From the time we’d started dating, which was right after I finished my physical therapy, our lives had moved at an incredibly fast pace. Between our growing careers and planning our own wedding, it felt like we’d barely had time to sit back, relax, and enjoy each other, but thankfully, we were about to spend two weeks in a tropical paradise with lots of time to start working on that family we both had decided it was time for.
Every time Kymbree was around Everett, Scarlett and Mason’s little boy, I loved the way her face would light up and I couldn’t wait to see her around our own kids. With all of the energy and patience she was blessed with, I knew she’d be the best mother in the world. And I wanted to give her that joy.
I was also happy that Scarlett, who we remained close with even after she started touring with Mason, was finally getting the happy ending she’d deserved. Though a lot of people didn’t understand our relationship, especially how close of friends her and Kymbree were after our history, Scarlett would always hold a special place in my heart. If it wasn’t for what we’d shared, the path we’d taken together, I never would’ve found the one for me and she and Mason may have never learn to appreciate the love they had.
All of my life, I’d been a believer that fate would find a way to put us all where we belonged. And as I walked out the front door of my home hand-in-hand with my beautiful wife, leaving to attend the wedding of one of our closest friends, I knew that’s exactly where we were.
