She had delivered it in her trusty Prius and had assembled the tiers on-site at the Bearpaw Springs Resort's restaurant.

In an unexpected bonus, the restaurant manager had contacted Annabeth immediately after the wedding and asked if she'd be interested in becoming one of the resort's preferred wedding vendors.

Annabeth had enthusiastically agreed, and Dane's youngest brother Ashton had promptly created a website for her new Special Occasion Cakes service.

Within two weeks, Annabeth had found herself with more wedding cake orders than she could handle for the rest of summer, and she actually had to turn away business, even with Kayla's help.

Elle had graciously ceded control of the big kitchen, with its generous counter space, to Annabeth's new mixers, pans, and cake decorating equipment, all hastily purchased at the restaurant supply warehouse to replace the items ruined in the fire.

Kayla cheerfully switched roles from barista to baking assistant and delivery driver. Her shifter strength meant that she was a huge help in delivering the large, heavy, tiered wedding cakes.

The stream of orders had meant that Annabeth was able to continue making her mortgage payments on the bakery building throughout the summer and also pay for upgraded appliances.

Annabeth knew she'd miss Kayla when her assistant departed to start veterinary school in the fall, but Kayla had already mentioned that one of her sisters was interested in coming to work at the bakery.

"See, I told you everything was going to turn out okay," Dane whispered as they looked out over the sea of faces gathered to witness their marriage.

  He was right.

Standing in front of her assembled family, friends, and neighbors on a beautiful autumn afternoon, with Dane at her side, Annabeth Jones Swanson realized that she had found her happily ever after.
