Jackson's Rise Page 18

by Tielle St Clare

“Have you ever taken it up the ass before?” Jackson snarled. For some reason having former lovers fuck her cunt didn’t bother him, but her ass—that belonged to him and Reign.

She shook her head, her eyes glazed over with the heady seduction.

“Good. Because we’ll take you. That sweet ass belongs to us.”

“Damn straight,” Reign growled. He scraped his teeth across her neck. The mark sent a spike of need into Jackson’s groin. They needed to get done so they could go home and fuck.

Damn. Forcibly fighting his wolf, he pushed Dani away. Her mouth opened and she stared at him like he’d taken away her favorite toy.

“Uh, we need to find this guy.”

“Damn, you’re right.” He watched as Reign physically peeled his body away from Dani.

Dani nodded. “Right.” She was breathless as she spoke and her words did wicked things to her breasts as she reported. “I didn’t see him. I tried to hit most of the corners of the room but I didn’t see anything.”

“What now?” Jackson asked, keeping his body tight against Dani’s. The possibility of someone watching them gave him a good excuse.

  “Let’s dance,” Reign announced.

“You sure that’s a good idea?” His cock ached, hard and in need to fuck something. Someone. At this point, he didn’t care if it was Reign or Dani, but he needed to come. The thought of bodies twisting on the dance floor, rubbing together—damn, he wasn’t sure he could keep his control.

“Better than fucking one of you in the corner.”

“Besides, I like to dance,” Dani said. For a brief moment, he almost thought she didn’t feel the tension between them. Then he saw the sparkle in her eyes. She knew what would happen on the dance floor. Little tease.

With her hips swinging in a blatantly seductive rhythm that called to both him and Reign, she walked off, clearing a path through the crowd to the dance floor.

Drawn by the sweet noose that pulled them forward, both men stumbled after her. Her feet hit the raised dance platform and she started to move, her hips rocking in time to the beat. Her breasts swayed unrestrained beneath that nothing top she wore.

  “Fuck,” Reign moaned.

  “Yeah.”

Though they both knew that this was a bad idea, neither man could resist. They joined her, Jackson covering her front, Reign pressing against her back.

Jackson pressed close, bending his knees until his cock was positioned right at her pussy. Reign’s hands lifted her ass, raising her until she was perfectly situated against his erection.

Dani’s laughter trickled through the room as they moved with her, against her. Two hard cocks. Two delicious men. They wanted her. Jackson rocked his hips deeper, sliding along her clit. Oh, yes, that’s what she needed. If she couldn’t have them coming inside her, she at least wanted to come.

“Oh yeah, fuck her, man. Rub that sweet cunt.” Reign’s voice was harsh against her ears as he massaged his cock against her ass. Their promise to fuck her—at the same time—made the seductive pressure of his cock even stronger.

She let the music fill her and raised her arms, letting the sound curl through her body, creating delicate caresses.

“Fuck me,” she moaned, needing their cocks inside her.

For a moment, both men moved with her, then Jackson, the strongest of all of them, pulled back.

“We’ve got to focus. Let’s find this asshole so we can go home and fuck.”

Dani nodded. He was right. They were here to find—

“That’s him.” She could barely contain her scream as her gaze landed on the man they’d been looking for. Both Jackson and Reign froze for a heartbeat then they moved. Their bodies rocked to the music but their attention had shifted off sex.

“Where?” Reign’s voice was low, near her ear.

Tipping her head back as Jackson crowded closer, she whispered. “Tall guy, dark hair, wearing the gray suit.” Jackson pumped his hips connecting with her clit and eliciting a groan. She forced her eyes to remain open, trying to lock the man’s image into her brain. “Talking to your friend.”

Reign didn’t even flinch as he looked up. “Got him.” He straightened, easing Dani into Jackson’s arms. Though his body still carried with it that sensual power, his eyes were all business. “Let’s go.” He grabbed Dani’s hand and led her to the edge of the dance floor, still cloaked in the darkness of the club. Jackson followed close behind. A new kind of tension shuttled between them.

Without looking toward the killer, Reign said. “You’re sure that’s him.”

Keeping it as subtle as possible, Dani scanned the corner of the room, not stopping when her eyes landed on him. He was in deep discussion with James, Reign’s friend. “That’s him. I’m positive.”

“Okay, Jackson…” Reign shifted, like he was pulling something out of his pocket. The handoff was discreet but whatever passed between them was now in Jackson’s pocket. “Give me a few minutes, then get her out of here. I’ll call you later—”

“No.” Dani shook her head. Reign looked like he might protest. “Come by. Let us know what happened.”

He nodded, then bent down, placing his lips on hers. She savored the warm kiss, letting his lips press against hers, soft but strong. Finally he drew back, licking his tongue across the peak of her upper lip.

  “I’ll see you later, kitten.”

He looked at Jackson. Energy bounced between them. He leaned forward, pressing their open mouths together. Heat flared between them so strong that Dani felt it in her core.

Reign grimaced as he drew back. “Got to keep up appearances.”

Jackson smiled. “Right.” His eyes grew serious. “Stay safe.”

“Always. I’ll see you at her place later. Take care of her.”

As Reign walked away, Jackson put his arm around her waist, pulling her back against him. “He’ll be okay,” he comforted.

She nodded and tried to believe it. Trying not to follow him with her eyes, she tracked Reign through the crowd, watching as Winston and Blayat slipped through a side door. Seconds later, Reign followed. The door closed behind him and Dani’s heart began to race.

It was strange that after such a short acquaintance both these men could mean so much to her. Of course, they had been pretty intense hours spent together. Jackson nuzzled her neck, his lips hot against her skin, his body pressed tight against hers. She could feel the hard line of his erection pressing against her ass. Her pussy responded, clenching, growing wet, preparing to take him.

Despite the danger and the fear, somehow her body could still lust. She never would have thought it was possible.

How long they stood there, Dani didn’t know. Her mind couldn’t track the passage of time. Her senses were consumed and dominating all her thoughts.

  “Damn.”

Jackson’s low curse grabbed her attention. She looked up and followed his gaze. He was watching the doorway through which Reign had disappeared. Three large men—bouncer types—went inside.

Dani started in that direction, her mind already on what they had to do. Jackson’s hand stopped her.

“What do you think you’re doing?”

  “We’ve got to help Reign.”

“No, I’m getting you out of here.”

“Three, very big, very mean men just followed him. We’ve got to at least warn him.” The edges of Jackson’s mouth turned down and she knew he was weighing her safety against saving Reign. “I’ll be okay. I’ll stay in the background but we can’t let Reign get hurt.” She waited as long as she could. “Please. We could call for backup for him.”

“I’m not sure that’s a good idea,” Jackson muttered, his eyes monitoring the area around them. “Come on.” With his hand firmly on her upper arm, like he was restraining her from taking off on her own, he walked closer toward the door. Another quick scan of the room and he nodded. Dani took that as her signal and opened the door, slipping inside. Jackson followed.

  Her shoes clanked
against the metal floor. The door had opened onto a stairwell. She inched forward, giving Jackson room to follow her onto the landing. No sounds echoed from above but voices rang below.

She tipped her head down, raising her eyebrows in silent question. Jackson nodded. Not sure which she wanted more—Jackson in front of her or behind her—she tried to quiet her steps by moving on tiptoes. They followed the voices down one full flight, pausing at the landing.

“Stay here,” Jackson commanded as he stepped in front of her.

“No way.” Partly because she didn’t want to be left out but mainly because she didn’t want to be left alone. The dark stairwell was kind of creepy.

He glowered at her for a moment but then sighed. Grabbing her wrist, he guided her down the next flight. The stairs ended opening up into a warehouse of sorts. Cardboard boxes filled the small area, leaving narrow pathways.

Voices rang from the far side of the room.

Jackson held his finger to his lips, warning her to stay silent. Then he silently told her to stay put. Nodding, because she really didn’t want to interfere, she grabbed the stair railing and held on.

While she watched, Jackson crept forward, peering around the corners of stacked boxes. He moved closer to the voices. She stretched up, not releasing her grip on the railing, but enough to watch him as he explore. His head bobbed down like he was swearing but there was not sound. Strange noises echoed around the corner but Jackson’s body blocked her and she couldn’t see. It didn’t sound like a fight—there were no grunts or groans. The sounds of fists hitting flesh was noticeably absent. It sounded more like animals—feet padding across the concrete floor, low snarls and growls.

Jackson backed up. As he returned to the base of the stairwell, Dani whispered, “What did you see?”

Jackson didn’t reply. He shook his head and began unbuttoning his shirt. She stared as he stripped off the black silk and dropped it to the ground. He reached for his belt buckle before she stopped him.

“What are you doing?” He couldn’t seriously be thinking about sex right now, could he? Reign was in danger and this room was just too creepy for any sexual thoughts. Again Jackson ignored her question.

Before he dropped his trousers, he pulled a gun out of his pocket and handed it to her.

“Do you know how to shoot?”

  She shook her head.

“Just squeeze the trigger. The safety is off. Point it at the chest and squeeze. If it’s anyone or anything but me or Reign, shoot it.”

The weight of the gun pulled her arm down—or maybe it was the fact that her muscles were shaking.

  “Jackson—”

“I’m going to go help Reign. I need you to do me a favor.” She nodded, knowing she would do whatever he asked. “I need you to put your hand over your mouth.”

  “What?”

“Just do it. Hand over your mouth, hard. You’re going to want to scream. Don’t.”

She didn’t understand but knew she wasn’t going to get an answer. Not now. She slapped her free hand over her mouth and watched.

Jackson pushed his briefs down and stepped out of them. Having seen him naked, Dani was still impressed by the hard male body.

  “Ready?” he asked.

Not moving her hand, she nodded. He flashed her a weak smile. The smile stretched, long, no, wait, that was his face stretching. The soft sounds of bones breaking and muscles rippling filled the tiny space and covered Dani’s gasp. The scream that Jackson had warned about lodged in her throat and struggled to get free. She gulped, trying to force it back as she watched his body change and shrink, falling to the ground. He landed on all four…paws. Paws? He was a wolf. Jackson had just turned into a wolf.

A tiny bit of the scream escaped and she was glad her hand was over her mouth muffling the sound. The wolf shuffled closer, running his nose across the ground around her feet. Dani froze, her mind trying to catch up with what she’d just seen, her body trying not to flinch at being so close to a wolf. Instinct made her want to run but she fought it with every bit of her strength.

Jackson ran his nose up the inside of her leg. His tongue flicked out and licked her thigh, right at the edge of her skirt. With that greeting, he turned and ran, heading back toward Reign.

Reign? Was Reign a werewolf—God, the word was even hard to think—too?

A loud roar, like a lion calling its challengers, rang through the warehouse and Dani backed up, putting herself against the wall. With hands that still trembled she raised the gun that Jackson had given her and pointed, ready for whoever or whatever might come toward her.

  * * * * *

Jackson ran around the corner, pausing only long enough to determine which of the five large mountain cats before him was Reign. His arrival was like a blanket of ice. All bodies froze for two heartbeats. Then the leader of the Cats screamed his challenge. Jackson met the sound with a growl of his own and lunged, heading for the leader, aiming for his throat. Cats liked to circle their prey, play with it. They weren’t prepared for the prey to attack. Reign reacted, taking down the Cat next to him, using Jackson’s arrival as a perfect distraction.

Jackson’s teeth sank into the Cat’s throat. He bit down hard and fast, knowing he didn’t have long before the others were on him. A Cat’s claws could do a lot of damage to a wolf. Blood rushed over him as he ripped through the jugular. His wolf demanded that he stay and finish the kill but Jackson forced himself to move on.

Claws grabbed at his back and Jackson leapt away. The speed and claws of the Cats made them deadly opponents. Jackson’s only advantages over the strong animals were his teeth and the fact that he could stay on control during the shift. The Cats tended to be consumed by the animal. They reacted instead of planned. Jackson circled around, feeling the burn through his left side. Only three Cats remained standing. The one Jackson had gone for wasn’t dead yet but he was down.

Reign jumped over the leader’s body and took the space next to Jackson. The other two Cats squared off with them, growling and roaring. Reign responded to their warnings, voicing his own challenge. After thirty seconds of the posturing, Jackson had had enough. He growled one time and went for the Cat in front of him. His attack spurred the rest and suddenly there were bodies and teeth, claws and bites. The roars turned to whimpers.

Jackson allowed his wolf’s instincts to lead and clamped down hard on the Cat’s throat. The killing instinct wouldn’t let him release his prey. His paws gripped the rough concrete surface as he bore down on his bite and moved inexorably backward.

A heavy weight landed against his side knocking him free of the kill. He growled and scrambled to his feet, his body locking down in attack mode. He bared his teeth to the attacker before him then realized the Cat was Reign. Reign had knocked him off his kill. Probably for the best. The two animals turned side by side and faced the carnage. Blood was splattered and smeared across the floor and some of the boxes. The Cat bodies were mostly alive. At least one was in danger of dying. Somehow Jackson couldn’t come up with any sympathy.

Silently moving together, they changed, their bodies straining and shifting, pulling back to human form. Blood covered their hands and smeared around their mouths.

“How are you going to explain this?” Jackson asked.

  Reign recognized the curiosity—not aggression—in Jax’s question.

“I’m working on it.” He looked around. “Where’s Dani?”

“Oh fuck.” Jax turned and jogged off toward the entrance. Reign followed. The Cats weren’t going anywhere, and if they did, it made it easier. At least one would die. The others would have a short brutal captivity. Any time in a cage was too much for a mountain cat but maybe it would teach them not to work for asshole drug dealers.

They came around the corner of some boxes and skidded to a stop. Dani crouched in the corner of the stairs. Under any other circumstances, Reign would have thought the position was incredibly sexy—the shadow between her legs promising slick hot flesh. But the gun gripped ti
ght in her hands ruined the image. Her eyes were so wide Reign didn’t think she could blink without help. Her stare shifted to them. The tip of the gun moved with her gaze.

“Dani? It’s okay, baby. We’re here.”

She didn’t move, didn’t seem to hear them.

Reign inched forward. Dani jerked and seemed to come awake. She lifted the gun and clenched her jaw.

“Dani. Put the gun down.” This time his voice reached her. The energy drained from her body and the gun dribbled from her fingers. Reign lunged forward, grabbing the weapon before it could fall. “That’s it, baby. We’ve got you.” He put his arms around her, holding her tight, trying to wipe away some of the terror in her eyes.

“Reign?” She looked up. Her eyes went into overdrive, blinking and tearing up. “Are you a wolf too?”

Reign smiled. “No, Dani.” He almost left it at that. Did she really need any more horror in her life? But he couldn’t. “I’m a Cat.”

  “A cat?”

“Yeah, I’m a shapeshifter but my other form is a cat. Something that looks like a mountain lion.”

“A mountain lion,” she repeated. The laughter that burbled from her throat bordered on the hysterical. “That makes perfect sense.”

He bent down and placed a kiss on her slack lips. “I’m sorry you had to find out this way.”

She nodded but the tight grip on his arm told him she wasn’t done processing it.

“We need to go,” Jackson announced. Reign looked over his shoulder. Jackson had dressed and was looking around the warehouse like other bad guys might appear at any moment. And he was probably right.

“Yeah.” Though he hated to do it, he eased Dani away from his body. “You going to be okay, kitten?”

Dani nodded but he knew the reaction was society’s training. Her mind was somewhere else and he needed Jax to get her away so he could call the cops. At least now he knew what Winston looked like and he knew which Cats were working for him.

“You’ll take her?” It wasn’t so much a question but Jackson nodded.

“I’ve got her.” Jax started toward Dani but stopped, pausing long enough to turn his face, slam his lips against Reign’s. It was a hard toothy kiss. Reign opened his mouth and snagged Jax’s tongue, taking, commanding just for a moment. Their growls matched in the air and they both pulled back.
