  “Oh, Thomas!”

He watched as she came down. “You’re beautiful in the throes of passion.”

Her body slackened as he made his way back up with his dick resting against her leg. “Do you need a minute?” she asked.

“Yes, your mouth will jack me up quickly, and I want us to use at least three positions.” Thomas slid a hand across her breasts.

“Mmm,” she said as she turned toward him. In this position, they were touching from chest to mid-thigh until he felt he’d regained enough control of himself.

“I’m ready for you, honey.” He closed his eyes as Cat kissed his neck then moved toward his chest. She flicked his nipple with her tongue then sucked it. Just as she released the nipple, her teeth grazed it before she kissed her way to the other side. With his eyes closed, he felt her movements deeper in his mind and body, so he used his deep control breathing techniques to ward off his impending orgasm.

Just as he’d done to her, Cat licked the rim of his navel and penetrated it with her tongue. When she finished, she kissed her way to his groin. He took a deep breath preparing for her to touch his dick, but she bypassed it and kissed her way down his leg.

“Grr,” quietly left his mouth, and she giggled. “Cat,” he groaned in warning.

She moved between his legs and took one of his testicles into her mouth and gently sucked.

  “Ahh…”

She moved to the other and did the same thing. When he looked at her, liquid was seeping out of his slit, so he redirected his thoughts because controlled breathing wasn’t cutting it. He closed his eyes and thought of Medical school. Tests and labs, definitely not my gynecology rotation. That brought him back from the edge.

When Cat finally touched his cock, his eyes flew back open. There was no way he was going to miss the sight of her taking him into her mouth. She wrapped her hand around his shaft and squeezed. A breath hissed through his gritted teeth and his eyes focused on her mouth. Fuck! She licked the underneath from the base of his shaft up to the head, but she didn’t take it any further. It was a tease, and she knew he was on edge.

Slow breath in, slow breath out.

As soon as she closed her mouth around him, his eyes rolled into the back of his head. She moved up and down his cock, sucking as she went. She was moving back up when he caught her head.

“That’s enough. Blow cool air on him.”

She did as he requested before he pulled her to him. He rolled her onto her back and kissed her with all the passion that’d been building in him all day. When he broke the kiss, he reached for the glass of water. He sipped then gave it to Cat to do the same. Once he’d set it on the table, he sat Indian style on the bed and held his hand to her. He helped her ease onto his cock with her legs wrapped around him. They locked their gaze on each other but didn’t move as she matched her breathing to his once again.

Once they were in sync, she moved her hips in a circle and moaned, “Oh, Thomas.”

He rubbed her back as she pulled herself flush with his chest. The heat radiating off them was an inferno. “Eyes, Cat. I need to see your eyes.”

She pulled back so they could look into each other’s eyes. They rolled their hips, and she shivered. She slid back so they had better access to rub each other’s chest and pinch their nipples. Cat arched her back while Thomas groaned from the sensation and vision in front of him.

“You know how I want to connect before I give you my seed. Let’s change.”

When Cat slid from Thomas, she whimpered. Once they were apart, he rolled on the condom and sat with his ass on his heels and knees slightly spread. Cat was on all fours in front of him while he rubbed lube over his cock and on her tight hole. Her body clenched with its natural reflex.

“Relax, Cat. You know what to do. Push out and rock back. I’ll guide you.”

“I know, but it’s been awhile.”

He rubbed from the top of her spine down her back to her ass while he leaned over and kissed the dimples at the base of her spine. She eased back toward him, and he guided her onto him. They both let out the breath they were holding.

“Fuck,” he whispered as he pulled her the rest of the way toward him.

  “Ohhh.”

He reached around and cupped her breasts as kneaded them. “Do you feel me, Cat? Do you like that stretch?”

  “Yes. Oh, yes,” she moaned.

“Rock forward, honey.” He guided her forward then back again.

“Mmm,” she sighed heavily with the movement.

“I want you feeling me here for a few days. If I didn’t want to unload in your pussy, I’d finish right here.” He pulled her back to him as he reached around and rubbed her clit with one hand and played with a nipple with the other.

“Come for me, Cat. I need to feel you come with me here,” he whispered into her ear as he continued his manipulation of her body. When she screamed his name, he moved her forward and back once more. He kissed her shoulder before disengaging, and she rolled to her back. With a flick of his wrist, he discarded the condom and moved them into “the crab” position with Cat’s knees pulled up but spread wide. Thomas stayed on his knees and entered her while their fingers entwined by Cat’s head. Like this, he could control the depth of his penetration.

“I can feel the heat of your cock all the way through me. It’s like the heat is radiating from within.” Cat’s eyes were locked on his.

“Yes. It’s hot with life. Tell me you want it, honey.” Thomas’s jaw was clenched as he held off his climax.

  “Oh, Thomas, please.”

Thomas moved faster to bring Cat to another orgasm. “Come on, Cat. I know you’ve got one more in you,” he said between thrusts. When she started to shake from her release, he finally filled her with his seed from an orgasm that lasted longer than normal causing his arms to give way and him to fall to his forearms. He was breathing heavily as he kissed her temple then rolled off. Binging her with him, he held her tightly to his chest, kissing the top of her head.

“Oh, honey, that was fantastic and worth the wait.” He wrapped his hand in her hair and pulled so she’d tilt her face to his for a kiss. “Are you still with me?” he asked before he let his lips touch hers.

“Yes. I’m relaxed from head to toe.”

A sated smile curved her lips. When he received the answer he was looking for, he kissed her with all the love he felt in his heart for this woman. His woman.

They lay there with him stroking her arm, and her stroking the side of his abdomen. “What are you thinking about?” he asked.

“Something that will kill the mood,” she sadly replied.

“We’re not talking about that today.” His tone was the one he used in the ER when he meant business.

“Not that.” She smiled against his chest, and he waited for her to continue. “Kayla would probably kill one of us if she ever knew what we did in the bedroom.” She giggled.

“It’s none of her damn business what we do behind closed doors because this doesn’t have to happen just in the bedroom.” He reached down and pinched her ass.

“Ow! I thought you were supposed to be worshipping my body.”

“Don’t bring my sister into our sex life.” He chuckled. “I don’t want to know what she and Mitchell do, and I sure as hell don’t want her knowing what we do. Plus, I’m a doctor. You know you’re safe with me.” He winked. “Do you want more food?”

“Yes, but I want to get cleaned up first.”

They got out of bed and went into the bathroom. Thomas picked up the condom and wrapper on his way. When Cat came out, she picked up her pink terry cloth robe, and Thomas slipped on a pair of tan lounging pants. They fixed one plate, curled up on the love seat in the den, and fed each other.

“Thank you for today.” He held a piece of chicken for her to bite.

“My pleasure. Pun intended by the way. I think we needed this. My mind had been going places it shouldn’t for the last couple of weeks.”

  “I’ve just
been on edge. Where did your mind go?”

She shook her head. “I thought maybe you’d found someone else, but we’re not talking about that today.”

He sat the plate on a table and turned to face her. “Catherine Livingston, you are it for me. Everything else we’ll figure out tomorrow.”

“I like that plan.” She snuggled back against his side.

They spent the rest of the night snuggling and touching—just being.

The blaring sound of Cat’s alarm clock the next morning had her crawling out of bed and heading to the bathroom to get ready for work. Her body was sore—the good kind of sore that let her know she’d had a fantastic weekend. She smiled to herself just thinking about what she and Thomas had done the day before. She hoped they’d make love tonight since it would be the last night they’d be together as he started a three-day rotation tomorrow night.

She stepped into the shower as tears stung her eyes. The more she thought about tonight, the more worried she became. She knew they’d have to talk and knew he may not be back for a while. With her head tilted under the water and eyes closed, she didn’t see Thomas join her but felt his arms wrap around her. “Please let the shower hide my tears,” she thought.

After gaining composure of her emotions, she opened her eyes to the man who held her heart. “You’re up early. I thought you’d want to sleep in.”

“I wanted to see you before you left for work. I’ll take a nap later.” He placed a soft kiss on her lips. “Give me the soap. Let me wash your body while you finish your hair.”

Cat gave him the soap. “Hmm, I think I could get used to this.”

Thomas flashed his sexy smile at her, and her heart skipped a beat. This man had her so wrapped around his finger it wasn’t funny.

As she rinsed her hair, he made quick time washing his body. He was finished before she’d gotten all the conditioner out of her hair. “I’ll get the coffee started until you get done.” He gave her a quick kiss and stepped out of the shower.

She hurried through her morning routine and was dressed in a smart dark blue pencil skirt and white blouse when she walked into the kitchen. Before she could set her matching jacket over the back of a chair, Thomas turned with a cup of coffee already made.

“Bacon should be done in a minute,” he said as he handed her a plate. “Here’s your egg and toast.”

“Thank you.” An appreciative smile lit up her face. Thomas placed some bacon on her plate before he sat across from her as she ate. “You aren’t eating?”

“I’ll get something later. I just wanted you to have a good breakfast before you headed out. What time will you get off work tonight?”

  “I don’t know, why?”

“Can you be home by six thirty?”

“As far as I know right now. Do you have plans?”

“Yes, I have plans to have dinner waiting for you when you get home and for us to talk.” His no-nonsense tone put her on edge.

“Oh, I see. Well, in that case, I’ll do my best.” Her gaze dropped to her plate. She felt as if she should be gearing up for a fight when she got home, and she didn’t want to fight. She wanted him to understand her point of view, but was she willing to try to understand his?

“This is important, Cat. Please leave work on time.” He squeezed her hand for emphasis.

She nodded. “I know.” When she looked back at his eyes, she felt the tears welling. “I will.” She pulled her hand from his and took her dishes to the sink. “Thank you for breakfast.” She wouldn’t look at him as she hurried to get her things together for work. As she was putting her purse on her shoulder, he stopped her.

  “Cat, why the tears?”

She shrugged. “I don’t know. We’ve never had an argument. I don’t know how to do this or what it means. I’m nervous.” When she tried to turn her face away from him, he guided it back to his. “I’m scared you’re going to leave.” There, she’d said it.

“Honey, it’s normal for people to disagree. It’s how we handle the disagreement that makes the difference.” He kissed her forehead. “I’ll be here when you get home.”

He released her, and she left for work.

The day had flown by. She had finished most everything that was on her “to do” list for the day and had one last account to look through. She closed her office door before she pulled up Redline Trucking Company. This was the account that made her stomach clench every time she had to clear the flags from the computer system. There wasn’t any one thing that looked suspicious, but if someone looked at the pattern in the account, there was something there.

She pulled out the notebook she’d started a few weeks back when this account kept showing up. The first tab on their account was typical account type information. Company name, address, type of account, and contact information. Norma R. Wells was the Chief Financial Officer at Redline. She was located in their main office in Birmingham, Alabama. Cat jotted down all the information.

The next tab was transaction information. Most of their transactions were direct deposits or ACH transactions. That looked normal for this type of business; however, there was a pattern to their cash deposits. They were always made from another state, and no local deposit was ever made into the Riverton Crossing branch. The first week of the month it was in a small town in Alabama and between seven and eight thousand dollars. The second week it was in a rural town in Georgia. The third was Riverton Crossing, and the fourth was another remote town in North Carolina.

As Cat scrolled through the transactions, she noticed that the first time a deposit was made into the Redline account from Riverton Crossing was three years ago, and was deposited into a branch in Alabama, but not the branch their main office used. It was about the same time Scott Jones came to work at the Riverton Crossing branch. Cat scribbled that information down too.

The final tab was internal information. She learned the commercial checking account was opened in an Alabama branch that isn’t close to Redline’s home office by Scott Jones eight years ago, the same branch where the cash deposits were made. Scott Jones was still employed by United Southeastern Bank (USB) holding the position of Senior Vice President of Security Operations, and the bank officer assigned to this account. She was staring at her screen when she heard a knock at the door. Cat startled and scrambled to put her notebook in her top desk drawer.

  “Come in.”

“Catherine, it’s almost six. Why are you still here?”

Cat barely had time to change tabs on the account before Mr. Jones was inches from her desk. “Redline was flagged in the system again. I was just looking at the account.”

“That’s what I came to discuss with you.” He held up a piece of paper. “I saw the report you filed and thought we could take a look at the account together.”

Cat pointed out the cash transactions each week to the same location as well as almost the same dollar amounts each time. Mr. Jones leaned over Cat’s shoulder and looked closer to the screen. “Well, I’ll be. Good job, Ms. Livingston. Thank you for showing me. I’ll follow up and notify the proper personnel.” He looked at his watch. “I’ve got a call to make. You did well today. Go home and relax.”

Cat looked at the time on her computer. “Oh, I do need to scoot. Thank you, Mr. Jones.”

After Mr. Jones walked out of her office, she shut down her computer and gathered her things. He was in his office when she walked toward the stairs. She dug in her purse as she reached the second floor, she couldn’t find her keys and remembered she’d left them on her desk, so she ran back up and quietly walked to her office when she heard, “Norma, I told you to change the deposits. I’ve got a new girl who’s picked up on them.”

  Cat froze.

“No, she’s not going to be a problem. I’m going to make sure I know every time she accesses Redline’s account. If it’s too often, I’ll know and deal with her then.”

Cat quickly retrieved her keys and notebook. She was leaving again when Mr. Jones turned th
e corner.

His eyes widened with a look of surprise. “Ms. Livingston, I thought you were gone.”

Cat held up her keys. “I forgot my keys. See ya tomorrow, Mr. Jones.” She hurried down the steps and called Thomas as she walked to her car. “I’m on my way. I’ll be there in ten minutes.” The feeling of being watched washed over her. When she looked up through her windshield, Mr. Jones was watching her from the third story window.

  This is not good.

All the way home she wondered how much she was going to tell Thomas. He was already pissed that she was considering Evan’s proposal, but this could drive him over the edge. If she was already in danger, then reporting what she knew couldn’t be any worse, but somehow, she didn’t think Thomas would see it that way.

As Cat drove from the bank, the stress of one situation gave way to another. By the time she drove into her driveway, she no longer was worried about Mr. Jones, but what was ahead of her. When she walked into the kitchen, the aroma was wonderful. She pasted a smile on her face so Thomas wouldn’t worry.

“Mmm, something smells good in here.” She kissed his cheek. “Let me change so I can help,” she said over her shoulder as she walked toward her bedroom.

“Everything is done. I was just opening the wine. Need any help with your zipper?” The playful tone of his voice helped to put her at ease.

Cat laughed as she yelled back to the kitchen, “It’s a skirt, not a dress.”

“I can help with that too.” He followed her to her room with a glass of wine that he set on the dresser. He walked up behind her and unfastened the button of her skirt and slid the zipper down.

“You sounded a little flustered when you called. Is everything alright?” he asked.

Cat heard the concern in his voice and took a deep breath. She narrowed her eyes in question. “How calm are you going to stay during our discussion?”

“I was planning on staying fairly calm, but now I don’t know if I’ll be able to.” His hands rested on her hips. “I thought we were talking about what Evan asked Saturday night. Did something happen at work?”
