“Sure I could.”
In the back of my mind, I knew she’d have a few words for me for putting her on the spot.
“That would be fantastic.” Yvonne beamed.
“Yes, thank you, Lynn. This woman thinks microwave dinners means she cooks,” Lance interjected.
We all laughed.
“But I told him, Lynn, I have other skills,” Yvonne added.
We continue to laugh and chat a bit. By the time Lynn got off the phone, she and Yvonne had planned to meet the very next day for the first cooking lesson.
I finished out my day, and when I headed home, my stomach started to tug at me again. Praying it wouldn’t be like the night before, I pulled into a service station, parked, and grabbed the Alka-Seltzer. After taking one with bottled water, I pulling out of the service station and hurried home. Before long I curled up in a ball on my bed. That was it. I was going to the doctor first thing the next morning.

As I had figured, it was a virus. I got an anti-nausea medication my doctor and headed to work. I took my meds and was feeling better. When I got home that day, I wasn’t expecting to see Yvonne’s car. I walked into the house, and the aroma of something good was in the air, so I headed straight to the kitchen.
“Oh, my goodness. Would you look at this?” I said, taking out my phone. Yvonne in the kitchen, in an apron. I’m putting this on Facebook,” I said and snapped a picture.
“Don’t play with me, Will. Don’t nobody need to know that I’m trying to be a little domesticated.” Yvonne tossed an oven mitt at me.
“Hey, baby,” Lynn said.
I walked over to greet her properly with a kiss. “Hey, gorgeous. You teaching this one how to cook?”
“Yep, I am.” She smiled.
“Well, let me get out of you ladies’ way. I’m going up to shower.”
“And you better not post that pic, Will. I’m not playing.”
“I won’t today, but I’ll hold on to it for later. I’m sure I’ll be able to blackmail you with it.”
“Whatever,” Yvonne returned.
We laughed, and then I ran on upstairs to shower. I was anxious for dinner, because it smelled divine.
Chapter Sixteen
Lynn
“I’m going to go and change,” I said. Yvonne was a klutz in the kitchen. She had knocked over the pitcher of lemonade, and some of it had splashed on me.
“I’m so sorry, Lynn,” she said, apologizing again.
“It’s okay. Just keep eye on dinner for me. I won’t be long.” I headed up the steps, shaking my head. This girl was remedial.

Yvonne
“Hey,” I whispered.
“Hey.”
“Listen, I don’t have long. She finally left me alone.”
“Did you plant the stuff, Yvonne?” Lance asked.
“Yes, finally. I put it in her spice cabinet.”
“Good girl.”
“Lance, I don’t know about this. I mean, we could go to jail if we’re caught.” I was nervous.
“We won’t. Now, don’t bitch up on me, baby. I can’t keep falsifying employees on the payroll, Yvonne. We have to take him out, if you want it all, baby. You can’t back out now. He is a stupid-ass, illiterate fool, but he is with Lynn, and she is as sharp as a knife.”
“I know, baby, but any other way but this . . .” I was having second thoughts.
“Yvonne, this is the only way. He dies, she goes to jail, and the company and all the money are ours, baby. Now come on. Put your game face on. We are going to have everything if we stick to the plan.”
“Lance, but I—”
“No buts, Yvonne. We’ve already started, and we can’t turn back now. All we have to do is keep slipping that shit in his food and drinks and, boom, when he dies, they will search his house, and Lynn will be put behind bars. It’s so easy, baby, so come on. Two months tops . . . I mean, we can’t give him as much as the last time. We have to kill him slowly, so he won’t end up in the hospital, where they will figure out that he’s being poisoned. Once we’ve weakened him, we hit him with the fatal dose.”
I just stood and listened to him, biting down on the corner of my lip. The shit we were using was something that they normally ordered in the business, so no one would suspect Lance.
“Yvonne, baby?”
“Yes? I’m here, Lance.”
“Come on, baby. You can do this. We are going to live like a king and a queen when this is done.”
“I hear you,” I whispered.
“Okay, now get your sexy ass home. I have a surprise for you.”
My expression went from one of gloom to a bright smile. “What is it, baby? Tell me.”
“Nope. It’s a surprise.”
“I can’t wait.”
“So wrap up that fake-ass lesson and get home. After this is all said and done, you’ll never have to spend a day in the kitchen, baby. We will have staff to do everything for us. You won’t have to lift a pretty manicured finger.”
“I hope you’re right.”
“Have I ever been wrong?”
“No, baby. Never. I gotta go. Lynn is on her way back down.”
“Okay. I love you, and this is going to work, baby.”
“I hope so,” I said and hung up.
“So is dinner still eatable?” Lynn asked after entering the kitchen.
“I guess. I just stood here,” I said.
Lynn walked over to check on things.
“Listen, Lynn, this has been fun,” I said, taking off my apron, “but I should head home.”
“You’re not going to take a plate for you and Lance? I mean, even though it was a bumpy ride, you did help cook.”
I smiled, because the food did smell good. “Okay. I’ll wait for a couple of plates. Lance needs to taste the fruits of my labor.”
We laughed.
“I know that’s right,” Lynn said.
“Lynn, let me ask you something.”
“Go ahead.”
“It’s about Will.”
She paused. “What about Will?”
“You guys are okay, right? I mean, I know it’s not my place, but you two are doing okay, yes?”
“Of course. Why would you think otherwise? I mean, not too long ago we got married. And we never argue. We are closer than I’ve ever been to any man, so I don’t know what you mean.”
“You’re right, so forget I even said anything,” I said. I was supposed to bring up this topic earlier, but I hadn’t wanted to sound fake. The plan was to create friction, as it would be helpful when making a case against Lynn when the police searched her house.
“No. You brought it up, so what’s going on? Is there something I should know?”
“Well, it’s not any of my business, but Will was over the other night, and I overheard him and Lance talking about you guys, and he was just saying that married life was a bit different for him, and that he was still trying to adjust to having to report to a person every second of the day, and that already the sex has slowed down.”
Dumbfounded, Lynn opened her mouth to reply, but no words came out.
“Listen, Lynn, I didn’t want to say anything, but you know how it is. We sisters have to stick together, and I’m only saying this as a friend. Please don’t mention it to Will, because if you do, Will will know I told you, and then he’ll tell Lance. I’m just looking out . . .”
“Listen, I’m sure it’s nothing, and I know the sex has kinda slowed down, but our lovemaking is just as good,” Lynn said calmly. “As a matter of fact, it’s better, but men are visual, and maybe I’m becoming a little boring. I mean, my mornings are super early, and some projects keep Will late, but I’m not blowing up his phone or anything. I mean, I call him a lot, sometimes just to hear his voice, but reporting to me? I had no idea Will felt that way.”
“Hey, with men you never know. I mean, you can be throwing down your best moves in the bedroom, be looking gorgeous as hell, like myself,
every day, but they still could stray or not appreciate us for what we do. Just please don’t mention it to Will. I don’t want any scoldings from Lance about running my mouth or sticking my nose in where it don’t belong, but I thought it was the right thing to do.” I paused. “I mean, I’m taking cooking lessons, cooking lessons for my man, because I’m trying to keep him,” I joked playfully, but Lynn didn’t laugh with me.
She remained serious and calm.
“Look, I’m sorry,” I said.
“No, no, no, Yvonne. I’m good. Thanks. I know what I’ll be doing tonight, after dinner.” She sipped her wine with a wondering look in her eyes.
I was curious. “What’s that?”
“Well, it damn sure won’t be a movie on the sofa. Just when he thinks it’s time to cuddle close on the sofa with the remote, I’m going to give him something he can feel.” Her look of defeat was replaced with a smile. She went to her pantry, grabbed a couple to-go cartons, and fixed my and Lance’s plate with a bright smile, all the while humming a tune. She packed up some food and handed it to me. Assuring me that our conversation would stay between us, she walked me out.
As soon as I got in the car, I called Lance with an update.
Chapter Seventeen
Lynn
I sat across the table from Will, playing with my food. What Yvonne had said weighed heavily on my mind. How could he have shared that with Lance and not with me? I mean, I had had no clue that he felt bored and smothered. I mean, we hadn’t been married more than eight months, and I didn’t think the thrill was gone. I mean, we got it in whenever we could, sometimes in his office or in my office at the bakery. I knew we had drive-by sex, but I had thought that turned him on.
“Lynn?”
I heard Will’s voice. “Huh? Yes?” I answered.
“Baby, are you okay? I called you, like, three times. What’s on your mind?”
“I’m sorry, baby. I was just thinking. I . . . I . . . I . . . I . . . ,” I stuttered.
“Are you done? I mean, you’re just playing with your food, baby.”
“Yes. I’m sorry. My mind was somewhere else.”
“Like where?” He stood and took my plate.
“Nothing, babe.” I stood quickly. “I can get that. Go and sit on the sofa, and I’ll join you in a minute.”
He stopped me and grabbed my arm. “No. What’s going on? We don’t have secrets from each other. I know that look. When it was time to decide on the finishing touches for the bakery and when we went shopping for the new ovens for our kitchen, you’d stared at your choices with that same expression, so out with it,” he demanded.
I sighed.
“Lynn,” he said, pressing.
I looked down. He lifted my face by my chin.
“Baby, talk to me. What’s on your mind? As long as we’ve been married, as long as we’ve eaten at that table, you’ve never, ever been this quiet.”
“Okay, okay, okay, but please don’t go back to Lance with this.”
“What? What is it? Did he hit on you?”
“No, no, baby. Nothing like that.”
“Then what?”
“When you were over at their house a few nights ago, Yvonne overheard you guys talking,” I said, looking at him with furrowed brows, like he was supposed to say something.
“And?”
“She overheard you say that you were having trouble with having to check in with me and that already our lovemaking was pretty much gone.”
“What?”
“Yvonne said she overheard—”
He cut me off. “I heard what you said, baby, but that is so not what I said or how I said it. Lance and I were chatting, and he was clowning me about being the first to get married. I joked with him about how strange it was to now be responsible for a person other than myself, and about how having to answer to or make plans with someone and make compromises was something new for me. But I said it was okay, because you and I have one heartbeat and our desires are the same. I did say we have resorted to quickies and lazy sex, but I was joking. We are good, baby. I love you. I love how we are and where we are at.”
He went on. “It’s all good, bae. I know you didn’t want to drum up drama, but I can assure you that the conversation we had didn’t have anything negative about you, our marriage, or our routine. Hell, I love getting head in my office and sexing you on your desk. I love every moment I share with you, whether it be face-to-face or on the phone. Baby, I am extremely happy with you. You are the most beautiful, sexy full-figured woman I’ve ever had the pleasure to touch, hold, and make love to. I know that our schedules prevent us from doing all the things we did in our honeymoon stage, baby, but I don’t have one complaint.”
I smiled brightly. “Bae, I knew she was exaggerating about the conversation. I knew it. I know you, and I know you’d talk to me, so I’m sorry for not just coming to you pronto. I’m sorry for not saying something right away. You are the sweetest man on the planet, Will. Before you, I had no idea that love and marriage could be this good. This sexy, this romantic, and this beautiful.”
I stepped back and began to remove my clothes, and he kept his eyes locked on me. “I feel like the most beautiful woman in the world when I’m with you,” I said and continued to undress. “I feel free, sexy, wanted, needed, and it’s all because of you,” I added, stepping out of my panties.
His man was at full attention as he surveyed the curves and rolls of my plus-size frame. I was smooth with my movements as I took a couple of steps closer to him to undress him.
“Baby, you are turning me on so much right now that I’m scared I’m going to explode the minute I slide inside of you.”
“That’s the thing. You can do that, because we have all night.”
Within a few moments, I was giving him the sexiest and wettest blow job I’d ever given him. His back was against the dining room wall, and he watched my sexy, thick legs hold a squat position as I pleased my man.
He closed his eyes, but I begged him to watch.
“That will make it impossible for me not to nut all over the place. Seeing your beautiful face, your lustful mouth, and your naked curves makes me want to make a baby, buy out the mall, give up a kidney. Anything you need, I’d give it all!”
I slurped and sucked harder, making sucking sounds, as if his dick was better than the dinner I had prepared earlier.
“Yes, baby. I love you. I love all of you. You are the sexiest BBW, thick chick, full-figured woman, or whatever society uses these days to describe your curves.”
He was sweet, because all the words he spoke were society’s nice way of saying a woman was fat. Fat wasn’t a sinful word; it was the truth. The soft bulges were fat, but society had turned that word into something so negative, people didn’t want to be called it.
“Oh, Lynn, baby. You are so good, baby,” he said, looking down at me.
I knew my performance was stellar that night, and he definitely let me know it.
“You are damn good at pleasing my dick, baby.... Let me taste you,” he moaned.
“No. I want you to cum in my mouth,” I said between slurps and licks.
“Do you, baby? Do you, baby?” he moaned. “I can cum in your mouth, baby,” he said and grabbed my head with both hands. He worked his pelvis and then quickly pulled away. “I want to be inside of you. I want to give you a baby. I want my seeds inside of you. Lynn. I want a child. I want to take you upstairs and make love to you. I want to cum with you. Inside of you. I want us to make a baby.”
I smiled. We had said over and over again that we would start trying, but he still hardly ever deposited inside of me, and I had never stopped taking the pill.
“Are we really ready to be parents?” I asked.
“I don’t know about you, but I am,” he answered.
“Well, let’s take this upstairs.”
He followed me, watching my voluptuous hips sway from side to side.
“I am under your spell, baby. Look at you. I love watching y
ou walk. Men who can’t appreciate all of this are just plain old crazy. Those fat-ass thighs are my safe haven when I penetrate you, baby. Holding on to you after the lovemaking makes it even better for me. I am in love, lust, and am mesmerized by you, woman. You are gorgeous from head to toe, and don’t you forget it.”
I turned to him, smiled, and then wrapped my arms around his neck. He kissed me gently.
“I won’t. You are the best thing that has ever happened to me. And I’m not ashamed or embarrassed to be myself with you. Thank you for that, baby,” I said.
He smiled. “No. Thank you for sharing your love with me.” He kissed me again, and then we headed on up to bed.

Will
Awakened by the ringing doorbell, I managed to get out to bed. It was Saturday, and Lynn had already gone to the bakery. My first appointment was with Yvonne for party planning. I stepped into my boxers and then some sweats and grabbed a tee and put it on as I headed down the steps.
Someone was still ringing the hell out of my bell, so I yelled, “I’m coming.”
I opened the door to a perky Yvonne, with a briefcase and breakfast.
“Rise and shine, Will. We have party planning.” She walked in without being invited again, and I followed her into the kitchen and over to the island. “I got us some breakfast and some ideas,” she said. She handed me a cup of orange juice, and I was so thirsty, I opened the lid and drank the juice straight down.
It was bitter. “Can you please stop bringing me this sugar-free OJ? I mean, I know you watch your figure and all, but I am a man, Yvonne, and I not only do construction, but I also work out. That bitter-ass juice tastes like crap.”
“I will keep that in mind. But remember, you are not as young as you used to be, so you should take better care of yourself. All that sugar they put in juices nowadays ain’t good for you, old man.”
“Whatever. What’s all this?” I asked and then opened up the McDonald’s bag to see what she had brought for breakfast. Lynn and I had had a good night, and I was drained and starving. “Steak bagel. Yvonne, I hope you got me two,” I said.
