Scarlett leaned forward and licked the tip of my member, glancing up at me as she did so. Then, she slowly took me into her mouth, her hand wrapped around my base. Her mouth was hot and wet. I groaned and gripped the arms of my chair as I felt my cock hit the back of her throat.
She had taken in far more than I would have thought possible and the feeling was electrifying. I felt a shiver run down my spine as she worked her mouth up and down my full length, her hand following so that not a single inch was left unattended. She had just gotten into a rhythm when there was a knock on the office door.
“Fuck,” I grumbled under my breath.
Scarlett pulled her mouth off me and looked toward the door. The doorknob started to turn without a response from me. Which meant it could only be one person, my business partner, Nick. Damn it, why didn’t I lock the door?
“Under the desk,” I hissed to Scarlett.
She scrambled under the desk and I followed, pushing my chair in after her just as Nick pushed the door open and walked in.
“What are you doing here?” I asked shortly, irritated at the interruption.
“Whoa, what’s your problem?” Nick asked, brow furrowed.
“Nothing, just busy,” I replied, trying not to react as I felt Scarlett’s soft touch on my cock under the desk. What was she doing?
“You ready to meet with Wyatt and his lawyer? They should be here in the next ten minutes or so.” Nick asked. Scarlett’s lips wrapped around my tip once again and I felt my whole body tense up. Fuck.
“Uh, yeah. Yep. Completely ready, just give me a minute and I’ll meet you there,” I said, forcing my face not to show the ecstasy I was feeling.
Scarlett had gone back to fully sucking my cock, running her tongue along the underside every few strokes and taking me so deep that I wondered how she could do that without gagging. The woman had skills and they were driving me crazy
“Okay, then. Let’s close this deal today. I’m eager to move forward.”
I just nodded, not trusting myself to speak. I was rushing headlong toward an orgasm and it took everything I had not to let it out. I didn’t think that I could hide that from Nick. Scarlett didn’t let up one little bit, even bringing her hand up to cup my balls just as Nick closed the door behind himself.
The second the door closed, I let my orgasm wash over me, my entire body resonating with shockwaves of pleasure as I emptied my seed into Scarlett’s eager mouth. My muscles tensed and a low moan escaped me as I came, feeling her swallow every drop.
Scarlett slowly pulled herself up until just my tip remained in her mouth. She swirled her tongue around one last time, causing pleasure to shoot all the way to the base that was almost painful. My legs seemed to go numb, but I used my arms to push my chair back from the desk.
She crawled out from under the desk and I grabbed her as she started to stand, pulling her down onto my lap. I pressed my lips to hers in a short, sweet kiss.
“Trying to make me come in front Nick makes you naughty, you know,” I told her. Scarlett gave me a devilish grin.
“Does it?” she asked playfully with a raised eyebrow.
“You’ll pay for that later,” I promised, bringing her lips to mine once again.
Chapter 5
Scarlett
I was feeling off my game as I walked into the boardroom with Jason at my side. I hated the feeling, but I couldn’t do anything about it now. I had more than crossed a line, I had decimated the damn thing. There was no separation of business and pleasure anymore.
I should feel regret, but I couldn’t seem to get past my own sexual frustration enough for anything else to register. I had felt powerful in Liam’s office, giving pleasure to the man that had brought me to a new level of sexual satisfaction. It was hot but one-sided, and all I could think about was going back to his office and making good use of that big desk.
Maybe he’d spank me again.
“You okay, Scarlett?”
Jason’s voice pulled me out of my own consuming thoughts. I shook my head to clear it. Liam was like an addiction and every hit I got of him just made me want more.
So much for being strong and independent. I didn’t know how to feel anymore. The man had me tied up in knots.
“Of course,” I told Jason, giving him a small smile. “Don’t worry, they’ll have to bring a better offer to the table this time.”
“You sure?” he asked, looking through the glass wall at the three men gathered there. Liam, Nick, and their attorney were standing deep in conversation just outside the boardroom.
“Yes. There’d be no reason to bring us back here if they weren’t going to offer more. I made that clear last time.”
“I’m actually eager to complete this deal. Nova Tech has resources that we could utilize if they become our parent company. It could really advance our research by leaps and bounds,” Jason said. I had noticed that he was his most vocal and socially proficient when talking about technology. His work meant the world to him.
“Yes, and Liam has made it clear that you would remain in charge of the company as a subsidiary of Nova Tech. You can continue your work and make a difference while Liam - I mean, Nova Tech worries about the big picture.”
Jason smiled, and I could see the relief in his eyes. He reminded me of a kid sometimes, a really smart kid that had gotten bogged down by the responsibility of owning his own company. But he had so many great ideas. He just needed to be able to focus on them and his ultra-powerful computers that were bound to change the world. Nova Tech could make that happen.
The processors that his company was building were faster than any other currently on the market and embedded with Quantum microchips. There were so many applications for the product, it was bound to make a hell of a splash in the tech world.
“Are we ready to start?” Liam asked as the three men walked into the room. I turned to face them head-on, but purposely avoided Liam’s eyes. It would do no good to get swept away in their crystal blue depths. Besides, a small part of me felt that the others would know if we looked at each other too much, as if they would be able to see the lust in the air between us.
“We’re ready,” I replied, folding my hands on the table in front of me. The men sat down.
“Well, we’ve crunched some numbers over the last few days and are prepared to make you a new offer,” Mr. Gibson, the attorney, said as he placed a paper on the table in front of us.
I successfully pushed my attraction to Liam aside as I picked up the paper and gazed at it, my eyes zeroing in on the bolded number on the first page. It was three times what they had offered up last time.
I leaned closer to Jason and showed him the offer. We had already discussed the investment value of his company weeks ago, long before our first meeting with Nova Tech. I had advised him to take no less than 2.5 million dollars. This offer was for more than three million. It surprised me that they had increased the price so much, but I couldn’t complain. With the right connections, the kind that Nova Tech had, Jason’s computing system could be worth even more. The applications were limitless.
Jason gave a curt nod as he looked at the offer, but I could sense his excitement. The kid was about to be a millionaire and he would be continuing his research. It was a win-win for him.
I gave him a small smile as I scanned through the rest of the document, feeling the eyes of all three men across the table focused on me. I took note of the standard corporate lingo that I had been expecting: transfer of ownership, subsidiary, all rights transferred…
It was all looking good until I caught sight of the word liquidation. Placing the paper down on the table in front of me, I took a moment to carefully read through a short section of the agreement smack dab in the middle, where it could’ve been easily overlooked by someone less detail oriented.
“You plan to dissolve Wyatt Computing?” I asked, my voice cold. This was not what we had discussed.
“What?” Jason asked, pulling the paper toward him to take a closer l
ook. “That’s not what you told me,” he said to Liam, accusation clear in his voice.
I looked into my lover’s stoic face and frowned. How could he have misrepresented his intentions like that?
“You told my client that you were going to take over the business, not close it,” I pointed out.
“It makes better financial sense to shut the smaller company down and pass the tech onto our own R and D department. They can run with it themselves,” Nick chimed in. I saw Liam shoot a furtive glance at his business partner.
“Wyatt computing has fifteen employees. What happens to them if you do this?” Jason asked, sounding upset. I couldn’t blame him.
“We have plenty of employees that are experts in the field. There isn’t a need to add more,” Nick replied. Liam reached out and pulled the contract to him, reading it over with his brow furrowed, but he stayed quiet.
“You want to fire them all?” I asked incredulously. “They created this technology. Jason came up with the entire concept.”
“And he’ll be well-paid for that,” Nick replied.
“I don’t want to walk away from this project. It’s my brainchild. I want to keep developing it myself.”
“Listen, maybe we should talk this over again and come back with a different agreement, something that lines up with what we all want,” Liam finally said, handing the paper back to his lawyer.
“I don’t think so,” I said coolly. “You’re not to be trusted after this stunt. Jason was told that he would continue development himself and now you’re underhandedly trying to strip him of that right.”
“I’m sure it was just a misunderstanding,” Liam said, his lips pressed tightly together.
“Sounds like deception to me. And I don’t like it one bit. Come on, Jason. We’re done here,” I said, standing and leading him from the conference room without a backward glance.
I didn’t make it far before Liam strode out after me, grabbing my arm to pull me to a stop. I glared at him.
“I need to talk to you,” he said, pulling me toward him. I glared. Jason kept walking until he reached the nearby elevators.
“I have nothing to say,” I said shortly. These kind of things were exactly why I worked for a small firm, to help the ‘little man’. I was tired of seeing these big, greedy corporations doing whatever they could to keep the smaller firms down.
“Well, I do,” he insisted, adding a slight pressure to his grip on my arm. I wasn’t going to give in this time. I was too disappointed in him.
“Tell someone else then, because we’re out of here.” The elevator dinged as I turned away from him, wrenching my arm free, but I stopped and looked over my shoulder halfway to the little box where Jason was waiting. “Forget about buying Wyatt Computing and forget my number.”
I told him before walking away. Turned out that Liam was a greedy jerk after all.
Chapter 6
Liam
“What the hell was that?” I asked Nick as I returned to the conference room. Chad, our attorney, picked up his briefcase and walked out, giving us some privacy.
“What?” Nick asked, standing as well.
“We were going to buy the company and keep it operational. I had no intention of shutting down Wyatt Computing.”
“Do you have any idea how much that would cost? We’re talking about salaries, pension, and benefits for fifteen people. Not to mention the other overhead.”
“The return is worth it. Have you really looked at the work they’ve done? They’ve developed an integrated computing system that accelerates existing processors with quantum computing.”
I knew that Nick wasn’t much of a tech guy, focusing more on the business side of things, but I had a master’s degree in computer science and I was excited about the work that Jason and his team had been doing.
“You know I can’t follow your lingo. But we’ll own the research and patents. We just need to get our guys working on it and we can continue development.”
I shook my head. “And just discard the entire team that created it in the first place? That’s crazy. Jason alone is a genius and I don’t want to lose his talent.”
“You’re not thinking about what makes the most sense for the business,” Nick said with a sigh.
“No, you’re not thinking about the big picture. This is just the beginning for Wyatt Computing. They’ve only been in business for a year and look what they’ve done. There’s too much potential to just shut it down.”
I folded my arms and glared at him. I was not happy about being blindsided in the meeting as I had been. The last draft of the contract that I had seen was aligned with my plans, the ones I had been talking to Jason about for weeks in informal communications. I had made promises and now I looked like a manipulative liar to both him and Scarlett.
Damn it, Scarlett looked furious. I knew that she was passionate about her job, but the betrayal in her eyes surprised me. She thought that I had been responsible for this and she was taking it personally.
“I’m putting my foot down here, Nick,” I said. “We aren’t just buying Jason’s research, we’re investing in his company. I want to see just how high he can fly.”
“Okay, fine,” he responded holding his hands out in front of him defensively.
“And I don’t appreciate how you went about doing this,” I added. “I think you knew that I didn’t want it and tried to slip it past me.”
Nick dropped his gaze and shifted his weight from one foot to the other. It was as good as a verbal confirmation. I clenched my jaw.
“I don’t know what you’re playing at here, Nick, but if something like this happens again, we’re going to have a real problem.”
“We’ve been talking about taking the company public. I just want to make sure that we are in a strong position to do so,” Nick said, looking guilty.
“I get that, but we’re partners, and we need to make these decisions together. Now, I have to go draw up a new contract and hope that Jason is still willing to make a deal.”
“Yeah, you might also need to kiss up to the lawyer a bit. She was pissed and might get in the way.”
“Well, Scar sees herself as a champion for her clients. She’s upset on Jason’s behalf.”
“Scar?” Nick smiled knowingly. “Something’s going on with you and the lawyer?”
“Well…”
“I knew it,” he laughed. The way you ran out of here after her...she’s got you whipped.”
I grinned. It was really the other way around, but I wasn’t going to tell him that. I needed to get to work on fixing things with Jason. Then, I could focus on Scarlett. If she really thought that she could walk away from this, she had another thing coming. I wasn’t nearly done with her, yet.
Chapter 7
Scarlett
I tried not to obsess over Liam for the rest of the day, but it proved to be impossible. My mind continually conjured the image of his face as he orgasmed into my mouth or the way he chased me out into the hall, trying to get me to talk to him.
I found that I was second-guessing myself for storming out so dramatically, but it didn’t change the fact that Nova Teach, his firm, had told us Wyatt Computing would become a subsidiary company run by Jason. Then, they tried to change the agreement at the last minute.
I felt betrayed, which was crazy. This was just business.
Except…it wasn’t anymore. It hadn’t been about business since I pulled Liam into my home and had the best sex of my life. Now, it was all personal, which was the reason I shouldn’t have done it in the first place.
Why did the man have to be so damn irresistible?
I was still frustrated and second guessing myself when I walked into the office the next day. As I sat down at my desk, I saw that a folder had been left on top of the smooth surface. I was surprised when I flipped it open and saw a revised contract from Nova Tech.
It was exactly what I had hoped for. The dollar amount was the same, but there were also statutes specifically outlini
ng the future relationship between the two companies. There was no more talk of liquidation. My heart lurched, and I wanted to call Liam, but that was complicated. So, I called Jason instead.
“I was just about to call you,” he said once his receptionist connected the call.
“You were? Why?” I asked, surprised.
“Liam Bishop called me first thing this morning. He told me that he sent you a revised contract.”
“Yeah, I guess that they finally took us seriously after the break-down in negotiations yesterday,” I said with a peculiar hollow feeling in my chest.
“I don’t think so. Liam said that Nick was behind all that. He wanted to dissolve the company, but Liam has decided that’s not the best idea.”
“Really?” I asked, my heart fluttered.
“Yep. We actually talked for a while about the future of Wyatt Computing. He has a great idea to develop software for integrating our quantum chips with cloud infrastructure-”
Jason prattled on about things I didn’t understand, but his excitement was clear in his voice. He was in his element. Liam was responsible for this, he had ignited a fire under Jason and laid out a path for success for both companies.
As we wrapped up the call, with plans to meet later that day, I felt like an idiot. Liam had awakened a part of me that lay dormant so long I didn’t know it existed, an erotic power that was consuming me. Beneath that, I felt a connection to him. Not love, it was too soon for that, but I liked him. I was longing to explore that feeling while he pushed my sexual boundaries ever further, but I didn’t know if that was possible.
Had I blown it?
I wanted to make up with Liam, but I didn’t know how to go about it. I spent the day focusing on work, but I knew there would be nothing to distract me from thoughts of him once I got home.
