Fighting Desire (Bay State Series Book 2) Page 7

by Hachey, Tiffany

I let go of her hair to cover her mouth, effectively muffling her high pitch yelps as I piston in and out with hard, quick thrusts. With one hand occupied keeping her quiet I slip the other under her body and twist her nipple between my fingers. I feel her clenching on me, milking me for my finish.

“I'm gonna cum baby, cum so hard on your cock.” She screams into my hand.

Watching her ass slam onto my hips and my cock stretching her pretty pink pussy makes me burst with my biggest load yet. I feel her contract around me a few more times as I slip from her depths. I bend forward and move my hand to join the other on her chest and cradle her to me as our breathing slows to normal. “I love you so much,” I whisper while kissing my way to her lips.

She makes love to me with her mouth. Coming up for air she tells me the one thing I'll never get sick of hearing. “I love you too. Always.”

If I wasn't already in love with her I am now. From this day forward I will be the best me I can be. Just for her. Only her.

  *****

The rest of the week went pretty much the same. I would send her out of my office pleasantly disheveled. Hair hanging loose from its original style. Cheeks a rosy pink. She looks so sexy with her just fucked appearance. And I'm the lucky son of a bitch that gets to make her that way.

A knock on my door pulls me from my reminiscing. “Hey you got a second?” Braydon asks, poking his head around my door that's already ajar.

“Yeah, I was just getting ready to take off. What's up?” I continue to tidy my desk for the weekend as he comes and takes a seat across from me.

“Just checking to see how things have been this week? I haven't seen much of you to catch up.” Something's on his mind. I can tell by his body language. Foot propped on his ankle and a finger to his chin, deep in thought.

“Things are great. Really. Just trying to make up for lost time with Sarah. We're heading to Leominster in the morning to visit her parents and brother. My nerves are pretty shot over it but I'll live.” I laugh trying to lighten up his sober expression. “Is everything okay with you and Ilyanna?” I ask. He doesn't seem to be acting like himself today.

He lets out a long breath and hunches over, resting his elbows on his knees, holding his face in his hands. “I'm worried about her and the baby. She says she feels better but I don't know man, I just have this bad feeling in my gut. I think I'm going to take some time away from the office and stay home with her. She's all I think about while I'm here and I can't get shit done.” And here I thought I had done something to provoke his mood.

I know she means everything to him. I can't even imagine being in his shoes right now. I look closely, taking in his appearance. His hair's a mess and if the dark circles under his eyes are any indication he hasn't been getting much sleep. “What do you need me to do? Just name it.” I ask getting up from my desk and walking towards my door. “Let's go get a drink and come up with a plan. I have a couple hours to spare before I have to get home and pack a bag. Let me just text Sarah and let her know. We took her car this morning. Can you swing me by my place after?” I type her a quick message letting her know I'll see her in a couple of hours. Her reply was short but sweet with a little kissy face.

“Yeah a drink sounds good.” He follows me into the hall and we head out to the garage. “I feel like shit.” He tells me as we get into his new truck. He chuckles and puts his sunglasses on before pulling out onto the busy street.

“Well I wasn't gonna mention it but yup, I agree. I knew something was eating at you.”

“Gee thanks.” He quips, bringing the truck to a stop outside of our favorite bar. Which lucky for us is just right up the street from the office. So close we could have walked. “Thanks again for this. I hate to dump all of this on you but until John gets home from his honeymoon your the only one I trust enough to handle things. I can still take care of most of it from home, but I need a pair of eyes watching things on the inside.”

We continue to discuss work and I continue to feel more and more nervous with every new task he enlists to me. I know he's just a phone call away, and I also know I'm just some twenty three year old kid with hardly any experience. I take comfort in the fact that John will be home in a little over a week to take over the reigns. It's that fact that makes me agree to do this for him. It's the least I can do. Poor guy's going crazy. I know I would be if it was Sarah.

  *****

The drive to Sarah's hometown of Leominster wasn't as long as I expected it to be. Once we were on Rt. 2 it was one straight shot. The hotel we're staying at is right off the highway and her parents house is just a short five minute drive from there.

I can't stop wiping my sweaty palms on my pantlegs and Sarah senses my discomfort. “Really Brent, everything will be fine, they'll love you. Luke's sixteen, we'll most likely see him at dinner then he'll be back in his room. My mom says that's all he does lately now that he's feeling better. He's been too weak for sports.” Her face slips into a frown and I can't fathom what must be going through her mind. I do know I'm going to bend over backwards to try to keep that expression from residing there as much as I can.

“It's not Luke I'm worried about or your mother. Now your father, I would like to have all my limbs when we leave.” That puts a smile back on her face as she slaps my arm.

“Oh come on wimpy, let's get this over with. If your a good boy you'll get a surprise later.” She gives me a wink and practically has to drag me from the room.

She wasn't kidding when she said her parents were close. We literally took a left out of the parking lot, right at the next lights and a left into their driveway. They have a cute little two story cape style home set back from the road with a stone wall to the side of the driveway. A set of stairs going to the front door opens up from the bottom of the wall. It looks new and I ask Sarah about it. “How old is this wall?”

“Well my parents have owned this house for about twenty years give or take. I was little when we moved in and Luke wasn't born yet. The poor concrete wall that was here before started to crack. They put it off for a while but decided it needed to be done along with the siding. I think it's been almost eight years. They did it as soon as I graduated highschool, before Luke got sick. If they didn't have the loan out on the work they might have been able to pay for his hospital bills. Oh well, shit happens.” She shrugs and opens her door.

A dog starts to bark and I give her a questioning look. “You didn't tell me they had a dog.”

She shrugs again. “Yeah, sorry. That's Max. he's a boxer. Sweet as can be though, thinks he's a lap dog. He's only barking because he's excited to see me.” Taking me by the hand, she leads me up the steps and rings the doorbell.

A middle aged man answers the door, who I assume is her father. His eyes find mine briefly then he looks to Sarah, pulling her in for a hug. “Daddy, this is Brent. Brent meet my dad, Kevin Price.” He stands a good half a foot above my five foot eleven inches. Short cropped salt and pepper hair. Shrewd eyes look back at me through his glasses.

He takes my extended hand and to my surprise hauls me in for an even shorter awkward man hug. “Nice to meet you Brent. I trust you've been taking good care of my little girl.”

Taking a step back, I make sure I still have an available exit. If he only knew how it is excactly that I take care of her. The thought puts a smile on my face as I answer. “I sure am sir, your daughter means a great deal to me.”

“Let's hope it stays that way.” He says suddenly making me even more nervous than I already was.

“Daddy!” The look on her face is priceless as she faces her father. Fire in her eyes, hands on her hips. “Be nice.”

Kevin shakes his head and lets out a loud belly laugh. “I'm only teasing him Sarah. Let's go find your mother.” He turns and takes a couple of steps only to stop at the bottom of the stairs. “Luke. Sarah's here.” He yells in the direction of the second floor.

We don't have to go far to find her mother. As we cross the threshold into a spacious kitch
en and dining area I see a woman who looks to be slightly younger than her husband standing at the counter cutting vegetables. She stops her task and faces us. Smiling at us as she wipes her hands on a towel. “Sarah hon, it's so good to see you.” She rushes to her daughter, enveloping her in her arms. “And who's this handsome young man?” She still has one arm around Sarah's shoulder as she gives me a once over.

Sarah leaves her mother's side to come stand by mine. I silently thank her. Just having her touching me brings comfort to my fraying nerves. “Mom this is Brent. I've only told you about him a hundred times.” She laughs to break some of the tension I'm sure she feels radiating off of me. “Brent, This is my mom, Natalie Price.”

The sound of footsteps makes everyone turn their attention back into the livingroom as her brother Luke rounds the corner from the stairway. If I had to choose one word to describe the boy in front of me it would be tired. “So your dating my sister huh?” He's sizing me up. Good man.

“Hi, I'm Brent and yes I'm Sarah's boyfriend. You must be Luke?” I offer my hand for a shake and he takes it. I can feel his bones through his slack skin. I try to not show the emotion I'm feeling on my face.

“Yeah.” That's all he says as he releases my hand and walks to the fridge, taking out a mountain dew and heading back to the stairs. “I'll be in my room. Let me know when dinner's ready.” He throws over his shoulder before disapearing around the corner.

“I'm sorry about that.” Natalie apologizes and I just shake my head.

“No worries. I was a teenage boy once.”

“Let's head on into the sunroom. Kevin's about to fire up the grill. We can have a drink while we wait for the kabobs to cook.” Natalie gestures to the door right off of the kitchen and we follow her, taking seats at the bar in the corner. Kevin cracks a beer and heads outside to light the grill. He motions for me to join him and reluctantly I get up from my seat next to Sarah and head outside. Here we go.

“So, how did you meet my daughter?” He asks, never looking at me.

“She happened to be in the bar I stopped in one day for a beer after a run. We started talking and the rest is history.” I took a seat as soon as I came outside so his back is to me.

He turns to stare me down and I'd be lying if I said that I don't find him intimidating. “Okay, there's no easy way to go about this so I'm just going to come right out and say it. If you ever and I mean ever pull some shit on her again like not telling her you were married, well let's just say it's not going to pretty. My baby girl was a wreck. And a father will do whatever it takes to make it so she never feels that way again.” He turns away from me again and brushes something on the meat before closing the lid and taking a seat next to me.

Shit! Why didn't I think that they would know about that. We were dating for three months. I had to have known she talked to her parents. I can feel the beads of sweat forming on my forehead and I just want to run. “I swear. I would never do anything to ever hurt her again. I love your daughter sir. I want to marry her some day. What happened back in December was a really poor judgement call on my part.” I swallow hard and try to gauge his reaction to my explanation. “I've vowed to be the best I can for your daughter and that starts with honesty. I'll never let her down again and that's a promise I would write in my own blood.”

“Good.” Is all he says and gives my knee a quick pat before standing up. “I need another. You?” He asks holding up his beer can. I'm not stupid enough to believe that this is the last I'll hear about it from him.

  “Yes please. Thanks.”

Fuck. This is going to be a long weekend.

  Goodbyes

“What did you say to him Daddy? He looks sick.” He looks out at Brent and starts to laugh.

“Just a warning. I wanted to let him know I knew about what happened in December. I think he understands.” He heads back outside to join Brent and I want to follow. He must be so uncomfortable. I assured him everything would be fine and my father threatens him after fifteen minutes.

“Can you go let Max out please? I'm sure he's just dying to see you. I'm surprised he's stayed quiet this long.” She asks. I'm sure she doesn't want to get into the fact that I asked her not to tell my dad about what happened.

“Sure.” I say as I fling myself off of the chair with a huff.

“No need to be snappy. He's your father, he has a right to know about things that go on in your life.” I hear her say while I'm walking back into the house. I take a right out of the kitchen and pass the basement, bathroom and den doors, before finally reaching the room that was once mine at the end of the hall. I open the door and see that all of my old furniture is still in here. There's only one slight problem, every surface is littered with clutter. What if I ever needed to move back home? Max is sleeping on my bed looking so peaceful. I plop down on the mattress next to him and rub him behind his ear, waking him up. He barks a few times and crawls over my lap, barking some more and licking my face. “You wanna go meet Brent big boy? Be nice.” I stand up and slap my leg getting him to follow me as I take one last look at, in my opinion, way too much pink. I was and guess I still am their little princess.

When I make my way back to where my mom is, my dad and Brent have joined her. Max makes his way to Brent and barely sniffs him. He barks a few times making Brent's eyes go wide and he looks to me for help. “He wants you to pet him.” I tell him and join him on the sofa.

“I'm going to get Luke.” My dad informs us and leaves the room.

“So Brent, Sarah tells me you two work together. How's that going?” And here comes the third degree. I should have known better. I guess it's to be expected.

Luke sits quietly while we eat, never saying a word. He does look a lot better. Still not his best. Only time can remedy that. “How have been feeling buddy?” I ask to try and break his silence.

“Why does everyone have to treat me like I'm a damn baby? I have or had cancer, whatever. I can't stand being tiptoed around.” He growls, getting up from his seat. “I'm done.” This rather awkwardly makes me burst into tears. What the hell did I say?

Brent takes me in his arms and lets me cry while my dad storms after my brother. I don't know why I thought a visit was a good idea. We're disfunctional to say the least. Moving to Boston was the best decision I've ever made. “I'm ready to go.” I whisper into his shoulder. “Please get me out of this house.”

I stand to leave. My mother stands with me and tries to comfort me but it's just too much. “Please stay for a little while longer.” She pleads with me and all I can do is just shake my head. “Your so ungrateful. Every time Luke has an outburst you just have to turn it around and make it about you.” How quickly her mood changes when she doesn't get things her way. And she thinks I'm selfish.

I grab Brent's hand and tug at him to stand up and come with me. “It was nice meeting you Mrs. Price.” He says over his shoulder to my mom as I lead him out of the door off the sunroom to where he was with my dad earlier and bring him around the side of the house to the driveway. I can hear Max start to bark again from the commotion and I try to block it all out. Brent opens the passenger side for me and I slump into the seat. I can't stop crying as I tell him the few directions to take us back to the hotel. Part of me is mad at him for being polite as we left and the other although small part of me has respect for him being able to keep his cool. I sure as hell couldn't have if we stayed any longer.

“I'm so sorry. Ever since Luke got sick this is how it is with us. I understand they're under a lot of stress. Why does it have to be so tense whenever I step foot in that house. I wish it would go back to the way it was before.” I have no idea how long we sat in the car while I cried. I didn't want to be in this city anymore. I didn't care that we would lose money on the room. I just wanted to go home. “Take me home please, yours, mine, I don't care. Anywhere but here.”

“Baby you have no reason to apologize. Okay? And I will gladly take you home.” I have no recollection of conversation after that. All I
remember is waking up to him placing me on my bed and Fenway purring in my face as she rubbed against me. She has a way of knowing when I'm upset. I'm sure it has to do with the fact that when I first got her I was constantly crying. Brent held me in his arms as I once again cried myself to sleep. Why do goodbyes have to be so hard?

  *****

The sky this morning portrays my mood. Stormy gray clouds fill the heavens, blocking out what little sun there is. Brent's on his way back to Leominster. We realized this morning that we never got our bags from the hotel room. I had no desire to go back so I stayed here, deciding to meet up with Latasha for lunch instead.

“Why do you look like hell? I thought things were going good with you and Brent.” She asks as I take my seat at the table.

“Thanks, I love you too. We're doing great actually. It's my family. It's always so tense. We went to visit yesterday and Luke is bitter, my dad's an ass and my mom, well she just doesn't seem to see anything wrong with their behavior. It kills me and I wish I could erase what happened with Luke but I can't.” I stare out the windows, wishing the weather would change. Maybe that would help. I don't know. I do know I hate feeling like this. “Not sure what I was expecting. We all try to act like one big happy family and the smallest thing sets us off.”

“Girl you need to focus on the positive and give your family time. This is all so fresh. I'm sure it will get easier.”

“I hope your right. I hate the distance between us. I'm so happy he's doing better but it's shadowed with everyone's moods around each other.”

We don't talk much as we eat our lunch. Or I should say she eats while I play with my food. “You know what you need?” She asks, eyeing me as I push my salad around the bowl. “Some retail therapy followed up with the spa.” She didn't even give me a chance to answer.
