"Not before a paternity test bitch!" I yelled and she walked out. "Let me go!" I yelled to Drew.

"Deija, we moved past that shit in Memphis. I have been faithful ever since!" he yelled.

"I fucking hate you Kendrew! All you do is hurt me, and I'm tired of it!" I yelled back with tears flowing.

"Baby, I'm sorry. I know I've been horrible, but we been progressing. Don't let this shit break us apart," he said.

"If you want to keep us together, get a test," I said out of breath.

  "I don't know, I-"

"Well, Kameko, baby Drew, and I will be at the new house. You can stay here until you can handle your fucking business," I said.

  "Deija-"

"Don't take too long, or I'll move on," I said as I stormed to the back to get my kids.

  Chapter Eight: Jessica Leon

I was headed home from Nic's house, when I decided to stop by Target. I needed some more things for my hair, and Kenzie needed some diapers. I told myself not to spend too much because whenever I got in that baby section, I bought my son all kinds of things.

I picked my baby up and we headed inside, to hopefully not spend too much money. If I did, I would just tell Kendon it was for the baby, and he wouldn't trip. We had a joint bank account, so we both saw everything one another spent, which reminded me that I needed to ask him why he spent $1000 at BEBE, yet I don't have the shit.

I picked up some hair things, and Kenzie started to get fussy, so I gave him his pacifier.

"Well, look who it is," I heard Adrienne say.

I kissed Kenzie's fat cheek and looked up at her. "Hi Adrienne," I said.

"What's up? Where is my baby daddy?" she smiled.

"Don't worry about it," I spat. "You need to just worry about your daughter. Matter of fact, where is she?" I frowned as I scanned for Kennedy. She shrugged and then pinched her nose. "Adrienne, where is your baby?!" I asked again, a little more frantic.

"Excuse me ma'am, you forgot your baby at the guest service counter," a young Target employee said, running up with Kennedy in the carrier.

"Thanks," Adrienne replied dryly, as she took the carrier.

"Adrienne, what is wrong with you?" I frowned and she shrugged her shoulders. She sniffled then pinched her nostrils together. "Are you high?" I asked squinting my eyes.

"Mind yo’ fucking business bitch!" she yelled loud as hell through the store. I wanted to rock her ass, but we both had our babies here.

"Adrie-" Kennedy started crying, cutting me off.

"Would you shut up!" Adrienne yelled to her baby.

"Adrienne stop, she's a baby." I pushed my basket closer, and lifted the blanket, to look at Kennedy. I picked her up, and she was hot and wet. She was miserable, I could tell. I felt so bad for this baby. "Adrienne, just let me take her to the bathroom and change her," I said.

"No! You ain't taking my baby nowhere!" she yelled and sniffled.

"Adrienne, she's burning up and she needs her diaper changed," I pleaded.

"Fine bitch, but hurry up," she said, and rolled her eyes. I took a deep breath to stop myself from knocking her smart mouth ass out.

I put Kennedy in my basket, in her carrier. "Where is your diaper bag?" I asked her.

  "Give me my bab-"

"Never mind," I said, seeing she was about to change her mind. I had one more diaper, and a couple wipes left, so I pushed Kenzie and Kennedy to the bathroom. "Sorry son, I have to use your last diaper." I said and kissed his cheek. I changed Kennedy and then wiped her down with the cool wipe.

I walked outside, and I didn't see Adrienne sitting on the bench. Did this bitch really leave her daughter? I searched the store and didn't find her, so I just grabbed two boxes of diapers, some extra baby food, two new bottles, and wipes; Kennedy didn't need to go home with her anyway.

Thank God, Kennedy's carrier doubled as a car seat. I only knew because the shit was expensive, and Adrienne begged Kendon for it. I buckled them both in, and then put my shit in the trunk of my Porsche truck. As I was pulling out, I saw Adrienne wandering around, so I pulled over. I rolled down my passenger window.

"Adrienne, you left your baby," I said.

"Look, I'll get her tonight. Just go," she said looking around, and then walked off. I felt bad for her daughter so I didn't protest.

I got home, and fed them both before bathing them. Kenzie fell right a sleep after I breastfed him, but Kennedy was still up.

"What is she doing here?" Kendon asked.

"Adrienne left her with me at Target, Kendon. She's snorting cocaine babe," I replied.

  "What?!" he frowned.

"She had white residue on her nose, and she left Kennedy at the return counter in Target," I said.

"I had to beg her to let me change her, because she had used the bathroom and was sweating," I said, as I adjusted Kennedy and her bottle in my arms. She was finally falling asleep.

Kendon plopped down on the couch. "I'm gone have to holla at her ass. And thank you for stepping up baby, that's why I love you," he said and kissed my lips.

"You want your dinner? It's in the oven?" I asked.

"Yeah," he replied and I got up.

"Let me put her in the sleep swing, and I will be back with it, okay?" I said and he nodded. I could tell that what I told him was on his mind. I put Kennedy to sleep and brought him his plate.

"I love you Jessica, and I appreciate you, ma," he said as he scooped his food in his mouth.

"I love you too," I said, and kissed his cheek.

  Chapter Eight: Christy King

"Fuck!" I yelled as I kicked my tire.

I came to shop for some lingerie, because I wanted to spice up Kayden and I's FaceTime sessions. I walked outside and saw I had run over a damn nail, which popped my damn tire. I had a spare, so I just needed someone to put it on. I pulled out my phone and dialed Kendreeis.

  "Hello?" he answered.

"Dreeis, I have a flat tire. I have a spare though, so can you come to the mall and put it on for me? I'm at Towson Town Center," I said.

"Alright, give me like ten minutes," he said.

"Thank you," I said before disconnecting. "Fuck!" I said again, as I checked on Kaylie, who was oblivious to my struggle. I shook my head and chuckled, as she played with my keys.

"Christy?" I heard a male voice say. I turned around and saw Tony. "You okay?" he asked.

"My tire is flat, I need it changed," I said.

"Oh, I got you," he said as he started to work on it. I called Kendreeis back to let him know I had help already. "There you go," Tony said once he was done.

"Thank you so much Anthony," I smiled.

  "No problem," he said.

"Aye, uh, do you mind giving me a ride?" he asked out of breath. How did you get over here? I wanted to ask.

  "Okay," I smiled.

"I'm hungry as fuck," he said once we got on the road.

"You want me to stop somewhere?" I asked.

  "Yeah, right here," he pointed.

"Miss Shirley's Cafe? That's a sit down place," I frowned.

"You can't sit down with me? I just changed your tire," he frowned up his sexy face.

"Aight, I guess it's the least I can do," I replied. I pulled up to the establishment, and prayed this went by quickly. I unbuckled Kaylie, and we headed inside.

"She's so cute," the hostess said.

"Thank you," Tony and I said in unison. Okay?

"Why did you say thank you?" I asked him once we sat down.

"Wishful thinking I guess," he smiled.

  "Tony, I -"

"I know you’re taken Christy, but that can't stop me from liking you girl. Your man was a fool to leave you here with me," he bit his lip.

"He didn't leave me here, I told you I asked to stay," I said with a little attitude.

"Whatever. He gone regret letting you make that choice," he smiled.

  "Why is that?" I frowned.

"Cause I'm gone make you mine," he said.

  "You do realiz
e I am married to Kayden, we have a daughter, and I love him, right?" I asked laughing at his confidence.

"You love him now, but not after I steal your heart," he said.

Thank God the waitress came over and took our orders. I rushed through my meal and then requested a doggy bag, since it was almost 8:45pm. Kayden usually called around 9:30pm, and for some reason I felt that if he called while Tony was around, he'd purposely cause some shit.

We headed out the restaurant, and Tony grabbed my hand in his. "Bye mommy and daddy," the waitress called out before I could snatch away.

"Tony, you can't be doing that!" I spat as I buckled Kaylie in.

"You can't tell me you didn't enjoy yourself tonight, Christy," he chuckled.

"No I didn't. I would rather be home, talking on the phone with my husband! My husband, whom I love and plan to stay with!" I yelled. He was pissing me off.

"Who are you trying to convince, Christy, me or yourself?" he frowned as he neared me.

"You! I don't need to convince myself of anything nigga!" I yelled and lightly pushed him away.

"Aight, cool," he smiled and hopped in the passenger seat. "I'm sorry," he said as we headed to his father’s condo.

"It's cool," I said without looking at him.

"I just want you to know that if you need someone to talk to, or anything, hit me up Christy," he said. I didn't respond and turned up my music.

My phone buzzed, and I saw it was Kayden calling me to FaceTime. Fuck! I wasn't home, or in my new lingerie I bought. I was up here with this nigga, who couldn't take a hint.

"Who this?" Tony asked sarcastically, and picked up my phone.

"Tony stop! You better not!" I said looking back and forth between the road and him. He smiled, and slowly eased his pointing finger closer to the answer button.

"Tony please," I begged. I didn't want to attempt to snatch the phone, and kill us all. However, I knew if he answered that phone, Kayden may kill him.

The ringing ceased, and he put the phone down laughing. I snatched my phone out the cup holder, and put it in my lap.

"I guess you do love that muthafucka, the way you was panicking and shit. Tony! Tony please!" he mocked me and laughed. I ignored him and kept driving. "Soon you gone be saying my name like that, but under different circumstances Ms. Christy," he smiled, and bit his lip.

  Chapter Nine: Nic King

This evening, I was going on my date with Whitney. I chose today, because Kendrick was still in the hospital. My mom was more than happy to watch my sons, so that was a plus.

I wore short distressed jean shorts, simple black stilettos, with one strap around my ankle, and one across the toes, and a tight crop halter-top in black. My hair was pressed and parted down the middle. I looked sexy as fuck. Although I had no interest in Whitney, I still wanted to look good. Every time Kendrick cheated, it took a little bit of my self-esteem away. No matter how much he tried to convince me that Paris and Sydney were just cum buckets, they were still beautiful girls. They had something in that moment that unfortunately, my man wanted. I bumped my ends, put on my nude lipstick, and then headed out the door.

We agreed to meet at Niko's house. Once I arrived, I took a deep breath and checked my phone to see a text from Kendrick, two hours ago.

  Daddy: I love you baby.

Me: I love you too. Goodnight.

I felt guiltier now, and didn't want to text him any longer. I put my phone in my little purse, and headed to my father’s door. I already wanted this night to be over so badly. I walked inside, after Katrina opened the door for me. She mouthed I'm sorry, and I nodded.

"Wow Nic," Whitney said, as he stood up to look at me.

"You look beautiful honey," Niko said, and I rolled my eyes at him.

  "You ready Whitney?" I asked.

"Born," he replied. He was wearing a Versace suit in black, with a navy blue button up. His fade was fresh, and he wore a nice watch. He had nothing on my Kendrick at all. He walked over to hug me, and the feeling of his hands on my small back, made me feel strange.

"Have fun kids," Niko smiled, as he opened the door for us.

We walked to Whitney's Mercedes, and he opened the door for me to get in. "Thank you," I said as I slid into the car.

  ***

"You said you have two sons?" he asked as we drove to our destination.

"Yeah, a two year old, and an eleven month old," I smiled.

"Wow, that's a blessing," he replied.

  "Yeah it is," I said.

"Not to be disrespectful, but your body shows no signs of them,” he smiled.

"Thank you. Do you have any kids?" I asked.

"Nah, not yet. One day hopefully," he said, and I nodded.

We arrived at the dock, and got onto his yacht. "Is this yours?" I asked, admiring the scenery. Everything was white, and looked so clean.

"It is," he smiled as he pulled my chair out.

"How old are you?" I asked as I sat down.

  "Twenty-six years old, you?"

  "I'm 20. I will be 21 in four months; December," I replied.

"Wow. And you're in college?" he asked opening his napkin, to place in his lap.

"Yeah, in my last year, thank God," I smiled.

"Yeah, I know how that is. I couldn't wait to finish college," he smiled and so did I.

"So what do you do to be able to afford this Whitney?" I asked, as the waiter sat down two flutes filled with champagne.

"I'm a social worker. But using my father’s advice, I invested in some stocks that proved to be a great move," he smiled and I nodded.

"How do you know Niko?" I asked.

"He's friends with my father. I came over just to visit him, and then I saw you," he beamed.

"So, why do you want to be on this date with me? I'm married," I said.

"Just company I guess. I work really hard, and I haven't been able to date. So you can't blame me for wanting the company of a beautiful woman. I can respect that you have a family, while enjoying my night with you," he smiled and so did I.

  "Good answer," I chuckled.

"So, your husband, how long have you guys been together?" he asked.

"Three years," I sipped my champagne.

"I see, and has that been paradise?" he asked.

"I mean, marriage is hard but we're obsessed with each other. I love being with him; he's so strong and I love that about him. I don't worry about anything, because I know he will always take care of our sons and me. If we were to go broke one day, he would figure something out for us. No matter what it is, he's like our armor," I smiled.

"That's good. A husband is supposed to provide, protect, and secure. So I'm happy to hear he's doing that for you. You deserve that," he smiled.

  "Thank you. I agree."

"What would he say if he knew about tonight?" he asked.

"Mmmm, he'd probably kill you," I replied, and his jaw dropped.

"No, really. What would his response be?" he chuckled.

"I'm serious. He may give you a warning. If we had sex, he'd kill you for sure," I smiled although serious.

"Damn, he's ruthless I see," he replied. "But just so you know, I wouldn't mind getting shot to have a night with you," he said with a serious face. I didn’t say anything, as I pushed my hair behind my ears. "I would really take my time with you; paying extra attention to every crevice of your body," he continued and licked his lips. I sipped my champagne and cleared my throat. "So why doesn't your father like him?" he asked, changing the subject.

"My husband's lifestyle is not the safest, so Niko doesn't want me with him," I replied.

"Oh well, all that matters is that he protects you from whatever lifestyle he leads," he said.

  "Yeah. He does," I smiled.

"So how old is your husband?"

  "Twenty-two," I replied.

"Wow you guys are young. Y'all been able to stay faithful?" he asked smiling. I paused for a moment and the waitress set down the salads. "I'm sorry Nic, did I hit a nerve?" he
asked.

"No, no you’re fine. We have been able to stay faithful," I lied and smiled.

"I'm happy to hear that. I see too many beautiful women let men step out on them, just cause they love them. Sometimes you have to be strong and let it go," he said.
