Sherry: A Please Me Novella Page 7

by J. J. Marstead

“I’ll remember that in ten years when you bring your girlfriend home, Mister,” I say.

Mason’s face goes red and he mumbles something about not wanting a girlfriend, blah blah blah; what all little boys say. Girls have cooties. It’s good that he thinks that, because he’s my little boy, but in a few years, I think the grey hair will show up quick when the girls start coming around.

The kitchen isn’t filled with smoke when I enter. Hmmm, that’s not normal for my mother. Usually the smoke detector goes off and the windows need to be opened, but the air is clear and no smoke in sight. I must say, I’m proud that she didn’t burn anything but that is short-lived when I see the boxes on the counter, take out? Oh, my God, she ordered in.

“Mom, you actually ordered in? I thought you were going to make something,” I say as she glares at me.

“You know cooking isn’t my speciality,” she mumbles under her breath.

I snicker because that’s for damn sure. I remember my father mostly cooking the meals when I was growing up. Well, if we wanted to have anything edible.

“I know mom, believe me I know,” I reply.

Her head snaps up from the box of take out and she glares at me. I try my hardest to keep a straight face but I fail. I start laughing so hard. My mother begins to crack, the glare on her face turns to a smirk, then turns to a full out chuckle. We’re laughing so hard that we have tears in our eyes. My father comes walking in and stares at us with questioning eyes, then he shakes his head, muttering out loud that he doesn’t want to know and leaves the kitchen which causes us to laugh even more. My mother sighs, wiping her eyes. I do the same. it’s been so long since I’ve laughed like this. It feels good.

“Do you need help setting the table?” I ask when I can catch my breath.

She nods and hands me the plates. I take them to the dining room and place them on the table. I feel someone come up behind me and I smile when I feel hands touch my shoulders lightly but something feels a little off. I turn around and come face to face with Jeff. My eyes widen when he leans down to kiss me. I back away.

“What do you think you’re doing?” I hiss at him.

He sighs and runs a hand through his hair. “Damn it, Sherry, you weren’t supposed to be here with some guy. I wanted us to work out things for Mason. Become a real family.”

I can’t believe he just tried to kiss me with Mike in the house. And Mason! That would confuse the hell out of him. I don’t know what the hell Jeff’s thinking, but it isn’t going to happen.

“Jeff, I don’t think us being together will be any good for Mason. We don’t have to be together to be good parents to him. You know that. I’m with Mike now and I’m actually pretty happy for once.”

He frowns a little, his forehead wrinkling a bit. “What do you mean happy ‘for once’. Are you saying you weren’t happy with me?”

I sigh, this is going to be one hell of a wake-up call to him. “I can’t do this again with you. When we were together it was like you couldn’t get away from Mason and me fast enough. All the late nights where I was in bed wondering if you were dead on the side of the road or something. You never called, you never really cared to let me know anything.” I sigh again because of all the flashbacks that are coming to me. I really can’t even take a chance when Mike, a loving and caring guy, wants me even when he found out about Mason. He didn’t run like the others. That right there says that he’s a good guy. Jeff goes to open his mouth but I put my hand up to stop him. He snaps his mouth shut.

“Let me finish before you say anything.”

He nods his head and motions for me to continue.

“We’ve been down this road twice, Jeff. It will turn out the exact same as the other two times. I want to be with Mike. Mason doesn’t seem to hate him so that is a good sign. Mike has always wanted kids. His sister mentioned a few times that Mike is great with kids. He won’t be trying to take over your role as Mason’s father. You don’t have to worry about that, but I’m happy and I’m not going to walk down memory lane with you.” Once I’m finished I notice someone is standing behind Jeff at the dining room door. They come in and its Mike.

Mike walks over to me slowly with a huge smile on his face. I know by the smile on his face that he heard every single word I said. He wraps his arms around me and kisses the side of my head. I grin up at him, then I look at Jeff, who looks like he lost the only thing he ever loved. I can’t help but feel a little bad about how he’s feeling. I’m not a bitch and I don’t hate Jeff for what he put me through a few years ago. He’s the father of my child. I will always have some sort of feelings for him, but they are not like what I feel for Mike, not even close.

“You won’t change your mind about this, will you?” Jeff asks.

I shake my head. “Jeff, I’m sorry. I know you’ve supposedly changed from what my mother said, and you’re taking Mason out to the park and everything and that’s great. You need to spend time with your son. But there will be no ‘us’.”

Jeff looks up at Mike and stares at him then back to me. “Does he treat you, right?” he asks.

I nod my head. “Yes, he treats me right. Our relationship might still be new, but he’s what I’ve wanted for a while now and now that I got him I’m not letting him go.”

“You’ll never be able to push me away now that I know that,” Mike whispers into my ear, making me giggle.

Jeff nods his head at Mike. “If he understands his role when it comes to Mason and treats you both right…” He turns to leave as he says, “I’ll let Mason know that I’m going to head out.”

I look up at Mike and he nods his head towards Jeff. Mike would never stop Jeff from being around his son. I step forward and stop Jeff by putting my hand on his arm. He turns and looks down at me.

“You don’t have to go. Stay and spend some time with your son. I know he wants you here for supper,” I say softly.

Jeff’s attitude brightens a little and he nods his head. He looks up at Mike and nods his head. “Thank you.” Then he heads back to the living room where our son is probably running amuck.

I turn around and Mike is standing there looking at me like he’s ready to eat me up. I walk over to him and he pulls my hips to him and devours my mouth with a feverish kiss, then he pulls back and puts his forehead to mine. “When I heard, you tell him that you want me and only me. I swear my cock got so fucking hard.”

I gasp because I never heard him swear before besides when he was going down on me. It’s turning me the fuck on right now.

My mother starts yelling for me. “What is taking so long to set the table, Sherry?”

Mike chuckles and kisses me again before letting me go. “You better head back to the kitchen. Sounds like your mother needs some help.” He turns around and heads out of the dining room, leaving me standing there hornier than a teenager. Oh, his ass is mine tonight.

I head back to the kitchen to see what else I need to help with, but the whole time I’m thinking of ways to make Mike pay for getting me hot and bothered and then leaving me hanging.

After supper, Jeff stayed a little longer to play with Mason, then left to head home. Mason is on the floor with Mike playing cars. It’s a nice thing to see that they are getting along. That was one of my fears, them not seeing eye to eye. I’m happy to see how they are with each other. I guess it’s safe to say that Mason likes Mike. Even if he puts on a show in front of me, I know he likes Mike. I can tell by the way he is right now with him.

I look down at my phone and notice there’s a text message. I swipe it over to check and it’s from April.

April -: How are things there? See? My brother didn’t run for the hills.

I can’t help but chuckle at her little comment.

Sherry -: No, your brother didn’t run for the hills. Mason and Mike seem to get along great. The only little hiccup today was my ex was here for supper but nothing too major happened.

It takes a few minutes till she replies. I wonder how things are for h
er. She seemed a little upset about something the night before I left but she didn’t tell me anything then, so I’m positive she won’t tell me anything now. But I can try, can’t I?

April -: I knew they would get along. Mike loves kids. I’m glad that everything is working out great for you. I just want you and my brother happy. About your ex being there, nothing happened, right?

Sherry -: Awe, thank you. We are happy that we aren’t running around each other anymore. Well, it more so was me that was running, he was the one trying to get my attention. I’m just happy that I took yours and Jade’s advice and put my big girl panties on. Nothing happened with my ex being here. He did try to kiss me but I told him exactly where to go.

April -: Oh my God, he tried to kiss you? He didn’t do it in front of Mike that’s for sure because Mike would have flipped his lid.

I chuckle at her choice of words, flipped his lid. I smile, then reply.

Sherry -: Mike was actually standing there for the whole conversation I had with Jeff. Jeff cornered me in the dining room and I told him how I felt about him and what I felt for Mike. He understands now that there is not chance for us to be a couple. I think he was worried that your brother would step in and try to take his place as Mason’s father.

April -: My brother would never try to do that. He’s not the type of man to do that. Yes, of course, he’ll love Mason like his own for sure but he wouldn’t do that to Jeff. I hope Jeff knows that. I don’t want problems to start. My brother deserves happiness.

Sherry -: I know and he will. Jeff knows, I’ve told him that Mike won’t try and replace him.

  April -: Good

I grin at the little smiley face she puts. She’s always doing that with texts and stuff, little smiles here and there and some times hearts. She makes me giggle.

Sherry -: So, when are you going to talk to me about why you were upset the night before we left? I know something happened. Is it the doctor?

A few minutes go by and she finally writes back.

April -: It has to do with a lot of things, and yes one of the main reasons for my mood the other night is because of the doctor. We’ll talk about this when you get home. I’ll let you and Jade know at the same time.

Sherry -: Okay, sounds good to me. I got to go. I should get the little man to bed, it’s getting late. Good night.

  April -: Good night xoxo

I look down at the floor from the chair I’m sitting on and see Mike looking up at me.

  “Everything okay?” he asks.

  I nod my head.

“Yup, it was your sister texting to see how everything is going,” I say and he nods.

“It’s bed time, Mason,” I say. Of course, there’s some whining and groaning that he’s not tired, but I’m not having it. It’s close to ten-thirty, it’s way past his bed time. “Go brush your teeth, then I’ll tuck you in,” I say.

He gets up off the floor mumbling it’s not fair and heads out of the living room.

  “He’s a great kid.”

I nod my head because I know he is. “He is. I’m glad you’re getting along,” I say with a smile playing my lips.

“Yeah, he seems to like me when I’m on the floor playing with him,” he chuckles, making me giggle.

Mike gets off the floor and comes over to me, then leans down, putting his hands on each side of the chair and kisses me lips.

I hear, “Ewwww, Mike. Girls have cooties. Mommy just gave you cooties.” Mason is whining like it’s the end of the world and I lose it. I’m full out laughing at the look of horror on his face. Mike chuckles along with me.

“Don’t worry, Mason, Mike is safe from cooties,” I try to say with a straight face. He looks at me wondering how Mike’s safe. “Grown ups don’t get cooties,” I add as he scrunches up his face. I clap my hands together and get off the chair. “Time for bed,” I say again and Mason shakes his head. I put my hands on my hips and give Mason a ‘Oh yes you are’ glare.

He looks at Mike and gives his little toothless smile. “I want Mike to tuck me in and read me my story.”

I’m taken back. I look at Mike and he’s in shock as well.

“Mike, can you put me to bed?” Mason asks Mike.

Mike nods his head, his eyes misty from unleashed tears. It warms my heart knowing that they’re getting along so well that he wants Mike to put him to bed.

“Sure, little buddy. I’ll put you to bed, if that’s okay with your mom,” Mike says, looking at me.

I’m borderline breaking down crying because I’m so happy. I clear my throat, because the emotion stuck in my throat is almost too much for me to bear.

“Yes, it’s okay with me,” I say, my voice cracking a little as I try to control it.

Mike walks over to me and gives me a little kiss. “Thank you,” he whispers in my ear. He walks over to Mason, picks him off the ground, holds him in his arms. They leave the living room and race upstairs.

A moment later my mother comes in with a grin on her face. She must have heard everything. “Mason seems to be warming up nicely to Mike,” she says.

“Yeah. I was so worried that Mason would hate Mike. I didn’t think Mason would like anyone with me besides his father,” I mumble.

My mother sighs and sits down on the couch. “Mason will be happy if he sees that you’re happy, Sherry. It doesn’t matter what man you choose to be with. Mason sees it if you’re happy with your life. If you weren’t happy he would scent it and the outcome of him not liking the man you’re with would show.”

I sigh because I know she’s right. I just hope that everything from here on out is peachy. Jeff knows where he stands with me and Mason seems to like Mike. Hopefully everything only gets better from this point on.

“Don’t worry too much about it. I’m sure Mason loves Mike. Especially if he asked for Mike to put him to bed,” my mother says.

I know deep down I will always have my fears of something happening and boom, Mason will hate Mike and then my life will be a living nightmare.

My head is buzzing. I just want to head to bed. “Sorry mom, but it’s been a long day. I’m heading to bed. If Mike comes back down, just let him know.”

My mother nods and I make my way upstairs.

The door opens to the bedroom and I look at the time on the clock. It reads almost midnight. Mike gets undressed and gets under the covers. I feel his naked body against my back and it’s like I’m fully awake and ready for him as my pussy gets wet from just feeling his naked skin against me.

“Did you have a hard time getting Mason to sleep?” I ask, my voice full of sleep.

“No, I tucked him in and read him two stories. Half way through the second on he was out like a light.”

“You’re getting to bed late,” I say.

He cuddles into me and I feel his erection poking at my ass, which causes me to squirm a little.

“I was talking with your father for a bit,” he says and I hum in my throat. He grinds his erection into me and I groan. My barely there panties are getting wetter by the second. He moves his hands down the front of my stomach to my panties, his hand slipping in. He groans into my neck.

“Fuck, you’re wet already,” he moans, running his finger up and down my slit.

My hips move and my ass grinds into his cock, the thin material holding his cock back becomes too much for him. He leans away from me and pulls them down with his hand then kicks them off.

“Are you too tired for me?” he asks, his voice sounding seductive against my ear.

“No,” I moan. I was tired, but I’m more than awake now.

His fingers playing with me again. My hips start moving on their own to get more, wanting more.

“Fuck, that feels good,” I groan, his finger moving faster around my clit, little shocks going up my body, showing I’m close to losing it. He stops his fast movements and goes slower, almost killing me with how slow he’s going.

“Tease,” I hiss under my breath and he chuckles lightly into my shoulder,
nipping at my bare skin, causing shivers to run through my body.

“Teasing. I’m not trying to tease really. I just want to prolong your climax to make it bigger for you,” he whispers into my hair. Fucker, I’ll show him to prolong my climax, payback’s a bitch.

“I want to taste you. Spread those legs, baby,” he lightly growls. He moves away from me and whips the blanket off me. My nipples harden against the thin material that’s covering my breasts from the cool air drifting around the room. He groans, leaning forward, nipping at my nipples through my thin top. I gasp when his teeth nick my nipple. He makes his way down to my stomach just above my panties. He tears them from my body like they’re nothing. I gasp because the feeling of them tightening against my clit sends shock waves through my body.

“Yes,” I hiss out and he spreads my legs wider. He doesn’t waste any time; his head is in between my legs and his talented tongue shoots out and flicks my clit. I buck my hips into his face and he groans tasting me.

“Fuck, you taste so damn good.” He inhales deeply and groans. “Damn, you even smell good. Fuck, everything about you is perfect, your taste and your smell. It’s intoxicating,” he purrs.

My hand moves down to touch the top of his head, my fingers running through his hair. He starts sucking on my clit, lightly nibbling on it, sending shocks up my spine.

  “Fuck, yes,” I breathlessly hiss.

He surprises me and rams two fingers into my tight pussy, causing my hips to buck off the bed. I moan loudly and Mike chuckles, shushing me to be quiet.

“You got to be quiet, you don’t want to wake up your parents or your son,” he mentions with his face still between my legs.

I bite my lip, humming in my throat, and nod my head. His fingers begin to move in and out of my pussy. He leans forward and latches on to my clit. The feeling of him fingering me and his tongue doing wonders to my clit, it’s sending me close to the edge of climaxing. He hooks his fingers up, giving long hard strokes.

“Yes, fuck. I’m close,” my voice comes out broken from the shortage of air supply.
