He flipped her over and got her under him.

  “Good.”

“Why is that good?” she asked as she looked at him quickly undo his belt and pants.

“Because I don’t think I have it in me to contain myself until we get to bed.” He pushed his pants off and she gently put her leg on her pants before she pushed them off so that they gathered around her ankles. He kissed her again and once more caressed her full breasts as he settled in between her legs. He pulled her panties aside and whimpered when he brushed against her wetness. He could already feel the warmth of her wet pussy rubbing against his sensitive cock head.

“I should be on top, you know,” she said in a whisper as he pushed his cock into her.

“We will work on that,” he said just as he began moving himself in and out of her slowly.

She was moaning as she felt him claiming her over and over. Even though it had been so long ever since she first got together with Axel, she had never really gotten used to how much his cock filled her. She wrapped her legs around his waist pulling him deeper still.

His head was in her shoulder and he was working her hard. By this time, she was moaning loudly and she didn’t even care that the entire house was filled with their moans. He was going into her so hard and so fast his balls were slamming against he and she loved every minute of it. She could feel him occasionally stopping obviously trying to gain his composure, but it only made her want him more. She flipped them over getting him under her.

“My turn,” she said as she interlaced his fingers with hers before she began grinding her hips on him.

“Not so fast,” he pleaded as she gently began moving herself up and down his cock.

“Believe me, I have absolutely no intention to take this fast,” she said, still working herself on and off his cock.

He was caressing her and moaning softly as she went on grinding her hips on him. It was not long before she began moving faster, literally dropping herself onto his cock. He was moaning and then groaning before he felt himself exploding into her. But she did not stop working him. She was too close to her own orgasm.

“Baby,” he moaned. “I am…it’s going to happen again…”

“I know. I want it to,” she said as she rolled her hips on him making it impossible for him to hold back any longer.

“Fuck!” she cried out as she felt herself come undone, prompting his own second orgasm. She collapsed on him as he slipped out of her. “Yeah, those four days felt like forever.”

  He nodded.

  “Yes, they did.”

“I suppose that settles the dog talk, huh?” she said as she lay on his chest. He stroked her hair and took a long deep breath.

“Yes, that settles the dog talk, but you give me half an hour and I will show you just how angry I am.”

“Since we have already settled on the fact that today is not going to be a working day, I am looking forward to that.”

A smile played on her lips. This was always how they handled most of their fights and it worked for them. Plus, their communication both verbally and sexually had always been on point. She had been wrong when she woke up. This was turning out to be a better day than she had thought.

After spending the whole weekend indoors, Trina was a little more exhausted than usual on Monday morning. It was no wonder that she was late getting to the office. She had just walked into the office when Kate walked in holding a yellow envelope.

  “Good morning, Trina,” she said.

“Good morning, Kate. How is your morning?”

  “Good.”

“And how is my day looking?” Trina asked as she sat down.

“A couple of meetings. The first one being with Lucas in an hour and then a prospective client, Bree Fonseca...”

“Wait,” Trina said, cutting Kate short.

“Bree Fonseca as in the Bree Fonseca Fabric?” she asked. “As in the fashion line?”

  Kate nodded.

  “Yes, the fashion line.”

“Oh, wow,” Trina said, smiling. “Do you think they are looking for a new legal partner because if they are, they would be bringing in a huge chunk in retainer. I would be a top player with the likes of HHM.”

  Kate smiled and nodded.

“That would be great.” She walked up to her desk and handed her the envelope. “And speaking of HHM, this came for you this morning and the delivery guy said to tell you they asked you to make sure you save this one.”

“Will do,” Trina said. “Please get me a coffee on your way back. Would you?”

  Kate nodded.

  “Of course.”

She walked out and Trina looked around her desk trying to find her letter opener.

“Where the hell do things disappear to when you need them the most?” she wondered as she looked at her desk. “I’ll just grab Kate’s,” she thought as she stood up.

But as soon as she got up, she felt a sudden wave of dizziness come over her. She did not know why but it was like she was suddenly alone in the world and even though she was trying to reach for the edge of her desk, she could not seem to find it. She could have sworn that she was standing literally inches away from the desk but somehow, she just could not find something to hold on to and before she knew it, she was falling into darkness…into nothingness.

Axel rarely panicked mostly because he was always a very composed man. But when he got a call from his wife’s assistant telling him that Trina had collapsed in her office, he could have sworn that he got a series of mini-heart attacks. He did not even care that he had an important meeting in a few minutes. Whatever it was, he knew that it had to be serious because even after regaining consciousness, Kate told her that Trina was still dizzy and a little disoriented.

The drive to hospital seemed longer than usual and a couple of times, he literally missed death by a whisker. By the time he got to hospital forty minutes later, he was breathing hard…practically panting.

“Trina Crews...she came here…” he started when he got to the nurse’s station.

The woman seated behind the desk shook her head.

“There is no Trina Crews, but there is a Trina Crews-Anderson.”

“That’s her. That’s my wife. How is she?” he asked in a panic.

“Well, she is…” the nurse started before she looked up. “Actually, this is her doctor coming now.”

He turned to see a tall brown haired man walking towards him. He could not help but feel a sense of familiarity as he looked at the doctor.

“Mr. Anderson. Nice to see you again.”

  Axel shook his head.

“I’m sorry. Have we met before?” he asked and the doctor shrugged.

“Well, kind of. I was at your wedding reception.”

  Axel frowned.

“Okay…I’m sorry, but I have to ask how my wife is. I’m kind of freaking out here.”

“She is fine. She is just a little anemic which happens sometimes to most women in her condition.”

  Axel shook his head.

  “Her condition?”

“Yes, she is pregnant.” The doctor raised an eyebrow over the other. “You didn’t know?”

Axel smiled and shook his head.

“No, I didn’t…I thought we still had to work a little harder. Maybe a few more weeks.”

  The doctor smiled.

  “Well, congratulations. You are expecting.”

Axel ran his fingers through his hair and laughed. He did not know what he was expecting when he got the call, but it was definitely not news that they were expecting.

  “What?” he asked, obviously astounded.

“I’m surprised you didn’t know sooner. She is around ten weeks pregnant.”

  Axel shook his head.

  “But she was still…you know…the monthly thing…”

“You mean her period?” the doctor asked and Axel nodded. “When that happens during pregnancy, it is usually called spotting.”
/>
“I’ve heard of that. It used to happen a lot when she had an IUD. That is why she switched to the pill.”

“Well, if it is still happening now then it is a sign that her body is under more strain than it should be.”

Axel nodded and ran his fingers through his hair.

“So, what do I do now?”

  The doctor smiled.

“Everything is going to be just fine.”

“Really?” Axel asked and the doctor nodded.

“Look, why don’t you go and share the news with your wife? She might be a little groggy. We had to sedate her because when she woke up....”

“Wait,” Axel cut him shot. “She is up?”

“Not really,” the doctor went on. “We gave her a mild sedative. Just something to relax her because she was trying to get out of bed, talking about some meeting or something. But that was a couple of hours ago. Once her IV is done, you can take her home, but she needs to take it easy at least for the next two days.”

  Axel nodded.

“Of course.” He had started walking away when he stopped and walked back to the nurse’s station. “I still feel like I should know your name,” he said as he looked at the doctor.

“Peter Hahn, your wife’s OBGYN,” he said smiling and Axel nodded.

“I’m sorry for not recognizing you…but…you get it, right?” he asked and the doctor nodded. “I’ll go talk to Trina now,” he said before walking away.

  Chapter 4

The last thing Trina remembered when her eyes fluttered open was being in her office. She did not remember much about that except for that one fact. Her head felt heavy and for some reason, she just could not bring herself to get up.

“Don’t strain yourself. Just lay back,” she heard her husband’s voice.

“Axel? Where am I?” she asked as she looked around.

It was not until she felt a piercing pain in her arm that she realized that she had an IV in her.

“You’re in hospital,” he said before she could say anything else.

“Why? What happened?” she asked and he smiled at her. He took her hand in his and brought it up to his lips to kiss it softly. “And what the hell is this thing in my arm? It hurts like shit.”

“I am not sure. Just some electrolytes or something.”

Trina took a long deep breath.

“I don’t know why, but my head is killing me,” she said as she closed her eyes.

“What’s the last thing you remember?” he asked and she exhaled loudly.

  “I don’t know…I was in the office…there was a letter and…” She shrugged. “I don’t know. Why am I here anyway?”

“You passed out in your office.”

“What?” she asked as she looked at him. “But I feel just fine except for this headache.”

“You’re fine. It’s just you are a little anemic.”

“Anemia?” she shook her head. “I have never had anemia in my life.”

“Well, it happens a lot especially when you are expectant,” Axel said, smiling and she raised an eyebrow over the other.

  “What?”

“Yeah, your OBGYN just gave me the news.”

“But I just threw out my pills the other day.”

“Well,” Axel started, smiling. “Remember when you told me that sometimes you forget to take the daily dose and I stopped you from doubling down?”

  She shrugged.

“Yeah, I forget, but one day should not make such a big difference.”

  He laughed.

“Remember that trip we took to the country when my parents were in town?” he asked and she nodded.

“Yeah, that was a terrible five days, but what about it?”

“We were stranded for days in that damn lake house because of the blocked road and we were at each other like rabbits. Something about you loving the idea of hooking up right under my parents’ noses because it made you feel like you were back in high school.”

  Trina smiled.

  “It did.”

“Well, you didn’t have your pills then.”

“Yes, but it was just a few days and I have been getting my period.”

“Actually, you have been spotting. A little heavily given that you stayed home last month while Aunt Flow was in town,” he said.

“So, it happened that week at the lake house?” she asked and he nodded.

“Dr. Hahn told me that you are about ten weeks along. So, it makes sense.”

She shook her head and felt her eyes well up.

“We’re pregnant?” she asked and he nodded. “Are you sure?”

He placed a hand on her tummy and nodded again.

“Very sure. Christmas is going to come early for the Andersons.”

She bit her lip and a tear rolled down her cheek.

“That explains why I have been feeling sick lately.”

  He nodded.

  “Yes, it does.”

“So, it had nothing with my ex being my new client?” she asked and he forced out a laugh. “That sucks.”

“So, speaking of work,” he started, his smile fading. “Your doctor says that you have to take it easy for the next few days. And I support that.”

“But I have work,” she said and he shook his head.

“I know that. But telling me that you have been having your regular period even though you have been pregnant for almost three months tells me that you are a little at risk and you have to take it easy.”

“But I hate being alone at home,” she said and he smiled.

“You are not going to be alone. I am taking the next few days off to help you out.” He leaned in and kissed her forehead softly.

  “Thank you.”

“Anything for you and my future son or daughter.”

  She forced out a laugh.

“Don’t you have a preference?” she asked and he shrugged.

“I don’t care what we get. A boy or girl…as long as we get a healthy child. Ten fingers and ten toes, I will be happy.”

He kissed her forehead again and then brought his head down to kiss her mouth.

“So, are you going to ask my assistant to bring my laptop home so that I can at least get some work done?” she asked and he shook his head.

  “No, no work.”

“But I will be in bed the whole time. I promise.”

“Mental strain is just as bad as physical strain if not worse.” He stroked her hair softly. “We will be staying in bed. And maybe I can finally get to watch the sixth season of that show you forced me to like.”

  Trina shook her head.

“I never forced you to like anything. I just introduced to Game of Thrones and you got hooked. Admit it.”

He took a long deep breath.

  “You know you love it.”

  He shrugged.

“I do love it but it’s been five seasons and this dreaded winter still hasn’t come.”

  She smiled.

“What is that smile? Does it finally come in the sixth season?” he asked and she looked at the IV.

“When will this thing be done anyway? I am kind of ready to do a ten-hour binge that does not require work.”

“Winter is still not here in that season either?” He shook his head. “I don’t get it. We have winter at least once a year.”

“You have to get the gist of the story to understand what they mean when they talk of the long winter.”

  He nodded.

“Fine. The story has not been a disappointment to me this far. I don’t think it is going to start now.”

  She giggled.

“Oh, believe me it will be perfect. George R. R. Martin is yet to disappoint millions of fans across the world.” She turned to look at him. “Now that we are going to be spending a lot of time indoors, maybe we could find other ways of passing the time?” She ran her hand up his thigh and he sighed silently when she felt her hand on his cock. “Maybe make another bet?”

He put this hand on hers and pulle
d it away, exhaling softly. He kissed her cheek and brought her hand up to his lips. He kissed her hand softly and shook his head.

“I want you every single day and it kills me that I can’t have you right now, right here,” he whispered.

“Is that a long-worded way of denying me?” she asked and he looked into her eyes.

“I am not denying you anything. We just have to wait a few days until you are healthy again and I bet you I will make you see a different kind of heaven,” he said just as Dr. Hahn walked into the room.

“Whoa, there,” he said making the two turn their attention to the door. “That will also have to wait.”

  “What?” Trina asked.

“You cannot be intimate. Not just yet,” Dr. Hahn said as he handed her a leaf from his prescription pad. “You are still spotting and that is not a good thing. Take sex off the table for now until the end of the week at least. But I would like to see you first if you don’t mind. Maybe do a proper sonogram and see just how far along you are.”

  Axel looked at Trina.

“Hate to say I told you so,” he whispered. “But I told you so.”

“Okay, I will see you next week then,” she said.

“It’s a date,” Dr. Hahn said.

  *****

The next few weeks were pure torture for Trina. Staying in bed all day long was harder than most people insinuated. She would have probably been okay with a few days in bed but taking almost two weeks being in bed, not even being able to work from home was a little too hard on her. She was not used to not being active and the fact that the only time she was allowed to be out of bed was when she was going to the bathroom or when she was taking a shower and a quick one at that, she was not sure what it was, but she knew that she wanted nothing else but to just go back to work. Get back to normal life, but she knew that from here on out, life was going to be anything but normal.

When she got ready on Wednesday morning, Trina was feeling a little nauseated by the smell of eggs coming from downstairs. She made her way down to the kitchen and Axel smiled at her when he saw her.

“I made you breakfast. Scrambled eggs and a bowl of fruit.”

She frowned and leaned against the wall.

“Baby, this is so sweet, but I swear the eggs smell like death to me right now,” she said. “But I will have the fruit.”
