“Say it once more,” he crooned, grabbing a condom and rolling the rubber over his length.

  “I love you, Master Drew.”

God help him. He was a sick fuck. He was a twisted bastard who wanted to hear Suzy express her feelings again and again. He needed to listen as she said the words, and longed to gaze into those sincere eyes as she professed her love.

Suzy’s face was flushed. Her lashes fluttered. Everything about her cried out to him in a way he couldn’t explain.

She was his peace. She was his harmony.

Good hell, she was the only woman he wanted to love.

Lowering his lips to hers once more, he accepted a more ravenous kiss. As her tongue twirled with his, he reached above her head and jerked the first scarf holding her right wrist to the bedpost.

She hooked her arm around his neck and doted upon his mouth. Her soft kisses brushed by his and they teased one another of the loving to come.

Ah hell, but one arm holding him wasn’t enough. He thrust inside her mouth and took their kiss to another level as he untied the other thin limb. Whispering how much he’d missed her, he divided those soft, decadent lips with his greedy tongue and pressed for more.

Once he had completely freed her, she pulled his hair, raking her nails across his scalp. Her body shimmied under his. “Master Drew.” Her hot breath scorched his flesh.

“God yeah,” he rasped, nuzzling her cheek as he plunged the toy deep inside her walls. “You know what I need, sub. You know how much you can please me.”

“Make love to me, Master Drew. Please make love to me.”

Stilling then, he stared down at her and saw the true compassion lingering there. Had she always looked at him with such devotion? Had she always possessed such longing in her voice? Had the love always been there and he’d just failed to acknowledge it?

His heart clenched. He thought of another woman who had loved him unconditionally, another lover who had been his soul mate, his life’s love. Was Suzy his second chance? Was she, in fact, the love of his life?

His first true love had been with Kelsie, a woman he’d shared with his brothers. He’d loved her. He would’ve done anything for her and yet he couldn’t take her place in death. He couldn’t take the cancer and harbor it as his own.

Pulling back, he stared down at Suzy then. With her short hair cropped above her ears, her high cheekbones, slender nose, and somewhat thin lips, she looked like a runway model destined to wear high-end fashions.

Even as she arched to him, there was something incredibly graceful about her moves and the way she responded to him. Every muscle in his body flexed. His thighs bunched. He gauged how he might feel if another man’s hands roamed over her now, another pair of eyes saw her as he saw her—naked and glorious, beautiful and seductive.

God, he couldn’t stand it. He might have once shared Kelsie with his brothers, but he could not—would not—share Suzy with anyone. He’d already been forced to compromise when he’d stayed out of her life. She’d married. She’d moved on, but the truth was—he never did. He stayed there in that club, taking the occasional sub, and hoping, maybe even praying for one more night such as this.

He dipped his head and flicked the tiny bar piercing her nipple. Two hearts joined together by one thread. God help him. What a jackass he’d been.

Back then, he’d told her that the common factor they shared was lust, but he had been some kind of liar. He’d known from the moment he’d special ordered her intimate jewelry.

The common factor they shared was an everlasting love, a love that had undoubtedly only strengthened over time.

  * * * *

She loved him. Oh how she loved him.

Drew removed the toy and rose over her like a force to be reckoned with, a powerful surge behind a bolt of electricity. His broad shoulders, cut pecs, and muscular arms and legs were only part of the package.

Drew Remington was indeed a beautiful man. He possessed dark, haunting features. He characterized trouble just by the way he moved or flexed his stiff jaw. He personified danger and seduction, not to mention sex. Oh God yes, definitely sex. The man could fuck longer than a vibrator with new batteries.

Even the disturbing gray shadows circling his brown eyes were enticing. They were part of what made the man intriguing, yet explained why he was so distant and reserved.

His fingers plunged inside her pussy and her hips shot off the bed. “Master Drew, please.”

He smacked her bare mound and a gush of racing heat blasted through her channel. She slapped her hands against the mattress and used her heels to pump closer to those prying fingers, that manual stimulation now driving her wild.

Her head tilted forward and back as he fucked her with probing digits. His mouth fell open and his eyes grew heavy.

Reaching for him, she pumped his cock, suddenly aware of the fact that he’d already suited up to play, already slipped on a condom when she’d apparently been too involved in the pleasure to notice.

“You will do what I tell you to do while you’re here,” he said, leaving one finger right inside her cunt as if to show her how well he could give, how easily he could take away. “Tell me you understand.”

  “Yes. I understand, Master Drew.”

He shoved three fingers inside her, rotating them in a slow circle. “And you’ll stay out of trouble, sub. Do you understand?”

“Yes, Sir,” she replied, her pussy now an inferno. He continued to stir her juices, work with her arousal. “I understand perfectly.”

Bending over her body, he flicked her clit and she came apart. He lowered his head and sipped at the hardened bud, licked at her pussy lips and rigorously fingered her.

Coming to his knees, Drew reached behind him and released her legs. “I want to feel those shapely thighs squeezing me, sub.”

Without another word, he slammed into her with one even thrust. Planting his hands on either side of her head, he worked his hips back and forth, moving them from side to side as he screwed her.

“Now say it,” he rasped, dragging his lips across hers.

Her nipples throbbed. Her pussy wept. It was all she could do to keep from wrapping her arms around him while screaming out his name, chanting about her everlasting love and undying devotion.

  “Say what?”

Surely he didn’t want her to tell him again. Had Drew really changed that much while they’d been apart? Did he need her now when he hadn’t needed her in the past? Was he ready for more than he’d given her before?

He pushed the weight of his cock high inside her quivering cunt. “Tell me.” His lips assaulted hers. His cock strummed inside her. He reared back then plunged inside her again and again. “Now, sub. Tell me now!”

She started to profess her love all over again, but her release rolled forward. Her pussy vibrated with the warning and she tried to resist, fought to hold back until her Master gave her permission.

“Damn you! I need to hear you tell me you love me again. Tell me you love me as much as I’ve always loved you!”

There was no stopping her then. She came apart in his arms screaming his name, crying out for more, and yes, oh God yes. She told him she loved him over and over again.

Suzy would love him until the day she died.

  Chapter Eight

“If I’d known the only thing you needed for that bad attitude of yours was a hard screw, I would’ve fucked you myself.” Manny snorted. “Hell I haven’t seen you smile since I started working here.”

“You work here?” Drew teased. “Since when?”

Manny shook his head. “Don’t start with me this morning. I didn’t get cock-rocked all night long and I’m not in the best of humor.”

  “What’s the problem?”

“Detectives have been sniffing around all morning. You may have to call in a favor. See if Donovan can get them to back off for a while. I’m afraid they may shut down the club for their investigation.”

“It wouldn’t bother me if they did
,” Drew said, stroking his chin. “At least for a while.”

“Are you out of your mind?” Manny pointed at the wall of cages. “Do you want to be ousted by that group before we’re even considered ‘in’ here?”

The exhibitionists supported the club. They came there in droves. Drew had recently added the state of the art “prison cells” complete with whips and chains, voice-activated controls and other innovated equipment. The Las Vegas Underground Club was the test market for other clubs like it. If their business shut down, would-be relocated operatives might find themselves without a transfer. Rightfully pissed didn’t accurately describe how furious they’d be if they were knocked out of what would soon become the choice assignment.

“You’re planning to keep her around. Aren’t you?”

  “I haven’t decided.”

“You’ve made up your mind. You just haven’t admitted it to yourself,” Manny told him. “She loves you, Drew. I can tell that much. There’s nothing she wouldn’t do for you.”

He took a deep breath and scanned the club. The place was dark and dank, just the way his customers enjoyed it, but the hot nightspot wasn’t an ideal place for committed couples.

“Is this about Kelsie?” Manny asked, not at all tiptoeing around the subject.

Drew had rarely discussed Kelsie after she’d died. He hadn’t had the desire to talk about her. In the past, discussing Kelsie had been off limits, just like he refused to talk about Benson and his father.

The past couldn’t be changed and he was a man who hated to confront the demons living in those years when he couldn’t do anything about them. He couldn’t hunt them down and kill them. He couldn’t make them pay.

Drew couldn’t enact a vengeful retribution because the truth was—he couldn’t do a damn thing to bring back those he’d loved and lost.

Resignation struck him. “Maybe it’s about Kelsie, Benson, my father, my brothers, and ultimately the career I chose, the paths I’ve walked down because of loss and heartache. Hell I don’t know what it’s about. I just know if I can’t protect her, if I claim her as my woman—”

“I hate to interrupt your philosophical moment, friend, but you’ve already claimed her as yours.”

“I did. Didn’t I?” He stopped and considered what that meant.

Manny slowly nodded, nursed his bottle of ruby-red grapefruit juice and said, “Yeah buddy. There’s no turning back now.”

“There should be,” Drew told him. “And that’s just it. I don’t think I’m strong enough to walk away now.”

“You think it takes strength to walk away from what you have?” Manny laughed. “We men are foolish fellas there. I know because I’ve walked away from love before. It was the easier way out. I let my high school sweetheart go and convinced myself she’d have a better life. She’s lived in a world of corruption, far more dangerous than the world I would’ve introduced.”

  Drew frowned. “Drugs?”

“Yeah, and a lot more,” Manny replied, finishing off his drink and tossing the container in a large garbage can behind the bar. “But we aren’t talking about me here. This is about you. Do you love her?”

Drew took a deep breath. “What kind of question is that?”

“One I can answer for you. Hell, I bet you worried yourself to death while I was upstairs alone with her and you were down here dealing with cops and the Candy brothers.”

Drew sniffed. He nailed that one.

“No sense in denying the truth when it’s scribbled across your face.” Silence lingered before Manny added, “You have to quit blaming yourself for the past and move on, Drew. And you need to forgive your brothers for Veronica, too.”

“What do you mean forgive them?”

“Anyone can see what happened there. You felt they moved on too soon. The few times you’ve talked to Sloane when I’ve been around, there’s definitely a wall there.”

  “Maybe.”

“There’s no maybe to it. Veronica is a good woman. She’s supportive of her men and she’s a friend to you.”

“She was Kelsie’s sister for crying out loud!” Drew immediately regretted his outburst.

“And from the stories around the Unit, Veronica had Kelsie’s blessing. Is that right?”

“It was one hell of a fucked-up situation,” Drew admitted, remembering the talks between Kelsie and Veronica, discussions he’d overheard. “Kelsie wanted to be sure we were taken care of, and for some reason, she nominated her sister for the job.”

“Sounds like she wanted to control you guys after her death, if you ask me.”

“No, Kelsie wasn’t like that. She was the most giving and understanding woman I had ever known until—”

  “Until now?”

“Yeah,” Drew confessed. “I’ve known Suzy for most of my life. She was a part of my life even when I married Kelsie. I mean, we’d see her around town, talk to her at ballgames, and that sort of thing. When we were kids, we rode the same school bus. We had so many classes together in high school it was as if someone just copied my schedule and handed over hers.”

“Did you guys ever date?” Manny asked.

Drew dragged his hands over the top and back of his head. He recalled a pretty intense time between them, a remembered night of passion, a night he’d never mentioned to her because he was a jerk, a real jackass. “No.”

  “Mess around?”

  “You taking notes or something?”

Manny shook his head. “Hell no. All I would learn from you is what I shouldn’t do.”

“Is it that bad?” Drew asked.

  “You need to loosen up.”

“I can’t. When she’s around, I worry about losing her. When she isn’t with me, I worry if she’s happy. I am so fucking hooked on her, I’m driving myself crazy.”

“And like I said, you need to loosen up. Be yourself around her.”

  “I am myself around her.”

“You think you talk this much around her?”

After some thought, Drew replied, “No. I’m only talkative around you.”

Manny waggled his brows. “Well damn, sweetheart, if I’d known I made you so comfortable, I would’ve made you my submissive.”

“That’s twice in one day,” Drew teased.

  “What’s that?”

“I’m starting to worry about you. That’s two suggestive comments in less than an hour. I’m beginning to believe you dream of fucking me.”

Manny winked. “No, but I wouldn’t mind getting a hold of your woman.”

Drew bristled. Manny was kidding but it was all Drew could do to keep from clobbering him with a warning.

“See there?” Manny shook his head. “You’re done for, man. You might as well tell her. She isn’t going anywhere now. She tracked you down and now she’s home to stay.”

  Chapter Nine

Someone was watching her. An eerie feeling washed over her as she turned off the water and reached behind the shower curtain for a towel.

She’d just felt the cool linen rack under her fingertips when someone snatched her wrist, yanked the curtain and tugged her from the shower. Fear propelled through her veins as she looked up at a man she’d seen in pictures, the man who was ultimately responsible for Wilson and Benson Remington’s deaths.

Gomez Gustavo Esparza glared back at her. “Hello, Miss Matthews.”

Her entire body shook. His arms locked around her body, and she forced herself not to resist, remembering that this person had the ability to break her in half. If he had made it this far, if he’d gotten past Drew’s security, it was possible that Drew and some of his men were injured. She gasped as she thought of worse possibilities. Was Drew dead? Was he being held against his will?

“Do you know who I am?” Esparza asked, showcasing extraordinary teeth. Perfectly straight and white teeth made her think of dentures.

  “Yes.”

He held her at arm’s length then and gaped at her chest. “What beautiful nipples you have.”

  Fr
antic he would rape her, Suzy glanced around the bathroom, searching for the towel she’d placed nearby prior to showering.

Esparza smirked. “I took the liberty of tossing your towel in the dryer. I want you warm and comfortable. Would you like for me to go fetch it for you?”

She slowly nodded. Her eyes never left his.

“Very well,” Esparza said, patting her head as he might stroke a favored pet. “Show me you can be trusted by waiting here.”

Esparza disappeared down the hallway and Suzy wasted no time. She stepped away from the shower, yanked open the cabinet over the toilet, and grabbed her cell phone, frantic he might have found her hiding spot while she’d been showering. Relieved to hold the device in her hands, she nervously typed out her one-word message to Drew. She hit the “send” button and prayed he was okay.

Scouring her contact list for other Remington names, she forwarded the same message to Drew’s brothers. They’d know what to do.

She’d just started to tuck the phone back in place when Esparza barreled in the bathroom. “I thought we were establishing trust!”

“Not on your life,” she said, bracing for the inevitable assault.

Striking her, Esparza knocked her to the floor, grabbed her by one arm and shook her. “You will obey me! Do you understand?”

“Yes,” she replied, her nerves shattering as he tightened his grip. Why had she deliberately provoked him? Indescribable pain left her clutching the side of her head.

“Now then,” he drawled calmly, opening the cabinet where she’d disposed of her phone. “Let’s see what sort of message you’ve sent to your lover. You may have just made my job a little easier.”

  “What job?”

He tossed her the warm towel and grinned. “Why, darling, I thought you knew. I plan to kill him. Then, I plan to make you my wife. I will take everything the Remington family cherishes. They’ll finally realize the damage they once inflicted upon my family cannot be undone. It cannot be forgiven.”

“They’ll kill you first,” she whispered.

He jerked her head back and showered her face with hard kisses, each peck leaving her more disgusted than the last. “There’s not a chance in hell of that happening, lover. See, I’ve had nine lives and lucky for you, I’ll have nine more. We’ll be very happy together, Miss Matthews. In fact, I have a few delectable surprises in store for you, too.”
