Placing a kiss on her neck, I rested my head back on her chest, trying to act natural: "I have only met your mom. Is she the only family you have?"
This was partly the reason I wanted to play this game. It allowed me to ask things that would otherwise be suspicious to ask. Asking such personal questions seemed unfair, yet I felt I had to know if my guess about the police officer Blake, who was behind all the murder cases, was correct.
"I've never known my dad, he died before I was born. Apart from that.." she continued, and I held my breath, "I have an older brother."
That backfired.
"Tell me about him," I said, trying my best to keep my composure.
"There's not much to tell," her body language said otherwise, "he's a great guy."
She wasn't about to confess to any murders anytime soon, it was more than clear.
"Why were you dating Kevin?" she asked.
I wasn't expecting this one. Yet it felt simple to answer.
"Because everyone expected us to be together, and so we were. Seemed only natural for a cliche girl to have the cliche boyfriend," I laughed at my own life and how truly sad it sounded, "What's your dream future looking like, Harper?"
"You stole that one from me, but since you're cute, I'll let it slide," she laughed, "honestly, I don't know. Tend to live it day by day. I guess doing what I want, when and however I want to would sum it up."
I decided not to question her further, knowing I was digging in way too deep way too quick.
"Do you ever feel lonely?" her voice was quiet, knowing well she could trigger me by asking.
I didn't have to think about it long: "yes. But it's alright, it's nothing I can't handle."
She laughed: "you don't have to handle everything alone, Ru. I am here now. Always will be. So if you ever feel alone again, you better call me. It isn't hard to figure out I'd come running."
"The sexuality thing... How come you didn't give up on me right there and then?" I asked and she turned my head, so I was facing her.
"Because why would I? The minute I saw you I had this feeling like everything finally made sense. You made it click, stop and turn around 180 degrees. I couldn't get you out of my head even if I tried to. So you're stuck with me, because it seems that the Universe thinks we belong together," her eyes were burning with passion and sincerity.
How could a person feel like what I felt towards her? Everything about her pulled me in. She was everything and more.
I turned around so that now my legs were placed both sides of her hips. I kissed her, needing that final assurance. And I got it, I knew the moment her fingers cupped my cheek, as I couldn't help but lean in, I knew the moment her lips brushed against mine, making me tingle all over, I knew the moment her eyes laid on me, promising me to give the world to me, if only I let her. I knew it since the day I had met her, but I chose to ignore it, chose to fight it. Little did I know that the feelings were way stronger than I was - a part of me wanted to let go of the thread desperately hung on to.
And so I let go of it. Because I decided fear would not control me. The only person stopping me from doing what I wanted, was myself. And hell, clearly I was doing something wrong so far to be feeling this empty. So, I thought - why not mix it up for once?
I pulled away, looking at her. I wanted to savor this moment.
"I have one more question," I bit my lip.
I was getting lost in her, but hell, I didn't care, she could have all of me.
She looked at me, her eyes twinkling with excitement.
"Will you be with me?" I asked, exhaling the breath I wasn't aware I had held in.
She grinned: "I have been with you since the very start."
She quoted what I said the day we argued. I smiled knowing well it was the truth after all.
I connected our foreheads: "I think the Universe kicked my ass."
She laughed, smiling: "I also have one question left."
I breathed, wondering what she'd ask.
"So, what's the plan?" she asked, her eyes twinkling from happiness, as I grew confused. Soon I realized what she was doing, as I leaned closer to her, our mouths only an inch apart, smiling.
"I know this amazing Italian place.." I whispered, my hands making their way under her shirt. She grinned, pulling me closer.
And so we spent the night. And I continued to ignore the lump in my throat or the sirens going off in my brain. And I wrote it off as being scared of getting hurt, putting myself out there for the first time.
And maybe I shouldn't of.

she preffered dying while living

"Ru, we should go," Eden stroked my back.
We had spent the whole night here, watching the sunrise, kissing, just enjoying each others company, and I must say, I could not get enough of it. I only wanted more and more.
It was so comfortable, beautiful and Eden was here, I had all I wanted, the thought of leaving not even crossing my mind. Yet the sand had gotten everywhere, my hair, my underwear, you call - it was there and I was in a desperate need of a shower.
"I don't want to go," I pouted. My stomach disagreed, growling loudly.
Eden laughed: "that's our cue to leave."
She was trying to get up, but I quickly straddled her legs, locking them beneath me.
I smirked, pushing her down, moving her shirt up before kissing her lower stomach: "maybe I'm hungry for something else."
I didn't know what I was doing, really, I had no experience with girls, or even guys when it came to this kind of stuff. Yet my body seemed to have a mind of its own, dying to pleasure her, and so far, everything I did seemed to leave an effect on her.
She closed her eyes for a second, tensing underneath me. The moment was soon gone, when she tricked me into kissing her so that my legs around hers relaxed and she could successfully get up.
After getting up, she smiled at me, while I stubbornly refused to do so, my hands crossed on my chest. She held out a hand for me, no matter how stubborn I was, I still couldn't help but give her my hand, I was completely and utterly whipped, what more can I say.
We tried to shake off the sand, walking to her motorcycle, which was an absolute piece of art and elegance, a perfect match for Eden.
"Hop on, gorgeous," Eden said, already on the bike.
I obeyed, getting as close to Eden as I could, feeling her body tense underneath my fingers. "You better feed me when we're home," I whispered in her ear, her remaining silent.
As I put on my helmet, I grinned in the victory of making THE Eden Harper flustered, putting my arms around her, signaling her that we could leave now.
She didn't waste a second, as we flew through forests, cities, tunnels. We rode for about 40 minutes, and I enjoyed every single bit of it. It made you feel carefree, emptied your mind. It made the world silent, if only for a little bit.
As we drove in her driveway, I saw Henry slightly turn his head, still standing next to my houses doors with the other bodyguard I didn't know. Did they ever sleep? Or eat?
We parked in Edens garage and I handed her my helmet, pecking her lips.
"I'll be back in a second, don't wait up," I walked out of the garage.
Making my way toward home, I waved at Henry. He smiled, nodding in response.
"Hey, Hen, my parents up?" I asked.
"What do you have your phone for? It's 7 am, they are probably cuddling in bed and enjoying the "vacation", miss Gold," Henry guessed, rolling his eyes.
"Do you know how long they're staying?" I questioned, a bit scared they would leave any second. Henry shifted uncomfortably as I squinted my eyes at him.
"You'll have to ask them that, Miss Gold," he said, his tone leaving no place for arguments.
"Tell them I'll be at our neighbor's house, they can call me when they're up."
Henry let out a theatrical, shocked gasp: "you've spent the whole night with her, but still didn't get enough
. Miss Gold, are you, by any chance, in love?"
I rolled my eyes, smiling. "Adios, Hen," I walked away.
Was I thought? I'd never felt this way before, but I think the l-word was way too fast. I had only just let her in.
Not even bothering knocking, I walked into Edens house, still smiling , instantly making my way towards the kitchen, knowing she had to be there: "you won't believe what Henry said.."
As I walked in the kitchen, I found Eden with an expression far from pleased, staring at a guy who's back was turned on me. She looked at me, her expression switching to panicked for a split second as she stared between me and the guy. But it was soon replaced by her stunning smile.
"Hey, gorgeous," she said, looking at me breathlessly.
I grinned awkwardly, knowing I had interrupted something: "hey."
The guy cleared his throat, turning around as he smiled at me. I tried to control my expression, the grin not leaving my face.
"You must be the girl my sister can't stop talking about," he smiled, his features nearly the same as Edens, "Ruby, right?"
And you must be the guy I have been stalking for the past few days, I wanted to reply, biting my tongue. He held out his hand, which I gladly took, squeezing it lightly.
"Yes, that would be me. And you're the infamous older brother, right?" my smile still didn't falter and I had to praise myself for my acting, feeling Eden's eyes burn holes in my skin.
I had to give it to Blake, he was pretty good at acting too: "I guess that's me, I'm Blake, by the way."
"Nice to meet you," I smiled - at least this time in person.
"The pleasure is all mine, Ruby," he said, but if I looked in his eyes long enough, I could see that he was hiding a lot. This guy knew me. More importantly, he knew something I didn't, which I was yet to find out.
I let go of his hand, turning to Eden, her eyes analyzing us. This made me confused. Yes, I was kept in the dark, but I had no intention of staying there.
"Anyways, I'll get going now," Blake said, looking at Eden, then at me, "tell mom I'll come over soon."
Then he went to Eden, hugging her. Probably no one would ever notice, but I could tell he quickly whispered something in Eden's ear.
He quickly smiled at me, grabbing his keys: "it was nice to meet my little sister's girlfriend, hopefully, we meet soon again."
I nodded, knowing everything that came out of this guys mouth was faker than the lips of the majority of girls in my school.
Eden had been quiet the whole time he was here, which was so not like her. He was her brother, yet she acted far from natural, he had to be more than a brother, more than just a gang member to make her seem so tense, leading me to the conclusion that he must've been the actual gang leader. It wasn't that hard to figure out really, considering Blake was far gone by now, yet Eden still seemed to be out of it.
I walked to her, wrapping my arms around her waist, lifting her chin so that she was looking at me.
"What's wrong, beautiful?" I softly asked.
Her expression quickly changed back to the normal one: "nothing, let me cook something for you."
I knew she was lying and it crushed me because this girl was slowly becoming my everything, even if I was yet to admit it. I wanted to be able to be everything to her too, be the shoulder to lean on and all that jazz. But I wasn't, and I needed to know why. I had a feeling it was because of the gang she was a part of.
That moment, when I looked at my gorgeous girlfriend cooking, I decided I would find out what was going on. I would be my private investigator. Because I needed to protect what was dear to me and in order to do that, I had to know everything there was to know.
I would even go as far as spying on the worlds most dangerous gang to protect the one that matters to me and find out a way out for both of us. Be careful what you wish for, my gut feeling warned.
But I ignored it, again, because I was too lost in the girl in front of me, willing to ignore all of the lumps in the throat, all the red flags and even my subconsciousness only for the fuzzy feeling I got when it was good. So far it was mostly good, making it was rather easy.
I smiled, taking quiet steps towards her, hugging her from behind, kissing her neck. She sighed, soft laughter leaving her lips.
That was the sound I wanted to hear for the rest of my life. That was the sound because of which I was willing to put my life at risk, unaware of the fact I already was.

We were dancing to the music, shaking our bodies together, whilst laughing at our childish dance moves.
It felt as if the time was frozen right then and there, and for all I knew, I wouldn't of minded if it did. I wanted to only live in this moment as it was pure euphoria filled with carefreeness, happiness, and joy.
Suddenly someone turned off the music. We smiled at each other and I kissed Edens nose before we turned to the person decided to ruin our little moment.
Lucy was looking at us, a smile on her lips and a huge grocery bag in her arms.
"So nice to see you again, Ruby," she winked at me.
"You too, Lucy. Let me help you with the bag," I walked over, grabbing her bag, placing it on the counter.
"Thanks, sweetie," she glared at Eden, who was grinning, "Ed, you better learn from your girlfriend."
"Mom! I am the best kid anyone could wish for," Eden put her hand on heart, pretending to be offended.
"Yeah, yeah, you've been causing me trouble ever since you got planted in my stomach," Lucy replied, bored with her, taking out the products from the bag.
"And there we go again..." Eden rolled her eyes, stealing pudding from the bag.
Lucy slapped her arm, taking the pudding from her: "go and buy your own pudding!"
"But mom!" Eden whined.
I smiled at them, finding amusement in their bickering.
"Hey, Lu?" I asked before I could forget.
"Yes, dear?" she was still taking out the products.
"My parents would like to meet you if you don't mind?" I smiled, worried about her response.
She looked up, her brows furrowed and eyes squinted, a minute of silence following after. "Sure, how about dinner tonight?" she offered.
"Dinner sounds great," I smiled.
Eden once again rolled her eyes: "if you're going to use me as a slave, like that one time your date came for a dinner, then you'll have to pay me."
She glared at Eden: "fine, 4 chocolate puddings."
"10," Eden glared back.
"6, that's my final offer."
"8 and I'll throw in a desert," Eden grinned, knowing she'll win it.
Lucy sighed, rolling her eyes: "deal."
"Eden, can you come upstairs with me? I need you to help me with this homework.." I laughed at their bickering, trying to sound as innocent as possible.
Lucy raised an eyebrow at me, smiling knowingly.
"What homework? It's holidays-" Eden started, but I grabbed her arm, dragging her with me.
As soon as we were in her room, I closed the door behind us, pushing her against it.
"Someone's in the mood," she smirked.
"Shut up," I said, kissing her hungrily, lifting her shirt and eventually removing it.
She stared at me, her eyes a darker shade. There it is, there's my girl, I smiled in victory. She moved her arms to my thighs, picking me up, carrying me to the bed and placing me on it.
"The things you make me feel, Ruby," she said, crawling on top of me, lifting my shirt with her hand, leaving torturing kisses from my lower stomach up, eventually reaching my neck, making me shiver all over.
Right before she could kiss me, I flipped us around, kissing her jawline and reaching her chest, my arms automatically reaching around her to open her bra. She stopped my arm.
"Wait, babe," s
he smiled, shaking her head, "isn't this too quick?"
I shook my head, kissing her as I nibbled on her lip. Biting it, I pulled on it softly.
She sighed: "fuck, Ruby."
My arm found its way to her pants, opening them. "No, no, no, Ruby," she stopped my arm from going further, grabbing it.
I furrowed my brows, not knowing where this was coming from. She was very experienced when it came to girls, having slept with only God knows how many girls in the past. I was an incredibly confident girl, but this made me feel the most self-conscious little mice you could imagine.
Only now, looking down at her I realized she was the only one with pieces of clothing gone. Was I not good enough for her? Is she even attracted to me? Is there something wrong with my body, or maybe I wasn't even her type?
