“I did! Hi, Mom!” Mikey kissed her on the cheek before dutifully fastening his seat belt.

“All right. Let's go home,” Wyatt said, starting the engine. He eased the silver Lexus out of the parking lot and turned out into the street. Rachel knew that his brothers had laughed and teased him when he traded in his fiery Ferrari for a stately sedan, but Wyatt was unfazed. He had a young family, he'd told them matter-of-factly. Race cars were fun, but they couldn't accommodate his precious, growing brood.

Growing. Ah yes, she was growing indeed.

Rachel smiled and laid a hand over her ballooning belly. She still had a few months to go, but already she felt like a beached whale on most days. Her wedding ring glinted on her finger as she patted her stomach fondly.

It was a girl. The scans showed that she was expecting a little princess.

Wyatt and Mikey had been ecstatic. They were already planning to teach her how to fight and drive race cars.

Rachel looked out the window and listened to Mikey chatter happily about his day. Ursa Springs was a really cool, beautiful town. She was glad she had made the decision, the right decision. She had said yes to Wyatt.

The move to Ursa Springs had been smooth, and Mikey had made lots of new friends in his new school. There were human and shifter kids in his school, and no one was ostracized. Mikey's new best friend, Gavin, was a cheerful, chubby werebear cub.

She loved her new life and her new job. The Silver Group needed an office manager, and Rachel fitted the bill perfectly. She was great at what she did. She had more than ten years' experience as an office manager so she was more than qualified for the job. She dressed professionally for work, but she hardly wore any makeup.

Rachel caught her own reflection in the side mirror and beamed. She could see the many scars on her face clearly, but they didn't bother her. She had earned these scars. She wore these scars for her loved ones, one for her sister, and the rest for her son and mate.

She was simply who she was. She was Rachel Kyle-Lawson, wife and mate of Wyatt Lawson and mother of Mikey Kyle-Lawson.

“Have you decided on a name?” Mikey asked suddenly.

  “What?”

“My sister,” Mikey said. “What are you going to call her?”

Wyatt turned to wink at Rachel. “Why don't you name her?” he suggested to Mikey. “Just make sure you give her a real cool name. Because your sister is going to be just as cool and beautiful as your mom.”

“Really?” Mikey's eyes widened. “I can name her?”

  Wyatt nodded. “Yep.”

“Oh boy!” Mikey rubbed his hands. “I got lots of cool names!”

  “Like what?” Rachel asked cautiously.

  “Like...Wolverine!”

“I don't think your sister is going to like being called a wolf, when she's actually a bear,” Rachel laughed.

“Good point.” Mikey tapped his chin. “I know! What about Optimus Prime? Optimus Prime Kyle-Lawson sounds waaayy cool!”

  “No.”

“No? Hmm...Darth Vader? Or Darth Maul is a cool name too.”

  “No!” Rachel gasped. “Just...no.”

“Oh, I got one,” Wyatt grinned. “Bumblebee Yoda Kyle-Lawson! Now that is waaayy cool.”

Rachel rolled her eyes as father and son high-fived and chuckled. But she couldn't help laughing along with them. She wondered if her daughter would share the same wacky sense of humor as Wyatt and Mikey. She certainly hoped so. It was a good thing to have.

As the automatic gates opened and Wyatt drove up to the mansion, Rachel looked up at the house and smiled.

It was a big house, but it was filled with so much love and laughter. This was indeed a beautiful home, a perfect home for a growing family.

Rachel gazed lovingly at her mate and son as they got out of the car, still laughing and joking.

They were a fun, strong, happy family.

  And they were waaayy cool.
