  What readers are saying…

“I am pretty sure, but I think I stopped breathing for a little while as I read the breakin part and the fun scenarios that ensued. Liz Adams can create some hot scenes in the kitchen! I will never look at a spatula quite the same way again! *fans face* This read was a HEA with a surprising twist. You may think you know just how each of these three bears is going to react to Goldie sleeping in their beds, but just wait. You won’t see this one coming.” – Erzabet Bishop, author of The Erotic Pagans Series – Beltane Fires

“Scarlett O’Hara. Lolita. Holly Golightly. Some characters jump off the page and stay with us – forever. Goldie, the eponymous heroine of Liz Adams’s palimpsest Goldie’s Locks & The Three Men, belongs in this small elite group. We first meet her in what at first seems like a fairy tale. Her blonde ponytail bobs behind her as her cherry-red heels clip clop along in what might be a forest glade until, with some surprise, we find her on the sidewalk in Las Vegas about to enter a casino. Goldie is not what Goldie seems. She is a thief. A pro. The real deal.” – Chloe Thurlow, author of Girl Trade and expert of The Fifty Shades of Grey Phenomena

“Now, I’m not normally one to tackle erotic versions of stories I read growing up. I tend to stick to paranormal/fantasy, so this was a little trip outside my comfort zone. A trip that was unexpectedly delightful. With my baby brain lately, I’ve found it hard to concentrate on anything for too long, so thought I’d tackle it over two days, despite only being a novella. I didn’t stick to that plan. I got it read in an afternoon. Although I was a bit cautious going in to it, the details and flow of the story make the pages take on a life of their own. The characters are much more adult in a delightfully wicked sense, and Goldie was quite endearing, for a strong-willed thief. The other characters played off her quite well, and while all the personalities complimented each other in quite interesting ways, they were all strongly individual.” – Phoenix Johnson author of The Wolf in the Neighborhood

“Since I am an author of erotic fairy tales, this story caught my interest. The story followed ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’ enough for me to recognize it, but it was so different from the fairy tale it felt like an entirely new work. This is a fun little book that was a pleasant break for me. Ms. Adams’ sense of humor is right on target, and the sex in this book is… let me just say, Wow!” – Elizabeth Black, author of an erotic ‘Puss in Boots’ Trouble in Thigh High Boots (Lactation Sex)

  GOLDIE’S LOCKS

  AND THE THREE MEN

  PART 1

  Seven Months Ago

Goldie’s ponytail bobbed as she clicked along the busy sidewalk in cherry red heels and a low-cut high-thigh dress to match. She loved the brilliant sizzle of night lights webbing across the Las Vegas streets. Just ahead the next casino to case, The Obelisk, stood tall and sparkled in the warm night air. There she’d find a good mark working his luck just waiting to be plucked.

The automatic sliding glass doors snicked open, welcoming her with cool air conditioning and the teasing sounds of slot machines clinking winnings to waiting hands. She passed the slot machines, ignored the low-dollar poker tables, and made a beeline for the circular bar, near the hundred-dollar poker tables. Goldie edged onto a stool.

A female bartender in a black polo shirt with the casino logo on her breast wiped down the bar. “What’ll you have?”

“Tonic water with lime, no ice.”

When the drink came, Goldie tipped her well. She sipped from the tall glass and scanned the players at the high-stakes tables. This part of the job put her in an almost meditative state.

A man in a gray suit whose back was to her howled with glee. He’d won a hand. Not exactly the typical poker player outfit. Most men wore polo shirts or T-shirts or other relaxed wear. She made a mental note of him. How much was Lady Luck interested in staying with him?

Two other men and one woman won hands but Gray Suit Boy had the most winning hands. Drink unfinished, Goldie stood and smoothed down her crimson silk dress. She adjusted her breasts to spill out just a bit more and sauntered over to the man whose luck was about to get bigger.

When she looked over his shoulder, her heartbeat quickened. Among the rainbow stacks of chips in front of him was a nice stack of burgundy chips. Goldie counted them, each edge of the chip like a notch on a safe’s combination dial. Her breathing got heavier. Seventeen chips. She thought of all the exotic places she could go with seventeen grand. Biting her lip, she took a look at the mug on this guy. Whoa! At first glance he looked like Justin Timberlake. The poker player’s nose was a bit bigger, but his eyes had the same dreamy passion Justin had when he sang. She would have no problems following through with this mark.

“Yeah!” His howl of good fortune announced another win. The thin dealer with a pencil mustache slid another burgundy chip to him.

She had to act fast. Too
many times she hadn’t seduced the mark away from the table fast enough and the target ended up losing everything. If a guy was gonna lose all his winnings, wouldn’t it be better to lose it all to a sexy woman who showed him a good time than to lose it to the house?

  She inched closer. “Hi, there.”

“Hi.” He looked up from his winnings. He grinned at her breasts, right at his eye level. “Oh. Well, hello there.”

She shifted her hips to let her body wiggle in all the right places. “Looks like luck is with you tonight.”

“Not yet.” He tossed a black chip onto the center green felt to play another hand. “If I win twenty thousand tonight, then luck is with me.”

After the expressionless dealer dealt the next hand, her mark looked at his own cards. Goldie saw he had two fives. There had to be a way to get him to stop playing.

  “So what’s your name, Ace?”

“Gary.” He tossed in two burgundy chips.

Damn. There went a waste of two grand.

“Well, Gary, what do you say you take me upstairs after this hand and fill me up with some of that luck of yours? The way you’re making me feel right now, I could sure use some.” She pitched her voice for his ears only.

He paused from the game to feast on her body. He eyed her up and down, and scratched his chin. “I might just take you up on that offer. After I win my twenty thousand.”

You mean lose twenty thousand. Goldie caught a peek at the target’s new hand, now that he had exchanged three cards. Lady Luck went off to get a cosmopolitan. The new cards didn’t help his hand. He still had only two fives.

Biting his lip, he raised his bet with another burgundy chip. Idiot! Sure enough, when the dealer showed his cards, the house won with three sevens.

She put her arm around the mark’s shoulders. “Aww, that’s okay. Why don’t I give it a kiss and make it feel better?” She placed a hand on his thigh and squeezed.

  “Soon. Real soon.”

Goldie almost couldn’t watch. Either he had dumb luck all this time or his playing had become reckless. She told herself he may be a lost cause and prepared to leave him to his own ruin. When his next hand turned up three nines, she decided to stay one last round. The schlub threw in two burgundy chips.

She cursed herself. Not getting him away from the table fast enough cost her five thousand dollars. With all her jobs these past few months in Vegas, she had overstayed her welcome and knew it was only a matter of time before the heat caught up to her. She needed to do one last job to pay for moving to a different city. Preferably Chicago. If Gray Suit Boy kept throwing money away, she’d have less money to cover the costs of the move. With that single hand, losing five thousand dollars made her adjust her plans from a month in a penthouse to staying at a three-bedroom apartment. If he kept on losing, she’d have to find another mark.

His new cards came in and didn’t help his hand. Three nines. When it came time to bet again, the fool gave up another burgundy. He’d be down six grand, unless he won. If he won, he’d have his twenty thousand dollars and then some.

Lady Luck must have not only finished her cosmopolitan, she must have also gone to the ladies room and diddled herself silly because now she was back and ready to kick ass. Gary didn’t just beat the house, he beat the other two players at the table, as well.

Goldie wasn’t sure who cheered louder, Gary or herself. Next step would be to share a few kisses in his room, tie him up, and take his chips. He jumped up from his seat and gave her a hard kiss on the lips. Goldie wasn’t expecting his kiss to make her knees tremble as much as they did. That kiss made her decide right there and then to delay the bondage thing and let him have full access to her body before she gained full access to his winnings.

“Come on, Ace. Time to fill me with some of that luck of yours.”

  ***

Goldie batted her eyes at him and played coy all the way up the elevator and down the hall to his hotel room. In his room, Gary emptied his pockets of chips and placed them in the room’s safe.

“Aw, what’s a matter, Gary. You don’t trust me?” She placed her red, satin clutch purse on the counter.

He typed in a personal lock code Goldie couldn’t see. “Nothing against you, Baby. But right now I can’t afford to trust anyone.”

When he stood back up, Goldie grabbed his belt buckle and unthreaded the leather strap. “Let’s get you out of these.”

He scowled. “Don’t you want to tell me your prices first?”

Oops. This wasn’t the first time her mark thought she was a hooker. The easiest way to dispose of any suspicion in these instances was to follow through with their assumption.

“Thanks for the reminder, Ace. I got so hot at the prospect of riding a man as sexy as you, that I forgot about my rates.” She slid her hands down her sides to play the part. “I normally charge five hundred dollars for a house call, but for you,” she ran her hands over her breasts, “I’d love to do you for four.”

He whistled. “I’ve never spent that much on an extravagance, but seeing how tonight has been so good to me, four hundred it is.” He punched his code to the safe, opened it, and extracted four black chips before locking it up again. Goldie still didn’t catch the code. She took the chips from his hand. “Thanks.” She placed the chips on the counter and reached the back of her dress to undo her zipper.

“Wait a sec.” He touched her arm. “For four hundred dollars, I want to enjoy this.” Crouching in front of the mini-bar, he snapped the beaded plastic tie seal and tugged the fridge door open. “I’ve never used a mini-bar, either. Tonight I’m going to break all my rules.”

Break all the rules. God, how those words excited her.

He stood up and whipped off his tie. Her heart pumped with relentless abandon. Was he going to tie her? She hoped so.

“Go ahead.” He pointed to the mini-bar. “Take anything you like. I promise not to look.”

Shit. Did he know she was a thief?

He gestured to the mini-bar again. “When you’re done with your drink, I’ll guess what you had. If I guess correctly, I get to make you more comfortable.”

She let out a breath. He didn’t know she was a thief, he only wanted to play a game. Though it wasn’t clear what he meant by making her more comfortable, this sounded like a great game. “And if you guess wrong?”

“I’ll give you one of my famous massages.” He winked at her.

She eyed his wide hands. How could she lose? “Alright, then. Don’t look.”

He turned his back. For a moment, she planned to end the charade. With his back to her, she could grab a few of his ties from the closet, jump him, and tie him up. There would be a few seconds of him yelling, but when is yelling in a Vegas hotel room suspicious? She could gag him with a balled up sock, get his chips and leave. She’d be long gone before he could call the authorities.

But he had to say the magic words. Break all the rules. Why did that sound so appealing? He even had some mysterious game up his sleeve. It could be innocent, it could be dangerous. Why did she hope it would be dangerous?

She smiled and dipped beside the mini-bar and examined her choices. Inside chilled the cutest selection of miniaturized bottles with all different shapes and shades of intoxication.

She checked behind her. Was he true to his word? Yep, he wasn’t peeking. She chose the Johnnie Walker Red Label whiskey, twisted off the cap, and gulped a nice bullet. The liquid heat fired down her throat and made her head a bit dizzy. She closed the bottle and returned it to the mini-bar before shutting the fridge door.

“Done.” She stood up. “What do you think I dr—”

He spun and thrust his lips against hers. The surprise kiss shook her to her core, spurning on a fire that reached all the other parts of her body the whiskey missed. His delicious tongue snuck inside her lips. He tasted sweet. Having his body pressed hard against her brought on a stream of comfort she wasn’t used to. Was this what he meant by making her feel more comfortable? By the sensa
tion at her thigh, his torso wasn’t the only thing pressed hard against her.

When he broke the kiss, he whispered, “Whiskey.”

Damn! No, wait, losing wasn’t a bad thing in this game, was it? Answering that question was too difficult. After a kiss like that, she had to put all her concentration into standing upright. “You win.”

What was it he won? Oh, yeah. He gets to make me more comfortable.

  “Lie on the bed.”

She saluted. “Yes, sir!” She could do that. Lying was her specialty. She hopped her butt onto the bed and scooted to lay her head atop a pillow.

“Let’s start with your shoes.” He carefully unbuckled the straps of her pumps and slipped them off. She wiggled her toes at the open air, enjoying the release.

He climbed above her, placing a knee on either side of her waist. It was so sexy to have a man dressed in a white dress shirt and suit pants on top of her. It made her feel prized, so different from the way others had treated her. But she knew feeling prized was just an illusion. He wanted her body, plain and simple. Finding prince charming was just a fairy tale. He reached for the band at her ponytail but she pulled her head away.

He scowled. “I’m just helping you let your hair down.”

Goldie gulped and remember Paul. “I can’t. Anything else is fine. Just not that, okay?”

He shrugged. She let out a sigh of relief when he wrapped his arms around her. Good. He wasn’t offended. She anticipated another kiss but instead, he unzipped her dress and unclasped her bra. Her body celebrated the freedom from her bra’s restraint.

  He smiled. “Better?”

  “Much.”

“Now to make your bra disappear.” Gliding his fingertips up along her arms, he crept under her sleeves and tugged down at her shoulder straps. She made his task easier for him and pulled her elbows out of the straps. Once the straps slipped back through her sleeves, he tucked a hand down the front of her dress and removed her bra creating brief, not all-too-unpleasant friction against her nipples.

He threw the bra over his shoulder. It fell to the floor. “Presto.”
