God is in the Rain Page 28

A few days later, Sophia stood at the top of the Capital steps overlooking the crowd of people. John, Clark and Gavin watched in their robes from a nearby courthouse. The roof slightly blocked out the sun. They sat in the shadows, watching Sophia speak. They knew they could take no position of power in the transitional government or any of the new governments for that matter. They knew their place was protecting the planet from all threats: foreign and domestic. Sophia addressed the crowd. She spoke to America, but was addressing the world. The citizens of all countries watched along, “Citizens of Earth, and leaders of the Old Republic. For too long, our planet has been occupied by a foreign power. They tried to take our value systems, destroy our traditions; our way of life. They manipulated us by editing the information we all knew. They stripped us of our natural rights, our basic liberties and access to the natural world. Worst of all, they attempted to remove our right to free thought, the most precious freedom that we possess. But they failed. We stood up to them. You stood up to them. Now, we stand here as a free people because you refused to accept tyranny. They took everything from you. They took your families, your freedom, and everything you knew about free thought. But there was something they could not take. You looked deep inside yourself and found the principles of natural law are inside every single one of you. You found it because it is engraved on your soul because you are part of the Earth’s living ecosystem. You were all so brave. We mourn for those we lost in the war against the One State. They will live forever in the monument we construct for them. They died so that we can all stand here free today. Today, we will begin the transition away from a one world government and restore the Old Republics. The leaders of the Old Republics have signed the Treaty of Gaia which will redraw the boundaries before the occupation of the One State. We will work to recreate the knowledge of humanity in a balanced way, unedited by the unclean hands of a corrupt government. The natural balance of power and nature will be restored to the planet. American will once again be governed by the rule of law: by the Constitution. We will create a new world where government truly works for the people and the petty ideological differences of the past will no longer divide us. Long live the Republics!”

“Our work here is done,” John said. “We must continue to train new members; scatter newly trained Knights of the Living Earth throughout the plant to watch over our home.” John added. “We will,” Gavin said. “We will,” said Clark. Suddenly, a carrier pigeon fluttered its wings and landed on John’s arm. It stuck its little leg out, signaling that it had a message. John wondered where it came from. He took the tiny note from its leg and read it. It gave him instructions to come alone to a strange location in the forest. John left and quickly traveled to the location. He climbed through a thicket of trees. The trees became denser. He cut through them with his matter sword. He pulled a set of trees apart. And he walked down a narrow passage carved out in the trees. He came to a gigantic cave in the wilderness. A gust of wind blew in a tiny note near his feet, the same size as the kind that the pigeons carried. He opened it up. It read, “E=MC2.” He walked forward. The tunnel became brighter. Suddenly, he found himself in a gigantic oasis carved out in nature with a gigantic pile of tiny notes. There could have been trillions of notes with writing on them. They appear to contain a large portion of human knowledge. Thousands of pigeons were flying above them. Thousands were resting on the branches above the pile. John rustled through more the papers, finding the most all the most crucial information to mankind. He could not believe it. He had no idea how they got there. What he did know is that for a moment, he thought God had abandoned him. But that was never the case. God was always inside him. God is in the moral principles that unite all the holy books. God spoke to him through the natural rights of mankind. God is in the Earth. God is in the fabric of universe with connects all of the cosmos and God is in the Rain.
