I shivered. “I hate bugs. I would have kicked it away no matter what.”

“I can't imagine you hating bugs.” Natalie laughed, pointing at my tattoo.

“Silly woman, that isn't real. But if an actual Devil's Hellions was around, I'd already be out of the apartment.”

Natalie patted my leg. “Don't worry, Breaker, I'll protect you.”

I sneaked my hands under her armpits and tickled her until she apologized.

After we both calmed down, I looked at my fingers. “Might be time to get out now, I'm all pruned.”

Natalie wrapped my arms around her. “But it feels so nice in here.”

I smiled and raked my fingers through her hair. I never wanted to leave. Natalie was someone I could actually commit to. A woman who was my equal. Someone I could love.

  Chapter Twenty

  Natalie

The clock radio next to my bed started to ring at eight in the morning. My hand reached out from under the covers and searched around until I found the snooze button. Strong arms wrapped around me and a sculpted body spooned me from behind. I looked over to see Breaker all naked and smiling next to me.

  “Good morning, Natalie.” Breaker yawned.

“I didn't think you were the type of guy to stay the night.”

“There's always a first for everything.” Breaker kissed me and his morning breath didn't even bother me.

I rolled over and nestled in the nook between his arm and chest. “Can we stay in bed all day?”

Breaker traced his fingers across the bare skin of my arm. “I wouldn't want anything more.”

Was this really happening? Did I really sleep with the biker? I wanted to pinch myself to make sure it wasn't a dream. I'd never felt this happy before. Not even when I graduated from med school or became a real doctor. I always thought I'd dedicate my life to my career—that it would be enough to satisfy me.

  I didn't know what I was missing.

I felt this overwhelming love for Breaker. I'd only known him for a short while but it felt right. Felt like we belonged together. But could this really work? We were so different. Could I stay with an outlaw?

“Do you think we could really work together?”

Breaker lifted my chin until his gaze met mine. “Don't we deserve to be happy?”

I kissed him, feeling his strong embrace. “Yes,” I replied. “How about some breakfast?” I asked.

Breaker nodded. “Sounds fantastic. I didn't know you knew how to cook.”

I laughed. “I don't actually. My sister Winona has been doing all the cooking even though she isn't very good either.”

Breaker cocked an eyebrow.“She's the one that said she'll kill me if I hurt you, right?”

I sucked my lips in. “Yep, she's the one. I'm sorry, she's actually pretty harmless.”

Breaker hid behind the sheets. “I think I'll stay here why you go find us some breakfast.”

I swung my legs over him and straddled his hips. “Don't tell me the great Breaker King is afraid of a girl?”

Breaker swung a pillow out of nowhere and hit me right in the face. He could barely contain his laughter. I scoffed and grabbed my own pillow, swinging with all my might. My hit didn't even phase him. Breaker attacked with his tickling that rendered me useless. I fell over and Breaker rolled on top of me, pinning my arms above my head. His dark eyes gazed into mine, his lips all serious.

“I'm never going to leave you, Natalie Holmes.” He bent down and bit my bottom lip.

“You better not, or I'll hunt you down,” I replied, kissing him passionately.

Maybe an outlaw and a doctor could actually be together?

It was the perfect day for a picnic. The sun was shining brightly and there wasn't a cloud in the sky. A huge crowd was gathering in the park for the annual picnic in Sacks County. I looked to the other end of our flannel blanket and Breaker was sitting up, unloading our lunches from the picnic basket.

I lay back and soaked up the sun, holding my swollen belly. I stretched out my legs and arms, the diamonds on my wedding ring reflected back at me.

“How's our boy doing?” Breaker asked.

“Kicking a lot out. I think he's ready to leave.”

Breaker put his hand on my stomach.“He's definitely my son. Can't wait to get on a bike.”

“Yeah well he better wait until he's old enough.”

Breaker surrendered and gave me a kiss. “Remember our wedding?”

“How could I forget? One hundred bikers and my small family,” I replied.

“I'm glad I got to meet your parents,” he said.

“I'm just glad that they finally made up with Winona. I felt so bad when we got engaged and I had to move out.”

Breaker reached his hand over to mine. “Where is she by the way?”

I looked around and found her walking over with Emily. “How's my little pumpkin?” Winona said, rubbing my belly.

Emily kneeled down next to me. “What's his name going to be, Natalie?”

  “We were thinking about Isaac.”

Her eyes glistened as she smiled and felt my belly. “He's going to be a strong boy just like his father.”

Breaker nodded and I laughed. “Yeah but hopefully he doesn't come out with a Devil's Hellions tattoo already.”

We watched the other MC members set up for the picnic. Big Mike brought over a giant barbecue and he was cooking burgers and hot dogs. Dagger and Slade were sitting at a table arguing over whose Harley was better.

Breaker lay next to me. “Are you happy, Natalie?”

I looked over at him concerned. “Why do you ask? Can't you see the smile on my face?”

“I know but I just want to know if you're truly happy being with me.”

I held his face in my hands. “We've had our ups and downs but I wouldn't change anything. We're about to become a family.” I put his hand on my belly and Breaker felt Isaac kick. “We made that and he's ours.”

Breaker almost started crying. My strong King. My heart couldn't handle the amount of love I felt for him right now.

  “I love you, Mr. King.”

Breaker kissed me. “Love you too, Mrs. King.”

  Description

  His name's Michael.

He was just another guy at the club that wanted me for the night. He was good for a free drink but I cut him loose when he wouldn't tell me what he did for a living. I wasn't going to fall for another nicely dressed, devilishly handsome loser again.

But his job wasn't the only card he kept close to his vest.

Michael had a thirst that couldn't be quenched unless I was around him. I had some special power over him.

Can I control his hunger long enough to make this relationship work?

  Blood Oath

  Chapter One

  Kelly

My parents' house stood before me. The home I had never even seen before.

My feet were frozen in the sidewalk, staring at this piece of architecture that seemed so foreign. The white shutters were faded with chipped paint. The roof was uneven and likely to collapse at any moment. I didn't even want to know what the inside looked like.

You see my father got the bright idea one day to buy a fixer upper as their retirement home. A “forever home” my dad would say. Why my mother ever went along with him in the first place is a question I'll always wonder.

I was away at college when I got the call they were selling my childhood home and moving. I was excited for them but sad that I wouldn't get to see the house I grew up in one last time. I had so many memories there and had no idea why they wanted to move. The hou
se they used to live in had plenty of bedrooms, spacious backyard, and an upgraded kitchen.

It didn't make sense to me.

I was all set to visit them at the new house during Christmas break. I had prepared like my father told me by packing plenty of clothes to get dirty. But after a long semester, I wanted to rest and relax on my break not become a construction worker. It would be a longer drive home than it used to be.

I willed myself to step off the sidewalk and make my way up the brick walkway that led to the red front door. It looked freshly painted and I imagined my mom and dad fighting over what the perfect color would be.

My hand shook as I grasped the door handle. I took in a deep breath and turned. “You can do this, Kelly,” I said aloud.

The door swung open with creepy creaking noise. My eyes immediately focused on the worn-out floor that must've been at least a hundred years old. I didn't even know if it was safe to walk on it without breaking through to the basement below.

My first step inside was iffy at best. The house settled, moaning and begging me to leave. I wanted turn around and run back outside. I knew that this was going to be a bad idea.

I took a few more steps further and noticed the staircase with a white banister. Another freshly painted item courtesy of my father. But the rickety stairs were missing a few steps.

The place was silent. I had hoped to hear my mom cooking in the kitchen or my dad yelling at the football game in the living room.

  But there was nothing.

I explored the house more, doing my best to avoid nails sticking out of the ground and random tools laid about. I made it through the kitchen and to the door that led to the backyard. I opened it to discover the reason my parents picked this place.

The green paradise was something out of a fairy wonderland. A field of grass led to a white gazebo covered in vines. A gigantic oak tree shadowed the entire yard with a swing hanging from one of its many thick branches.

I took off my shoes and walked through the grass barefoot. I had always liked the feel of the blades between my toes since I was little. I walked over to the tree and sat down on the wooden swing. My fingers gripped the coarse rope on both sides as I pushed off.

I tried to fight back the tears. I still hadn't cried since I heard the news.

  –

I had stayed up until four in the morning cramming for a college algebra test that I had at ten in the morning. I lay down in bed, knowing that I would only be able to get a few hours of sleep. My phone rang before I could even shut my eyes.

I didn't usually answer unknown numbers but I got a weird feeling when I saw my phone screen. I answered and listened to the man on the other end.

The blood drained from my face. The phone dropped from my hands before the man was finished talking.

My parents were in a car accident.

The doctor said they tried everything in their power to save them. I didn't need him to finish before I knew the rest.

  They were gone.

  Gone forever.

My mind snapped back to the present. Tears streamed down my face. I fell off the swing and onto my knees. My parent's house was all mine now.

  But I didn't want it.

  I wanted my parents back.

  Chapter Two

  Michael

The bass thumped in my chest. Sweat dripped off the half-naked bodies around me as they jumped up and down on the dance floor. The club was busy for a Thursday night.

Just the way I liked it.

The Titan Club was my favorite out of the rotation. Not too much security, plenty of women who were all too eager to go home with me, and most importantly cheap drinks.

I couldn't go the same club too many times in a row for the risk of being recognized. It was one of the many ways to protect myself.

I stood by the bar with my cold glass of whiskey on the rocks. I stirred the drink with the small straw and took a sip. Even though the alcohol never affected me like it did other people, it still tasted good and made me feel at ease.

I scanned the dance floor, searching through the bodies of women. I had to find the perfect one. I could have anyone I wanted but I didn't want to waste my time with trash. Each woman had to be memorable. Each one had to leave their mark on me.

The music swelled. The crowd raised their hands into the air. The strobe lights made it hard to get a good look at any one girl.

My eyes landed on a brunette. She wore a tight black dress that showed off a lot of legs. She was skinny but not too skinny. I didn't care for the women that threw up after every meal. Their bones protruding from their skin made them look like the undead.

But this brunette was everything I always wanted. She danced among a few friends. Her smile was contagious. I knew she would be mine by the end of the night.

  The hunt was on.

I took a few more sips of my drink and set it back on the bar. I dragged my fingers through my short black hair and waded through the sea of bodies.

Everyone moved in slow motion. My eyes blurred everything else out except for the brunette. The dancers made a path without me having to push my way through.

Her brown hair bounced against her bare shoulders. I could feel the hunger deep in the pit of my stomach. I needed to taste her.

Her girlfriends noticed me first. Their eyes went big and they blushed. It was a normal reaction to my appearance. I singled out the brunette and she finally noticed me. She stopped dancing right there and time stopped.

We stared at each other for eternity. Neither one of us said a word.

I leaned in and whispered in her ear, “Care to have a drink with me?”

I didn't need to see her face to know the answer. It was always the same with every girl. I grabbed her hand and felt lightning go straight through me. Something I'd never felt before. But I ignored it and pulled her through the crowd and to the bar.

We both sat down on stools and I motioned for the bartender. A chick in a white t-shirt with a low v-neck came over. The music was too loud so I showed her my old drink and gave her two fingers. She understood immediately and went to work.

The brunette twiddled her thumbs next to me. Another normal reaction to me. Women got so nervous when I was around. It made it easy to manipulate them.

She leaned over and yelled, “What's your name?”

I never gave out my name to anyone. Even the name on my driver's license was fake. And I didn't need to know the name every woman I met at clubs.

I gave her a smile that said things wouldn't be so easy with me. She almost melted to the floor right in front of me.

The bartender returned with our two drinks. It didn't matter if the brunette liked whiskey or not. She would drink it because I ordered it for her.

She took a sip and winced. “What's your name?” she asked again.

A devilish grin spread across my face. She wasn't going to get any information out of me. And I didn't need to know anything about her. This night would be the last time we'd meet.

But there was something different about her. I watched her as she drank her whiskey through the tiny black straw. Her eyes held secrets.

  A hidden pain.

“Do you want to go somewhere quieter?” I asked. We always went back to a hotel room after a drink. That's how every night went.

She looked deep into my eyes, smiling. She was going to be all mine tonight. The brunette shook her head, taking another sip and setting the glass down on the bar.

“I have to get back to my friends now. Thank you for the drink.” The brunette got off the bar stool and ran back onto the dance floor.

I sat there with the most dumbfounded face. What the fuck was that?

That had never happened to me before. Women couldn't resist me. It just wasn't possible.

But she did it with ease. I thought I had her under my spell but she had me fooled.

Was something wrong with me? I must've been off my game. There wasn't a good explanation.
