“Tell me? Please? Everything that I’ve come up with just doesn’t seem to fit.”
“All right. I was thinking about Rilynn.”
“Rilynn? That’s . . . Liam, that’s stunning.”
“I thought so too. It’s a variation of Ryland, which means island meadow. It reminded me of you, so I thought I’d change it up a little just as you did yours.”
“Rilynn Jensen,” she repeats, and her lips curve up into a ravishing smile while she looks down at her stomach. “Hi, Rilynn.”
I chuckle and lean forward to place my lips against her bare stomach. “She’s going to have your feisty spirit, baby doll.”
“As long as she gets her father’s looks, I’m all right with that.”
“Nah, I’d like a little more of you in her.”
She rolls her eyes and moves off of me to relax back into the plush cushions and watch the sunset with me. I reach over and take her hand in mine, toying in silence with the rings that I placed on her finger.
By the time either of us makes a move to get up again, the sun has completely set, and the sand before us is glowing with what looks like green-blue stars scattered along the shore.
“Did you know that this happened? Everything is glowing.”
“Yeah, it’s why I decided to bring you here.”
“It’s so damn pretty.”
“Maybe, Isla, but nothing compares to your splendor. The hauntingly stunning beauty that you see in front of you is what you embody.”
“I love you,” she says as she smacks my chest softly.
“I know.”
She snuggles against me as we lie there together and watch the small waves move the glowing particles around before us.
“Liam?”
“Yeah?”
“What happens next?”
“Next? We live our intertwined lives and strive for embodied perfection.”
The End
Thank you for reading this novel. Always remember that it’s never too late for your chance at love. Love who and what matters to you, regardless of what others think and what the world expects from you. Don’t be ashamed of your own story, and don’t judge others because you walked in during a debauched chapter in their book.
With love, Sasha
