Together at the Table Page 31

by Hillary Manton Lodge

Thanks to Aurora Taylor, Jeff Stirling, and Jamie Erickson for answering my WWII France questions, and to Ryan Goettsch for answering questions about fires and emergency response procedures. Thanks to Anna Freedman for answering questions about Jewish holiday traditions. Any and all errors are absolutely mine.

Thanks to Angie Jabine, who hired me as an intern for Northwest Palate magazine ten years ago, an experience that inspired this series. I am also thankful for her willingness, all these years later, to answer questions about garden pests.

Thanks to Lisa Chrisman for lending her family’s heirloom pumpkin-pie recipe to the book and volunteering to test recipes.

I tip my hat to the ladies of the Portland Heights Hat Club, for reading my books, attending functions, and simply being fabulous in general.

Many thanks to my mom for reading the manuscript and doing an early copyedit pass, and for making sure the bits I didn’t think made sense made sense.

Thanks to my family, the one I grew up with and the one I married into. Their care and support has been invaluable through the writing of this series.

And thanks as always to my husband, Danny, for his support and patience during a long deadline season. I couldn’t do what I do without you. Let’s take a vacation soon!
