“Oh, Mrs. Mitchell.” I hug her even tighter. “Thank you for being like a mom to me. I think of you as my surrogate mother, you know?”
“That warms my heart to hear because I’ve always thought of you as a daughter. Now that you’re getting married, you can get to work on giving me some grand babies.” I can’t help but laugh out loud at this.
“That is a long time away Mrs. Mitchell. We have to both finish school and enjoy our time with just us first,” I laugh.
“Oh, but we are going to have so much fun practicing,” Landon butts in. Everyone laughs. I’m going to kill him. I know my face is beet red even though I know that statement to be true.
We spend the rest of the half time being congratulated and Landon returning to the locker room with his team for a few minutes to huddle for the continuation of the game. I keep glancing at my rock for the remainder of the game with a stupid grin plastered to my face. I’m looking forward to this new chapter, indeed.
We win by a land sliding twenty points. After the game, Landon tells our family and friends that we will celebrate our engagement with them tomorrow. Tonight he wanted to be alone with his fiancée. They all look at us knowingly. Landon is ready to begin that practice session tonight. We bid everyone a good night as this night marks the start of our new beginning.

First, I would like to thank my readers. This novel exists because of you. Your encouraging words inspire me. Thank you for all the social media shares / pimping. Next I want to thank Golden Czermak, Louisa of LM Creations, and Shawn Dawson for a kick ass cover and for sharing their amazing talent. That football pic is scorching hot. Shawn Dawson is not only my muse for this novel; he has an impeccable ear for music. My musical taste gels with his, so I was able to Spotify stalk and use many of his songs you will find here in this novel (see the playlist). He also recommended some great songs to inspire my next work, so stay tuned. I want to thank Emma Mack for stepping in at the last minute and agreeing to be my editor. Not to mention the 4am Facetime chats. Much love goes to my beat readers- Christina “Chrissy” Weston, Chantel Pentz McKinley (and for the teasers), and Heather McNeal. We have a long journey ahead with my future novels to come. Heather Lane, I love your tear jerking book trailer. I played it over and over. I look forward to the next one. I want to thank Stacey Blake (formatter), Debra Presley (Book Enthusiast Promotions), Danese Rexroad, and Zenia Villarreal Guerrero for their critical eyes, encouragement, support, and incredible talent. You all played a vital role in making The Object of His Desire the best it can be. I also want to thank my kick ass street team, Watson’s Wicked Vixen (Renee Mckinney, Jacquie Denison, Alison Phillips, Melissa Crump, and Kathleen Nichols). I appreciate all the pimping, love, and support. A big thanks goes to all the blogs who participated in reviewing, my cover reveal, blog tour, and release day launch. Last, but certainly not least, I want to thank the woman who has been by my side since August 2014 and has made my writing journey easier—my personal assistant, Renee Mckinney.
S.R. Watson is a Texas native who resides in Houston with her husband and four children. She is an operating room nurse who has evolved into an author of Erotica and New Adult. She grew up reading the Sweet Valley Series (Twins, High, & University) among others. Back then she would use notebook paper to create stories and cut pictures out of her mother’s JC Penney catalogs for the characters she wanted to portray. She ventured away from reading and writing stories when she left home for college to pursue her BSN and then MBA, but picked up reading again in 2012. Her love for the stories written by her favorite indie authors made her decide to pursue own dreams of writing.
When S.R. Watson is not writing, she likes to read, listen to various genres of music, make handmade natural soap, and travel. She is down to earth, loves a nice glass of wine, and is addicted to watching the television series Scandal.
