My Wolf and me Page 11

Sitting at our table in the kitchen was a little confusing. It was normally Romy sitting next to me on the floor. Now, it was Sebastian in a chair with my parents.

My dad asked, “Who are your parents, Sebastian?”

“No one we know,” I said in a nervous hurry. “They moved here recently.”

My father nodded and dropped that subject but was right on to the next. “So you wish to date my daughter, young man?”

I cringed in embarrassment, but Sebastian’s face lit up. “Yes, sir. She’s so willing to explore and learn.”

Needless to say, my dad’s shoulders bunched up, and his face looked alarmed with what I might be taught by my suitor.

I mumbled to Sebastian, “Clarify what I’m willing to explore.”

Clueless about what his words had insinuated, Sebastian enthusiastically added, “Where to begin?”

  My dad went pale.

  “God and responsibilities—”

  “Responsibilities?” Mom asked.

Sebastian leaned forward, exuding passion. “Yes. Our everyday actions can affect the ones we care for. So always respect and cherish someone’s well-being.”

My parents looked at each other with wide eyes.

“Marley’s view on the world not only impresses me—humbles me—but it makes me want to be a better man.”

Yes, it was cheesy. It was definitely over the top, but when said with such sincerity, anyone who heard Sebastian’s words knew he meant each one. My parent’s lips slowly turned up, and my suitor was as welcome as could be.

At the end of the extremely successful evening, Sebastian lied again, saying his father was coming to pick him up, and left out the front door.

Dad exhaled deeply. “I really like him, Amelia.”

My mom was headed to the back door. “Me, too! He felt so familiar to me, and wow, does he have it bad for our daughter, Everett.” She opened the door and sang out, “Romy!” She turned back to us. “That’s whose eyes Sebastian has. Romy’s.” She mumbled, “How’s that for a coincidence?”

A beautiful gray wolf came running across the yard, wagging his tail. I knelt and opened my arms. Romy happily nuzzled me. “Missed you, my Romy.”

My mother and father had asked Sebastian to come back the next night. I assumed we were in for another great evening, but we were off to a rocky start. Sebastian walked through the front door and shook my dad’s hand.

He studied Sebastian and said, “I used to have a shirt just like that.”

Sebastian and I were two deer caught in headlights. I couldn’t believe how careless I had gotten.

My mom graciously said, “There is no shame in shopping at the thrift shop.”

Dad patted Sebastian’s shoulder. “Of course not. A man too proud to do so is a man who has questionable character values.” He laughed. “I guess my shirt wanted to come home!”

My mom joined in his laughter while Sebastian and I attempted to join but sounded more like nervous hyenas. As we sat on the couch and chairs, I figured the night couldn’t get worse.

“I feel like I know you, Sebastian,” said my mom, looking at him adoringly.

Sebastian smiled as if recognizing her love. “Maybe because I already feel at home. You both have been so welcoming to me. Thank you for that. I was nervous.”

My dad laughed. “When I met Amelia’s dad, I thought I was going to shit my pants.”

“Everett!” my mom hollered in embarrassment.

  “What?”

Sebastian laughing with my parents was an out-of-body experience for me. I watched them interact, feeling my life had blended into my dream. Fear of this moment had melted away, and hope had taken its place. I allowed myself to fantasize about Sebastian and me having a place of our own someday and us coming to my parents’ house for holiday dinners.

Before I knew it, two weeks had passed, and Sebastian had become the son they never had. My ignorant bliss continued.

Had I only known what damage lies could cause.

I hadn’t been sleeping more than a few hours when I woke to Sebastian. He was sleeping behind me, but his snuggling was different. Sebastian had his hands on my hips, pulling my rump into his front, and a certain body part of Sebastian’s was a tad bit… excited. Not being completely ignorant of sex, I quickly assumed that he must be having an interesting dream. I giggled. “Sebastian.”

He said nothing, just kept pulling me to him.

  I whispered louder, “Sebastian?”

Completely unaware of what he had been doing, Sebastian groggily snuggled closer to me and sweetly asked, “Are you okay?”

I couldn’t stop grinning as I looked over my shoulder to see his face. “Yes. Are you?”

His eyes opened, and he looked confused. “I think so. Why?”

My chuckle was barely containable. “Umm, you have… new… growth.”

  “Growth?”

I rolled over to face him, giggling, and then I pointed to his private area. Still perplexed, Sebastian looked to where I had pointed. He only had boxers on, so it was clear. Sebastian was having his first erection. His eyes popped out of his head. “What’s wrong with me?”

I touched his chest, still smiling. “Too bad my parents don’t pay for Cinemax. I heard their late-night shows could sum this up for you. Sebastian, you know how you’ve been changing inside? Becoming a little more possessive of me with scents?”

He nodded but was not smiling. I think he believed he was dying.

“Well, that inside change is now becoming evident, on the outside.”

“Marley, what does this mean?” Sebastian practically gasped.

“Shh, you’re okay. This is very normal for guys.”

He took a relieved breath but motioned his hand for more of an explanation.

I shook my head in disbelief. “I guess I’m all you’ve got as a teacher. Okay, umm, remember when we saw that couple kissing on TV?” He nodded. “Well, sometimes kissing leads to touching—”

Before I could say more, Sebastian interrupted, “Why?”

“Uh, because it’s supposed to feel good—bring you pleasure.”

  “Have you been touched?”

“Er, uh, only a little. Anyway, your girlfriend or companion can touch you, or you can touch yourself.”

He pointed to his new acquaintance. “Here?”

“Yes.” I confirmed. He reached down to begin experimenting. I whisper-screamed, “Not now!”

Sebastian stopped. “I thought you said it will bring me pleasure.”

  “Yes, but I’m here.”

  “I know.”

“I don’t think I should watch you—you—uh, bring yourself to climax.”

  “Climax?”

“Sweet Jesus, why me?” I asked myself, then answered Sebastian, “Yes, climax, orgasm. Once your private area”—I awkwardly pointed again—“down there gets really happy, it produces stuff to make babies.”

  “Reproduction.”

“Yes! Reproduction,” I said as softly as possible.

  “Does that feel good, too?”

I shrugged. “Some say so. I personally wouldn’t know.”

He smiled eagerly. “Let’s try it.”

“Easy there, Wolf Boy. We are not quite ready for all that. We just started the kissing part.”

Sebastian looked happy. “Okay, you said touching is next. Show me how.”

My jaw dropped. “What? Listen, sometimes you say things that are… umm… questionable, especially to other people.”

“Oh. If I do this again, will you tell me?”

“Yes, and then you can cover it up by saying ‘Gotcha.’”

  “Got-cha?”

“Yes. Gotcha,” I teased, trying to cover up
what I was truly thinking about, about how much I really wanted to touch him—to know what he felt like down there, but my parents were downstairs sleeping. It just didn’t feel right. Biting my bottom lip, I stayed quiet.

  “Marley?”

I refocused. “Uh, yeah. Tell you what… my parents are leaving for a couple of days over spring break. Why don’t we… experiment then?”

His greedy smile was his answer.

The next couple of nights were full of desperate kisses and anticipation of alone time.

“Are you sure you’ll be okay?” My mom stood with a packed bag in her hand.

My dad kissed my cheek. “Amelia, only a madman would break into this house with a two-hundred-pound wolf standing guard.” He chuckled as he took her bag and headed out the front door.

My mom knelt in front of Romy. “You’d probably die for her. Wouldn’t you, Romy?”

She received two barks and a lick across the face.

My mom stood, smiling. “If he just licked his butt, I’m going to shower.”

  One bark. No butt licking.

  Worried arms circled me again.

“Mom, I’m a big girl. Go! Have a great time.”

“Okay, but we will be three hours away, so if you need to, call Sebastian, and we will rush home.” She headed for the door then turned back and whispered, “Don’t tell your father I said that. He may love that boy, but, well, he’s a dad, and you’re his little girl.” Then she was out the front door.

I loudly exhaled. “Didn’t think they were ever going to leave.”

I watched my dad’s truck exit the driveway. Romy ran up the stairs. I knew he was as excited as I was. We were having alone time to take another step in the physical spectrum of our relationship.

Within moments, Sebastian trotted down the steps in only jeans. My heart began to pound as shivers caused havoc in the body while I rushed to Sebastian. He had a sinister grin as he approached me. My arms greedily opened, wanting anything he had to offer. Lips crushed to mine as his arms aggressively pulled me to him. I was delighted as our tongues began to battle with a ravishing hunger—

  Ring!

Struggling for air, Sebastian and I both suspiciously looked at the kitchen phone ringing on the wall. My parents were gone, and their few friends knew this. Sebastian’s arms tightened around me as he begged, “Please don’t answer that.”

We started hungrily kissing again, but then I worried. “It could be important.”

In between kisses, Sebastian said, “You know who it is.”

Keeping our lips connected, I walked backward toward the phone. “It’s Friday night. T and Hound are busy.”

“I want to be busy,” Sebastian growled.

  Shiver.

  Moan.

I leaned back and answered the phone. “Hello?”

Sebastian groaned again, but this time it wasn’t the happy kind.

  “Your parents gone?” Trevor asked.

“Uh, yeah,” I answered with much confusion.

“Good. Me and Hound are coming over.”

  “Wait—”

  Click.

A not-so-happy Sebastian glared at me.

As innocently as possible, I shrugged. “You were right?”

With determination, Sebastian began kissing me again. “I need you, Marley.”

My body yearned for his as we kept talking through needy kisses. “We can kiss ’til they get here, then I’ll tell them to leave.”

“I refuse to be Romy tonight.”

I was devouring him. “I know. Just you and me.”

Sebastian and I became so consumed with the freedom we were experiencing that I hadn’t realized we’d backed ourselves to the couch. My knees bent, and Sebastian’s body, more than willing, followed mine. With not enough room for both of us, Sebastian was forced to lie on top of me. I felt Sebastian having a repeat performance of the other night.

  Sebastian froze. “Marley?”

“It’s okay. It’s normal, remember?” I tried to soothe him. “Shh… relax and kiss me.”

Sebastian’s next kiss started off hesitantly but slowly deepened as his body released its tension and melted into mine. It is remarkable how your body knows what to do when it is truly aroused by delicious kissing. Sebastian and I were completely immersed in the heat of the moment, allowing our bodies to move against one another. I had experienced Trevor moving his body against mine before, but my body had never responded. With Sebastian, I felt a deep ache, pleading for more of him as my hips moved involuntarily.

Our pants and grunts were rhythmically in unison until Sebastian threw his face into my neck, struggling terribly. “Oh, God, they’re coming, and we don’t want to be interrupted.”

In the heat of passion, I repeated, “No, we don’t,” thinking he was speaking of us.

I heard a vehicle approaching my house, but when my eyes opened, I was scared for Trevor and Jimmy because we was not Sebastian and me. It was Sebastian and Romy. The young man on top of me looked up at the window above my head and showed shadows that hinted he was about to transition into Romy, not just flash.

I whispered, “No, no, no,” but to no avail. Sebastian bravely fought Romy’s appearance while Romy growled at the unwanted visitors outside. I could see Sebastian struggling with all his might. His jaw clenched, and his eyes strained.

That moment was as surreal as it was frightening. I had no choice but to scold the shadow of the hairy version of Sebastian. “Romy! You stop this right now!”

Romy faded away, and Sebastian collapsed on top of me and tiredly whispered, “Thank you.”

Muffled by my home’s walls, I heard Jimmy laughing and Trevor saying, “Good to hear Romy’s still a pain in the ass.”

I kissed the side of Sebastian’s face and all that I could reach while he rested in the crook of my neck. I quietly told him, “I’ll try to get them to leave.”

An exhausted Sebastian mumbled, “I don’t know why Romy gets this way with you. I don’t want to be so possessive.”

A knock vibrated off the back door, so I whispered, “He’s a wolf and is treating me as he would if I were a wolf too.” I slid out from under Sebastian and joked, “A wolf he apparently has a major crush on.”

Sebastian slowly rolled over, smiling. “I have a crush on you, too.”

Walking to the door backward, I almost tripped and fell because I was enamored by the handsomeness on my couch. With needy regret, I opened the door. “Hey, guys. I’m sorry you made the trip for nothing, but I’m laying low tonight.”

“Great,” Trevor said as he walked right past me, entering my house, not concerned with my annoyance. He suddenly stopped, seemingly surprised to see Sebastian on the couch—shirtless.

“Oh.” He grinned at me. “No wonder Romy is misbehaving. I see his jealous trait is still intact.”

I was a little shameful but happy that Trevor would now understand why he needed to leave.

“Glad I brought plenty of beer.”

  Or not.

  “Beer? I don’t think that’s a good idea,” I tried to explain.

Jimmy followed Trevor in with another twelve-pack, asking, “Where is Mr. Jealous anyway?”

“Uh,” I stuttered. “Uh, put him outside—the front door—just now. Yes, I just now put him outside by way of the front door.”

I was pretty sure my babble would be questioned but, yet again, I was wrong. Jimmy looked at Sebastian. “Boy Toy! How’s it going?” Jimmy stopped in his tracks. “Damn, my friend, do you live at a gym or something?”

I glanced at Sebastian, now standing, inspecting himself, thinking something was wrong, and I admired his incredibly built physique.

Trevor glared at the abs of perfection and mumbled, “They’re not th
at defined.” He told me, “Don’t be ridiculous,” summing up all the facts in guy language. “Beer is always a good idea. And Marlena! Spring break, baby. Besides, your friend here looks like he could afford a few calories in his diet.” He headed to the kitchen. “What do you do, Sebastian, run to school every day?”

Sebastian went to open his trap until my eyes warned him not to say, “Yes, as a matter of fact I do.” The subject was dropped. And apparently, Sebastian spoke the guy language, because next thing I knew, he was next to me, asking, “Beer?”

Jimmy put beer in my refrigerator, cheering. “Boy Toy!”

Trevor was already handing one to Sebastian, when I said, “Wait!”

Sebastian looked so intrigued. “I’ve always wondered what Everett drinks every night after work.”

Sympathy made me feel guilty about trying to deny Sebastian something he considered a mystery.

Trevor simply looked confused. “How do you know what Marlena’s dad does every night?”

“Uh, I told him,” I rushed to explain.

Walking into the kitchen, Trevor said to Sebastian, “Are you telling me you’ve never had a beer?”

Sebastian shook his head no as he sniffed the bottle. Jimmy and Trevor both went motionless, watching Sebastian. I saw Sebastian examine things all the time and didn’t realize how odd it looked until that moment.

Jimmy asked, “Uh, Mar-cakes, what’s he doing?”

I took Sebastian’s bottle from him and opened it, rolling my eyes. “He’s just messing with you guys.” I handed the bottle back to Sebastian, hissing, “Nobody smells their beer bottle.”

Sebastian nodded at me, understanding, and then smiled at T and Hound. “Gotcha!”

My palms slammed to my face. “Oh, dear Lord.” I hadn’t been serious about that cover we discussed, but Trevor and Jimmy burst out laughing, both talking at the same time.
