The World Awakening Page 30

by Dan Koboldt

How long have I waited to hear that? He used to dream of proving himself to the world. Of seeing his name in the neon lights and knowing he deserved the title of magician. Now the word carried a different meaning. It meant the Enclave was his home, and the magicians were his family. Strange how much that seemed to matter now. Yet it was a private sort of feeling, a thing best left unsaid.

And Quinn Bradley still had a reputation to maintain.

“Oh, Mendez.” Quinn clapped a hand on his shoulder and walked with him back toward the others. “I’ve always been a real magician.”

  Author’s Note

  Dear Reader,

You made it! Thank you so much for reading my series from start to finish. And it is finished, as far as I know. As much as I love Alissia, I’ve always seen this as a story with three parts. Feel free to assume that every character you’ve come to love lives happily ever after. I’m still writing, of course, but I have other stories to tell. If you’d like to hear about them, please join my mailing list here:

My e-mail followers get other perks, too, like free stories and some juicy contest details.

If you enjoyed my books, I hope you’ll consider rating them on HC.com, Amazon, Goodreads, or your online bookstore of choice. Even a short review helps other readers find my book and decide if it’s something they’d like.

  Acknowledgments

I’m grateful to so many people for helping this book become a reality. To my family, for their unconditional support of my writing. To my editor, David Pomerico, for his sharp editorial eye. To the publicity and marketing teams at Harper Voyager, for helping my books reach a wider audience. To my agent, Paul Stevens, for his constant support and career guidance. To my critique partners, Dannie Morin and Mike Mammay, for ferreting out my writing weaknesses.

I would never have come this far without the support of the writing community. Special thanks to my friends in The Clubhouse, Codex Writers, the Pitch Wars community, and Impulse Authors Unite. If I still have my sanity, it’s because of you.

Last but not least, I’m grateful to my readers for taking a final trip through the gateway to Alissia. I hope it was everything you wanted, and more.
