Bigger Fish To Fry!
Why ain’t nobody tell me that Byrd was out of jail? I have been so pre-occupied with other shit that I forgot to call up to the jail to check on him like I did each week. The nigga has been out for more than two weeks, but I haven’t heard a chirp out of his ass. It doesn’t matter though. I ain’t worried about that nigga. I put the word out in the streets that he had been in jail and that he snitched his way out. I have thrown so much salt on his name and ain’t nobody gonna’ fuck with him, but right now I have to push all that shit to the side. I am on my way up to Virginia. I have bigger fish to fry.
Come Back Home!
Me and Nicole were on our way back from Williamsburg when Sabrina called me and told me she was taking Saysha back to the emergency room. I called Maine and told him to meet me on Gramby Street so I didn’t have to take Nicole all the way back to the beach. Nicole asked me if I wanted her to come to the hospital with me, and I started to tell her about the last bitch Sabrina fucked up in the hospital but you’re not supposed to speak ill of the dead.
This will be the first time I have seen Sabrina since that night at the club because I couldn’t face her. I could tell by the look on her face that night that I hurt her feelings, and I kind of felt bad. I never really wanted Sabrina to move out. I just couldn’t get over the fact that she fucked another nigga behind my back. I was Sabrina’s first and I always thought I would be her last.
Ladies when you lie down on your back, spread your legs, and invite another nigga inside of you ain’t no coming back from that. You see a nigga can lie down, fuck, then go on about his business. Women don’t do that. I take that back because some females can, but the majority don’t. Byrd could have shot me dead where I stood, but he never turned his gun back on me. He wanted to protect Sabrina just as much as I did. That told me he felt something for her, and I could tell by those pictures Asia took of them together that Sabrina had feelings for the nigga, too. But I get it now. I take full responsibility for the part I played in fucking our relationship up. Now all I want is for my girls to come back home.
She Ain’t You!
I had just laid the baby down when Milk walked into the room. “What they say?”
I wiped my eyes before I turned around because I didn’t want him to know that I had been crying. “I’m still waiting for the doctor to come back.” I sat down in the chair. Milk walked over to the crib.
“This what you was talkin’ ‘bout…” he looked at me, “this thing on her neck?” I shook my head yes. The doctor walked in the room.
“I’m Dr. Johnson, how are you today?” He shook Milk’s hand.
“Milton.”
“So we have the x-rays back and it what the growth on the baby’s neck is called Hemangiomas.”
“What the hell is that?” Milk asked the doctor.
“Basically what has happened is the blood vessels in her neck have grown over top of one another,” he explained.
“How do you remove it?” I asked him
“Saysha is going to have to have surgery, but it will not be anything evasive. With the ad-vance in technology we are now able to laser off the growth. I have her scheduled for surgery on Thursday.”
“Do you know if she is in pain because of it?” I asked.
“The baby doesn’t even know it’s there,” the doctor answered. “The nurse will be in with instructions on what to do the night before the surgery, and after you will be able to take the baby home. Do you have any more questions?” He looked at Milk and then to me. I shook my head no. “Alright. You have a good evening.”
“Thanks, Dr. Johnson,” Milk said as he shook his hand again and the doctor left out of the room.
“You a’ight?” I got up and walked over to the crib without answering Milk. “Sabrina?” He walked over and stood beside me. I turned my head the other way. “Stop crying Sabrina. She gon’ be a’ight.”
“I should have taken her to the doctor sooner. I thought that was her birthmark.” I wiped my eyes. “Plus I was late getting pre-natal care… that might have caused this…”
“Sabrina this is not your fault.” Milk put his hand on my shoulder.
“Yes it is.” I put my hands over my face and Milk put his arms around me.
“Bae, don’t cry. She gon’ be a’ight.” I pulled away from Milk even though I really didn’t want too. “Sabrina, come here.” Milk put his arms around me again. I buried my face in his chest and cried some more.
“You and the baby come back to the house with me tonight.”
“Come back to the house for what?” I looked up at him.
“Cause I want you to.”
“What about Nicole?”
“What about her?” Milk leaned down closer to my face.
“That’s your girlfriend ain’t it?”
“No.”
“Well, what is she to you then,” I asked Milk.
“Nicole is a lot of things, but she ain’t you.”
Better Not Get Wet!
I told Sabrina to leave her car at the hospital and I would come back to get it tomorrow before I went outside to warm up the truck. I pulled around to the hospital entrance and then called her to come on. When I saw her walking out I got out of my truck to open the door. As I was walking around to the other side, I saw Nicole walking down the sidewalk towards me. Aww shit.
“Is everything alright?” Nicole asked me.
Sabrina didn’t say anything to me or Nicole. She walked past my truck towards the parking lot across the street.
“Go to the house Sabrina.” She didn’t respond and kept walking. “Nicole, whatchu’ doing here?”
“I came to check on you. You never called me back to tell me if everything was alright with your daughter.”
“She a’ight.
“Why did you tell Sabrina to go back to your house?” She folded her arms across her chest.
“Yo’ my baby sick and I want her there with me, not that I have to explain myself to you.” I walked away from Nicole to go get in my truck.
“Is it the baby you want with you or is it Sabrina?” She followed me. I opened the door, got in, and turned the ignition on.
“I’ll call you tomorrow.”
“Oh, you will?” she said with an attitude. “How about you don’t?”
“How ‘bout you pay yo’ own rent? How ‘bout you pay yo’ car note?” I closed the door.
“Milk, wait.” I rolled down the window.
“Like I said. I’ll call you tomorrow.” I rolled the window up and then pulled off.
Nicole knew what she was doing when she came up to the hospital. I had enough of that sneaky shit with Asia. It’s time to get strictly business with her. Once I get the hair salon open, Nicole can act up if she wants to and she will be calling Lea asking for her old job back.
I know Sabrina is not coming back to the house now. I must say that I am shocked Sabrina didn’t dig in Nicole’s ass. I tried calling her cell phone but she didn’t answer it. I drove to Sabrina’s house, but she wasn’t there yet. I waited for thirty minutes and then tried calling her phone again, but she still didn’t answer. I figured she had gone to Ms. Janis’ house, so I went ahead and drove home. To my surprise, when I turned on my street I saw Sabrina’s car parked in the driveway.
Sabrina had already put the baby to bed and she was in her room with the door closed. I walked into my room, threw my keys on the nightstand, and then sat down on the bed. Then I reached over, grabbed the remote, and turned the TV on. I was listening to the all music channels earlier today, and Rome’s song I Belong To You was on. I heard Sabrina’s bedroom door open. I looked up when she walked past my room carrying a towel. She didn’t say anything to me, nor did she look in my direction.
“Sabrina, come here for a minute.” She walked back down the hall and stood in the doorway to my room. “I didn’t ask Nicole to come to the hospital. I know you wanted too, but I’m glad you didn’t get into with her. She came up there to fuck with you.”
r /> “I don’t have any more fight in me when it comes to you, Milk. I have been fighting bitches for over ten years behind you and I’m tired. The only thing I care about right now is my baby. You wanted to be with the baby tonight, so I came over,” she said, and then walked away.
I layed back on the bed and folded my hands underneath my head. I heard the shower turn on and water running. I was thinking about what Sabrina had just said. I have put her through a lot of shit. I got up and walked to the bathroom down the hall. I knocked a few times, but I figured Sabrina couldn’t hear me over the running water. I turned the knob, and the door was unlocked. The steam from the shower hit me in the face when I opened the door. I took a deep breath before I walked in be-cause I wasn’t for certain how she was going to react. I could see Sabrina in the shower through the fogged up glass doors. She had her back up against the wall and was crying. I know that if we ever got back together things may not ever be the quite the same, but I was willing to take that chance. I loved Sabrina. Always have, always will.
I took off my clothes, and then opened the shower door and got in. I must have scared Sabrina because she quickly turned around and covered herself.
“Get out, Milk!” she said loud enough for me to hear her.
I took the washcloth out of her hand and started to wash her back. I started off gentle, but when I thought about where Byrd may have laid his hands I started to scrub a little harder. I had to wash the smell of him off her. I was scrubbing his touch off of her. Anywhere I thought he may have kissed her I scrubbed, and now it was time for me to scrub any memories of that nigga from her mind. I turned Sabrina around, lifted her up, and pinned her up against the wall.
“Don’t ever give my pussy away again, you hear me?” Sabrina wrapped her legs around my waist, and put her arms around my neck. “You hear me, girl?” I said as I slowly stroked her. Sabrina lowered her head. “Look at me.” She looked up. “Yo’ pussy better not get wet unless I tell it to.”
Still Can Get It!
Ok. I know some of you ladies are shaking your heads at me, and I can understand why. If I was on the outside looking in I probably would feel the same way about Milk as you do, but don’t act like you have never been there. I’m sure at some point in your life you had a Milk, too. You may be with one right now and don’t know it.
I choose L.T.D’s song Love Ballard as my wedding song because what Milk and I have is much more than anyone will ever see. To tell the truth, Milk and I have had more good times than bad. I have unconditional love for that man, with or without the money. Milk is my soul mate. Yes he does have some fucked ways, but underneath the surface Milk has a good heart and he would give you the shirt off his back. There’s always going to be a Lisha, a Nicole, and even an Asia, God rest her soul. A hoe is always looking to get fucked, but I think Milk will calm down a little now that he knows that he can’t get as much pussy as I can give away. I am not saying that I condone cheating, but if Rico ever happens to slide back into town he can still get it.
Legacy!
Singing…
“I don’t ever wanna, fee eel, like I did that day…take me to a place I looooove, take me all the waaaaay… yeah… yeah… yeah…”
What y’all know about the Red Hot Chili Peppers? Not a damn thing! I fucks with them. I listen to all types of music. Believe or not, Garth Brooks is one of my favorites. I have been listening to some of everything on this drive up to VA. I have to do something to entertain myself because this hike from Florida ain’t no joke.
Guess what? I got some good news to share with you. Yo’ ol’ boy gon’ be a daddy. I wasn’t all that thrilled about it when I first found out some months ago, but I have had a change of heart. Now I have somebody to leave my legacy to. I’m sure the family is going to have a problem with my age, but what’s done is done and the baby is on its way.
What’s His Name!
I hung up the phone with Stephanie and I turned my phone off. “Come in here, Aleeaha. I want to talk to you.”
“Yes.” She sat down at the foot of my bed.
“You alright?”
“I guess.” I scooted over and sat beside her when she started to cry.
“Don’t cry.” I put my arms around her. “Everything is going to be alright.”
“My momma hates me.”
“Stephanie doesn’t hate you, Aleeaha. She is just hurt that’s all. She had you at a young age and she didn’t want that for you.”
“I didn’t mean to get pregnant.”
“How many times did I tell you if you weren’t comfortable with talking to your momma about getting some birth control to come talk to me?”
“I know.” She wiped her face with shirt sleeve.
“How long have you known that you were pregnant?”
“Three months.”
“Aleeaha, having a baby is a big re-sponsibility. You see me with Saysha don’t you?” She shook her head yes. “Are you sure you are ready for that
“No.” I got up and went in the bathroom to get her some tissue.
“Here.” I passed her the tissue and then sat back down. “Does the father of the baby know?”
“Yeah.”
“Did he tell his parents?” Aleeaha hunched her shoulders. “Do you go to school with him?”
“No, he’s out of school.”
“What’s his name?”
“I don‘t want to say.”
“What do you mean, you don’t want to say?” I turned her face around.
“I don’t want anybody to be mad at me.”
“Where does he live?” Aleeaha didn’t answer me. “You’re going to have to talk to me.”
“He moved to Florida.”
“Florida? How long ago?”
“This summer.”
“Oh, my goodness.” I took a deep breath and then let it out. “I want to talk to him.”
“Aunt Sabrina, he won’t answer his phone when I call him. When I told him that I was pregnant he told me to have an abortion,” she said and then started crying again.
“When is the last time you talked to him?”
“About two weeks ago.” I put my arm around her.
“We have to go talk to your momma.”
“Aunt Sabrina, don’t make me go back there with her. She doesn’t want me there. Can I stay here with you? You have an extra bedroom.”
“I just got off the phone with Stephanie, and she does want you to come home.”
“Do I have to go today?”
“Yes, you have to go today. I told her I would bring you home in a little while.”
“Can you call her and tell her that I am going to spend the night one more time? I’m not ready to go home and face her yet.”
“I can’t do that Aleeaha.” I shook my head. “Stephanie is your momma and I have to respect what she wants. Go take you a shower and put some clothes on so we can go.”
Gremlins Don’t Die!
All day long somebody has been calling me from a restricted number and hanging up, and the shit is starting to get on my nerves. I just got this phone and don’t too many people have the number. I didn’t even give Nicole the number. “Yo,” I answered my phone. They hung up. My phone rang again. “Yo.” Nobody said anything. “Aye… don’t keep calling my mothafuckin’ phone playing on it, bitch.”
“Is that anyway to talk to a family member?”
“Yo’ who this?”
“It’s me man, Gee.”
“How the fuck you get my phone number, nigga?”
“My baby momma called me from this number. Is she around?”
“Who the fuck is yo’ baby momma?”
“Man, you ain’t got to talk to me like that. If we gon’ be family we gon’ have to let bygones be bygones. I’m willing to forgive if you are.”
“Nigga fuck you!” I screamed into my phone.
“A’ight. Have it your way. I like Sabrina new crib.” My heart started beating fast. “It’s a shame that y’all had to part ways. I wanted t
o tell you the bitch was fucking Byrd, but it won’t my place. How is she doing… ? You know what… never mind. I’m getting ready to go knock on the door now. I can’t wait to meet the baby.”
“Naw nigga, come see me!”
“One last thing before I go. Gremlins don’t die, we multiply.” He hung up.
My hands were shaking. I called Sabrina’s phone, but I got her voicemail. “Fuck!”
I looked over my shoulder, got in the left lane, and made a U-turn at the light even though it was red. I tried calling Sabrina’s phone again but she still didn’t answer. I weaved in and out of traffic trying to hurry up and get to the interstate. I have two phones and I never gave this number to Nicole, so what baby momma is he talking about? Think Milk, think. Oh, shit, if this nigga do anything to Sabrina and my baby… I’mma’ kill this mothafucka’… think man, think….who I let use my phone…fuck!
“Man get the fuck out the way,” I hollered out the window.
Ladybug. That’s who used my phone. Aleeaha.
Tenderoni!
Ain’t nothing like a sweet tenderoni. I prefer to deal with younger women because they don’t want too much. Give them a few dollars to go to the mall and they good. They don’t back talk you. They don’t nag you. All they want is to be with you.
I met Aleeaha last year when she was staying the summer with Milk and his old lady. I knew she was pregnant months ago. I would have told her to get an abortion sooner, but I needed her. Aleeaha didn’t know she was my lifeline to Milk. I told her if she told Milk we were fucking around I would never call her again, so she kept her mouth shut. I knew the right questions to ask to find out what I needed to know. She didn’t know she was doing anything wrong so I hope Milk isn’t upset with her.
