The Gift of Three Page 11

by Kaitlin Maitland, Allie Quinn,

Maggie had never had a one-morning stand and wasn’t certain what to do now. The last thing she wanted after such an extraordinary experience was to overstay her welcome. Her legs felt like Christmas morning jelly, but she forced herself to roll over and get on all fours.

A sudden, overwhelming sense of embarrassment washed through her. She was completely naked while the two men with her were in various states of undress. Heat simmered through her. There was no way she could cover herself, not with her blouse over there and her jeans several feet away in the other direction. Her bra and panties lay in between, peeking out from beneath Andrew’s pants.

Oh well, she had no choice but to tuck her awkwardness as far away as possible, snatch up her clothes, and…

Hell, she didn’t even know where the bathroom was.

“Where are you going?” Jake asked as she reached for and picked up her jeans and held them in front of her. “And why are you trying to cover those beautiful tits?”

“I thought you were done.” She knew Stan, after coming, had always been done. Hell, he’d never stayed more than five minutes after he came, much less the rest of the night in her bed.

Andrew sat up. His chest was broad and muscular and held a construction-worker tan despite it being late fall on the Carolina coast. He met her gaze. His brown eyes sparkled with naughtiness.

“We aren’t done. We still need to eat breakfast.”

“I thought this was breakfast.” She tried to make light of the fact that she still stood before them, attempting to hide herself with a bit of denim.

Both men rose to their feet, making her feel small and embarrassed. “Let us show you breakfast, Magpie.”

Did Jake just call her Magpie? Yes, he had. Before she could dwell on the term-of-endearment nickname he’d given her, he took her hand and led her to the sideboard. He ignored the fact that she held her jeans over her lovely tits. Before she could contemplate his next action, he easily lifted and set her on top of the sideboard. It was cool against her bare thighs.

He met her gaze, and his gaze warmed her. “Although we’d prefer you stay naked, because you’ve got one gorgeous body, if you need to cover it, we won’t argue with you.”

“Although,” Andrew added, “we will do our best to peek, just like we do with Christmas presents.”

  Maggie laughed.

“Let’s start with this.” Jake picked up a perfectly red strawberry and brought it to her lips.

Maggie eyed it. It was much too big to eat all at once. She took a bite. The sweet berry flavor filled her mouth, touched her senses. She felt the subtle brush of Jake’s thumb on her lip.

  “How’s that?” Jake asked.

  She chewed and swallowed. “Delicious.”

“Here, let me see.” Andrew stepped closer and kissed her, moving his tongue throughout her mouth and making her shiver but not from cold. “Yep, she’s right. It’s delicious.”

Jake popped the rest of the berry into his mouth and chewed. “I concur.” Then he kissed her, making love to her with his tongue as if trying to share the berry with her. He came up for air. “Here, let’s see if this one is just as tasty.” He picked up a plump red grape and held it to her mouth.

Maggie took it, nodding in satisfaction as rich, sweet grape pulp and juice filled her mouth. Never had any fruit tasted so erotically delicious before. She would never again be able to bite into a strawberry or a grape and not think about this moment.

Something cool slithered up her breast and over her nipple. She realized only then that she’d relaxed. The pair of jeans she’d been holding in front of herself and using as cover had fallen away and dropped to the floor as she lowered her hands, leaving her breasts bare. Andrew was intently moving a fresh berry over her skin as though he was drawing a picture. The cool berry caused her nipple to peak and harden again.

Then he warmed her by taking as much as he could of her breast into his mouth. He sucked, then licked, making her insides tighten. She leaned her head back and closed her eyes, lost in the tantalizing sensation his heat put inside her. Then his mouth was gone.

“These just might be the best strawberries we’ve ever had, Jake.”

Jake popped another into his mouth before he leaned down and sucked on her nipple for a moment, making her gasp. “I think you’re right.”

Then Andrew eased her knees apart and stepped between them. He gently grasped her hips and slid her to the edge of the sideboard. She couldn’t see him, though, because Jake took that moment to put another grape in her mouth. As she chewed and swallowed, she felt Andrew, his latex-covered cock hard and thick against her still-wet folds.

“Well, it didn’t take you long to recover,” she murmured, uncertain what to think. Stan’s quick romps before he’d left had never even remotely given her the idea of doing anything twice. Andrew just met her gaze with that naughty sparkle in his eyes.

Jake laughed. “He’s always been quick to come and quick to recover. I think it’s because he likes to come the first time in your mouth.”

“And that works?” A loud gasp left her. Andrew had buried his cock so suddenly and deeply within her, it almost stole her breath.

“Seems to for him.” Jake’s words came to her through the fog Andrew’s thrust had left her in.

She looked up and met Andrew’s gaze. His eyes and the action he was doing with his cock and his hips demanded her attention. In. Out. In deeper. Damn, he knew how to ride her. He knew just where to touch to set off sparks.

  Both men did.

Jake chose that moment to suck on her nipple and use his finger and thumb to play with the other one. A shiver passed through her at the erotic touch.

One man set a fire in her pussy.

The other set a fire in her breasts.

Together, both fires would soon consume her.

Because of how she was positioned reclining on the sideboard, Andrew was able to lean over Jake and put his lips against her own. He plunged his tongue inside her mouth and played with her tongue in a rhythm much like the one he’d used when he made love to her with his cock.

  She couldn’t breathe.

  She couldn’t think.

There was only pleasure cascading through her. She’d thought it couldn’t be better, couldn’t get any better, than their time on the floor. But it was.

Jake carefully bit her nipple, bringing pleasure, not pain. She shuddered as another orgasm grabbed her. This one was stronger and started from Jake’s lips on her breast and snaked all the way down to where it sent spasm after spasm to her pussy as Andrew’s cock worked its magic.

Andrew’s kiss took the scream that tried to escape her.

She turned her head and broke away from Andrew’s lips. “Oh…oh…please…oh…” was all she could manage to get out. She was certain they’d somehow been able to make her shatter into a million pieces.

“Please what? Continue?” Andrew’s voice was deep and raw with lust. “I will, since I’m not quite finished yet.”

With Andrew no longer kissing her, Jake took the opportunity to take her other breast into his mouth. The action set off more fires throughout her body and caused her insides to tighten, making her scream again. Now she understood what a harp string felt like when played by the right fingers!

Maggie closed her eyes, certain they’d somehow pulled her into a tempest from which she’d never have the strength to escape.

Andrew’s strong hand gently grasped her jaw; his fingers cupped her cheek. “Open your eyes.”

  Maggie did as he said.

“Look at me while I come inside you.”

She did and was lost in the endless darkness of his gaze as his groan filled the room and his fire filled her.

  Chapter Four

  Almost a week went by.

Not one waking moment passed without Maggie thinking about her time with Jake and Andrew. That had been unlike any Saturday morning she’d ever had. And the sex had been out-of-this-world fantastic. She was currently working at th
e new, not-yet-open mall in Donovan’s Cove. Putting up decorations here was taking longer because she had to start from scratch. There were no hooks where hooks were needed. There wasn’t an outlet where she needed to plug in lights, so changes needed to be made and things had to be added, causing everything to be more complicated and to take longer than it really should. What she thought would have looked good in the courtyard turned out to be way too big for the space, and she’d had to downsize and go with a different theme. She was glad she worked alone on this project so she didn’t have to pay travel expenses for her sometimes helpers.

Thinking about Jake and Andrew while she worked—with almost every breath—didn’t help.

Not seeing them didn’t help either.

She did get texts from both of them at various times during the day, telling her how busy they both were and how much they missed her and couldn’t wait until they could see her again. Through their texts about work, she’d learned all about things such as final inspections and fire codes and more mundane construction principles. She liked the personal messages better.

Jake’s texts were to the point—I can still taste you.

I can’t wait to unwind with you.

  I miss you.

Andrew’s texts were more sexual—What color panties are you wearing right now?

I wish my dick was in your mouth.

If I wasn’t so damned busy, I’d have lunch at the Y—your Y!

Texts from both left her hot and wanting. But since she understood they were busy, she didn’t ask to spend time with them. She had to let them do their jobs. And even though she didn’t get to see them, she knew they were both busy around the Donovan’s Cove Mall, working on getting it ready to open. She felt them. The mall’s grand opening was due in two hours. Maggie was striving like mad to finish with the last few decorations and make sure everything was ready. Hell, like Jake and Andrew, she’d skipped Thanksgiving yesterday. They would just have to make up for it by having turkey as soon as the rush was over.

Despite the texts she got from them, which told her they were thinking about her, she’d been sure that, at some point, either Jake or Andrew would have come by to see how she was doing, but neither of them did. In fact, she’d been dealing rather closely with Brent Hayes, the mall manager, who would be in charge once it opened and Jake and Andrew moved on to their next project. He’d been walking around the mall with a clipboard in his hand ever since she’d assembled the first Christmas tree. It was Brent who made sure she got her hooks hung and the outlets or extra extension cords she needed. Brent had even helped her carry in the one hundred poinsettias Jake had ordered. She hadn’t known what to do with them, and Brent had said the instructions were for her to put them where she thought they looked best.

She sighed. She knew both Andrew and Jake were busy with their own last-minute preparations before the big day, so she really couldn’t fault them all that much for ignoring her. But her ego was still new and fresh and easily bruised. She would have liked something more than a text. A quick kiss would have been nice. A quickie in a dark corner would have been better.

Since she hadn’t seen either of them since their Saturday lovefest, they were definitely both on the very naughty list.

Customers weren’t in the mall yet, although Maggie had heard people were waiting in line outside. However, managers and employees were there, putting the final touches on their own stores. Maggie had only been hired to decorate the mall, not the store windows or the stores themselves. Each store or chain was responsible for its own decorations. Given how fast a job this last-minute assignment had been, she was very glad for that.

Maggie flipped the switch for the lights, and the small forest of Christmas pines lit up. To decorate this new mall, she’d brought the outdoors in. It was a perfect complement to the rustic cabin-looking house where Santa would soon be seated. And although it wasn’t as vintage-looking as the decorations at the Boardwalk Mall where she’d decorated last week, the ornaments on the trees were simple, as she’d expect them to be if they were genuine outdoor ornaments. Paper lanterns, silver tinsel, fake stringed popcorn, paper chains, and lights that looked like stars gave a real down-to-earth feeling beside Santa’s log home and rocking chair.

The stars on the trees lit up the entire courtyard, as did the strategically placed fake candles that flickered like real flames.

A moment later, a subtle instrumental Christmas carol began to play over the mall speakers.

Maggie stood back and admired her work. She smiled.

She really wanted to hear Jake’s and Andrew’s takes on her decorating job, but neither of them was around. Yep, they were definitely on the naughty list. Oh well. They’d told her to decorate as she saw fit, and she’d done that. Very well, too, if she did say so herself.

She shrugged as a bone-deep weary sigh left her. She’d been putting in very late hours. She didn’t know which she wanted first—a shower, a nap, or—she checked her watch and noted the time—breakfast.

She thought of the breakfast she’d had with Andrew and Jake not quite a week ago. Nothing could ever top that. After Jake and Andrew had made love to her, then made her crazy again with want and need while feeding her strawberries and grapes and cheese cubes and making her come again, they’d directed her to a huge bathroom, where she’d showered. When she’d finished and come back out dressed, thinking they were finished, they had insisted again on serving her breakfast. In the lovely circular breakfast nook off their spacious kitchen, they had cooked scrambled eggs, biscuits, gravy, and sausage.

She still salivated, remembering how good everything had tasted. Andrew had told her they had a private chef. She hadn’t tasted anything that good in, well, in forever.

They’d promised her breakfast and had made good on their promise. Breakfast was, they’d parroted, the most important meal of the day.

She smiled, thinking of their comical expressions when they’d said that.

Then Jake had taken her back to her car at the mall.

Although there had been no promise of we’ll call you or how about more breakfast on Sunday, each had left her with a lingering, hot I-wish-for-more kiss.

While she didn’t feel dismissed and she understood they were busy—so was she—she did miss them and felt let down.

She’d thought when Jake had stopped her from climbing into her car with “You can still decorate the Donovan’s Cove Mall for us, right?” that that had signaled they still wanted to see her. That she would be spending more time with them. She’d said yes, of course, figuring she’d again see him and Andrew since they were currently working at that location.

  She shook her head.

The check had come from Elaine, Jake’s secretary, for the supplies she’d needed, and there had been no sign of Jake and Andrew.

Maggie stood for a long moment and looked at the Christmas decorations and the completed theme, thoroughly proud of her job. She was finished with the Donovan’s Cove Mall. She took a picture and sent it to her mom, then took a few more for her portfolio. She decided to do what she’d done for the past week, which was to have just a cup of her favorite coffee for breakfast. Lately, every breakfast time, she thought back to that day. Nothing she’d eaten since had been able to compete.

She headed over to Kell’s Coffee and Cookies to treat herself to her favorite cappuccino and maybe something from the breakfast line they featured. While it wasn’t gourmet food, a bagel with flavored cream cheese would be good.

Damn. She’s been so certain that, since Jake had hired her—and paid her handsomely—to decorate their newest mall, he must have liked something about her besides the great sex. Her eyes misted.

Well…he did like something, enough that he’d hired her to do some further work for him.

She told herself—again—they’re busy, just busy.

She needed to see them. If they had both enjoyed her so much, why hadn’t they come by? She’d just decorated the best scene she’d ever created; it wou
ld have been nice for at least one of them to have seen it and said something.

While the cookies in Kell’s were huge and filled with chocolate chunks—and were really good—the cinnamon rolls that looked bigger than softballs were to die for. She knew because there was a Kell’s at the other mall she’d decorated. And she’d been a frequent customer. Even though she hated thinking about eating anything sugary—every time she ate anything sweet now, Maggie remembered Andrew and how he’d call her “sweetheart”—she thought, what the hell. It would be delicious with her cappuccino, and it wasn’t biscuits and gravy. Besides, she’d spent so much time going up and down a ladder this past week, she could afford the calories.

She ordered and sat down as the first customers began pouring into the mall. Seeing the wonder and awe in their expressions as they took in the decorations she’d put up filled her with a tremendous sense of pride.

The cinnamon roll melted in her mouth.

The cappuccino heated her through and through.

While neither were as good as how Jake and Andrew tasted or warmed her, they both gave her a nice, toasty feeling.

Her phone buzzed with an incoming text.

Her heart skipped when she saw it was from Jake. For a moment, tingles of excitement and anxiety sparked through her. She wanted to read his text. At the same time, what if he was simply texting to say great job, see you next year?

That would not make for a Merry Christmas.

That would put him beyond the naughty list and on the prick list.

She took another drink of her smooth, creamy cappuccino before she looked at his text. Maggie was glad she hadn’t taken another bite of her roll. She might have choked.

Your decorations look spectacular. Thank you for a great job. They’re waiting for you in Northman’s. Pick out any lovely dress you’d like to wear to a Grand-Opening party tonight. Something red perhaps. It’s on me.

Maggie looked out the coffee-shop window and across the mall corridor to Northman’s, one of the best dress shops in the mall. She glanced around at the stores she could see, then up and down the corridors. Jake had to be watching her. How else would he know she’d finished with the decorations and was still in the mall?
