Ruined: A Dark Romance Page 43

by B. B. Hamel

“Gage,” I moaned, desire flooding through me. “You’re going to kiss me.”

“Kiss you?” He laughed. “I’m going to eat your fucking pussy. I’m going to lick your little cunt until you come in my mouth. Say it.”

“You’re going to lick my pussy.”

With that, he ripped my panties off then pressed his mouth between my legs.

He started slow, nibbling at my clit, tongue rolling down my length and back up, tasting every inch of me. Desire rolled through me as I clutched at the sheets, holding on tight. He worked me like that before slowly pressing his fingers back inside of me.

“Shit,” I said, arching my back. “Gage.”

He continued to fuck my pussy with his fingers, sliding them in and out as he licked my clit. I was on fire, a hot ball of need and want. I couldn’t believe I was letting this man fuck my pussy and lick me, but I also knew that it wasn’t about that.

I was his to do with whatever he wanted.

That thought sent thrills through me. Gage could have me whenever he wanted me, and even if I was angry with him or hated him, I’d still give in because it felt so damn good. I couldn’t help myself, couldn’t stop myself. I was stupid and crazy but I was stupid and crazy for this man with the incredible fingers and tongue.

I reached down, incredible with desire. I was dripping wet as he lapped me, working me, fingers fucking me, tongue licking me, lips sucking me. I held onto his hair as I worked my hips, pushing myself against him. He pushed back, moving faster, pushing farther inside of me, making me take him. I moaned, tipping my head back, not holding myself back anymore.

I wasn’t thinking about anything but the pure pleasure rolling through me. I couldn’t concentrate on anything but Gage, his fingers inside of me, his mouth against my clit. He had me exactly like he said he would as I rolled my hips, getting closer, feeling it, needing it.

“I’m going to come,” I moaned. “Oh shit, Gage. Fuck me. Please fuck me. Make me come.”

“No,” he said, fingers sliding in and out.

  “Gage,” I moaned.

He went back to licking me, sucking me, fucking me. I wanted his cock inside of me but his tongue felt so damn good against my clit I could hardly contain myself.

The orgasm washed over me. My whole body tensed and shuddered as I came in his mouth and he didn’t relent for a second. He kept sucking me, fucking me, pushing me over the edge deeper into pleasure.

Finally, slowly, he finished me. My orgasm passed and I laid there, panting, staring up at the ceiling.

He stood up, licking his fingers clean. “Don’t forget what I said. You’re mine, and I won’t let them touch what’s mine.”

He turned and walked toward the door.

“Don’t come back,” I said, surprising myself.

  He paused.

  “Don’t come back,” I repeated. “Just don’t.”

He didn’t say another word. His body was tense, but he didn’t look back. He simply left, shutting the door behind him.

I sat up, blinking. He was gone.

What just happened? One second I hated him, could barely stand the sight of him, and the next he had my panties off and he was licking my pussy. It was like he cast some kind of crazy spell over me that made me throw my underwear aside and let him do whatever he wanted.

But I got myself back. After the orgasm passed, all of those bad feelings came back, the fear and the betrayal. I couldn’t see him, I just couldn’t. I couldn’t let myself do that.

I collapsed back onto the bed, shaking my head. What an insane day. I was exhausted from barely sleeping the night before and now this happens. I didn’t know what he meant by what he said, but for some reason I did feel a little more secure. Even though I never wanted to see him again, I still believed when he said that he would try and protect me. I didn’t want that from him, but I couldn’t help but feel a little bit relieved.

Still, I eventually got up, walked to the door, and closed all the locks.

The mafia was after me. I wasn’t taking any stupid chances.

  Gage

  Three weeks later

I brought my bat down on the fucking asshole’s knee and he screamed.

  “Fuck! Okay, please!”

“Okay?” I laughed. “Okay? You had your fucking chance, you stupid piece of shit.” I hit him again and he screamed.

  Boris chuckled beside me.

“I’ll get the money,” he said, practically crying. “I’ll get it soon. I swear.”

“Do you believe him?” I asked Boris.

  “Nope. I sure don’t.”

“Damn.” I looked back at the guy. He was in his fifties, balding and overweight with a trucker hat and baggy jeans. He looked like every other racist piece of shit redneck I knew. “If he believed you, then I would have let you go.”

  “Please,” he begged.

“The problem is, you owe twenty thousand dollars. Twenty thousand! Not many people run up that kind of tab.”

“I couldn’t help myself,” he sobbed.

“I know you couldn’t. I know. I get it. But unfortunately, you still made the mistake of making bets that you couldn’t pay back, and so here we are.”

“Under my mattress,” he said. “There’s five grand.”

I nodded at Boris. The guy’s trailer was a tiny piece of shit with garbage littered all over, but the mattress was easy enough to find. Boris came back a minute later holding a stack of cash.

“Looks more like four,” he said.

“Four is a good start,” I said to the guy.

  “Please. I can get more.”

I smashed my bat down on his leg again, making him cry out in pain. “If that were true, you would have done it already.”

“What should we do with him?” Boris asked me.

“Loot the place. Take everything worth anything. Then we’ll dump this asshole two counties over and sell this piece of shit trailer.” I looked back at him. “And if I ever see you again, I will kill you. Do you get it?”

“Yes,” he said, nodding. “I get it.”

I smashed my bat into his other knee then walked away, shaking my head.

Boris followed me, counting the bills. “I think it’s actually six,” he said.

I laughed. “Good. That trailer will bring in like eight. A little more than half is better than nothing.”

“We really letting this piece of shit live?”

I nodded. “You heard the order. No more killing unless we have to. We’re being watched now.”

Boris sighed. “Yeah. I know. I just really wanted to kill this guy,”

  “Some other time, maybe.”

Things had changed, and changed fast. Ever since Evgeni got picked up, the mafia had been walking on eggshells.

  All because of my ex-girlfriend.

Everyone knew. There was no use in hiding it. The big boss didn’t seem happy, but I hadn’t been killed yet and nothing bad had gone down. Boris was sour for a couple days after I broke his nose, right up until I bought him a hooker and a nice bottle of whisky.

Boris was easy to please, but I knew Vadik wouldn’t be. Just because I hadn’t heard anything else about Sadie didn’t mean I was in the clear. It just meant that Vadik was biding his time, waiting for the right opportunity. I didn’t know what that would be, but I had my ear to the ground.

“Come on,” I said to Boris. “Go grab that asshole. Let’s finish this job.”

  “Alright.”

He went back into the trailer. I heard some more yelling as I started the car engine, waiting for Boris. A few minutes later, Boris came back out with the guy in tow, his head hanging low, his hands tied behind his back. Boris shoved the guy into the back then climbed in next to me.

We started driving. It was about an hour to the next county, and I wanted to do it as fast as possible. I didn’t feel like being in a car with fat ass Boris if I didn’t have to be.

  I didn’t lie when I told Sadie that I w
ouldn’t let the mafia hurt her. But she was making my job very fucking difficult. In the last three weeks, she went from pushing for some minor convictions to going after Evgeni very, very hard. The cops still weren’t taking our bribes and I heard whispers that shit was going down for serious.

I didn’t want that shit to be directed at her. So far, nobody was talking about going after Sadie, but I knew it was only a matter of time. I had to be ready to stop whatever was coming, even if it was going to cost me everything.

I still didn’t understand why I was doing what I was doing. I didn’t know why, after three weeks of not speaking to each other, I still felt such strong and intense feelings of loyalty toward her. The thought of walking away from her completely never even crossed my mind. I didn’t owe her shit, and she was the one that decided she didn’t want to see me. I never really lied to her, I just never told her the truth.

I wasn’t going to beg like some pussy ass bitch, though. I wasn’t that kind of man. If Sadie wanted to see me, she could come see me. She had my number and she knew where I hung out all the time, though she was being smart and staying far away from Ralph’s. Nobody in the mob was dumb enough to actually go after her without direct orders, but still, men got drunk and made mistakes all the time. It was better for everyone if she avoided those mistakes.

An hour later, we were far enough away. I pulled the car over on some lonely, empty county highway. The only things for miles were corn and cows.

“This is your stop,” I said to the guy. Boris shoved him from the car. I pushed him over into the field and kicked him in the ribs.

“If you come back to Ashertown, I will kill you. Get it?”

“I get it,” he said. “Thank you.”

“Don’t thank me. You got lucky. If I were you, I’d never make another bet again. It’s going to get you killed sooner rather than later.”

I turned and got back into the car. I did a U-turn and headed back toward town.

“We should have killed him,” Boris said. “Nobody would have known.”

“We’d know,” I said. “And I’m not about that shit.”

He shrugged and we lapsed into silence again.

I wasn’t about murdering someone for no fucking reason. I wasn’t about being a thug and a liar and a criminal anymore, although maybe I was all of those things.

I didn’t know what I was about. Maybe I was just about protecting Sadie, even if she wasn’t interested in me anymore.

Her body said otherwise, though. She could keep her distance, but I knew that if she saw me again, she wouldn’t be able to hold back.

The car ride back went smoothly. We parked outside of Ralph’s and went inside. I sat at the bar and Boris disappeared to the bathroom. I ordered a whisky and sipped it when it arrived, happy to have a second to myself.

  But that didn’t last long.

  “How’d the job go?”

Alex sat down next to me.

“It went fine,” I said. “The guy is alive and well, and we got six grand plus his trailer.”

“Not bad. That should cover a lot of his debt.”

  “Better than nothing.”

Alex ordered a whisky. We toasted and drank.

“I need to talk to you about something.”

I grunted. “I was wondering when this would come back up.”

“You had to know we’d talk to you about it. You dated the girl, for fuck’s sake.”

  “I did.”

“She’s making a lot of noise, Gage. A lot of fucking noise. It’s very bad for us.”

  “I don’t control her.”

“No. You don’t. But you know her.”

  “I know her.”

  “Vadik has orders for you.”

“What does he want me to do?”

Alex looked a little uncomfortable, and I knew I wasn’t going to like what he had to say. I knew this was coming, sooner or later, but I was hoping it would be later. I was hoping that Sadie would drop the charges, or at least step back, or maybe even get a different ADA to take over for her. Instead, she was charging ahead and pissing off every single member of the mob.

“Vadik wants you to sent her a message,” Alex said slowly.

  “What’s that fucking mean?”

“You know what it means, Gage.”

I grunted. I knew what it meant.

Vadik wanted me to hurt her. He wanted me to break her knees, or rape her, or do something so horrible that it would scare her the fuck away forever.

Normally, I’d do it, no questions asked. I did what the mob wanted me to do, because that was who I was. I was loyal and a hard worker.

This was fucking different. Alex knew it and I knew it, and I was betting that Vadik knew it. This had to be some kind of test of my loyalty, and things were getting very, very dangerous.

I was on Vadik’s radar, and not in a good way. I wasn’t the up and coming killer anymore, but rather the guy that used to date that bitch ADA. My loyalty was in question by the mere fact of me being involved with Sadie at all.

They were smart to fucking question it. Fuck, I was questioning it. Alex watched me expectantly as I took a drink, trying to figure out how I was going to answer.

“If those are my orders,” I said, shrugging.

“So you know what you have to do?”

“You don’t have to fucking spell it out for me, Alex. I’ve been doing this a long time.”

“I know. But you ever done this to someone you knew?”

“Doesn’t matter either way. A job is a job. I do what the family orders me to do.”

“That’s the right answer. Someone is going to do it no matter what, anyway, and sooner than you think.” Alex took a drink, staring off into the mirror behind the bar. “I knew a girl once, big tits, sweet fucking ass, a good girl. You know the type.”

  I grunted. “Sure.”

“I loved that bitch. She gave head so good that my dick is getting hard just remembering it. But one day, she decided to wake up and steal five grand from my stash. The bitch ran off, thinking she was going to get away.”

  “What did you do?”

“I found her and I broke both her legs.” He stared at me. “She didn’t have the five grand, so I took one of her fingers instead. Now there’s some nine-fingered bitch that sucks great dick and walks with a limp out there who’ll never forget me.”

I stared at him. I had no clue if that story was true or not, but I was willing to bet that parts of it were.

He burst out laughing and I put a little smile on my face to play along. He clapped me on the back.

“You’ll be okay,” he said. “Do what you’re ordered to do.”

  “I always do.”

Just then, Boris returned. He sat down on my other side and ordered a drink. We all toasted, and Boris launched in the story of how we fucked that guy up earlier in the day. Of course, Boris played a larger role in his story than he really did in real life, but that didn’t matter. Let the fucking idiot have his moment.

I had to sit there and smile and pretend like nothing was eating at me. I had to pretend, otherwise they would see right through me, and my life would be in danger. I couldn’t keep myself alive and still protect Sadie from these murderous bastards, and so I had to play along. I had to be the good fucking soldier, ready to take orders and to do whatever Vadik asked of me.

But that story was eating at me. I knew Alex used to be a cold hard killer before he got promoted up the ranks, but I had no clue he would fuck up a woman like that. If someone stole from me, I’d be pretty fucking pissed, but I doubted I’d maim someone forever over it. I probably would have burned down her house or her car or some shit, maybe smacked her around a little bit.

It wasn’t like I was fucking soft. I just didn’t fuck up women when I didn’t need to. And I especially wasn’t going to hurt Sadie, no matter what these bastards asked me to do.

So I sat there and I drank, smiling and laughing and sharing stories like we always fucking did, but
my mind was somewhere else.

One thing was nagging at me. What did Alex mean when he said someone was going to do it, and sooner than I thought? It was a weird thing to say in that moment, and I was having a hard time trying to place exactly what he meant. I wanted to go back and ask him, but I knew that I couldn’t. It would be way too obvious if I turned the conversation back to that.

I was going to have to do something else, and soon, otherwise something bad was going to happen to Sadie.

  11

  Sadie

My eyes felt heavy and my shoulders hurt from hunching over the laptop. There was a single lamp on and my glasses felt heavy. I was wearing sweats, a t-shirt, and a messy bun on the top of my head. Files and folders were spread out all around me, cases from years ago, anything that had to do with the Russian mob that had invaded Ashertown.

It went way deeper than I could have guessed. Politicians were bribed, cops were bribed, heck, everyone was bribed. Ashertown was corrupt down to the core, a rotten town full of rotten criminals.

I had no clue how bad it was when I was a kid. Frankly, probably not many people realize the full extent of all this shit and how far back it all went. I was one of the ones that wanted to uncover it all, and that was incredibly dangerous.

Just like back in Seattle, I got phone calls. They were always from men and always threatening me. I reported them all to the police, and they even patrolled around the hotel every day just to make sure nobody was hanging around, but they didn’t really do anything about it. I didn’t really expect them to, considering the massive amounts of money that was probably flowing through their office from the mobsters. They made way more money by turning a blind eye to my peril than they did by helping.

As far as I could tell, I only had one way out of all this. And that was by going all the way, by following through, by getting some convictions and forcing people in the town to finally stand up and say enough is enough. Otherwise, the mafia was just going to bury me like they buried all their other problems over the years.
