  Dedication

For Michael Garvey (Grv), Rachel Majumdar and José Barretta. You shone so bright and left us far too soon. You remind me to make each day count because we never know how many days we have left.

  Shine until tomorrow.

  Acknowledgements

I truly believe that creating and publishing a book is a team effort, and would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped me make Infiltrators the best it could be.

Thanks to my amazing team of beta readers: William McCullough, Isabel Hosier, Anni Willis, Candy Robosky and Kate Ingleby. Your comments were invaluable in helping me improve my manuscript.

A huge thanks to my fantastic editor, Sophie Playle of Liminal Pages, for picking up on my mistakes, polishing my prose and pushing me to become a better writer. I promise that one day I will learn how to use commas properly …

My gorgeous cover was designed by Meg at Jolly Creative Cover Design (bookcovers.megcowley.com).

I thought that my first book would be the hardest to write. But in many ways, I found writing Infiltrators much harder. I have suffered the same crises of confidence and battles with my inner critic as I did with Expendables and have come to accept them as part and parcel of being an author.

But, as the person who bears the brunt of these crises, along with my long working hours, the final thank you has to go to my husband, Sam. Without you, I would spend even more hours in front of the computer and probably turn into a hunchbacked hermit.

  About the Author

Alison Ingleby is an author of sci-fi and fantasy fiction for young adults and adults who are still young at heart.

Alison holds a Master’s degree in Geography from the University of Cambridge and a Master’s degree in Emergency Planning and Management from Coventry University. She’s worked as an emergency planner and sustainability professional in cities across the UK and now happily spends her days as a freelance writer, specialising in helping businesses who love the outdoors as much as she does.

When not writing or curled up in her reading chair with a cup of Yorkshire Tea, Alison loves climbing up cliff faces, running across the Yorkshire moors and hiking up Scottish mountains. Her dream is to live in a Scottish castle by a loch. (Preferably one with central heating and hot water.)
