She eyed him in disbelief. "That's what you're sorry for?" She couldn't believe what he was saying. "So never mind that you pulled me away from my friends or that you practically carried me out of the club; you're just sorry you kissed me." She stood up and paced to the window. Boy was she wrong about him. Her Brandon was a figment of her imagination.
"I said I was sorry I kissed you THAT WAY. I didn't say I was sorry I kissed you." She glanced back at him. There he was staring into her eyes...searching. "I just hadn't wanted our first kiss to be in public." He decided to leave out that he almost took her right there on the table.
She gazed into his eyes and her anger faded away. She smiled teasingly. "So you've been imagining kissing me?"
He sighed, not realizing he had been holding his breath. He pulled her close to him and touched his lips softly to hers. This time he let his tongue trace her lips and explore the inside of her mouth. She pressed her body against him and he immediately responded. He gently picked her up and laid her down on the sofa not letting his lips leave hers. He was going to take this slow. He wanted to savor Missy. He wanted to taste her, pleasure her, and he planned on doing it multiple times. He touched her breast through the thin silky fabric of her dress. Her nipples were hard. She moaned as he took one of them in his mouth. She could feel his warm breath through the fabric and it sent shivers straight down her body. He took off her dress keeping his eyes on hers. He looked at her laying in his living room naked, wanting, and immediately was hard. He had dreamed of this moment for the last month, but nothing could have prepared him for it. Missy reached up and pulled off the tight t-shirt he had changed into before going to the club. She dug her nails into the tense muscles in his back, bringing him down for another kiss. Her need drove him crazy. He quickly shook off his pants and went back to giving her nipples attention. His hands explored every part of her. Just when she thought she couldn't take his taunting anymore, his lips moved from her nipples to her stomach. He licked and sucked his way down to her legs, sprinkling kisses all the way up her thighs until he reached her dampness. Missy pulled at his hair and swayed her hips. He sucked her clit making her moan and buckle. Touching her opening with his fingers, he dipped one in, then two. She came undone underneath him. "Mmmm, you taste good," he groaned in a sultry voice. He couldn't wait any more. He picked his body off of hers and reached in the pocket of his jeans for a condom. She watched anxiously as he rolled it on. He entered her slowly knowing how tight she was with only his finger. When she took him in, she was already on the verge of coming again. He reached down and flicked her clit and she shattered. He couldn't take anymore. When he felt her start to pulse below him, he exploded. They laid there a moment catching their breath and letting the aftershocks settle.
Chapter 8
Missy woke up the next morning still a little dazed from the nights activities. She felt satisfied. When she turned to snuggle into Brandon, she found only empty sheets. She knew he had been up for some time because the space where he had slept was cold. She stretched and pulled herself out of bed. Her clothes were still in the living room where Brandon had undressed her the night before so she grabbed a t-shirt he had on a chair by his bed. As she entered the main area of the penthouse she smelled coffee. Mmmm, just what she needed. She followed the aroma to the kitchen just off of the living room. Brandon was standing at the stove preparing breakfast. It looked like enough food to feed a small army. He was wearing nothing but his jeans, just like she envisioned him the day before. Her imagination could not have prepared her for the stunning figure standing before her. The jeans fit perfectly around his tight ass. When he turned, she could see the ripples in his abs. His jeans hung loosely on his hips with the button still undone. It was an invitation for her to keep looking farther down. Missy decided she loved to see him in the morning.
"Good morning; did you sleep okay?" He handed her a cup of coffee. He had come to realize she was immobile before her morning jolt. "I made breakfast; I wasn't sure what you liked so I made a little of everything."
Missy reached for yogurt and a spoon and sat down at the large mahogany and steel table he had in the kitchen. "Is that all you are going to eat?" Brandon questioned as he placed a plate filled with eggs and bacon, a bagel, and a piece of fruit on the other side of the pub table.
"You must have the metabolism of a horse." Missy had never seen so much food piled onto one plate. She knew he worked out, that was evident in his incredible body, but if he ate like that he must spend a lot of time in the gym.
Brandon looked at the shocked expression she had on her face and laughed. "Why do you always laugh at me?" she asked sarcastically.
"Because you're cute," he answered as he took a large spoon of eggs and placed them on the plate in front of her. "Here; you need to eat. You're going to need all the energy you can get today."
Missy looked up sheepishly and turned a pale shade of pink.
"Missy, do you know what you do to me when you blush that way?" Brandon didn't wait for her to answer. Instead he picked her up out of her chair and carried her straight back to bed. He laid her on her stomach and held her hands above her head. She was still wearing his tee but when he lifted her arms the shirt revealed her naked bottom. He kissed his way down to her bare skin. Missy moaned as his mouth touched her hips. He did miraculous things with those damn lips. His hands slowly lifted the shirt off of her. In one movement he flipped her over and devoured her lips. She didn't know when he had lost the jeans he was wearing, but she knew they were gone when she felt his erection at her opening. Brandon dug through the drawer in the nightstand by the bed and pulled out a condom. He let out a groan as he thrust himself into her. He was not near as gentle as he had been the night before. After their night of sex, he knew exactly what she could handle. He kissed her, starting at her chin, then down her neck to her cleavage. She whimpered with lust. She scratched her nails up the sides of his body until he had bumps all over. He took that as an invitation to plunge harder into her, and she matched his stride with ease. It didn't take long for her to come hard all around him. When she screamed his name with her release, it was like a detonation button had been pressed. He throbbed as he emptied himself, still pushing into her softly. His pulsing had her coming all over again.
Brandon laid on top of Missy still inside of her. "You're right; maybe I should go have some protein if I'm going to keep up with you," Missy whispered giggling.
Brandon got up and rolled off the condom. "You need energy but not for that sweetheart. You keep up with me just fine." He pulled her out of the bed and lead her to the shower. When the water was warm, he put his fingers through her hair wetting it and softly massaging in a shampoo that enveloped her with the smell of sandalwood. She relaxed and let him pamper her, washing her hair and then rubbing soap all over her body. He only stopped once to place a tender kiss on her mouth. When they were both clean, he wrapped her in a big fluffy towel and went to get her clothes. He came back dressed in jeans and a green polo shirt, his hair still slightly wet from the shower.
"Here put these on." He handed her a pair of jeans and a tight fitting V neck t-shirt. She held up the small scrap of lace he had tucked into the jeans.
"What are these?" she spat with disbelief.
He smiled mischievously, "I thought you could use some fresh clothes."
"And just where did these come from?" She inquired sardonically.
"Oh! One of my ex's left them here," he joked with a chuckle. Luckily his reflexes were quick, so he was able to catch the clothes she threw at his face. "I'm just kidding. I went and picked them out for you this morning. You can't wear that little number you had on last night for what I have planned."
He handed her back the clothes and she pulled up the lace thong glaring at him while he watched. "So what exactly do you have planned today?" She asked nervously to distract him from watching her dress.
"It's a surprise. Get dressed and meet me in the living room." He tore his eyes from her body, knowing that if h
e observed this little show much longer they would be staying in all day.
When Missy was ready, Brandon hurried her out of the door and to the car. "Why are we in such a rush?"
"I don't want to be late." Brandon slammed on the accelerator and headed toward Upper Manhattan.
"Late for what? Where are you taking me?" Missy demanded.
Brandon only smirked and turned up the radio.
Brandon pulled into the parking lot and followed the direction the parking attendants pointed him toward.
"Yankee Stadium... really?" Missy joked with sarcasm.
"That's right baby." He gave her an incredible smile and spanked her bottom. "Hurry up woman! We don't want to miss the opening pitch."
Missy picked up her pace a little, but not before sticking her tongue out at Brandon and laughing. She had never been to a professional baseball game before. The stadium was something she had only seen on television and read about in books. The delicious scent of butter topped popcorn and sweet cotton candy penetrated her. She craved the coolness of a frosty beer. When a gentleman walking the aisles yelling, "COLD BEER" came their way, she was elated. Missy couldn't believe how close to the field they were. She speculated if she reached far enough she could touch the players running to catch the baseballs being hit toward third base. She thought she'd better not give into her curiosity. Missy was not very knowledgeable about the game so Brandon filled her in on when she should shout and cheer. He explained the meaning of the words the announcer was shouting over the speaker system. By the fifth inning, she was jumping and screaming like a lifelong fan. Brandon was enamored with her excitement over an experience he had cherished since his youth. During the seventh inning, Missy headed up to the concessions to get them some nachos and hotdogs. When she returned, she was wearing a hat and a jersey with a carton of food in each hand. He knew at that moment Missy was the most perfect woman he had ever met.
After the game he drove her back to her apartment. Her time with Brandon was unsurpassed. The energy between them was electric and she knew she could not go back to the way she lived before. If she tried to deny herself this man, she would crave him every time they were together. He walked her to the door and embraced her tightly. His lips softly touched hers, but before heat could emerge, his lips were gone. "See you later." She stood there watching him leave. She had a feeling she would see him do this again and again. He was not the type of man to stay.
Chapter 9
The next few days were hectic at Westbrook Advertising. Missy spent most of the week thumbing through the Mercer design sketches the rest of the design crew presented her with. They really had some astounding ideas, if she hadn't experienced what she had on the Mercer yacht, many of the proposals would have been suitable. Her little research trip made it much more difficult for her to settle on any of the designs. They weren't nearly romantic or cutting edge enough. After three days of rejecting their ideas she turned to the computer and started doing a bit of magic on her own. Brandon had meetings all week to finish up the sports drink campaign, and he flew to Dallas to woo the CEO's of two mammoth corporations. Missy hadn't heard from him all week. Maybe he took what he wanted and now he was trying to avoid her at all costs. By Thursday with no contact she started to assume what she experienced the past weekend was nothing more than a figment of her imagination. Chloe questioned Missy's foul mood so Missy filled her in on the latest misfortune in her life without revealing too much information. Missy didn't plan on letting everyone know she had fallen for the smooth talking new boss. She had worked too diligently at her job; she didn't need to be the subject of office gossip. After the commotion at the club, Chloe had pretty much figured things out. Plus Chloe was Missy's best friend, she told her everything.
"He is totally pulling the three day rule on you," Chloe assured Missy.
Nicole had told Missy about the rule when Missy was younger, but surely men had evolved some since then. "I think that rule is a little old fashioned for a guy like Br.... you know who." Missy brought her voice down to a whisper. Even though the ladies were behind the closed door of Missy's office, she wasn't taking any chances of someone overhearing them.
"No way," laughed Chloe. "Men love to seem aloof. They think it gives them the upper hand to keep us hanging by a string." Chloe put her hand onto Missy's and continued, "And that particular show at the club completely tells you he likes to have the upper hand."
Missy contemplated what Chloe was saying. If she was right Missy would hear from Brandon today. Chloe threw Missy a wink through her long black lashes and walked out of the office. "You'll see I am always right about these things," Chloe declared before closing the door.
So much for always being right. Missy thought as she drove home from work that evening. Oh well she knew who he was and she fell into his bed anyway. She would have to just get over the emotions she felt when she was in his arms. Missy had never experienced the connection she felt with Brandon, especially when their clothes were off. They fit together perfectly and when he touched her, fireworks went off in the pit of her stomach. He had to feel them too.
Missy pulled her car into the parking garage and crossed the street to the front door of her building.
"Hi beautiful." Missy looked up and Brandon was sitting on the stoop waiting for her to get home. "You worked late tonight. You should really tell your boss you can't do that every night." He looked at her and gave her his most charming grin. The fireworks in her core instantaneously went off.
"He hasn't been around much. Someone has to pick up the slack," Missy remarked as she handed him the key to let them into her apartment. Brandon gave a warning glance at her snarky comment, then popped her on the bottom as she sashayed past him and put her purse on the table.
"Keep it up and I'll have to give you a spanking you won't forget." He looked deep into her eyes and licked his lips.
Missy heated all over, she quickly turned her face to conceal the pink tone it was taking on. Brandon caught her chin and touched his lips to hers before she could hide it. "You know what that does to me," he groaned as he nuzzled his face into her neck. "I've been hard all week just thinking about touching you."
Missy lifted her arms around his neck, falling into his embrace. Brandon tenderly ran his finger tips up her skirt toward her hips as Missy sucked and tickled his ear lobe. They stood there holding one another for a moment, enjoying the feeling that jolted between them when their bodies were touching.
Finally she whispered in a low, luscious tone, "You know what I want?"
"Mmmmm, I think I do," he murmured grinding his erection into her.
Missy swiftly spun out of his arms and giggled, "Dinner! Do you like spaghetti and meat balls?" She asked putting on her favorite blue ruffled apron.
"Sure. Sounds great," Brandon mumbled not hiding that he was actually pouting.
"So where did you learn to cook?" He asked watching her mixing ingredients while she hummed cheerfully.
"I used to cook with my sister, Nicole, when I was younger. My mom worked a lot so if we wanted to eat, we had to make it ourselves. We tried so many different recipes and ingredients we became really talented at throwing together a good meal."
"Are you and your sister still close?" He questioned as he took a spoon from her and started combining the ingredients she had put together in a bowl.
Missy stiffened. After all these years it was still really hard for her to talk about Nicole's accident. Missy grabbed a knife and focused on cutting vegetables. "My sister was in a fatal accident when I was fifteen." That's what everyone had called it when she was younger. A fatal accident. Her mother could never call it what it was. Nicole was dead. Just the thought brought tears to her eyes. Missy quickly grabbed an onion and started chopping.
"Wow, can you take over here this onion is killing my eyes." Missy gave Brandon the knife and went to her nightstand to get a tissue.
Brandon set the knife down on the bamboo cutting board and followed Missy. As she blotted the wet
drops from her eyes he pulled her into a hug. He could hear the small whimpers she couldn't stop from escaping. "You don't ever have to hide anything from me. You can trust me." He kissed her on the head and rubbed the tears away with his thumb. Comforting Missy came so natural to him. He wanted to say anything he could to stop her pain. He had never talked this way to a woman before; of course, he had never cared about a woman this way before. The realization of this scared the shit out of him.
Chapter 10
They made small talk during dinner. Brandon was trying to wrap his head around the way he was reacting to her. There had been ladies in his life, but Missy was different. She was strong and gentle at the same time. She was independent, yet he felt she needed him.
"Cade wants us to join him and his wife, Marcy for a drink tomorrow night," Brandon announced trying to rid his mind of the feelings overwhelming him. "Mark will be there too." He put on a sour face. "You remember him right?"
"Oh yes! He's quite the ladies' man," Missy replied, licking her lips. When Brandon looked up, she giggled. Her laugh relaxed him.
"Okay you just remember you asked for it."
"What?" Oh shit. She recalled the warning Brandon had given her earlier. He rose to his feet and started rubbing his hands together. Missy stood up and ran to the couch taunting and teasing him. He clumsily chased after her making her laugh even harder.
"The more you run the more my hand twitches," he said trying to give her his best angry glare. After she blushed and giggled more intensely, Brandon knew his look had failed.
