“What the fuck for? Ain’t shit but ass and titties up in here.”
Alex stepped over to them with Summer in tow.
“Because I like to see the niggas that’s throwing the money. It helps me see who got cash. Now mind your business Love in the Club.”
Love shook his head. “That’s your tactic, huh?”
“Hell yeah it is,” Alex said as if Love was dumb for asking something like that.
How the fuck they deal with this nigga?
“Your friend with you?” Summer asked
“Why you wanna know?” Love smiled.
“Don’t fuck with me Love. Is that nigga here?”
“He might be,” Love said, further picking with her.
Rain popped the side of his forehead and he stopped.
“Yeah he over there, damn. Don’t be trying to sneak up on my nigga.”
“I ain’t sneaking because he and I aren’t together.” Summer pointed between Love and Rain. “Now you two are together. We ain’t on that level yet.” Summer winked
Love looked down at Rain who was looking around the club. “Y’all sitting with us?”
“Hell to the mothafucking nah. We can’t meet no new niggas sitting with our old ones,” Alex said, slapping fives with Summer.
Love ignored him before kissing Rain’s lips and telling her to have fun.
Rain watched Love leave before walking back over to Summer and Alex. They’d walked to the bar and were ordering drinks. Once they had everything they needed they went to find a table. It was crowded as hell so that took a minute. If it wasn’t for Summer’s big ass poking out of the dress she was wearing they probably would have been standing all night. The man whose table they were now sitting at, was busy trying his luck with Summer while Rain and Alex moved their drinks and other things to the table. The man had offered them the table when he saw them walking past. Rain was happy for that.
“What you tell him?” Alex asked Summer when she finally sat down.
“He was just telling me how pretty I am and how he want to get to know me and shit. I told his ass to give me his number and I’d call him.”
“You gon’ call for real?” Rain scrunched her nose up. The man wasn’t that ugly, but he sure as hell wasn’t that fine either.
“Now you know me better than that. I just told him that so he wouldn’t take his table back.”
They all laughed and sipped on their drinks.
“Jacorey gon’ beat that ass,” Rain said.
“No he ain’t either. He ain’t my man.”
Alex put his cup down on the table. “Shit, he ain’t Love in the Club either because that nigga was in Rain’s face before we could get two feet into the club. I mean damn, could his ass let her sit down first or something?” Alex rolled his eyes as he and Summer starting laughing.
“I know, right? Rain got his black ass open.”
“Don’t she though?” Alex agreed with Summer.
“I can’t stand no hater bitches.” Rain shook her head and took another sip of her drink. She’d just brought back it down from her mouth when she spotted Stacey. He had just come in the club. She tried to hurry and turn her head before he could see her. She must have moved too slow because when she glanced back in his direction he was on his way to their table. Rain tried to act like she didn’t see him and got up to go the bathroom.
“I’ll be back y’all. I’m finna go to the bathroom for a minute to hide from Stacey’s ass.” Rain walked from her table a little faster than normal but not fast enough to make herself look crazy. She tried to stay in the bathroom as long as she could without looking suspicious before leaving back out. She did not need Love seeing Stacey all in her face. She prayed that he would be gone when she got back out there, but clearly God wasn’t listening. He was at the table near the restroom door talking to some nigga. She thought she had snuck past him until she felt his hand on her lower back.
“What’s up Rain? What you doing up in here?”
Rain smiled smugly. “Just hanging out.”
“Why you ain’t tell me you was coming?”
Here he go.
“It was a last minute thing.”
“It’s cool. You should come chill with me tonight.” Stacey stepped closer to her and leaned in so he could smell her neck.
Rain jumped back, but his arms circled her waist so fast she couldn’t move. This was bad. Very bad. She was almost certain Love was somewhere watching her. She tried to wiggle out of his grasp without drawing too much attention but this nigga wasn’t budging.
“Stacey, chill.”
“I just want a hug Rain. You do a nigga so bad.”
“Stacey, please get off of me.” Rain looked to the side to see if she could see Summer and Alex but she couldn’t. Being that she wasn’t putting up much of a fight even if they did see her they probably would assume it was nothing. She was trying her hardest to not make a scene. When he finally let her go she was relieved.
“I’m sorry baby. I just wanted a hug.” He winked and walked away.
Rain fixed her clothes and went back to her table only to have to get up again. Summer had just stood to her feet.
“Come on, Jacorey want me to come over there so he can see me.”
Rain sucked her teeth but got up anyway. When they got over there it was two strippers dancing. Rain immediately got tight because one was practically in Love’s lap. This probably why his ass didn’t see that nigga all over me. She narrowed her eyes and stared at him. He gave a guilty smile and motioned for her to come to him. She wanted to be mad about the girl but changed her mind. Instead she walked to him and sat in his lap.
“What you looking all mad and shit for?”
“You know why.” Rain crossed her arms over her chest.
“You remember the last time we were in a strip club together?”
Rain smiled as she thought about her first encounter with Love at Magic City. She nodded her head.
“You was scared as hell of them strippers.” Love laughed.
“I wasn’t scared.”
“Yeah, yeah, yeah. You remember how much fun we had?”
Rain nodded her head, welcoming the broad smile reaching across her face.
“That’s the first time you ever told me you loved me.” Love ran his hands through her hair.
“I do love you.”
“I know you do now. Your ass didn’t know me from Adam back then.”
“That’s crazy, right?” Rain said as she placed kisses all over the side of Love’s neck.
She didn’t know if it was the drinks she’d just consumed or the fact that her hair was covering her face that was the reason she was being so bold. She could hear the low grunts Love was releasing in her ear. She was busy licking and sucking on his neck while he carried on conversations with Jacorey, Summer, and Alex. Rain kissed his neck once more before sliding from his lap and sitting in the seat between Summer and Alex. She grabbed the Remy from the table in front of her and poured herself another drink. She and Alex were busy looking at the stripper on stage when she heard Love call her name. When she turned around her breath got caught in her chest.
“Rain this my nigga, Stacey. Stacey this my girlfriend, Rain,” Love introduced them.
Rain looked around the club briefly because she didn’t know where in the hell Stacey had come from, and she most definitely didn’t know that he and Love were friends.
Stacey looked her up and down with a wide grin. “Oh my nigga, I already know her.”
“Word?” Love asked. “How?”
“Because she’s my girlfriend too.”
