“Make love to me Trent.” Jake pleaded.
Trent looked longing into Jake’s eyes. He had fucked men before but it had been years, but he wouldn’t have considered it making love. It was always something to get off. This time was different. He reached for the nightstand and pulled open the drawer and pulled out a condom and a bottle of lube.
Trent rubbed some lube onto Jakes hole and pushed in one finger. He didn’t want to hurt this man. This wasn’t something that was a rough wham bam fuck. He wanted Jake to enjoy this love making. Jake pushed back on Trent’s finger and moaned. Trent slowly added two more fingers and pulled them almost out and pushed them back in.
“Trent…please…I want to feel you inside me,” Jake moaned.
Trent removed his fingers and opened the condom wrapper and slowly rolled on the condom on this hard sex and added more lube to the outside. He placed a pillow under Jake, lifted Jake’s legs onto his shoulders so he could look into his eyes as the two made love, and aligned himself with Jake’s entrance. He slowly pushed himself him in and moments later he was balls deep. Trent started at a slow pace and slowly sped up the rhythm.
The entire time the two men’s eyes never broke their instance stare. Jake grabbed hold of the comforter as he came without touching himself and Trent released his seed into him. Trent collapsed on top of Jake and kissed him.
Ten minutes later the two walked to the bathroom to clean up and climbed back into Trent’s bed still naked. Trent pulled Jake’s naked body close to him in a spooning position. Trent hadn’t had another man in his bed in a while, but he was content sharing his space with Jake. He fell asleep with a smile on his face listening to the sound of Jake’s steady breathing.
Seven
Saturday morning Trent woke up still holding Jake in his arms. He assumed it was around six-thirty in the morning because his internal clock woke him up daily regardless of the day. He laid there and listened to the sounds of Jake’s steady breathing.
Eventually nature called and he quietly slipped out of bed and walked to the bedroom. He wanted to slip back into bed and hold the wonderful man that he had gotten to make love to a few hours earlier. He walked back into the room and saw Jake sitting up in bed with his knees to his chest.
“Morning, did I wake you?” Trent asked.
“No, I’ve been awake the whole time. I’ve just been listening to you sleep.” Jake confessed burying his face in his knees.
Trent slipped back under the covers and wrapped his arms around Jake, “I was listening to you sleep too.”
“I’d kiss you but I haven’t brushed my teeth yet.”
“I think we can manage.” Trent said leaning in for a morning after kiss.
Trent broke the kiss when he heard Jake’s stomach growl from hunger and Jake just smiled in embarrassment.
“Guess we should find something to eat.”
“What no breakfast in bed?” Jake teased.
“Tempting, but if we stay in bed I don’t think I could keep my hands off of you.”
“I’m okay with that,” Jake said removing the covers and revealing his morning erection.
Trent couldn’t take his eyes off the man sitting next to him. He leaned in for a passionate kiss that lead to another round of love-making.
**
Trent was sitting a plate of warm biscuits on the table as Jake walked into the kitchen. He didn’t know what the man liked for breakfast, but knew the man was hungry. So he whipped up his and Maddie’s Saturday morning breakfast tradition when she didn’t have soccer or dance. He had cooked scrambled eggs, bacon, pancakes, biscuits, and country gravy.
“Damn, no breakfast?” Jake asked sarcastically joining Trent who was sitting at the table.
“Well I didn’t know what you liked.”
“It looks delicious, thank you.” Jake said leaning over and giving Trent a gentle kiss on the lips. He had never met a man that cooked him breakfast; the lasting relationships that he had in the past forced him to be the romantic one, and he was always taking care of others.
Trent took his empty plate to the sink and turned towards Jake, “I don’t know what you’re plans are tonight, but Madeline has a dance recital and I didn’t know if you wanted to go.”
Jake looked up at Trent and how special the man truly was. His love for his niece was amazing and the fact that he wanted to include Jake made him feel special. That these feelings that he was feeling for Trent must also be the same feelings Trent was having for him.
“I mean you don’t have to go.” Trent added after Jake didn’t answer.
Jake realized that he was just staring at Trent and hadn’t given him an answer, “No, I would love to go. Maddie is an amazing little girl. I’m sorry I just got lost in thought.”
Trent broke into a huge smile and walked back to the table, “What?” Trent asked softly realizing Jake was still staring at him.
Jake didn’t want to reveal all his feelings so soon. He had to find a way to lighten the mood, “You take all your dates to dance recitals?” Jake asked with a smile.
“Only the special ones in my life,” Trent said having to break his gaze with Jake feeling his face flush at the pure honesty in the statement. He wasn’t sure when his feelings had developed so quickly. He never was one to believe in love at first sight.
He knew that any guy that he wanted to have a relationship with had to love kids and realize that he and Maddie were a package deal and that Maddie’s well-being was his first priority. He had gone on a few dates in the past few months, but no guy had met Maddie before, but there was something about Jake that was different. Trent knew that Jake understood how important Maddie was to him when he had invited him to the holiday party and took Maddie into consideration.
Without hesitation Trent leaned in for his hundredth kiss that morning.
“I know Maddie is the most important part of your life, and for us to have a relationship I understand it isn’t the typical ‘boy meets boy; boy and boy get married; boy and boy have baby.’”
“That’s your typical definition of a relationship?” Trent smiled.
“Yes, I’m traditional,” he laughed. “I really want to get to know you and Maddie. I want to see where this could go.”
“I couldn’t have said it better myself.” Trent said.
**
Jake looked over at Trent as he watch Maddie on the stage recording the recital like all the other proud fathers. He had never been to a children’s dance recital before and had only seen it in the movies where it was typically portrayed where the children were clumsy, but this was different. All the children danced well for their young age, and he could tell their hours of practice had paid off.
“Sorry if this is boring,” Trent said leaning over and whispering in his ear at the final curtain call. This was the first time that Trent had taken his eyes off the stage.
“It’s not boring. They are really good.”
“They really are and Maddie wouldn’t even practice in front of me.”
“That’s too cute. She is so adorable and she is a wonderful Clara.”
“Isn’t she? I didn’t even know she had a lead part. She wanted this whole evening to be a surprise. She really loves dancing.”
“Well don’t you sound like a proud papa?”
“I am a proud papa, but to her I’m Uncle Trent. I could never replace her parents.”
“And no one is expecting you to, but you are in that role and I only hope that one day I’m as good as a father as you are to Maddie. I could be bias but I think that she was the best one up there.” Jake said with a smile.
“Now who sounds like a proud papa?” Trent smiled back.
Trent and Jake weaved their way through the crowd of other relatives to the reception area and poured coffee into a small Styrofoam cup.
“Did you like it?” Maddie exclaimed as she ran up to the two of them.
“We loved it and you were amazing!” Trent said setting down his cup and picking her up.
“Thank you.” She said giving his a kiss on the cheek and turned her attention to Jake.
“Did you enjoy it?” Maddie asked for Jake’s opinion.
“I thought it was the best Nutcracker I have ever seen, and you were the perfect Clara.”
Maddie’s face lit up at his compliment, “Thank you we worked really hard at it.”
“We could tell princess. You ready to go home and have some dinner?”
“I’m starving,” She said overly dramatic.
The two men stared at her. Jake knew that Trent was going to have his hands full with that little girl and would have to beat the boys…or girls away when she started to date.
“Are you joining us for dinner, Jake? We’re making spaghetti and watching a movie.”
Jake looked to Trent blushing at Maddie’s forwardness.
“Pleeeaaaasssee,” Maddie pleaded.
“Pleeeaaaasssee,” Trent added leaning his head in towards Maddie as the two gave their best puppy dog faces.
“How could I say no to that?” Jake questioned.
**
“What’re we having?” Jake asked.
“Spaghetti,” Maddie answered. “Uncle Trent makes great spaghetti.” Maddie added as Trent placed a pot of water on the stove to boil.
“So we have an award winner?” Jake mocked looking over at Trent.
“I wouldn’t say award winning, but it’s up there.” Trent smiled.
As Trent waited for the water to boil he watched as Jake helped Maddie wash her hands so she could help shred cheese. Jake was a natural with her and he could tell that he really cared about her and that it wasn’t an act like some guys would do just to get in good with him.
Twenty minutes later Trent turned off the stove and called into the living room that dinner was ready. Maddie dragged Jake into the kitchen and it was cute to see her bonding so quickly to the man he was falling for, but at the same time he worried about the negative, what if it doesn’t work? Trent pushed the negative thoughts out and focused on the here and now.
“Did y’all pick out a movie?” Trent asked the two handing them both a plate of food.
“It’s a surprise,” Maddie answered.
“Yes a surprise.” Jake chimed in.
“I think I can get it out of you.” Trent said pulling Jake close and giving him a small peck on the cheek.
“My lips are sealed.” Jake said bringing his hand to his lips and acting like he was locking it.
Trent laughed and rolled his eyes at his goofy attitude, “Okay, I get it. It’s a surprise.”
The three sat in the living room on the floor around the coffee table. Trent looked around and for a brief second got a glimpse of what it could be like…the three of them as a family.
“Uncle Trent, you ready to start the movie?” Maddie asked snapping him back to reality.
“Yes, I’m ready.” He said looking at Jake and Maddie staring at him. He smiled and took a bite of his spaghetti as Maddie started the movie and the opening credits of the holiday movie started.
When everyone was done Trent cleared the empty plates, and joined Jake and Maddie who had made themselves comfortable on the couch. Maddie sat in the middle and fell asleep on Jake’s shoulder halfway through the movie. When the closing credits began Trent looked over at his sleeping niece and Jake just smiled back at him.
“She’s a great kid,” Jake confirmed what he was sure Trent already knew.
“Thanks, but I can’t take all the credit.” Trent said looking down remembering the loss of his sister.
“I can’t imagine what you’re going through.” Jake whispered not wanting Maddie to wake hearing this conversation.
“I should get her to bed.” Trent whispered.
“I’ll help you.” Jake said shifting his weight on the couch and scooping Maddie into his arms in a swift motion.
Jake carefully carried Maddie upstairs and laid her in her bed after Trent pulled down the sheets of her made bed.
“You’re really great with her,” Trent said leaning against the doorframe.
“I’ve always wanted a big family.”
“Me too, I just never thought I could manage my job and a family before all this happened.”
“Family life is a balancing act that’s for sure.” Jake said stepping past him so Trent could close the door.
Trent knew what he was asking Santa for Christmas, and that was Jake. He just didn’t know how to do it. He typically wasn’t so forward.
“I guess I should be going.”
“I wish you didn’t have to go.”
Jake knew what he wanted to say, but he couldn’t be that forward knowing that Maddie was there, and didn’t know how Trent would feel.
“You could stay. Maddie loves you,”
“Maddie loves me?”
“Yes, and I love you.” Trent whispered.
“I love you, too.”
Trent looked up and leaned forward and kissed Jake. “Will you stay?” Trent asked pulling back from the kiss.
“Yes, but I’m not doing anything with your niece down the hall,” Jake said playfully poking Trent in the chest.
“Just some serious making out,” Trent said pulling Jake toward the bedroom.
Eight
Monday morning Trent sat in his office at Randolph Advertising. It felt amazing waking up that morning with Jake in his arms. He had never had anyone stay the night before and was afraid of the impact of having Maddie see Jake in the morning. Trent had felt Jake stir in his arms before his alarm sounded and was moved when Jake whispered that he should leave before Maddie woke up.
‘I’ll call you later?’ Jake had whispered when Trent and he had reached the front door.
‘You better,’ Trent winked leaning in for a kiss.
‘Bye.’ Jake said pulling away and turning and walking towards his car.
Trent was snapped back to reality when his assistant walked into the office, “Good morning Mr. Brooks.”
“Good morning Tammy. Did you have a good weekend?”
Tammy stopped and stared at him, “I had an okay weekend, but it looks like you had a better weekend than I did.”
“Why do you say that?” Trent asked breaking out in a grin.
“Well you’ve been smiling all morning and daydreaming for the past thirty minutes. What’s his name?”
Trent was taken aback by his assistant’s forwardness, but he never did try to hide his sexuality at work in fact all the partners and coworkers were aware, but he never did mention his personal relationships at work.
‘Jake didn’t want to stay for breakfast?’ Maddie asked when she came down that morning.
‘What do you mean honey?’ Trent asked. He didn’t want to lie to his niece, but he didn’t want to tell her more than she really knew.
‘Well I heard Jake leave this morning. You don’t have to hide anything from me. It doesn’t bother me that he stayed here last night. I think he’s great and you need to be happy Uncle Trent.’
Trent broke into a smile just thinking about what his niece had told him this morning, and not that he needed it, but he did appreciate that he had her approval of Jake. Ultimately for any relationship to develop there had to be a connection between his boyfriend and Maddie.
“So…are you going to tell me?” Tammy asked again.
“Jake. His name’s Jake.”
“Well it’s about time you learn how to balance a work life and a social life.” Tammy laughed.
“Very funny, Tammy, so what does my day look like?” Trent asked trying to shift back into work mode.
“Well you have a meeting at ten with the art department to discuss the Myers account, eleven you have meeting with a potential new client-”
“What’s the client’s name?”
Tammy flipped some pages in her notepad, “It’s with a David Moreno with Westmore Reality.
“Is that all?”
“For meetings yes, but Roger asked to see you when you got in,” Tammy
said closing her notepad.
“Roger Randolph…as in the owner and senior partner of this company,” Trent asked.
“Yes that would be the man I’m referring to when I say Roger…just like every other time I’ve said Roger since we don’t have any other Roger working here.” Tammy added with her normal amount of sarcasm.
“Well that would have been nice to know about ten minutes ago then going over meeting details and my weekend.” Trent said standing and putting his suit jacket back on.
“Roger told me to give you the morning update and your schedule for the day as I do daily, and then to inform you of his meeting.”
“I keep forgetting you don’t work for me.”
“It’s my pleasure to assist you Mr. Brooks.” Tammy added with a smile.
Trent rolled his eyes as he walked passed her and walked towards the elevator.
The elevator doors opened and Trent walked down the corridor towards Mr. Randolph’s office. Mr. Randolph’s assistant sat behind a desk typing on the computer and only looking up to greet the worker now standing at her desk.
“May I help you?” The woman asked looking up at Trent.
“Yes, my assistant told me that Mr. Randolph asked to see me.”
“You’re name?” The woman asked flatly.
Trent didn’t take the woman’s tone as cold, but understood that her job was to be a gatekeeper for Mr. Randolph, and there were many people in the company that wished to see him. “Trent Brooks,” Trent answered clearing his throat and mentally shaking off his nerves.
The woman typed a code on the phone and spoke into the wireless headset, “Sir, I have a Mr. Trent Brooks here to see you. He said that you requested to see him.” There was a pause and Trent could hear a voice muffled from the headset. “Yes sir.” She said and disconnected the intercom. “He’ll see you now.” She said gesturing towards the office door.
Trent straightened his tie and walked toward the door. His mind was spinning over the meaning of this meeting.
