, it was slightly weird to think about.
I walked downstairs greeted by the lovely smell of waffles and coffee.
"It smells amazing," I said, drooling already.
"Thanks, sweetie. Waffles are pretty much the only thing I know how to cook," Lucy laughed.
I took a seat, eating the whole portion Lucy had put on for me, making sure to finish the fruit salad and coffee.
"I can't even tell how long it's been since I've had breakfast like this," I smiled, feeling grateful. Eden looked at me, laughing at the pace I ate the whole thing.
"Well then make sure to be here more often, you're welcome to eat with us whenever, hun," Lucy smiled.
"That's so nice of you, but I can't possibly accept that, Eden's already.." I couldn't finish the sentence.
What I meant to say is Eden already helped me so much, she pretty much brought me back to life... She was like a miracle I'd forever be thankful for because for once I didn't feel lonely or empty.
"You were saying.." Eden smiled mischievously, daring me to finish that sentence.
"What I meant to say is that Eden already helps me a lot, giving me rides to school and everything," I winked at her.
"And everything, huh?" Eden said loud enough for only me to hear.
I'm pretty sure I was blushing at this point. I never blushed. Lucy was staring at both of us, smiling.
"You girls seem to be pretty close already, I'm glad my daughter isn't whoring around like normal," she smiled, "I'm getting some peace and quiet for once."
"Mom!" Eden shouted.
At that moment I was drinking my coffee, choking on it. The coughing eventually turning into laughing. By now Eden was patting my back, whilst Lucy handed me a glass of water, chuckling at her own joke.
"Thanks, girls, I'll survive," I laughed, taking the glass and drinking half of it.
"On that note, it's time for you both to go, otherwise you might be late," Lucy said, checking the time.
I grabbed my bag, putting on my superstars. "Thanks for the breakfast, Lucy. You're the best," I smiled, kissing her on the cheek.
"Welcome sweetie, you better be here for dinner," she smiled back, slapping my butt as I was walking away which earned a laugh from me.
"Mom, stop flirting with Ruby," Eden groaned, already waiting for me by the door.
"Have a good day, girls!" Lucy shouted as the door was closing.
"Could you be any slower?" Eden whined, already holding out the helmet for me.
"Only for you baby," I whispered in her ear, grabbing the helmet.
"You're such a tease," Eden sighed, turning on the engine as we drove out of the garage and into the streets.
Once we were at the school, Eden put an arm around my shoulders, the both of us walking inside. I didn't even mind it, we were just being friendly.
"Do you need anything from the lockers?"
"No, I'm fine, let's go to the class."
"Ruby!" I heard Tiffs voice behind us.
I turned around, seeing her race down the hallway.
"What's up?" I asked, my smile fading a little.
"I can't find my uniform anywhere, do you know where it is?" she asked. She didn't even apologize or give an explanation for not turning up yesterday.
"Why would you need it?" I asked, raising a brow.
I was nice, 98 times out of 100, the 2 exceptions being disrespect and the team. She had just managed to get both of them.
"Um... For the practice?" she asked, seemingly confused. I didn't answer, letting her figure it out herself.
"You kicked me out of the team?" she said, her voice hushed as she made sure no one else heard it.
"No," I corrected her, "you left the team."
She took a step towards me, hate radiating off her eyes. Eden looked between me and her.
"You don't have the right to do that, Ruby," she said.
"Tiff, let's not do this. We both know you did it to yourself, you could have let me know if you had something to do and I would let you off, instead you did the team the dirty way. You disrespected the team and me, therefore I see no reason for you to still be a part of it if you think that is okay," I told her.
Tiff took another step towards me, this time getting too close, so Eden put a hand between us, stopping whatever she was trying to do. She glared at the arm and then at me, clenching her fists.
I knew she wanted to destroy me, but also the both of us knew if she ever said that, she'd be the one destroyed as no one in this town would allow that. My parents were too well-known for it to get anywhere near that. This was not me using my authority, this was me protecting my team that put their effort, tears, and sweat just to be there. And so had she, until she blatantly threw it away, thinking she deserved some sort of special treatment.
So instead she turned around, walking away.
Part of me felt bad, and then there was a part of me that had this bad feeling in my stomach. Something just wasn't right about this. Tiff was a fighter, yet she had walked away.
"You okay?" Eden asked.
I nodded and walked to the class.

you were the poision spreading around
I tried to breathe, but you gave me no love

Sitting in the class for a second longer felt impossible. The weird feeling at the pit of my stomach just wouldn't fade. I thought it was becoming stronger, making me feel as if I was slowly fading away.
"Do you mind?" Eden whispered. I looked at her, my brow raised.
She pointed at my hand, making me realize my finger had been beating against the table for a while now. Guess my body had a mind of its own.
I smiled at her, silently apologizing.
Her eyes scanned me longer than they usually did. It made me feel uneasy, avert my eyes from hers. No one had ever paid that much attention to me, not a real one that reached past my great acting skills.
"Hey," she said softly, placing a finger underneath my chin, moving my gaze back to hers.
Her eyes searched mine, while I tried to muster up a smile. Smiling had become quite a hard thing for me to do lately. Something felt off and I failed to pinpoint what it was.
"Eden
!" Mr. Lake said, making everyone's heads snap to us.
Eden's finger was still underneath my chin, which resulted in whispers surrounding the room.
"Yes, Mr. Lake?" Eden grinned at the teacher.
"Would you like to solve this example?" Mr. Lake smiled back, sarcastically.
"It would be my pleasure," Eden replied.
Before she got up, her thumb grazed my lower lip. I laughed at her, earning a wink as she went to the front of the class.
The classmates were still staring at me, sending questioning glances my way. I raised my brow, challenging them to ask whatever they were thinking, but it was rather obvious no one would have the balls to do so.
The class went on, with me zoning out as usual. It had become too frequent by now and I was growing quite impatient with myself. This wasn't like me.
"Babe, the class is over," Eden said, already back in her seat.
I wondered when she got back exactly. Was I zoning out for that long?
"Let's go," I said, getting up from my seat, getting slightly dizzy as I held on to the table.
"I'm making my delicious bolognese pasta tonight, you better be there," Eden said, smiling at me.
"You know the way to my heart," I smirked, shrugging off the dizziness.
I heard the loud laughter from across the hallway. Tiff, Kevin and the rest of the gang were there. I didn't even bother going to Kevin. The fact that we had barely talked the past few days, had completely skipped my mind. Seemingly neither of us cared too much about it.
"Hey, guys!" I smiled, deciding to act more mature than any of them ever did, "what's the occasion?"
"Just wanted to thank you for making me realize what's truly important," Tiff gave me a sugar-sweet smile.
I looked at Kevin questioningly, the players and cheerleaders going their way and leaving the four of us alone. Something was going on.
"I'm glad I helped, Tiff," I smiled back at her, not even bothering with the unnecessary drama she was trying to cause, "mind stepping to the side? You're in the way."
Kevin was looking anywhere but at me. Coward.
Tiff took a step towards Kevin, her fingers intertwining with his. My eyes followed every little movement, not leaving their hands. I expected to be angry, sad, anything, I guess that's what you expect from a 2 year-long relationship. But I felt empty, bad for them even, for what was to follow. Kevin would be destroyed.
