“So, why don’t you get them?” Stephen questioned as he glanced over at Nina and then back down at Marc.

“Because, my mama said that she ain’t buying no shoes close to hundred dollars.” He said almost with a sad look on his face.

“Marc,” Nina called out feeling a little embarrassed at the way he said it. She then looked over at Stephen. “He’s only five years old.”

“Going on six,” Marc cut in with a shake of the head.

Nina shook her head. “Boy, that’s next year.” She said causing Stephen to laugh. “No, but seriously; he’s only going to mess those shoes up in a week’s time and I ain’t messing up my money fooling with him.”

“What size do you wear?” Stephen asked Marc.

  “A nine,” Marc responded.

“I say if he’s five years old and knows his own shoe size then he definitely should get those red and white Jordon’s. He’s a smart fella. He deserves them.”

Nina frowned. “You must plan on buying them, because I ain’t playing or paying.”

Stephen grinned. He liked Nina’s feisty attitude along with her pretty face, fat ass, and cute smile. “I like you.” He straight up told her.

“Okay, that’s all good, but I need to know if you’re paying for those shoes. Don’t be hyping my youngan up for nothing.” Nina said almost sounding like she was fussing.

Stephen shook his head with a handsome smile spread across his face. “Trust me. I’m a man of my word. Excuse my manners, but my name is Stephen.” He introduced himself while sitting his bags down, and then reaching out his hand to shake hers.

Nina smiled at his calm demeanor as she held her hand out to shake his. “My name is Nina.”

“Ma, can I get these shoes?” Marc asked tugging on Nina’s shirt.

“Yeah, you can get the shoes. Go tell that lady that you want this shoe in a size nine.” Stephen said and I’m going to buy them for you.”

“Yesss!” Marc said like he was a twenty-five year old man stuck in a five year old body. He hurriedly headed to the front counter with the shoe in his hand to ask for his shoe size.

  Stephen laughed. “He’s funny.”

“He is,” Nina agreed with a shake of the head.

“So, how many kids do you have?”

“Just two,” Nina responded. “My three year old is with my mama.”

“I see,” Stephen commented. “Well, you may as well get a pair of shoes for her, too.”

“Yeah right,” Nina said like it was unbelievable for a man to meet her for the first time and want to treat her kids to such expensive shoes.

“I’m serious.” Stephen said. He liked Nina and more than anything he wanted to make that first impression one that she would never forget. “You have a man?” he slid in.

“Actually, I don’t.” Nina quickly responded.

Stephen smiled. That was all he needed to know. He pulled out his wallet and counted out two-hundred and fifty dollars, and then handed it to her. “This should cover the shoes.”

Nina stood there in shock. She couldn’t believe it. He was already proving himself and she didn’t even know him. “Most men don’t do shit like this.” She said.

“I’m not most men,” He chimed in. “Oh, do you read books or shop online at Amazon?” He questioned noticing the Amazon gift card tucked behind his money.

“What kinda question is that?” Nina pondered.

“Well, I’d won this Amazon gift card at work for $50.00, but I don’t need it.”

Nina smiled. “Well, I do read so that would come in handy.”

“Well, say no more. Here is the Amazon gift card, too. Maybe you’ll think of me while you’re reading.”

“This card is already scratched off she said looking at the numbers on the back of it.”

“I did that trying to pick out some lottery numbers, but it was more letters than numbers,” he laughed. “The card is good though.”

“You’re not going to stalk me once I’ve taken your money and this card, are you?”

Stephen laughed. “If you don’t call me, I might.” He said. “I’m gonna be your next baby daddy.” Nina laughed out loud and in less than ten minutes, they had exchanged numbers.

Once Stephen had exited the shoe store, Nina stood there as she watched Marc try on the shoes with the help of a store assistant. She looked down at the Amazon gift card in her hand and called off the digits in her head.

  AQHKPFQSKP M47WA

“I think I like him,” she whispered with a slight grin to herself.

*The First person that heads to Amazon and use those digits will win a $50.00 Amazon Gift Card. Good Luck & Thanks for your continued support.*

Nina smiled to herself. Her thoughts were snapped back to reality as she heard Stephen coming inside of her house. He still had his key and from the way she was feeling, he could probably keep it. The minute he stepped down the hallway and into her room, he smiled.

“Why are you smiling?” She questioned with a frown.

“Because you’re looking good in those lil boy shorts and tee-shirt.” He said. “You must be planning on giving your baby daddy some tonight.”

Nina smiled at him as he stood in the doorway of her bedroom. He was still just as fine as he was the first day she met him. “I thought you were coming over so we could talk.”

“Oh I did, but we got all night to talk.” He said feeling horny since he hadn’t had any in weeks.

“Let me think about it,” Nina teased. She was horny too and more than ready to give in. Stephen laughed then walked over to the bed where she was laying. Without wasting any time he came out of his shirt and started kissing on her. For the next forty-five minutes, they made love. It was explosive as Stephen explored every inch of her body with his tongue, and then served her up like she wanted and needed him to.

“I love you,” he whispered in her ear still lying on top of her.

“I love you, too.” Nina responded.

“Can we work on us? I just want my family back.” Stephen asked.

“I think we all need that.” She said thinking about how grown Marc had gotten overnight it seemed now smoking weed and doing no telling what else. “I need to get it together. You were right about everything you said earlier. I’ve been blaming you for everything that happened that day with Rick and it wasn’t your fault. I’m sorry.”

Stephen kissed her softly on the lips. “You have nothing to be sorry for. I’m sorry. I left you that day, but I promise it’ll never happen again.”

“I believe you,” Nina said and just as they started to kiss for another round of hot sex, Nina’s cell phone rang. “Shit,” she said.

“It might be the kids. You know O’Mari don’t really like staying with your mom. He’s probably ready to come home.”

“Well, his ass gonna have to stay.” Nina said.

Stephen laughed. “Don’t do my child like that. Answer the phone.”

Nina shook her head, and then picked up her phone. She certainly didn’t recognize the number as she looked over at Stephen. “I don’t know who this is.”

“Just answer it,” Stephen said while kissing softly on her neck.

“Hello,” Nina answered before they could hang up.

“Uh… Hello.” The familiar voice on the other end of the phone said.

“Who is this?” Nina questioned pushing Stephen off of her a little bit so she could concentrate on cursing a bitch out.

  “This is Faye.”

“I know who the fuck this is. Why are you calling my phone?”

“Damn,” Stephen whispered already figuring that he knew who it was.

“I didn’t call to start anything with you. Stephen has me blocked and he’s not taking any calls from me.”

“What does that have to do with me?” Nina questioned with a quick roll of the eyes.

“I just want you to tell him that I’m having an abortion in the morning.”

  Nina’s eyes widened. “You’re going to d
o what?”

“What’s she saying?” Stephen asked with a distasteful expression on his face.

“Oh, is that him in the background?” Faye asked.

“Don’t worry about who’s in my background. If you want me to pass him the message then I will. Is that all you want?”

“Would you tell him now, please?” Faye asked like she wanted Stephen to stop her from going through with it just in case the baby was his.

Nina popped her lips, and then looked at Stephen. “This bitch on the phone said that she’s having an abortion in the morning.”

“Good,” Stephen said with no remorse whatsoever.

“Did you hear that? He said good.” Nina happily told her.

  “Well alright.” Faye sadly said.

“Hey, don’t call my phone again, either. Make this your last time ever contacting me or you will regret it.” Nina said, and with that she ended their call. “That bitch got some nerves.”

“She definitely got some big balls if she ain’t got anything else,” Stephen added thinking about how trifling Faye could be. “I figured she’d have an abortion. She didn’t want to deal with no paternity tests nor did she want to deal with Rick’s mom. That woman turned out to be psycho and crazy. I would’ve never thought that she was like that.”

“She call my phone again, I’m whooping that ass again.”

Stephen laughed with a shake of the head. “How about letting me tame that ass of yours?”

Nina grinned. She was happy that Faye was getting an abortion and all she wanted to do was get her house back in order with Stephen very much present in it. “You can certainly tame this ass and anything else you wanna tame.” She teased with a big smile on her face.

Meanwhile, at Scarlett’s house, Anton was chilling with some unexpected company. He looked over at Samantha as they sat on the sofa in the living room.

“So, what brings you by tonight? You didn’t even show last night. Straight stood a brother up.” He teased, but was definitely serious.

“I’m sorry, but it wasn’t like that.” Samantha said as she looked over at him with a warm smile. “My mom hasn’t been herself lately and last night she locked herself out of the house so I had to turn around and go back home to let her in. That’s when I messaged you and said that I’d be a little late. However, when I let her back in the house, she broke down crying. She was talking crazy about me living my life and being happy with whomever it is that puts a smile on my face.”

“What was wrong with her?” Anton asked not knowing what was going on.

“Honestly, I don’t know. For the past month she’s been on cloud nine. That’s so unlike her for one. She’s usually tripping about something, but she’s actually been more on the chill side lately. Well, until last night. She actually scared me. So, I ended up staying home with her.”

“Dang,” Anton whispered. “Well, I hope that she’ll be alright.”

“Yeah, me too,” Samantha said. “I’m sure she’ll be alright though. How are you?” She questioned knowing that she hadn’t been in his presence since before Tommy killed himself.

Anton looked over at her. “I’m good, I guess.”

“I’m sorry I wasn’t around when Tommy died. I felt so bad when I heard what he’d done.”

“Yeah, I felt bad too.” Anton sadly said. “But, I’m good and I know that he’s in a better place. I did appreciate the text message though.”

“Are you trying to be funny?” Samantha asked as she looked over at him.

Anton smiled. “Maybe,” he said. “I was like dang; I can’t even get a phone call. She must really be done with me.”

“Nah, it wasn’t like that. Well, maybe it was,” she teased him. “You fumbled my heart.”

Anton could see that he hurt her and at that moment he definitely felt bad for the way he’d handled things. “I’m sorry about a lot of things that I put you through.” He sincerely said reaching over and running his hands through her long hair. Samantha glanced over at him. She didn’t want to stare too hard because Anton was a seriously cute nigga that tugged on her heartstrings. If nothing else, she had to watch herself around him.

“I accept your apology.” Samantha said.

Anton leaned over and kissed her softly on the cheek. “Think we could ever get back together?”

Samantha looked at him with a smile on her face. “Maybe,” she said causing him to smile back as they then shared a passionate sweet kiss.

  Chapter 16

A couple of hours later Sheila was about three sheets in the wind. She had had Dmitri, Troy and Scarlett laughing at how silly she could be as they played several games of spades. Sheila and Scarlett were on teams and even though they’d lost all the games, they still talked the most shit like they were the ones winning. Once their last game was wrapped up, Scarlett stood up feeling tired and sleepy.

“I think me and my Boo about to take it in.”

“Are you going to bed already, bestie?” Sheila asked.

“I sure am. I’m tired.” Scarlett said feeling like she’d had a long day.

“Well, you definitely need to get some rest.” Sheila said with a smile as she looked over at Dmitri. “I’m gonna be an auntie and I guess that means that you’ll be an uncle.”

Dmitri nodded his head, agreeing. “You’re right.” He said.

Scarlett looked at her and shook her head. “Sheila, I hope you know that you’re not going home tonight.”

Sheila glanced around the room with a frown, and then asked, “Why not?”

“Don’t play,” Scarlett said. “Your ass is not driving anything from here.”

“Well, where am I sleeping?” She asked as her eyes cut over at Dmitri.

“Hell, you can sleep with him if you want to.” Scarlett said as she and Troy laughed out loud. Dmitri just sat back cooling with a handsome smile spread across his face.

Sheila looked over at Dmitri then back over at Scarlett. She smiled then looked back in Dmitri’s direction. “So are you staying the night here?”

Dmitri nodded his head up and down, and then coolly said, “Yes ma’am.”

Hot damn, Sheila thought. “Can I sleep with you?”

Dmitri sat there still smiling. He looked over at Troy and shook his head. Troy grinned knowing that Dmitri was the ultimate ladies man. He’d dealt with many women in his lifetime, but Dmitri was no joke. Women would fall all over him.

Sheila looked from Dmitri to Troy then back to Dmitri. “Well, you need his permission or something?”

“Nah,” Dmitri said. “I just wanna make sure that you really wanna sleep in the same bed with me.”

Scarlett grinned as she shook her head already knowing what this was about to lead to.

“Why wouldn’t I?” Sheila questioned. “All we’re gonna do is sleep.”

Troy and Scarlett laughed out loud. “Lawd,” Scarlett said. “I don’t care where you sleep. I just know that I’m now headed upstairs to go to sleep and you’re not going home.”

“Well, bestie you need to give me a tee-shirt or something so I can sleep in.” Sheila said as she glanced over at a very nonchalant Dmitri. “Make sure that it stops right under my ass.”

Scarlett laughed. “Come on crazy girl. Follow me so I can get you right for the night.”

“Please do,” Sheila said as she stood to her feet to follow Scarlett upstairs. She looked at Dmitri with a smile on her face. “We’ll finish this when I get out the shower.”

“Shower,” Dmitri said cheesing. He knew he was going to hit a homerun if she kept it up.

Sheila and Scarlett made their way upstairs as Dmitri and Troy looked across the table at one another. “Well, it looks like you’re smashing tonight.” Troy teased.

  Dmitri laughed. “She is funny.”

  “She really is.” Troy agreed.

“She got a nice round ass too.” He added.

Troy just laughed. “Well, the only ass I’m watching is my fiancé’s.” Tro
y said. “But, yeah she got that too.”

Dmitri laughed out loud. “Okay, so where am I sleeping at? It’s already eleven at night. I plan on leaving around noon tomorrow.”

Troy stood up from the table as did Dmitri. “Let me walk you to your domain.”

Dmitri nodded his head feeling pretty good off of the Corona’s and mixed drinks that he’d had fooling around with Sheila.
