They gained the ability to shift between the weapon and tool version which was perfect. All those cost me 50 silvers with Rama’s being 15 silvers by itself.
I then bought a few books on trap and basic dungeon layout and a pamphlet with tips to making dungeon rooms of different types. This surprisingly cost me 2 gold coins. I guess knowledge is more important than tools.
After me, everyone else bought their own things.
During all this time Dan would occasionally look over towards the slimes for some reason so I asked the maids.
“Why he did that? Hmm miss Kawi do you know why?” The elf maid asked the halfling maid.
"It’s because he researched it before but never figured it out. Wasted about 5 years of his life trying to study slimes with little success except categorizing many new types which wasn’t really what he wanted.” Kawi-san said.
Ah so it was that. I remember there were many ex-researchers that appeared regularly when I was still with Dalton.
I understood their desire, obviously anyone who could make so many mimic slimes could become a powerful man. If he went around and progressively grow his mimics eventually he will get his hands on really big monsters. In other words, he will become powerful.
Still, I held my tongue tightly BECAUSE I know how dangerous it will be to let the conditions for mimic out into the world.
Soon everyone has what they wanted. The boys all purchased pickaxes since they can’t magically multiply it and theirs is probably wearing down. They also bought basic weapon making tools.
They both probably have some knowledge that was passed to them on building a craft zone early on.
I will probably need to set up one but I worried that it would end drying up the slimes.
I will need to be careful with that and probably specialize a few mimics with fire magic and high resistance to heat for those tasks.
For the girls, Nova also purchased pickaxes but it seems she also bought lizard animal digging gloves.
Stephanie on the other hand only bought books on nature based traps and structures and dungeons as well as how to breed trees underground. After seeing that book I also bought it since I was interested in that as well.
With that finally done, we make sure that everyone is ready for the trek to the dungeon field. It was then that I remember something.
“Hey, is there a florist around here that sells fruit trees?” I asked.
“Yes, there is one one about two streets over, why?” Kawi answered.
"I wanted to get some fruit tree saplings to use as the base for a few slime mimics forms. I don’t know if it will work but if they copy the fruit tree production, maybe I can make some slime based fruit or it can be used as a trap for monsters.” I said.
She nodded satisfied with the reason for the detour and guided us to the florist.
The place was like a huge greenhouse with many shelves filled with saplings. When we met the owner the elderly lady looked at us curiously.
“My~? What can I do for you today sweetie?” The florist asked.
“One of the students wants to experiment with tree based monsters and would like to purchase several fruit tree saplings, do you by chance have any?” Kawi asked for us.
“Oh my? Is that so, please come this way then.” She waved us over and we moved into a different greenhouse behind the first one.
There were a new series of saplings all over the place with all of them all tree and bush based.
“Choose whichever you like.” The elderly florist said.
I walked around and spotted several that interested me. For one I bought several of basic fruits like apple, orange, peaches and pears. As for more exotic ones I took the Mecran, a citrus flavored fruit that is similar to apples but with the taste of a citrus fruit. The Hornut, a strange black nut that looks similar to a pine nut in American rainforest but a bit more poisonous for humans and the Lilith, a fruit that is an appetizer for monsters and draws them in when the fruit is matured.
It is said that the Lilith is a fruit created by one of the gods in honor of a great Demon of seduction as such it can attract many monsters but it is very poisonous to any monster but very bland to any sentient beings. I'm quite curious as to how it will react if it were bred from a mimic.
I bought 6 of each tree which cost me a total of 6 gold coins as well as several berry bushes from the normal section.
The rest I would take regular sprouts and bushes as I go.
As we leave the shop after paying, I felt my stomach churn.
It was already 9:30 and we are already hungry, even though we’ve just had a breakfast.
“Um...can we eat before we leave.” I asked and everyone nodded as they were in the same situation.
The maids led us further away from the school past the normal two street restriction and took us into a cafe.
The place was filled with both young and older people all of which live and work all over the place.
Our group took up three tables. I sat with Stephanie, Asher, Owen and Nova with the slimes laying down on Rama who was behind me.
As we waited we looked around quite a bit excited at the sites we didn’t get to see much. It was then that I felt a poke on my shoulder. When I turned I found Peach looking at me with a confused expression.
"Is something wrong?” I asked.
“What?” She asked while pointing at a pair of people on the other side of the street.
It was a pair of students who were making out. I quickly felt my face get a bit red as well as seeing the other five act similar.
“Um...they are...kissing?” I replied
“Why?” She asked.
“Be-because they love each other?” I replied nervous.
“Kiss...when...love?” She asked tilting her head.
I nodded and she smiled brightly and jumped on me and hugged me.
“Master...love!” Was all she said before she connected her lips to mine and kissed.
My mind blanked out and a moment later she parted with a big smile but I was in shock.
“Masta…Lohu…” Said a familiar voice from the blue slime boy.
Glop ran over and when I noticed he connected his lips as well copying Peach and kissed me. My mind shut off at this point and I just sat frozen like that. When he separated he smiled like Peach and looked to me innocently.
Still as they smiled, I just sat there unable to process what was going on.
“That was my first kiss…” I muttered as my mind’s going on to shutdown.
“H-Hey...Kuroko? Are...are you ok?” Asher asked and looked into my eyes and waved his hand in front of my face.
“She’s in shock!” Kawi said having seen what happened.
“Let me handle this, even she can’t ignore this.” Stephanie said as she got up then walked behind me and started to pet me.
When no reaction came she looked shocked. “Woah! This is serious! She is completely down!” Stephanie said.
"I think it's better to lay her down a bit. As for you two. Don’t kiss Kuroko without warning ok.” Kawi said making the two slimes nod but the damage was already done.
Not knowing what to do they just put me laying down on top of Rama and ate up after closing my eyes and letting me rest my head a bit. When I finally woke up. I was riding Rama halfway to the dungeon fields already. They explained what happened and I scolded the two slimes really heavily.
I was beet red for half the trip mainly because the maids and the girls wouldn’t stop pestering me.
It was only after we finally reach the dungeon fields that they shut up.
It was finally time to get to work.
With Kumi and Kawi coming to my dungeon it was time to start making this dungeon into what I had in mind.
Chapter 20 The Silver Slime Boss
Standing in front of Shai's dungeon entrance, Kawi, Kumi and I looked around. The regular grasslands that make up the area was rather wide. The only things you could see were Owen and Asher's dungeon entrance
s which were exactly 100 meters away from here.
When we reached the dungeon field each maid took it upon themselves to split up and stay with a pair of kids. The method to decide the groups were simple. Roommates.
Once that was done we split up. Asher was chaperoned by the half elf with Margaret following. Owen was followed by the dog demihuman with Zachary behind him.
The elf went with Stephanie with Emily following and lastly the cat demihuman followed Nova who dragged Eleonora to her dungeon.
Once we split up our trek was slower than the others, because I kept searching around for tree sprouts, bush sprouts, and other plants, while asking for help from the two of them.
Finally done and all the sprouts stored, I led them inside. Inside was the same small one person lift which I slightly frowned at.
"Shai, can you slightly improve the lift to be able to handle a basic six man party?" I said out loud and received a reply in my head.
"Yes mistress but it shall empty my reserve of mana" she replied.
"I've got stored mana in the ring so don't worry." I said.
With my reassurance the lift began to shine.
The old rotten looking lift began to expand and becoming larger with much newer wood boards. The crank wheel vanished and a single lever appeared at the back of the of the lift. On the corner of the lift a half meter tall wooden fence appeared for small safety measure against falling. There's also a small gate at the front. The last part that changed was around the lift which made from a refined wooden platform about a half meter out from the lift. Probably some kind of anchor or area used for the gears.
"There... mistress." Shai said exhausted.
"We will go straight to give you the mana so hold on. Come on jump in guys." I said and called the two guests.
With them aboard I push the lever that was situated on a large gear. The lift rocked as it began lowering.
Below the platform you could see many gears turning and on all corners were metal support beams holding the the lift as well as giving a location for smaller gears to work as they make the ones on the lift turn and push us down.
It's a lot safer now since it added safety measures in case of breaking.
All the support beams were built like elevator shafts so many are slightly jagged and should the lift start falling, those jagged parts will open and grab the lift.
In no time at all we reached the room and I find the previously unsummoned Rama, Peach and Glop waiting for us. When we got off the lift, the two slimes ran over.
“Master...love!” Peach said as she came running. I quickly turned bright red.
“W-Wait!! Unsummon!” I shouted.
The two slimes vanished and were transported to my pocket space.
I breathed a sigh of relief but my face was still bright red at what was about to happen again. "Ok, let's head off to Shai's crystal, I need to replenish her mana before anything can go wrong." I said.
The two girls nodded and we started to follow both wearing wry smiles.
The corridors were complete now. A full three meters high and two wide with somewhat smooth walls that had most of the jagged points chipped away and the floor being the same. At the very top of the ceiling were glowing white rocks every five meters which lit up the corridors, making it easier to traverse.
After walking a bit we reached the room that had Shai's core. It had a pale yellow green shine contrary to the normal bright glow it gave off.
I ran over and with my right hand in a fist I touch the crystal with my ring's stone.
At once the shine in the core regained its vigor even greater than before as she greedily sucked up my gathered mana.
When the ring was empty I heard a sigh from Shai who felt relief after gaining mana again.
With my current mana capacity being 6700 at this moment gathering an entire week's worth everyday loading the crystal at full capacity, it holds quite a scary amount of mana.
"Ah~! Thank you mistress, the lack of mana is really uncomfortable." She said in a warm tone showing her happiness from having her mana regained back.
"Good, now for the first order of business. I had my father breed a boss monster for you." I said and summoned the pink mimic slime.
"Oh my? Isn't that the slime I brought you this morning?" Kawi-san asked.
"Yep, I had Dalton search for two specific races for this one." I said and gave an order for it to transform into the animal form.
The slime expanded greatly until it was nearly three meters tall. Its body grew bulky and muscular. His arms grew long and reached his short knees. The last thing to form were the very sharp claws on the hands and feet and the fangs that appeared from his mouth.
“Miss… Kuroko, this is a war bear isn’t it?” Kawi-san asked
“Yep, not only that, I had Dalton go out of his way to make this slime especially special, which is a demi human form. Show them!”
On my order the body of the bear began to contract. The arms grew shorter to human length and his height went down to 240 cm tall as his face and his large build became more human like. The short legs grew longer and human like as well and were very muscular. On his head was the small ears of a bear.
When it was done, he looked like a massive body builder or a really tall lumberjack.
“Woah…” Was all we could say. The massive figure expelled a lot of power as he looked down at us.
He bowed towards me as his master. “Well, from now on you are going to be my pet, and your job is to become the boss monster of my dungeon. If the need arises I will also summon you outside.” I said and the order was received with a nod. At once, tables of messages appeared before me.
You have made the Elite monster Pink Slime into a boss monster of your dungeon.
Your dungeon has leveled up. Concentration of mana has risen to 1.2
Due to being designated as a boss monster of a dungeon, Pink Slime has ranked up.
All at once, I could feel and saw the changes. First the quality of the mana in the air grew a bit and second was the slime. He began to release and absorb the greater amount of ambient mana.
After a minute the pink color changed. Like a wave, from his nucleus that was in the place of his heart, a wave of silver came from it and covered the body.
Seeing him like that, we were all shocked. What do you expect, when what you know is that pink mimics are supposed to be the final color in rareness, you got to know that there's a colour higher higher than that.
I really didn’t expect this but I kind of should have. Peach was an elite monster while being a pink slime so obviously a boss class had to be higher but I thought that a boss monster would still be pink but stronger and with the title of boss.
The slime let out a yawn and turned into his monster form and went over near the crystal and let his body fall and went to sleep.
“Well...he sure is a lazy one.” Kumi said earning a nod from both me and Kawi.
“Um...maybe we should just leave and get started with whatever you wanted to do Kuroko.” Kawi said.
“Yes, let's go. Shai, can you gather all the new mimic slimes you have been breeding at the door of the slime room?” I said.
“Of course mistress!” She said in a cheerful tone.
We leave the room and head to the intersection that led to her room and turn right straight into the slime breeding room.
In the room were many slimes and near the left side near the back of the room was a small hole where the slimes were coming and going as they entered the mushroom farm and returned.
Waiting near the door were around 30 green mimic slimes.
“Ok all of you, from today onwards, in daytime you are all my tamed pets, but once the day ends you will return to Shai’s command.” I said simply and at once thirty messages of mimic slimes being tamed appeared.
I unsummon them sending them all into my pocket dimension and we leave the dungeon to get the slime traps ready.
I resummon them all outside after we spread all the pl
ants around.
"Okay, let's see here, you in the front absorb this tree and choose a nearby location and try to mimic it." I said while ordering the slime to absorb an apple tree sprout.
It walked over, jumped on top of the sprout, went to spread over it, and absorbed the sprout in one go.
Mimic slime has absorbed an apple tree and taken that as its main transformation.
I smiled and nodded. “Good, it can properly mimic plants, now to see how it turns out.” I said. I order the slimes to stay in place and make the one that absorbed the tree to follow me.
About 10 meters in front of the entrance, I stop.
“Ok, this seems as good as any, transform here.” I order the slime and it began to transform.
The slime firstly digged the ground out, making a small hole that fit half of its body, and then it began transforming.
The slime spread straight up for about half a meter but soon, I see it swaying after it finished. At the base was still quite a lot of slime.
“Don’t forget to mimic the roots. Also absorb nutrients from the ground to grow like a real plant.” I said.
At once the small ball of slime began shrinking and I could see through its transparent body. The heavy swaying quickly stopping as the roots spread.
The mimicked tree was half a meter tall with six branches and slime leaves that look just like real ones, though transparent.
As I examine I noticed how the tall grass around it started to dry out and crumble and saw how the slime had begun to get bigger.
“He is killing off the grass around here to grow! Change of orders. Grow only to adult size of a real apple tree and defend the domain of Shai’s dungeon. Don’t attack monsters of this dungeon or humans unless they are hostile and don’t attack my slimes or other slime trees.” I said quickly and just as I said that the growing speed decreased but still spread. The rooms spread out in a circle of 2.5 meters in radius around the slime tree. Even then it didn’t stop growing until it was a little over nine meters high and wide.
