“Are you sure I can’t convince you to stay here?” he asks, clambering up and flopping back down beside me.
He tugs me into his arms, and I lay my head on his chest, throwing my leg over his.
This is where I belong.
“Nope.”
Well, obviously, he could. It wouldn’t take much because since we said, “I do,” I seem to want him even more, but we have a lot of people celebrating with us this evening.
Sighing hard, he runs his fingertips over my stomach. “Fine.”
“KENT!” Max shouts from outside our room. Toby is also there—at least, I assume the wolf-whistling is him. It’s unlikely to be anyone else. “Get it, boy!”
“Your friends are idiots.”
“Yeah,” he agrees, chuckling at their antics. “I did get it though.”
Rolling my eyes, I push myself up. He’s smiling like he’s got everything he could ever want or need, like there’s nothing out there that could top how life is right now. I feel it, too. My heart beats fast in my chest at the knowledge of having this man for the rest of my life. And it’s really nice, knowing we can both “get it” over and over again whenever we want.
“I love you, Kent.”
“I love you, too, babe.”
Acknowledgments
As always, there are a few people I couldn’t do this without.
To Zoë, Kirsty, and Kim, thank you for having my back when I’m fighting a deadline and not thinking that every word I write is complete nonsense. Natalie, thank you for beta reading! You ladies will never know how much I appreciate your support.
Sofie, I rarely have any ideas for my covers. I send you a very vague description of the book, and from that, you somehow know exactly what to do. I love your covers, and you’ve really outdone yourself with this one.
To my husband and our two boys, thank you for being there.
Jovana, you are amazing. Thank you for always fitting me in your schedule and finding things in my manuscripts that I would never see!
And thank you, readers, for reading Kent and Savannah’s story.
