Taming Hawke: Book #3 in the Blood Brothers MC Series Page 12

by J. A. Collard

“Hawke! When are you going to trust me enough to share your club with me?”

He cups my face. “It’s better this way. The less you know, the safer you are, and the better I can protect you.”

“Hawke, you’re scaring me,” I reply looking him dead in the eye.

Running his thumb over my bottom lip, he leans in and places a soft kiss on them before pulling back and holding my face up to his. “You never have to worry about your safety with me. I won’t let anything happen to you. You got me?”

I bite the inside of my cheek. “I got you.”

“Now go and get changed, we have a flight to catch. My best friend is getting married.”

I smile up at him, and head back into the bathroom to do just that.

  Hawke

I’m so pissed when Blaze barges into my bedroom, and I stare daggers at him when his eyes switch from mine to Luisa’s as she quickly covers up her chest with the fallen sheet. I’m trying to work out what the fuck is going on, I’m shit tired, and not liking one bit Blaze running his eyes over my woman. I know he means nothing by it, but she’s practically naked.

I grab my phone from the side table; four missed calls from Quill. It was gonna be hard to leave Lu, she was such a fucking sight, her hair in a sexy mess, lips swollen from all our kissing last night, cheeks flushed with sleep. I felt like saying “fuck church,” and fucking her again, needing to taste her on my tongue one more time. I cup her face and kiss her deeply, and just when I think of pulling away before Prez kicks my ass for being late, she decides she’s not letting me go.

We reached another level in our relationship last night. I now knew she was ready for me to take her in every way, but I also knew she needed more time. Time to adjust to having my cock inside her ass. As much as I wanted to fuck her there, I wanted to ease her into it. But the way she took pleasure from having the butt plug inside her, only reassured me that when I do take her from behind, she is going to love it.

I know I need to get the fuck out of here, get my ass to church before Quill kicks it, but she’s so fucking tempting. I can’t ever get enough of her. Duty calls, though.

Smiles and whistles surround the room when I enter church. Quill stops midsentence, taking in my disheveled appearance. His eyebrow raises when he notices me doing up my zipper, and I smile wolfishly in return.

“Hawke, brother, so glad you can join us.”

I run my hands through my hair, trying to look a little presentable, and take my seat as his VP.

All eyes are on me. “What the fuck? You ain’t never seen a brother late to church?”

Blaze laughs out loud. “From what I saw, I don’t blame you for being late, hermano,” he teases. I roll my eyes at him, the fucker is never gonna learn.

“Shut the fuck up!” Quill orders. “We’ve got shit going on and you guys wanna talk about pussy?”

I sit up in my chair and rub at my jaw.

“Now, if you men have finished, I’d like to continue. Today we leave for Tennessee.”

Whistles surround the room, and some brothers even howl.

Quill can’t help but grin, then straightens and continues. “Yes, I’m getting fucking married.”

Fists are slammed against the table, hoots and whistles yelled out once again.

“So fucking happy for you, Prez!” Trigger yells. “Jasmine is something special.”

There was a time Quill suspected Trigger wanted Jasmine, and didn’t want him anywhere near her. When shit went down with Jess and we had to ride out of town to take care of business, Trigger was put in charge of watching over Jasmine. They’d formed a friendship, and Quill didn’t like how close they had become. Jasmine swore her feelings for Trigger were innocent, and if anything, she saw him like a brother. Trigger would say the same, but I’d seen the way he looked at her. Any man would be fucking blind if he didn’t notice how he doted on her.

Trigger won’t admit he has feelings for her, but I know. She only has to be in the same room and his eyes are on her, but he also knows he will lose his life if he ever tried to pull anything. I would do it with my own hands if I even knew he thought about it. I’ve pulled him aside and asked him about his feelings for her, but he swears black and blue there’s nothing more than friendship between them. So for now I’ll let it slide.

Trigger looks over to me, and I give him a chin lift. He does the same in return, and we’re brought back when Quill slams the gavel on the table.

“Brothers, my flight leaves in the next couple of hours, so before my woman shoots me, I need to get this out. Prospects are staying behind to watch over the clubhouse. I’ve got Tracker’s brother, Tate, and his club, The Sinners, out here. After what happened at Ink Me, I don’t want to take any chances.”

“Any leads yet, Prez?” Gunner questions.

Quill sits back in his chair, running a hand angrily through his hair. “Tracker got surveillance from the shop the other night, the camera didn’t show who they were. We got an image of the brick being thrown inside, but no fucking eyes on the motherfuckers who threw it in.”

“What about the cameras out front, they get pictures of the car?”

  “Tracker, you wanna take over?”

Tracker takes a sip of his coffee. “Sure, Prez. The cameras got eyes on a black SUV, number plates are not clear, but I’ve got a friend working on clearing that up. Once we have a plate, we can run them through the database. But it will take a couple of days.”

Quill takes over at this point. “I want no word to the women about what’s going on. You hear me? Until I know who this fucker is, there’s no need to worry them.” Quill looks around the room. We all agree, but something inside me doesn’t like the situation one bit.

Whoever was fucking with us obviously wanted to make sure we knew we were being watched, and it worried the hell out of me knowing we’ll be out of town. The only good thing was that most of us would be in Tennessee, our women too.

“Now, before I get my balls chopped off by my woman, church is out.” He slams the gavel down on the table. Everyone gets up and out of their seats, and walks out.

I stay behind, as does Blaze. Once they all leave the room, I ask him, “How’s Tess doing?”

“She’s good, man, I’ve got someone watching when she’s working, just to make sure she’s safe. I’m glad we’ve got this wedding this weekend, gives her something to think about other than the shop.”

Blaze and I notice Quill sitting there, staring out into space. “Yo! Prez, you good? Where you at?”

He sighs and rubs his hand across his chest. “I’m getting fucking married.”

“What, you just realize that?” I smirk and tap Quill on the shoulder. “Having second thoughts?”

“Are you fucking nuts? Never…. I’m just worried I can’t be the man, and father of our baby, that she deserves. She’s fucking incredible, I just don’t want to fuck things up. I’m so lucky she chose me. What if I make a terrible dad and husband?” Quill says in all honesty, doubt crossing his face.

I squeeze Quill’s shoulder. “Are you fucking kidding me? You’re the best man I know. She’s fucking lucky to have you as a husband and father to your child. Don’t doubt yourself, man. You make her happy, and she said yes. We both know Jasmine only does what she wants to. She loves you, man. Now get the fuck out of here and go get her. Our plane leaves in a couple of hours.”

Quill mouth lifts into a smile. “Thanks, brother. You’re right.”

He gets up out of his chair, looking at both Blaze and me. “I’m getting fucking married.” We both smile and watch him leave the room.

Blaze and I get out of our seats, and walk out of church.

“See you in Tennessee, brother,” Blaze says tapping me on my back. I’m flying out with Luisa on the same flight as Quill and Jasmine, and the others are riding down. Trigger and Gunner are driving down with our bikes on the back, so we have them with us in Tennessee if we want to ride. I have to say I’m fucking shit-scared of flying. O
nly did it once, and it was the scariest fucking thing ever. I just hope it’s an easy flight. I can’t show Luisa I’m scared, can’t be a pussy in front of her.

Heading back to my room, I open the door and see Luisa isn’t in the room. I hear the shower shut off, and while I’m waiting for her to dry off and change, I start to think about what’s going down with our club. Just when everything settles down, more shit happens. If only we knew who the warning was coming from. The not knowing is killing me.

I’m startled out of my deep thoughts when a hand lands on my shoulder. I turn, Luisa is standing there in just a towel. “Hawke, what’s going on?”

“Fuck, Lu. I almost forgot you were here,” I say, then wish I could take those words back when I see hurt in her eyes. I was so caught up trying to work things out, I’d zoned out, everything around me disappearing as I ran possibilities and scenarios through my head. I grab her in my arms, and she rests her head on my chest. Whenever she’s in my arms, everything feels so right. “Sorry, babe, I didn’t mean that,” I explain, and kiss the top of her head. She looks up at me, and I swear I could get lost in those eyes.

“Tell me, Hawke, what’s going on? Jasmine called and said Quill left the house early to come to the club.”

Fuck, she knows something’s up. I hate lying to her, but I have to protect her.

She cups my cheek and runs her thumb across my jaw. “Are you in danger?”

Fuck, I love this woman. I turn my face in her palm and place a kiss there. I smile and bring her in closer, cupping her ass.

“Nothing for you to worry about, sweetheart, just club business,” I state, trying to put her mind at ease.

“Hawke! When are you going to trust me enough to share your club with me?”

I cup her beautiful face. “It’s better this way. The less you know, the safer you are, and the better I can protect you.”

  “Hawke, you’re scaring me.”

I run my thumb over her well-kissed bottom lip, leaning down for another soft taste. I pull back and hold her gaze with mine. “You never have to worry about your safety with me. I won’t let anything happen to you. You got me?”

She smiles up at me. “I got you.” Could she be any more perfect? “Now, go and get changed, we have a flight to catch. My best friend is getting married,” I add trying to lighten the mood.

  Luisa

I sink into the seat beside Hawke, and giggle when I see him rub his hands down his jeans. He’s so cute when he’s nervous. I take hold of his hand, and he turns away from the window to look at me. I’d let him sit next to the window of the plane hoping it would help make the flight a little easier for him, but I’m not so sure it’s working. He’s looking out that window like he wants to jump out of it.

“You okay, babe?” I gently rub my thumb over his, caressing it.

He looks back out the window, and then over to me again, swallowing hard. Of course the pilot chooses that very moment to start the plane’s engines. The loud rumbling as they warm up has Hawke tightening his grip on my hand. “I need a drink.”

“Sure, I’ll get someone for you,” I say giving his hand a squeeze. We’re seated in business class thanks to Quill’s generosity, so it shouldn’t be too difficult to have one in his hand before takeoff. Quill had wanted to treat Jasmine, making sure she was seated in comfy seats for the trip to Tennessee, to make it a pleasant one. The guy’s so cute, really taking care of her like that. Since Jasmine has been pregnant, Quill’s doing everything in his power to make sure she takes it easy. When it comes to Jasmine, money has no meaning to Quill. If it’s going to benefit Jasmine in any way, he’s onto it.

I wave to a stewardess and she walks over to me, smiling. She looks immaculate in her red-and-white uniform, a hat on top of her stunning brunette hair, tied up in a bun with not one piece out of place. Now if that was me, there’s no way I could make my locks stay in a bun like that.

  “Can I help you?”

God, her voice even sounds like silk. I don’t miss the way her eyes travel to Hawke as she asks that question. Lucky for her, Hawke doesn’t notice. His eyes are still focused out the window. Her name badge reads Cynthia.

Well, Cynthia, you’re screwing with the wrong girl.

“Yes, please,” I reply, a forced smile on my face. “Can I have a whisky, and an orange juice as well, please?”

“Certainly, and for you sir?” I feel like pulling on that perfect hair of hers with the way she’s undressing Hawke with her eyes.

Hawke looks over to the stewardess, confused.

“Yeah, um, the whisky is for my boyfriend,” I clarify, emphasizing the word so she knows he’s off-limits. Hawke frowns at me, unaware of what the hell’s going on, and I grimace at Cynthia.

“Oh, sorry,” she says sweetly, “I’ll just get that for you.”

“Thank you,” I reply, not holding back the sarcasm in my voice.

“Miss!” Hawke’s sudden shout forces the stewardess to turn around, and her smile widens as she walks back to where we’re seated.

  “Yes.”

  “Make that a double, please.”

“Not a problem,” she replies with a wink.

  I’m going to kill her.

I watch her as she leaves and walks back to the plane’s kitchen area. She’s gorgeous, with long legs, and curves in all the right places.

Stop it, Lu. Hawke chose you.

I turn back to Hawke, to see if he’s also watching her. Nope, his eyes are still on that darn window.

The engines get louder and Hawke sits back in his chair. He squeezes his eyes shut.

“Just, breathe, baby,” I coo in his ear, trying to calm him down. He still has my hand in his, and I tilt his face to mine with my other one.

“Open your eyes, Hawke.” He does and I look deep into his baby blues. “Nothing is going to happen. You are safe.” I lean in and kiss him, hoping it’s a good enough diversion.

  “Here you are.”

I turn and see Cynthia standing beside me, Hawke’s double shot of whisky and my juice in her hands.

I take them both and hold Hawke’s out to him. “Here you go, drink this.”

Hawke looks down at the glass of whisky in my hand, and in one go grasps it and downs the whole thing.

I sip on my juice and watch as he rubs his chest. “That burns,” he says, his jaw tight.

  “Feel better?”

“Yeah, thanks, baby,” Hawke replies and smashes his lips to mine. I taste the alcohol on his tongue and suck on his bottom lip, loving his sudden intake of breath when I do.

  “You want another?”

Hawke shakes his head. “I’m good.”

I look ahead at the rows of chairs and notice Jasmine and Quill sitting four rows in front of us. Their heads are leaning against one another, and his arm is draped across her shoulders. “Aren’t they just the cutest couple,” I say to Hawke, and he grins.

  “Not as cute as you.”

“Whatever,” I state, rolling my eyes.

His eyes turn hungry. He’s thinking about something. “What’s going on in that head of yours?”

“Do you really want to know?”

  Do I?

  “Um, yeah, I really do.”

His eyes go dark, and he huskily whispers, “I have something with me in my bag.” He looks down at his feet where his small duffel bag is stowed.

My eyes widen. Could it be?

  “You didn’t, did you?”

Hawke chuckles and I know I’m right. I begin to throb between my thighs when I think about him inserting it into my butt. I’ll admit it turns me on. I never thought I could receive such intense pleasure from it, but I did last night, and I want it again.

My tongue sneaks out to wet my dry lips, and Hawke’s eyes focus on it.

“Excuse me, miss.” Hawke grabs the attention of Cynthia as she’s walking past. She eagerly stops to help him.

“Yes, sir, how can I help you?” I look at Hawke, wondering what he wants.

“How long till we take off?” he asks.

She looks at her watch. “About ten minutes. Can I get you another something?” she asks, and Hawke smiles up at her.

  “No thanks, darlin’, we’re good.”

As soon as she leaves I nudge his shoulder. “You were flirting with her.”

Hawke narrows his eyes at me. “Me? Flirting with her? Why on earth would I do that when I have all I want right here?”

“Well, she wants you, that’s for sure,” I say in a huff, and Hawke pulls on my chin, forcing me to look at him.

“Baby, I don’t give a fuck what she wants. I want you, and you are all I will ever need. Now, I’m going to go to the bathroom. I want you to meet me there in two minutes.”

“What? Why?” I’m confused as hell.

“Because, baby, I have something for you to wear.”

It hits me exactly what he has for me to wear. “You can’t be serious?” Shocked at what he’s got planned, I laugh nervously.

Hawke leans forward and grabs something out of his bag, shoving it awkwardly into a pocket in his jeans.

“Two minutes,” he repeats, lifting two fingers up to me to clarify. I move back in my seat as he steps past me into the aisle. I look around to see if anyone has eyes on us but no one is nearby, not even the perfect Cynthia.

Butterflies erupt in my stomach, and my panties dampen with thoughts of what’s about to happen. I’m so turned on.

I glance down at my watch, counting the seconds. Once I reach two minutes I slowly get out of my seat, and place my juice on the side table. Gotta love being in business class, so much more room. Heat hit my cheeks, knowing what Hawke and I will be doing in that bathroom.

Walking down the aisle, I glance around to see if anyone notices me but everyone is engrossed in conversation, or playing around on their laptops.

I reach the bathrooms and knock on the one that’s showing it’s occupied. The door is flung open and I’m dragged inside and shoved up against a small vanity. I hear the sound of the door shutting and locking, closing us in. Before I can say anything, Hawke’s lips are on mine and he’s unzipping my jeans.
