Hannah felt sick as she walked to his bedroom door.
***
Brett heard the knock at the door.
“Leave me alone!”
“OK, I’ll go,” Hannah said.
He was out of his bed in seconds, tripping over his sheets as he scrambled to get to the door. He felt terrible when he saw the scared look on her face.
“Baby, I’m sorry. I thought you were one of the guys.”
He pulled her right into his arms and held her. “I’m glad you’re here. What’s going on?”
“I want to talk to you about something.”
They both went and lay in bed facing each other.
“I know you’re upset about me going out Friday night.”
“Dammit, which one called?”
“The guys didn’t call me, and they didn’t tell my friends, either. Honestly, I should’ve thought of it on my own, and I’m really sorry I didn’t. Chelsea thought of it while we were getting our nails done tonight.”
“We don’t need to talk about it. Everything’s fine.”
“That’s not true, so just tell me what’s bothering you.”
“I don’t want us to end up in a fight.”
“I don’t plan on us fighting. I’m sure we’re going to have arguments at times, but we can’t avoid them by never talking about things.”
Brett let out a sigh as he ran his hands over his face.
“Alright, I’m worried about men hitting on you and touching you.”
“What if I make this a trial run? I’ll go, and if I feel uncomfortable, or if men won’t leave me alone, then I’ll leave.”
“OK, that sounds fine,” Brett said with a sigh and a weary look.
“That wasn’t convincing. What else are you worried about?”
“I know you love me, but I’m worried you’ll have too much to drink, and you might allow something to happen like the times I’ve intervened.”
“I didn’t have a boyfriend then. I love you, and I wouldn’t do anything to screw this up. I wouldn’t drink at all, but my friends will be on my last nerve if I don’t drink with them, so I’ll only have one or two, and I’ll drink them slowly. I don’t know what the right answer is to this, so I won’t go if it’s going to upset you that much.”
“I can’t tell you not to go. I’m not going to be a controlling boyfriend, but will you promise to call me if there’s a single problem?”
“I promise.”
Brett cupped her face and gave her a pillow soft kiss on the lips. “I really screwed up not giving into you sooner. I had no idea you’d be so mature and understanding.”
“You’re beyond sexy when you say sweet things like that, so I think I need to stay here for a while and reward you for being such an awesome boyfriend.”
“You’re turning me on. What did you have in mind?” Brett began kissing her neck.
She pulled away. “I think I need another summer school lesson.”
He watched her intense gaze as her expression turned serious. She ran her finger right along the inside of the top of his athletic shorts.
“I think my mouth needs to taste a new flavor.”
The cocktail of salacious, devilish desire ran rampant through his veins from hearing her erotic words. He closed his eyes and let out a deep breath.
“No, Hannah. Everything’s cool with you going out. You didn’t do anything wrong, so you don’t need to feel like you have to make anything up to me.”
“I’m really growing tired of you saying ‘No, Hannah’. I don’t feel obligated. This is me wanting to violate you,” she said, giggling. “If you don’t let me, then I’m going to tell your friends all about it.”
“You wouldn’t dare.”
Hannah yelled. “Brett won’t let me give him a—”
He covered her mouth and rolled on top of her, shaking his head and smiling. “You are in so much trouble.” He moved his hand and thrust his tongue into her mouth, kissing her hard with all the pent up lust flooding out.
She kissed him back for several minutes until she weaseled her body out from under his and started pulling down his athletic shorts.
“Shit, Hannah,” he said groaning. “I’m really loving this side of you.”
***
Hannah lay curled up against him with her head on his chest.
“That was mind blowing, baby.”
“Good, and maybe now I won’t hear ‘No, Hannah’ again.”
“I don’t deserve you.”
“Enough of that shit, too.”
“I just remembered that I should be spanking your bottom for screaming that out in this house, and you’re in big trouble if they heard you.”
“Oooh spankings. Is that the next lesson?”
“Girl, you make me want to do all kinds of bad things to you.” Brett squeezed her tight against his chest.
“Unfortunately, it’ll have to wait. I better get home.”
As soon as their feet touched the family room Dylan smiled.
“What won’t you let Hannah give you, Brett?”
“Oh, baby, that’s it!” Brett grabbed Hannah and laid her on the floor, tickling her until she was crying.
“Stop! I can’t take it,” she said breathless, holding her stomach. Brett was straddling her and leaned down to give her a kiss. After helping her up from the tickling frenzy he walked her to her car.
“Please text me when you get home.”
“I will. I love you.”
“I love you, too, Hannah Ray.”
***
Hannah noticed the black car following her again as she drove home. It finally disappeared when she turned onto her road, so as she entered the gate, she told the night guard not to let anyone in besides Brett without calling her personally. She’d never been followed that much at night, and with her parents away it was starting to scare her.
Brett’s phone buzzed: I made it home, but would it be too much trouble for you to come stay here tonight?
Brett: No, but something’s wrong. You didn’t plan on me staying.
Hannah: Someone followed me to your house and back home. I’d just feel safer with you here tonight.
Brett: I’ll be right over, and I’m pissed at whoever’s doing this!
Hannah let Brett in the house. She could see he was pissed from his red face.
“Are you OK?” he asked.
“Yes, nothing else happened.”
“What does Hudson want to do about it?”
“I didn’t tell him. He leaves for vacation in a few days, and I’m afraid he’ll cancel if I tell him. I’ll talk to him about it when he gets back if it keeps on happening.”
“Hannah, do you remember the conversation we had earlier in the week about putting your needs first? It’s his job, so he needs to know. Then he can decide if he should go on vacation.”
“No, I don’t think it warrants telling him. I told the night guard not to let anyone in without calling me personally.”
“Please tell him. If you weren’t worried, then you wouldn’t have had me come stay.”
“That’s not true. Maybe I wanted you to stay.” She wrapped her arms around his waist and buried her head against his chest.
“You need to tell him tomorrow, shortcake, or maybe I should start calling you stubborn.”
Chapter Twenty-Two
Brett arrived at Hannah’s to drive her to The Stables. He walked into her room and found her fixing her hair. The tight jeans, cowboy boots and hot pink tank top she was wearing got his heart rate up.
“Hey, babe,” Hannah said before she gave Brett a slow, sultry kiss.
“You look great, and if you kiss me like that again, I may have to change my mind about you going out. Could you try to make yourself look a little less gorgeous?”
“Maybe you taking us isn’t a good idea.”
Brett fell back onto Hannah’s bed and stared at the ceiling.
I have to stop looking at her. She looks gorgeous tonight, and I hate that oth
er men are going to be after her.
“I’m sorry. I’ll shut up. I would really like to take you and pick you up, but if you don’t want me to, I’ll let Hudson.”
“I don’t mind, but I don’t want this to be harder on you than it has to be.”
“I think it’ll be harder if I’m not the one making sure you get home safe. My friends are staying home tonight to keep me distracted. They think I’ll lose it and go looking for you. Am I really that bad?”
“Yes, you’re pretty protective of me, but I think it’s sweet.”
Brett sat up in the bed and watched Hannah as she messed with her hair in front of a mirror.
“I can’t help it. I love you, and I don’t want to lose you,” he said.
Hannah walked to her bed and put her arms around his neck. He wrapped his arms around her hips, pulling her in against him.
“You’re the only man I want, and no one is going to change that.”
***
Brett drove Hannah’s Land Rover and picked up all her friends before he dropped them at the door of the bar. He tried to perk up. As much as he loathed leaving his girlfriend with a bunch of sex hungry males, he knew she really enjoyed going out dancing with her friends and didn’t want her to feel any guilt.
“Bye, baby. Have fun, and call me when you’re ready to leave,” he said, giving her one last kiss. “Now that I feel protective over all of you women, please don’t cause me to have to come down here and kick someone’s ass.” He pointed to the girls. “And you better keep my baby safe.”
“Don’t worry, the last thing we want is you dragging her out over your shoulder again,” Jasmine said, laughing.
Brett drove back to his house and hung out with his friends. They played video games while he sat and stewed. He couldn’t stop worrying about Hannah and kept picturing men trying to touch her. He was counting down the hours.
***
The girls bought drinks at the bar and made their way onto the dance floor. Hannah had fun dancing with her friends, but as more people showed up, she started having to tell men to leave her alone. She really felt uncomfortable after her friends ditched her a few times to dance with guys, so she decided to go buy her second drink.
A group of men in their mid-twenties approached her when she was at the bar.
“Hi, are you Lorna Ray Mason’s daughter?” one of them asked, smiling.
“Yes, but I have my own name, and it’s Hannah,” she said wryly.
“She’s feisty, I like that. How about a dance, Hannah?”
“No, but thank you.”
“Do you have a boyfriend or something?”
“Yes I do, and he wouldn’t appreciate me dancing with someone other than him.”
“Is he here tonight?”
Does he have a clue what the word ‘no’ means?
“No, but that doesn’t change a damn thing,” Hannah said with irritation.
“Wow, is your momma as big a bitch as you are?” he asked, laughing with his buddies.
“She is when assholes like you hit on her. Is your mom as big a bitch as you are?” she asked, glaring before walking away.
His friends laughed and pointed at him.
“Ooh, she shot you down,” one of the men said.
Hannah went straight to the dance floor to find Chelsea. All three of the girls were dancing to a fast song when she approached them.
“I can’t do this,” Hannah yelled into Chelsea’s ear.
“Do what?”
“I can’t be here without Brett. Guys are hitting on me more than usual,” she yelled over the blaring sound of the music.
“No, you’re just noticing more tonight because you don’t want their attention, and I’m feeling the same way,” Chelsea yelled back.
“I don’t want to leave yet. I’m having fun,” Jasmine said.
“You don’t have to leave, but I’m having Brett come here. I’ll tell him to come by himself.”
“I don’t care if the guys come, do you Morgan?” Chelsea asked.
“No, I’d prefer it if Matt was here.”
Hannah went and stood against a wall, grinning when she thought of how happy Brett would be to hear from her.
Brett’s phone buzzed: Hi, I don’t know if you remember me, but I saw you last month at The Stables. Actually, we made out a couple of times. I had on a red shirt and black boots. You might remember my cute little ass in tight jeans.
Brett read the text. “I have the hottest fucking girlfriend ever,” he said aloud.
“Are you two sexting now, douche bag?” Dylan asked.
“I hope that’s where this is headed.” Brett smiled as he typed his reply.
Brett: Oh yes, I remember you and your cute little ass. You were smokin’ hot with gorgeous hair and a tight body.
Hannah grinned and became excited as she read his response.
Hannah: That would be me. I’m at The Stables now, and there are not any guys here as hot as you. It’s a shame you’re not here. I’d love to see those smoldering blue eyes and those sexy biceps I remember.
Brett: Now you have me fantasizing about your sweet mouth. I remember how good it tasted from some fruity drink you were sipping on. You know, the one that obviously got you all turned on.
Hannah: You would be incorrect. Your dick hard and pressed against my body got me all hot and bothered. I think if you’re not busy, you should come down here and see me. My sweet mouth is in need of some attention. Oh, and if you have any friends that’d like to meet some hot chicks, I know a few.
“I’m going to take her right there in the bar if she doesn’t stop this shit. Guys, Hannah asked us to come to The Stables, so I’m leaving in ten minutes.”
Brett sent his last text to Hannah: Be prepared—my hands will soon be all over your cute little ass.
She waited at a spot she found near where he was standing when she asked him to dance the first time she saw him at the bar. Butterflies fluttered in her stomach as the anticipation of his touch mounted and radiated around her like she was meeting him for the first time.
Her eyes fixated on his as he crossed the bar with ferocity. All playfulness was lost as lust and desire seized their space. She knew his onslaught would be sexual and shameless, and she didn’t care who witnessed.
One hand enveloped a thick section of the back of Hannah’s lustrous hair as the other went straight to her ass, groping and squeezing it through her jeans, pushing her curvaceous torso against his hardness. Inches from her velvet face he sucked in her supple bottom lip, slowly releasing it before whispering in her ear.
“I want you, and I’ll have you tonight. I thought of taking you in the car or in this bar, but I want you spread across a bed, so I can taunt and tease you the way you’ve done to me tonight.
“I want to watch you writhe from the pleasure I’m giving you as I lick every inch of your sweet tasting body, especially the warm—wet—juicy—spots.”
Hannah trembled from his hypnotic words and fiery breath as a throbbing urge for him mauled her from inside, wanting its release. She grabbed his head, pulling his mouth to hers and invaded it with her tongue as their lust crashed against each other.
The night was being branded in their minds forever as tongues memorized tastes and hands slid along curves until both bodies were ready to unravel. Hannah pulled away abruptly, breathless from desire.
“I can’t take anymore ... you win,” she whispered in his ear.
A smile curved on his mouth as he whispered back.
“Baby, this isn’t a contest, but the way I see it, you’ve been ahead from the beginning. I’m nothing now without you.”
Hannah gazed up at him with love and longing until her trance was broken from the noise she heard over the loud music. Half of the bar was clapping at their scorching, spellbinding, public display of affection.
They didn’t need to look around. It was obvious who it was directed at. They started laughing as Brett pulled her into a tight hug, kissing the top of her he
ad.
“Oh no, Dylan’s coming this way. I bet he’ll have some shit to say about this,” he said.
“Damn, that was hot, and just so you know, I’m living vicariously through the two of you. I hope you don’t mind sharing,” Dylan said, smirking.
Brett stuck one arm out while still holding Hannah close and pushed Dylan away.
“Fine, I’ll go find my own chick,” Dylan said before he walked away.
Brett gazed down at Hannah. “So, what brought me here tonight besides your hot texts?”
“After a while it didn’t feel right. It was OK at first, but as guys became drunker they started trying to dance with the girls and me. I promise I handled it quickly.”
“I believe you, but I still don’t like it. You have no idea how happy I am to know you want me here. Your texts got me so turned on.”
“You made that pretty clear. They turned me on, too.” She gazed up at him, wishing he could pleasure her on the spot.
“I made the guys drive separately. I had a feeling I’d want to take you back to your place where we have more privacy.”
“That sounds good to me, but it’s not like being at your house has stopped us yet,” she said sheepishly.
“I plan to make you moan loudly tonight, Hannah, so I think your place would be more fitting.”
She took in his hungry stare before she glanced away and saw Dylan walking their way again.
“Here comes Dylan.”
“What’s he doing now? I know he wants you, and it isn’t funny anymore.”
Hannah cupped Brett’s face.
“Hey, look at me. He’s just playing around. You know what a goofball he is. I’ve spent enough time around him to tell that he wouldn’t do anything to mess up your friendship. It’s just his thing with us because he’s envious. I think he’s ready for a relationship of his own.”
Dylan walked up to them. “I think Matt and Austin are ready to get Morgan and Chelsea back to the house, so Cody and I will take Jasmine with us. I think Cody’s starting to have a thing for Jasmine.”
